Sky's Descent

Star smirks as he lets Sky's tackle hit knocking him out of the way of the arrow leaving her in its path. His magic keeps a hold of the metal pipe that he begins overcharging the electricity enchantment of even as he rolls with the force and ends on his rump.

Blue bows his head for a second, Celestia guide my shot, he prays as his horn glows intensely. The well maintained reinforced wood of the bow groaning in protest from the stress it was under as he takes aim and fires the shot at the prone unicorn. The air booms at the cross bow shatters, it's last bolt screaming through the air, shinning like a star as shards to wood slam into Blue's shield making him flinch.

(You have metal arrowheads, yeah?)

Star turns to look at the incoming arrow. "Nope." His robes frazzle a bit near the side that would be hit and the string stretches out and coils around to help bleed momentum from the shot. Given that Star's robes before sliced through griffons its not exactly unsurprising that they do a pretty good job of acting as a cushion of wires more or less. The arrow still manages to nick his side though. "You forgot my robes were enchanted, I imagine."

(Most of them, but he does have a few trick shots.)

As the bolt head bites into Star's neck the blood triggers a series of small hard to see runes to flicker into life, their magic releasing a potent mixture of unstable alchemist reagents and arcane energy burred deep in the bolt's metal core. The lines engraved on the metal glow white for the slightest second as the metal violently and suddenly exploded.

(Like that.)

Blue surges forward as he watches the bolt rips itself asunder just behind the enchanter's head, frowning slightly as he brings his sword up for a charge his horn shining as he redirects the stores of energy into his body. He grits his teeth in pain, feeling his muscles, the very fibers of his being burn with the amount of energy coursing through him.

One step.

The majority of the explosion would be wasted, he had no doubt that the slippery unicorn would have some contingency for such things. Maybe a bubble of air designed to trigger in the presence of over pressure?

Two steps.

It didn't matter, he would be distracted. One unicorn could only have so many tricks and only had so much attention. Blue could see him stumble already, desperately trying to escape the imminent cloud of death while trying to concentrate on his own surging form. No doubt he was putting on a pretty light show, the amount of energy bleed escaping from his horn was nearly blinding him.

Three steps.

Nearly there, he thought to himself as his blade unerringly lined itself up with the center of Star's chest. His vision blurred, his body screamed, and he could almost feel his horn disintegrating. Somewhere in the back of his mind he registered his liver fail and watched as blood vessels in his lungs explode. Even if survived this fight he'd be dead before the end of the day.

Final step.

He tried to roar as he thrusted his blade at Star's chest, discharging his magic into the blow, the sword glowing white hot as the energy poured into it. Blue's scream filled the air, bloody foam flying into the air as his felt his body begin to shut down, the stench of burned flesh filing the air as streams of white hot fire erupted from his skin as his body burned away from the staggering levels of energy he was pouring into himself.

Time slowed as he felt himself die.

Blue, the familiar voice of the grey mare sighed from somewhere beyond his vision, what little of it was left. What's happening?

We're moving on. He thought back as he felt his body begin to crumble to ash, an unfortunate side effect of increasing his magic, he got to feel every microscopic piece of himself die. Done my bit for Equestria, time for some rest.

You always said you'd rest when you were dead. What's going to happen to me? The voice warbled, a trace of fear in her voice as the twin points of light that had become his world dimmed.

Nothing,
Blue replied, you never existed, as the points of light shrunk to the size of pinpricks.

The lights went out and he was plunged into darkness.

(And Blue's out of it folks.)

(And that ladies and gent's is how you die like a boss/scrub)

(Sky looks down at the scene abs can only think. ... Well Fuck)

Sky bolts down from the sky, flying behind where Star is standing, hoping to catch him attempting to dodge Blue.

(HA!)

As soon as the arrow's magic activates Star looks intently down on it out of the corner of his eye. "Nicely done." In the few moments he has to prepare he directs some of the strands of his robe to protect his hide from the imminent explosion even as it pulls the bolt away from his flesh. As the explosion goes off the robes prevent him from being torn apart and shunted the fire from burning him.

Blue's roar however catches Star's attention before he can purposefully allow the force of the explosion to blast him away and his attention focuses on the massive amount of magic before him. "That will hurt." Tendrils of the robe not currently occupied protecting his side reach out to some of the ship's wreckage and tug him away just before the edge of the blade could hit him. Unfortunately he couldn't direct the force they used so he smashes into the remains of the hull and out of sight for a moment.
