Sideral cartoon

S'all good, I was just messing around with ya :P . It's understandably a tough name to spell.  But, make that Tachikoma-Strider!!! :D

In the dream, the woman in the warstrider, identified as Mnemon, says "Face Me!". A voice says "As you wish". The demon-empress emerges and then says "It's been to long, Ejava".

Channeling the White Wolf spirit of "we meant to do that", I offer the following: it is being assumed that this last comment is being addressed to the woman in the warstrider. Suppose that it isn't.

Instead, assume that, this being the Roseblack's dream, she is the observer, and, thus, not pictured in the dream. You'll note that the "It's been to long, Ejava" does sort of look like it is being delivered into the "camera", i.e. the eyes of the Roseblack.

The demon-empress' comment can, in fact, be thought of as something of a snub to Mnemon. Mnemon goes through all this trouble to assemble an army to fight the demon-empress, but when her adversary shows up, it doesn't even acknowledge Mnemon's presence, instead addressing Tepet Ejava.

White Wolf editorial staff, here I come!

Actually, what I really think is that the Roseblack is the woman in the warstrider and the "Be brave, Mnemon" comment is being made to the metal woman (clearly under the effects of Skin of Bronze or Incomparable Body Arsenal) next to Ketchup.

But, my previous interpretation is wacky enough to be more fun.

I am honestly completely baffled that anyone managed to have any other interpretation than this one. It isn't that hard to follow what's going on, is it?

The trouble is... I've seen what Mel's art style is.... and the metal woman looks more like the Tya sidereal than Mnemon. Especially when you consider that the metal woman looks like she's under the effects of a celestial spell... But that's me quibbling.

Maybe Mnemnon got ahold of the Mantle of Brigid? Ya know, snatching it away from the Empress's room while she was down in the pits and all?

There's also no saying how far into the future this dream is. If any other DB is going to achieve Celestial sorcery, its going to be Mnemon.

Question..

How can she impart a vision of the future that involves things Outside Fate? She shouldn't be able to see the Ebon Dragon and the Empress there if they are outside fate, which they are, unless I'm severly mistaken..

Occasionally there's some hints that there's something else besides the Loom of Fate which you can get visions of the future from; this is an example, along with the Orrery of Arainthu (which can predict the future involving the Underworld).

I think it's just one of those things that Storytellers are given to play with if they like, and it's useful because you can use prophecy as a plot engine without limiting it.
