Skin Deep(Sheani&Ayezombie)

Distracted by the swirls, Ura's gaze seemed to glaze over, until something flash in the corner of her eyes she turned and caught it. "I challenge you to a duel." She heard, Smiling she straightened, pulling her hair up into a knot using a bandanna that had been wrapped around her wrist.

"I accept that challange." She spoke, her voice lowering as her mind automatically placed itself into a survival zone, her eyes narrowing and her stance becoming one of defense.

Cole took a step back, eyeing her opponent and trying to figure out what Ura could possibly try and pull. The plants in the back caught her attention, so she began to circle around, not once turning away from Ura.

Silence was deafening, but the clicking of Cole's boots broke it. She lunged forward, knocking her sword into the red head's. The clacking sound rang throughout the entire room, dust swirling about them.

A murderous grin stretching over her face, Ura breathed out a slow breath through her lips. As soon as the harsh 'Clack' resonated around the auditorium she leaned back with one foot before knocking her sword to the end of the other, her feet dancing her to beside the girl in a breath. Her foot struck out wrapping around the other girls ankle, pulling as she danced away, her own shoe-less feet made not a sound, excluding a small 'jingle' that came from a bangle which rested on her ankle.

Cole fell back, tripping over her own feet quite unapologetically.

'Ofcourse she has sword training. Duh.' She thought, struggling to fend for herself again Ura. She was practically a master compared to her, even if the match only lasted a few seconds. Within a moment Ura had her sword to her temple.

"I give, I give." She laughed, laying down onto her back.

"Mecum" With this the plants that were now behind her came crawling forward, until the vines were long enough to reach her. She laid her sword down onto them and propped herself up with one the hung above her.

Looking at her skeptically she slowly smiled, her body seeming to relax, but the glint in her eye making her seem not quite out of her 'mode'. "Oh? So soon?" She sighed, her hands running along the length of the sword, "Or are you working at some foul play..?"

"not at all." She huffed, standing up. Cole touched her chest dramatically to act as if she was insulted. Then though, one of the vines wrapped around then hilt of the sword, and swung forward. The one that had propped her up swung by Ura's feet in an attempt to trip it.

Their movements were extremely basic, and not very fast. But for a beginner at this sort of magic it was a good sort.

"I might not be very athletic at all, but I have a few tricks up my sleeve."

Eyes flashing as she regains her smile, "Good, I would hate to have to use..." She paused watching the vine as it lashed out at her feet, unable to move for her odd stance she was knocked off balance. Simultaneously her hoodie was thrown from her frame as her tank top shifted to reveal a pair of large wings, their color seeming to change depending how the light hit the feathers as she was launched into the air just far enough to be out of hand reach.

"On second thought.." She giggled, "I don't think I'd mind using it."

"Okay... How did you hide those under your sweater." Colette said in awe, her jaw dropped and eyes as big as dinner plates. Sure she'd seen wings before, but she'd never seen them just... Appear like that. And none as vibrant or technicolor as that. She'd only ever seen people that had their wings all the time, and most were dull greys or whites and blacks. Aside from the leather wings she saw last year at a music festival, Ura's had her absolutely transfixed.

Giggling as she landed a few meters from Cole, Ura allowed the wings to stretch out before pressing them to her body in one swift move. "They are quite strange are they not?" She asked before making a slightly pained expression as the feathers seemed to sink into her body.

"Its simple really." She choked out, smiling up at her a slight glint of sweat shining on her fore head, "Its the gift of a Hybrid, well and my fathers mother- a witch." She ground her teeth as the last of the growth was absorbed by her body, letting out a sigh as it was over she turned revealing her back which was covered in a large tattoo, shaped as wings not realistically, but a good design.

"Its like how were-wolfs can shift into their different forms." She clarified, smiling softly, having not enough energy to duel and longer she simply allowed herself to lean on the plastic sword.

"Well, you certainly have some much cooler tattoos than me." Cole said, still in an awe. She picked up a water bottle from her bag, handing it to Ura.

The vines begin to retreat as they werent being called apon anymore, the magic failing them at this point.

"So, you don't have any... abilities persay. But you have a magic pair of wings you can call apon whenever." She said, pretty much repeated what she had learned from the girl so far.

"Does it wear you out to use them, or to phase back? She asked, curious about how they worked.

Taking the water, Ura smiled gratefully, sliding down into a sitting position while she drank half the content. "Well, in a way, its like a muscle that you have to use constantly." She said running a hand over her dreads to make sure she hadn't lost any of their jewels.

"So, it doesn't drain you of energy, it simply makes you feel tired, like if you run a mile and you never run." She giggled thinking back to her relatives, whom never did anything athletic besides throw punches.

"So I'm guessing you haven't done anything with them reccently?" Cole laughed, shaking her head a little as she sat down next to the girl. Laying down on her back, she looked back up at the dust. She was surprised Miss Rictor hadn't made an appearance again.

"Magic is kind of like that. If you don't practice, it'll eventually fade. Like rust growing on a door hinge or on a wheel. If you take care of it though, oil it and keep it moving, it'll stay healthy. Or like a plant. A plant is probably a much better metaphor." She laughed, splaying her arms out to either side.

"Yeah.." Ura murmured lightly, her eyes drifting shut as she thought aloud. "My Uncles wouldn't let me use them, calling them a disgrace to their kind." She bit her lip as she began walking back through the memory, "They wanted to remove them, cut them off, but if they did that I probably would have been just a shriveled resemblance of a Angelic." She sighed one of her hands twitching towards her back remembering the pain of one of her uncles growing enraged at her ability, and hacking at her wing with a pear knife.

((Sorry!!! I totally thought I had replied.))

"That's horrible."

Cole was struck dumb, not knowing what to say. She couldn't believe anyone could treat their own blood so horribly, just because of something like that. Perhaps it was a grudge her uncles held with one of her parents for having a child either their practical opposite species.

"In sorry they acted so harshly. I can't imagine the pain."

(Its all good ^^)

Waving her hand dismissively at her words Ura smiled up at her softly. "Its not your fault, nor your problem. You did nothing so why be sorry?" She chuckled before pulling her hair into a tighter bun. "Enough of the dramatics!" She cried before leaping to her bare feet, "Now then, show me around this lovely domain." She expressed her grin stretching from ear to ear.

(Hoorah for getting off of work early.))

Cole laughed, standing up to join the girl. There wasn't much to this area of the arts wing, other than the back rooms and the raftors. The rafters were her favorite, not just because that's where all of the old stage props were left to just so generously be used for art projects.

"Well come on!" She said, starting off twords the scaling to get up to it.

Curiosity had gotten the best of Ura long ago as she was jumping around in the stage, following Cole, her newest friend she found herself taking in the unfamiliar territory with ease. It was much smaller than what the art wig provided so far, but still impressive due to the current circumstances of glitter and sparkles.

Climbing up into the rafters was like going through space. This was where the thickest bunch of the black powder was, blacking most of everything out around you. Getting to the top though, you're looking out over the mess.

"Welcome to the rabbit hole." Cole said, stepping up onto the platform. Old stage props were strewn everywhere, anything from old sets to costumes to boxes of materials like crowns and nerf guns.

"The rabbit hole huh?" Ura giggled looking around at the mass of seemingly horded set pieces and props.

"This is fassinating," She muttered her eyes taking in everything from the powder to the dusted sets.

Picking up an old tattered gown that had seen better days, and a cheap yellow wig that had once been braided into a delacate fishtail but now resembling greasy unkempt dreads with random loops full of twigs. "Like these, the memorys must resemble something like 'sex in the ally'" Ura joked her grin spreading along the length of her face.
