Fantasy Snow-Fire Academy for the Gifted

Asura looked to Lucia "was that whip...a spine?" He was asking because he couldn't get a good look during the fight. It couldn't have been any normal whip if it was able to scratch him in the slightest but a spine of all things? And even if it was where did she get such a thing?

Around the school, the bell was ringing signifying the start of lunch (last was the last update in the OOC so...you know) as one of the students headed to the canteen.

The boy was almost 18 in age, and quite tall and lanky. This was just like his dad at his age, so that was to be expected. As he grabbed a simple sandwich and drink from the kitchens, he sat down on the closest table to the corner out of the way from everyone. He wasn't shy, he just didn't fancy talking to people. Like usual. Following him was a red ball, around 20cm in diameter, that was known as Proto, the boy's robotic assistant.

Zoltar didn't need an assistant, he thought, but soon came to realize that he could use one. Rather than exhausting his hand in class, he simply commands Proto to write for him. Instead of risking himself with a welding torch or something, get Proto to do it. Easy.

As he sat in the corner and ate, he was looking at the papers. His face was looking a bit worried as he looked at one of the pages, but he soon forgot his troubles as he read through the rest.

(open to interaction?)

Having to stay with this over sized woman for now Mikage watched what she did as she spoke. Just one thing to eat would make her worse and could make her sick but she didn't seem to care at the moment. Though he was sure she wouldn't care what he explained right now anyways. even if it would help her she seemed to do her own thing least for the moment. "um.." though maybe he could try to? it wouldn't be a bad though to let her know just eating one was not so nice to your stomach. "but if you keep eating just the one you'll make yourself sick.. and have to eat lighter things." he stated though he frowned a bit with the way he watched her eat. what appetite he might have to try their food was far from normal at the moment and with his own issue to what he wanted to eat he just couldn't watch this much longer. demiSpirit demiSpirit
Then he noticed the other figure near by, It startled him a bit since he was so engrossed with this woman's eating habits that they startled the young vampire. He turned though crimson eyes on the figure though he was a bit surprised by their size. So polite though. Another thing he wasn't so use to being addressed towards him. Or was it? he watched them go off after the confrontation. though he grumbled a bit to himself and tried to relax a bit. These people so far were odd and it scared him a bit. Mikage did as he usually does to snap out of it, hitting his cheeks with his open hands a few times before he shook his head. to much for one day already for him. Alfred Alfred
Mikage sighed to himself before looking to his new friend? yeah she be a friend. "I'm finding a seat.." he stated though he did end up taking a slice of bread with him. Maybe he could be lucky and be able to eat this instead. He glanced around not sure where he should sit deciding on the least likely spot to be bothered but then again there was already someone now there. Wait! that guy had something he had never seen before. Least not in real life. Like any little boy on a mission he seemed to b-line for that lone guy sitting over in the corner. So into what he wanted to know about that thing he forgot what manners he had once he got to the table he was at. "Hey! Where did you get that?" he asked already looking get over that table to grab the little red robot to see if he could see how it worked. The Fabulous Emerald The Fabulous Emerald

"My dad and I made it. Didn't take too long - it was the programming that was annoying."

At the minute, since Proto wasn't needed, it was still in ball form and just sat there as it was picked up. Zoltar himself didn't look up from his paper as he ate the sandwich, not showing much interest in the guy. Zoltar knew that the guy couldn't pose a threat to Proto since its shell used some pretty decent grade plastic in it. It was virtually indestructible, unless you really wanted to destroy it.

Little sounds can be heard from the robot as tiny motors power cooling fans and beeps from the PLCs used within can also be heard. It was still pretty silent, but it could be heard in a quiet room or close to the ear.

Mikagi was rather interested in the little red ball. he could hear the technology inside thanks to his more heightened senses though now that he was close to it he could tell what was inside at least. It had to be just mechanical works inside from what he could tell. the young vampire sat himself up on the table crossing his legs so he could sit and listen to it. even see if it would open up if he continued to work out how it worked. "how long did it take you? and what mechanics allows it to be useful? does it do as you tell it or does it know some other way what to do?" he continued with his questions though he tried to gingerly hold it in his hand. since the other still had that forgotten piece of bread on a little plate. "how strong is the shell? it won't break if I used a little accidental force would it?"

