Smile Sweetly

Reeds face turns even paler as all of the blood drains from it. His muscles tense as he sees the gleaming silver knife shining in the rooms dim lighting, then being grabbed by his father. He's limp as the cold handcuffs slice through the air around his wrists. He pulls at the handcuffs as he returns to the world, his blood running cold. He stares at Angel, screaming at himself to look away but he just can't.

Angie's eyes widen withe fear, and she freezes with fear, her hand limp in her mothers. Her blood becomes ice, even the curled ends of her hair drooping as everything kind and sweet flies from her eyes, sadness, fear and anger replacing them. Anger at Bianca, sadness for Reed and fear of the large silver knife. She clenches a single small fist at her side, knuckles turning white. She pulls weakly, fear weakening her, draining every bit of energy from her small form.

Mother smiles at little Angel her eyes gleaming. Her heart fluttering with happiness, as she places the tip of the knife right below her elbow, using the underside of her arm, because the skin was softer and slowly digging the blade in, moving it downward, deepening the cut as she does. Mother lets out a loud laugh, as she ends just above Angel's wrist, twisting the blade slightly.

Marc watched his wife cut the young girl's soft skin. He looked down at Reed, who's face had gone white. He pulled back Reed's wrists tighter, in case he tried to do anything.

Time feels as if it slow down as Angie watches the knife pierce her skin, the pain piercing her gently first, and swelling as the cut drew downwards. She chokes on her scream, eyes watering and tears dripping down from them.Tears stream down her face, veins practically popping from her translucent snowy skin.

Reed clenches his fists, muscles tightening as he watches Angel. He pulls at them slightly, wanting to help her so badly. He clenches his jaw, trying not to cry. Stay strong. Is his mantra as he watches the scarlet red blood stream down her arm, staining her white blouse and jean skirt. He choked back his sobs, not able to look away.

Mother takes out the knife," Oh, baby you were so brave," She say, patting angel on the head," Marc you can take Angel and Reed back down to the basement. Wake up the others please and stitch up Angel," She instructs, before sitting back down in her chair," Wait, give Angel some extra rations today and send the others up for inspection."

Angel bites her lip, tears still falling down her face. She clutches her cut arm to her stomach, staining her perfect white top red with blood, turning the clear tapestry into a red sky of sooty white clouds. Her skin is stormy grey from the blood that she lost, and she scuttles away from her mother, and over to Reed.

Reed attempts to hug Angel, but cannot as his hands are still chained behind his back. A single tear streams down his cheek, and he wishes with everything in his that it had been him. She was only what, 12? She is just so young, poor kid. He sees the blood soaking her top, and his face grows paler at the sight of her grey face. She lost so much blood.

Marc uncuffed Reed and took him downstairs, where he woke up everyone else. Then he took Angel into the bathroom and stitched her arm up, not saying a word. Then he sent her to the basement and told her to tell the others to come up for inspection.

Reed stumbles down the steps, rubbing his sore wrists, and then pounding the heels of his palms into his eyes.

Angie winces as the needle enters her arm, and nods, her steely gaze matching her grey skin. She stumbled down the steps, slightly lightheaded. "Daddy says it's inspection time." She tells everyone in as loud a vice that she could muster. Collapsing on her bed, she buries her face into her pillow and soaks it with tears of pain, and fills it with pent up screams, silencing the latter with the pillow.

Bianca smiled as she saw Reed come down the stairs, looking unhurt. She wondered where Angie was, but not for long. She didn't really care. As long as Bianca wasn't getting hurt, then Bianca was fine. Then Angie came down. Her shirt was dyed red with blood and her arm had stitches. Bianca's smile faded and she looked away. When Angie said it was inspection time, Bianca stood up and started across the room and up the stairs. She couldn't be late for this one, or she could end up worse than Angie.

Olivia was quiet throughout the whole ordeal, between Mother coming downstairs and inspecting them and when they had to choose people to play Mother's 'Game'. She Didn't feel like speaking through any of it. She didn't speak sometimes, only because she hoped that if she didn't interact with the others then maybe Mother would notice, and maybe she'd become her favorite. Though, she knew herself that was a stupid and childish idea. Olivia's been here long enough to know that being mother's favorite wouldn't change the amount of mistreatment she'd received.

