Survival Methods One thing that largely separates the two most powerful factions, the Scavengers and the Tower Organization, is the methods each use to survive. Scavengers live and get most of their food and equipment by raiding others and killing them if they resist (although some kill even if they comply). Tower, on the other hand, has a system of farms created by the blood, sweat and tears of its leaders. Sustaining a food source is ridiculously challenging in No Man's Land, so these farms are arguably the most valuable thing in the world at the moment. Tower has managed to sustain this by doing four things: creating greenhouses that properly filter the sunlight to the plants without damaging them, working tirelessly to find and obtain any good, rich patch of soil, finding enough seeds to kickstart the farms, and choosing the perfect base location, which is right next to one of the only known rivers. Though the water is undrinkable alone, Tower has acquired enough purifiers to create a team of people devoted to keeping the farms alive. However, they sometimes still have to search for new soil or equipment, as everyone eventually does. Of course, there are always exceptions. A small amount of Scavengers live off others or choose not to kill people or raid things essential to them. Some Tower members like to raid and have power over others and follow their primal urges. While there is a clear distinction between the groups, neither can truly be the protagonists or antagonists. While most may agree that the Scavengers are the most morally incorrect in today's standards, it is simply a way to survive... |