No biggie,
mhm, mkay, Lan didn't quite know what to say in response; well she got a response at least right? and if it was no big deal to him eh she'd stay where she was at, long enough at least so that she could get up and get food without risk of losing her seat. Glancing over, the fellow she'd apparently sat next to was perhaps human? she didn't know, he didn't have any strange features like a lot of the people here in the lunch room, but then there was a lot of creatures that looked very human too, like vampires or werewolves or well other wizards or witches.
others where slowly drifting into the already full lunchroom and as she watched through the mask she seemed to at least slowly go from tense to relaxed to practically wilting. This headache was an decent one at this point and the chattering, laughing and what have you was no help. But if she wanted food, this was the time and place to get it. She fiddled with the mask again placing it more firmly about her ears trying to at least cut some of the sound and cool the ever burning headache she now carried.
Well best to make use of something for distraction, glancing back over towards her fellow student she raised one hand then pointed at his own book, "studying? or is that one for fun?" Lan couldn't even remember the last time she was able to sit down and read a decent novel, especially in this freakin' school, she still felt rather sore over the summons, she thought school was optional, boy was she wrong.

"I'd rather you didn't try to break my stuff. It took the best part of a few afternoons and my dad is a busy man."

Zoltar places the paper down, the story on top being the one he was reading about. Something about a mountain or something. He looks to the new guy, his green eyes piercing this new person's eyes.

"Besides, if you try and break it, it'll just defend itself."

Leonardo entered the Lunchroom, already finding nobody interesting to him, excluding the newer student, but he was already occupied. He later sighed in Relief, not finding Lucia anywhere in the Lunchroom. He instead sat down in an Isolated spot, and tried his best to make himself look aggressive, having his hood up and a grin on that made it look like he was ready to lift someone up by the collar. Hopefully, he wouldn't draw any unwanted attention.

"well I wouldn't be trying to.. Just hard some times." he stated though Mikage turned those red eyes on him. "from the look of it I thought that be longer.." He added. the little vampire ended up feeling awkward again. This talking to real people was harder then it looked.

"Hmm? I must say that's not what I was expecting you to ask. Yes, yes it was. It's made of a genuine human spine, if I'm not mistaken. Why do you ask?" Lucia was used to people asking questions about her usual weapon of choice. Well, that and some people running away from her in terror when they saw her carrying a whip made from a spine, which is something she never understood why some people seemed to do.

Gaining this unimpressed look by the question he sighed and held the little red ball out to its owner. "this lovely little mechanical creature. Though it be more like months or years to come up with something like this." he stated. he wasn't sure if this was going to give away how little he knew about what happens in the outside word. but at least he could learn something. Long as he didn't break it that is.

"Me and my dad are smart. And have a state of the art facility a 10 minute drive away."

As he says this, he takes the ball from him. He tosses it up and down in the air, but contemplates deeply whether or not to activate it, which would transform it into its proper form. He decides to, and speaks the command word 'Omega'.

"Voice recognition passed."

It then powers up, causing the eyes and mouth to light up, as the proper start up sequence activates. The two halves separate to reveal a skeletal metal frame underneath, with two arms. It seems to wait for a command from Zoltar, since it looks at him expectantly.

"I was just wondering seeing as it did some damage ment it wasn't of any normal origin...but where'd do you even get a spine?" Asura was more confused that anything.
SolemnSongbird SolemnSongbird

"Where did I get it? I honestly haven't got a clue where I got it from. I just woke up with it one day. I assume I got it somewhere, but, I really don't know where." Lucia explains. "...Wait, was that the bell to go to lunch that just rang? If so, we should probably head to lunch." She says, both trying to bring it up in an awkward attempt to change the topic of their conversation and because she was somewhat hungry.