She saw reed come downstairs, he looked not to hurt, but that wasn't necessarily a good thing. If he was okay then that would mean.....Angel wasn't. A few moments later she saw Angel walk down the stairs. Olivia's noise was really sensitive to these things, so she could smell the blood on her, even from where she stood at the back of the room. Angie announced that it was inspection time, before walking towards her bed and crying into her pillow. She sighed, she felt so bad for the child, but it was nothing new. Olivia knew from the years of being here, that the only thing you could do to survive here was to: Suck it up and deal with it, Be obedient, And never lie to mother and father. She walked to the front of the room, and clasped her hands together. She was Mother's 'Pet' so she had to make sure everyone hurried up stairs. Olivia said with a tone a teacher would use to call children, "Alright everyone, Hurry upstairs! We don't want to anger Mother now do we? Make haste everyone!" And with that, she walked upstairs, but not before she made sure she looked perfect for Mother.

(Sorry for being so late :P )

As, the more of the children file up the stair Mother still wields the blade she had cut deeply into Angels flesh. She frowns, staring at Bianca with cold eyes, then quickly changes her view to Olivia," Good morning children," She greets them, pointing the tip of the blade towards them. Her mood has slowly diminished from sadistically cheerful to well bored.

Ruby sat in one corner of the room, leaning against the wall. She felt sick, obviously feeling a fever starting to rise. This happened sometimes, but it was usually only a 24 hour bug. Wiping the sweat from her forehead, Ruby coughed a little and hoped they wouldn't pick her for "Mother's" game.

(Sorry I'm late!)

Reed glances at Angel, before trooping up the stairs a bit after everyone else. He bends his knees to sink below his tall height, hoping not to be noticed and likely failing at that. He gazes at everyone, shooting a glare at Bianca. In his opinion, she deserved it. She tricked him and Angel into falling into their mothers trap. He'd get her back, at some point, at least.

Angie sits up on her bed, leaning against the wall. She cried herself out, no longer as oblivious. She could tell that her mother and father meant her harm. They didn't mean anything to be kind. They just wanted her and everyone else to be in pain. She itches at her stitches, wincing slightly as she accidentally pulls at one thick black string.

"Line up please," Mother commands in a dull voice, she studies each child that has awaken and came up for inspections. Boredom was noticeable in her eyes and she needed something else to entertain her. The knife still in her hand she lays her thumb across the blade and thinks, licking her pale pink lips, circling the children as she does.

Bianca was first in line, she usually was towards the middle, but she was the first to leave the basement. She didn't want to make eye contact with Angie or Reed. Bianca heard the noise of the children walking as they lined up behind her. She noticed that Mother hadn't put her knife away yet, which usually meant she wanted to play more games.

Olivia straighten up. She second in line next to Bianca, and as mother gazed at all of them, she felt a cold chill run down her back. Mother looked bored, and that could be either a good thing or a bad thing depending on her mood. She tried to keep, her hands at her sides and not play with them - because that would be improper. Oh how she wished Mother would put the knife down.

(( bump ))
(( bump. it'd been nice if the mother or one of the children other than awkwardxprincess would post!! ))

(Me posting...)

Reed continues to glare at Bianca, and slowly moves behind her, murmuring "I'll get you back." before immediately moving back to where he was standing, continuing to glare at her. If looks were capable of killing, she'd be dead a thousand times over.

Father

Father started putting away the first aid stuff in the bathroom he used to stitch up Angie. He heard the childrens' footsteps coming up the stairs and stuck his head out. They were all in a single file line, and mother was facing them, holding a knife. It looked like it was inspection time, and since Mother was holding a knife, Father decided to keep the first aid out of the counter. Mother looked bored, and that could only mean she was looking for someone to hurt.
Bianca

Bianca could feel Reed's glares burning into the back of her neck, she turned around, ready to tell him to knock it off, but he spoke first. His threats didn't mean anything to her. "How was I supposed to know your girlfriend would get her arm cut off?" Bianca sneered. She turned around, facing Mother again. She had to worry about Mother and Father hurting her, she didn't have time for any of Reed's BS.

"She's not my girlfriend." Reed snarls back at her through the corner of his mouth, temper rising. his right eye twitches, a glare consuming his features.

"Oh sorry!" Bianca said in a sarcastic tone, turning around. "Friends with benefits." She smiled and turned back around to face Mother, loving making Reed angry. When Bianca was first kidnapped, she told herself that she would never let herself be like Mother, or hurt people for pleasure, but now she does. But at least Bianca doesn't go around cutting people open. But maybe toying with their heads was worse, those wounds never really went away, leaving scars like Mother's knifes.

Reid's eye continued twitching, and he worked on cooling his temper. He didn't need to deal with that (censored for about five lines). He could just deal with it on his own, and get revenge in his own way. A smile slowly crept across his face.

Mother glares at Bianca," Shut up child," She says, flicking her wrist slightly, like she dying to use it," Bianca darling did I give your permission to speak," She ask, frowning. There was a flame of rage in her eyes, shining like glowing embers. She walks over to the insolent child, grabbing her by the chin and forcing to look into her eyes.
