Ghostly Presence
Sawyer
She was cute. Sawyer couldn't help the smallest of laughs that escaped her when Grace apologized to Mr. Schmidt for for spacing out. But the second Grace was walking over to her and sitting down next to her and Sawyer suddenly felt very nervous. This was new. Usually, Sawyer was a cool. There had been many a time she'd spent playfully flirting with random girls with no problems and a very even heart rate. But something was different now. Her chest was tight and she felt like she was sweating a little too much. Sawyer reached up to wipe at her brow. She wasn't sweating. Why did she feel like she was? Sawyer tried very hard to keep her face even as Grace introduced herself. The slight nervous lilt in Grace's voice calmed Sawyer down, but only a little. She managed to return her easy grin back to her face. But her nerves would only flare up again when Grace complimented her jacket. Sawyer grinned and looked down at herself and smoothed at the jacket with her hands. She was only realizing now that she was wearing almost the exact same thing she had been last night and Grace had most definitely seen her in it. Fuck. That was kind of embarrassing. Damage control. Try to convince her you're not a total slob, Sawyer. She laughed, a kind of awkward laugh, coated with embarrassment.
"Really? Thanks, it's, uh, it's my favorite." Sawyer cleared her throat, "I was in a rush this morning, kinda forgot I wore it last night. Totally did not sleep in it." Smooth, Andrews. Fuck. What was happening again? Her eyes were really pretty. Like, really pretty. Sawyer wondered if she'd ever seen eyes that blue before. She didn't think she had. If Sawyer was poetic she would probably have some fancy shit to compare them too, like the sky or ocean, but all Sawyer could think of was how bright they were. Blue. Wasn't that her favorite color? Sawyer couldn't remember. Honestly, everything about her was bright, like staring into the sun. But not like....the sun that burns your eyes if you stare at it for too long, not that there was another sun anyway...fuck. She was just shiny, no not shiny that sounded stupid. Shiny, shiny, glowing. She glowed. That was it, yeah. She was glowing. She was glowing and Sawyer had been staring at her like a weirdo for the the past minute.
"Uh, sorry. Spaced out." A chuckle, "I'm Sawyer, nice to meet you, blue eyes." Okay, so maybe Sawyer should stop thinking about her eyes and use her actual name, but that was honestly kind of smooth so she wasn't going to back track it. Even nervous she still had it.