Baron wasn't exactly on the right path. He thought the mountains would be the best route, since it's a straight line from the circus to the academy. A blizzard was on the mountain, covering everything in snow and a flurry of cold. He had a long trenchcoat over his uniform, making sure he wouldn't get it dirty, or catch himself a cold. His duffel bags in both his hands and two over his shoulders. The blizzard seemed to be residing as he reached the top of the mountain, a few trees in a small clearing overlooking the academy. Taking in the view, it looked glorious. He admired the large school, the trees and wide space.... And then a twig snapped. He whipped to his left and dropped his bags, drawing two Sabres from his hip and looking for the threat. There was a cloaked figure supporting itself against one of the trees, trembling with cold. A hood obscured the face. He readied himself. "Show your face coward! Thinking you can sneak up on me, what are your intentions?" The hooded figure took its hand off the tree and looked up at him, shadow disappearing from its face. A witch. She was deformed, with bumps and moles on her face, frost covering her cheeks. Baron almost dropped his swords in shock, but recovered and quickly sheathed them. His mother told him that when traveling to respect lone women.....You never can tell what they can do. He put his hands out in an open manner. "I apoligize for my rudeness ma'am, I didn't know who you were. Do you require anything?" Normally he wouldn't be so cordial to a stranger, but his mother taught him to be careful, traveling alone could be dangerous. The woman looked at him with questions in her eyes, then spoke with a raspy aged voice . "Ahaha, jittery are we? Ack-" The woman broke off in a fit of coughing, bringing up a hand to stifle herself. Her hands were wrapped in bandages, perhaps to cover an injury or protect from frostbite. Baron fished a handkerchief from one of his breast pockets and extended it towards the women. She coughed some more and took the cloth, putting it to her mouth and hacking into it. After a few moments she sighed her wiped her face, getting the frost off. She coughed once more and held out the handkerchief. Baron waved his hand "No, no. Keep it, my father taught me a man needs to carry handkerchiefs for women in need, and you obviously need it much more than me." He looked from her to the school, and tried to gauge how long it would take him to get to it from here, even though it seemed like a sheer drop. The witch broke out into a toothy grin, not used to young-ins being this nice to her. "Ha, thank you sonny. Quite cold on this mountain, what are you doing traveling all by your lonesome?" She looked him over, his looks quite eccentric. He looked like a band member, with many swords and sharp things attached to his uniform. He had four bags, seemingly packed full, he had to be quite strong to carry all of them up this mountain. Baron looked back at the woman "I'm traveling to Snow-Fire, I've enrolled and today I'm supposed to arrive. This mountain seemed like the best way to get there....but it just drops off from here. Do you know any way down?" He asked turning towards her. The witch laughed "Ahaha! Snow-Fire eh! Yes, oh yes you'll fit in there! Oh yes. But no, to get there you'd have to take one of the paths, and that's a few days of detouring. Shame." The witch tutted, seeing how he'd react. Baron stomped his feet, exasperated. "No! I can't detour! I need to get there today! Today! Isn't there any other way you can think of? Any way to get there?" He seemed...desperate. The witch grinned, a plan coming together. "Yes, sonny, yes. There IS a way. I can get you in there with my magic, but I need something in return." She pointed up at one of the trees, motioning to the branches. "These branches I need for a fire, but they're just too tall for me. Perhaps you can think of a way to get them down. Do this for me and you'll arrive at the academy on time." The woman lowered her hand and stepped back from the tree, seeing what he would do. Baron smiled, the task simple for him. He nodded respectfully at her, and stepped under the tree. He pulled a baton from his backpack and flicked it sideways. It opened up and extended, long blades jutting out of both ends, making the hand-hold small in the middle. He gave it a few twists, starting to spin it like a saw starting up. He prepared to throw it, but then shot his fist up clutching it, and with his other hand he pulled out a dagger and sliced his wrist off. Blood splattered for an instant then ran dry, his hand soaring upwards with the now furiously spinning staff, cutting through branch after branch in a macabre display. He sheathed the dagger and watched the branches falling. The witch widened her eyes at the horrid display, the young man slicing his own hand off. Seemed he had some kind of magic of his own. Voodoo perhaps? Baron motioned with his arm for his hand to come down, and it slowed and levitated back to him. Reattaching it, he twisted the staff and the blades retracted and the baton returned to normal. He put it in his bag and turned to the witch. "Is this enough for your fire madam?" He asked with a half bow. The woman smiled at him, and clapped her hands. "Most exciting! Yes young lad, it is what I wanted. Now to hold up my end." She closed her eyes and wiggled her fingers, a miasma appearing out of the bandages. She opened her eyes and they were fiery red. "Enjoy your lessons dearie! AHAHAHA!" She looked at him and he felt something pulling at his stomach. He hacked and the air was drawn out of him like he was sucker punched. The witch and the clearing were enveloped in darkness, and he soared backwards. Suddenly his world lit up again and he was bombarded with light and noise. He crashed against a wall and slid down to the floor, his bags crashing beside him. He was in a room that smelled of food and there were other people in here with him. He took a moment to catch his breath, still stunned from the witches power. Red mist poured off of him, like steam from something hot, except all he could feel was the magical energy. He hoped he was in the right place.

