Skyrim!

This is open for general Skyrim discussing, but I'm also looking to start a new Skyrim file. I just can't quite decide how exactly I'm gonna go about playing it. So, I figured I'd make this and get some suggestions for the different decisions I make when creating a new file. If anyone decides to answer, try to answer for only one of the decisions at a time, that way other people have a chance to contribute.

First: race. I'm kinda tied between Khajiit and Argonian. Can't pick between those two.

Second: gender. Nothing much to explain here.

Third: name. What will the great Dragonborn's actual name be?

Forth: fighting style. One handed, two handed, archery, magic, or unarmed. Or some awkward combination of those.

Fifth: armor. Light, heavy, or none. Shield or no shield. Or an awkward combination.

Sixth: the character's "personality." How will I respond when speaking to NPCs and how likely am I to not give a f*** and just murder everyone.

Seventh: factions. Which faction(s) will I join if any?

That's about it. To anyone who offers suggestions, thanks a bunch. It really helps.

This on PC? If not why the hell not?! If so then mod, mod, mod away!

Oh, right. I forgot to mention that. I only have the Xbox 360 version. I don't have a computer that could run the PC version nor do I have the money to get one.

Have you tried to be a thief that only uses illusion spells

Do you mean using illusion spell and the skills of a thief? Because I have done that. If you mean using only illusion plus whatever I need to sneak and steal, I'm not sure how I'd fight with that without getting into trouble very often.

Thats it you dont fight you only steal and use illusion to help you

Hm...interesting idea, but I'm not sure how long I'd be able to avoid fighting. I suppose I could use fury spells to make other people fight each other. But until I get the Silent Casting perk, I'll have to be ready to run whenever I do that.

Yea thats the downfall but you could also use the calm spells it helps if you get caught pick pocketing someone you could also use muffle and keep going up until you get the spell that turns you invisible

Yeah. I'll keep that in mind for later. For this is was hoping for something more mismatched. Which is why I asked the questions seperately. That way I get something crazy and try to make it work.

You can always add some random skill to it that makes it what you want you dont even have to use sneak its up to you

I suppose...

On a seperate note, I was playing one of my other files and my game kept freezing when I got to a certain spot on a path. I reset and continued back to the spot and saved edits continuing and it froze again. So, I reset and loaded my save and I got a little farther but still froze. Any idea how I could fix this?

Not go to that spot i dont really know did you try to go around it

Yeah, I can't think of anything else to do. It's on the way to Ivarstead to get to High Hrothgar. I was trying to take the quickest route but I guess I could fast travel to Helgen and go that way around.

Thats what I always do i guess thats why i never get caught in that

Wait the was another route to Ivarstead i never knew that...then again i did climb a mountain just to get the dragonstone

Yeah. I used to climb mountains but after getting frustrated about not being to get up I just used paths. There's almost always a path to wherever you need to go.

Yea i never had the patience to find them although i find a path sometimes that lead me close enough were i can just jump past a couple of rocks and get to the front of the stairs some how i never questioned it

I think if you unmarked all of your quests and place a custom marker on the map, you might be able to use clairvoyance to show you the path.

It's an illusion spell that shows you the path to your current goal. It's a novice level spell so it should be easy to get. Definitely useful if you don't know how to get somewhere or where to find a quest item.

Oh idk why i though it was in the alteration skill tree i guess it was because i never found it useful

Yeah, sometimes I forget which spells are illusion and which are alteration. Especially after playing Oblivion and having to deal with mysticism.

I never played oblivion the only game i played out of that whole series was skyrim elder scroll five and it was fun until i had nothing to do