Mikage blinked and stared at the ball as it changed. He was rather entranced by the look of it though but he stopped himself from touching it. "oh.. what does it actually do?" he had to ask. he didn't have a clue what it did from the looks of it but his guess was it must did something that helped this guy. other wise why keep it.

"It holds things for me, writes for me and is fully equipped with a welder and a computer. Its also useful for reminding me of things. Proto, make sure you keep the paper."

As he says that, Proto salutes then rolls up the newspaper and grabs it tightly. Not too tightly though. When finished, Proto observes its surroundings, taking it all into the advanced computer of its brain. It stares at everything with cold, calculating eyes.

It was a pretty amazing little piece of hardware from what Mikage would tell. "so basically.. it does what ever you tell it to do. like some robotic butler.." That made it a little less amazing to him but it was still something interesting. "I'd love to see how it works inside."

"Well, I can't show you. Firstly, without proper tools it won't be easy to get open. Secondly, you'd be immediately sued by my dad. He has his company to think of. And it's mine. I'm not letting you break my stuff."

He is getting a bit agitated now. Zoltar doesn't like it when people break his stuff.

Mikage frowned a bit. He was pretty sure he's break it it seemed. "I wouldn't break it.. I'd take it apart to see what you used to build it.. and put it back together how you had it." he pointed to his own head as he smirked a bit glad for this little skill he had. "I can build most things that have to do with computers. I even built my own system." he stated proud of himself for that. Though the money he got to do it wasn't usually legal.

Josie walked towards the mess hall with authority. She needed to meet with a couple of newer students. She looked down at her watch, tapped it, and pulled up a 3D list of names.
Asura Lephantis
Baron Mistravio
Lucia Falker
Leonardo Dianto
Mikage Snow
Zoltar Neron

She tapped the list again, and it disappeared. She kept walking to the mess hall, now knowing who she was looking for.

Dressed in camo cargo pants, a crop top, dog tags, and combat boots, Josie was a fearful sight. To top it all off, she had a knife in her right boot, another knife strapped to her left bicep, a pistol on her hip, a M16 slung behind her back, and that hard, cold look in her eyes. Most student's thought that she was security, not the headmistress. But it certainly did explain the strict rules around the place.

Josie reached the mess hall. She walked in with her hands behind her back. She waled with the smooth efficiency and discipline of a military official. She walked down the aisles and searched the sea of students.

(The first one to notice her gets picked first!!!)

"One does not simply rebuild my inventions. They are simply too complicated too. Ah, isn't that the headmistress, Proto?"

Proto looks directly at her, and accesses its database. It turns back around and nods its head in confirmation.

"Right, well, I'd better introduce myself. I'll catch you later, I guess."

Zoltar honestly only did that to get away from the guy who wanted to break his inventions. IT was only until after he left he realizes that he didn't even ask the guy's name. Oh well. No dirt off of his back.

Josie kept walking. How she wished she had pictures of the students! However, this was out of her ability, so she would have to deal with it. As she was turning around, a young man came to face her. "Hello young man. Can I help you?" she asked as nicely as possible, while cocking her head and putting her hand on her hip, coincidentally the side with her pistol. But apparently being in the Royal Guard for any amount of time and losing your whole family overseas hardens you up pas the point of "nice", as his eyes told her. This young man was intimidated to infinity and beyond.

Mikage wasn't so happy he got another no but he wasn't about to force him to. it wasn't his after all. Maybe he could figure out how it worked if he saw it again some other day. though he blinked confused by who this guy was talking about. Mikage tried to figure it out himself to who he meant but wasn't sure he got who it was. "oh. sure. See ya around. we're all stuck here." he stated mumbling a bit as he watched to where he had headed off to. maybe he could figure out who he meant by watching.
