Show Tune Into My World

Gruntiest of the Grunts!
Cartoons are for children!

An adult who still likes cartoons aren't in tune with reality.

Adult children!

This is what Derek would have in mind whenever he was asked what his favorite television show was. He'd shrug and make the off-handed comment that he didn't watch TV. His clients would assume he really didn't have enough time to do so- he was a workaholic, after all. As a personal trainer, he was dedicated to his students, spending hours on them at a time.

But he still made time for cartoons.

After quietly warming up some leftover dinner from the fridge and settling himself on his sofa in front of the television, and then when he was comfortable enough, he'd switch it over to his favorite channel.

@OppaiHime

"Guys, hurry! It's almost time! We can't let this chance slip us by!" Aubry huffs, hurrying her toon friends to get the wacky contraption in place. There was a very special human that she wanted to get her hands on, but they have to time it just right so she doesn't miss her chance.

Although to the humans, whatever they do on the screen just looks like their everyday wacky adventures. Aubry comes from a show known as '
Wacky Toons' which is sort of similar to Looney Tunes mashed up with Mickey Mouse. It gives homages to the classic cartoons back in the day. Even if Aubry does put you in mind of a Betty Boo/Jessica Rabbit character. At least in character design. She's actually really sweet and tends to get the other characters into crazy antics instead of acting like the damsel in distress that most characters seem to portray.

As a familiar face appears on the screen, Aubry grins as they manage to put it in position.
"Oh, you guys are the best! Just in time! Let's test it out, okay?" If all goes well, she'll be in the human world! If not, she's gonna have to pay the doc a visit about his machine!

"Fire it up boys! I got a date!"
She squeals as the wacky wolf cubs fire up the device. They fire it at the screen, a multicolored beam shooting out as a blinding light emits from his television screen. After a few moments, it dies down. However, instead of Aubry being able to come out, he would find that he can come in! If he happens to touch his screen of course. "Oh no! It didn't work! I-I can't get out!" She cutely whines, banging on the screen on her end.

@CactusWren

Meanwhile, Derek was watching this with a rather confused expression. Huh. Was this a new episode? He couldn't remember any advertisements for it.

Or he could be dreaming, which was possibly the only viable option at the moment.

He looked at his watch. Everything else seemed fairly normal. He pulled his black bangs behind his ear and sighed, leaning back against the couch. Work had been pretty exhausting today. A female client had asked him out and seemed very annoyed with his policy of not dating his clients.

So, she fired him, and then asked him out.

Derek declined again, saying he just wasn't interested. Apparently that warranted a painful and not to mention loud slap to the face, and plenty of stares from the other gym-goers and trainers.

Their own faces were mixed with that of amusement and/or sympathy.

When are they going to continue the episode? Were the writers just really lazy with this one? Derek was disappointed. Or it could be that the television was broken. All he could see was the girl repetitiously bang her fists against the screen.

This isn't fair! Not one bit! With comical tears, she stares at Derek before pulling herself back up. "Oh! Someone get Dr. Cone here now!" Aubry huffs, stomping her heel against the ground as the wolf cubs trip all over themselves then runs off to fetch the doctor. With a comical scowl, she drums her fingers against her forearm as her right foot taps impatiently against the ground. Within a few seconds, the cubs return with the kooky-looking penguin doctor. "What got your curls in a knot now? I was in the middle of an important experiment!" He flails his flippers at her with squinted eyes, waddling from side to side.

"Don't you take that tone with me! We did everything you said and look! I'm still here! Your blasted machine didn't work! See!"
To emphasize her point, she moves closer towards the screen, patting on it. The penguin raises a bushy brow as he strokes the beard under his beak. "Oooh....must've been some kind of miscalculation or something. Don't look at me. I did my part. You wanted a machine to transport you to the human world and I did just that. Now it's not my fault it didn't work. It was only in theory, I wasn't expecting you to actually go." Aubry gasps, clasping her hands over her mouth as she trembles a bit.

Her face then darkens as she growls, pulling a giant bat out from her cleavage.
"You quack! You are going to figure out where you went wrong in your calculations or so help me, we are going to have roasted bird for dinner tonight!" Aubry huffs, swinging the bat wildly as the penguin waddles away, evading the attacks. Unfortunately, poor innocent toons were getting homerunned left to right.

"Waaaaaaait! Can't we talk this out? There's no need for violence! I-I was kidding!"

"You. better. fix. this. before. he. turns. the. channel!"

"Okay, okay! I'll fix it!"

"Really? Great!" Right when Aubry had him cornered, she tossed the bat away, turning as the penguin slumps down, catching his breath.

Giggling, she turns around, blinking in confusion at the destructive scene before her.
"Oh, when did that happen? Oh boys~, peel yourself off the ground! We have a show to do! While doc figures out what went wrong, we have to make sure my darling doesn't watch something else or I'm going to get really maaaaad~" Aubry coos, chuckling as the other toons start to pick themselves up.

"Sorry, we'll stick to the script until it's ready~"
She waves at the screen, giggling as she and the other toons huddle together, whispering for a few moments before they do a scene change to keep him occupied.

Again, Derek remained confused, leaning forward and resting his elbows against his knees.

Something weird was going on.

He sighed and stood up to inspect the television. He checked the back, messing around with the cables and pulling them out of the electrical socket for a second before plugging it back in, the television only flashing off and then back on. It was still on the same channel.

Derek crawled back to the screen and examined it. It all seemed normal... it even looked like the scene was changing, what with Aubry using her assets to bludgeon all the unfortunate creatures who just happened to stand between her and the penguin doctor.

He yawned and glanced at his watch again. The episode was weird; he wasn't sure it ever started like this before. He reached up to the dial to turn it off but found himself accidentally touching the screen. His fingers went in.

Derek stared blankly at what was just happening before him, and tried to pull his arm back to free his hands.

They were stuck.

In a slight panic, he desperately tried to yank his hand out of the screen. When he leaned a little closer to get a better position to pull back, the rest of his fingers slipped further in until his entire hand was consumed.

He cursed, reaching about with his free hand to find his cell phone.

His cell phone was sitting on the couch without a care in the world.

The man made an attempt to grab it with his legs- as long as they were, they still couldn't quite reach the phone.

They decided to do a birthday episode for one of the toons so they wouldn't raise any more suspicious thus losing Aubry's chance to snag her human! Although as the theme song begins to play and Aubry does her thing in the opening, something strange happened. His fingers....no, his hand was prodding on their end of the screen. Aubry's eyes widened, turning to twinkling stars as she brush her fingers against it. "Oh my goodness, oh my goodness, oh my goodness!" The device did work, but not as she wanted. Instead of sending her to his world, it was going to bring him into her's!

Sadly, he was trying to free himself. Well, they certainly can't have that!
"Boys! Emergency! Grab his hand and pull!" That's when Derek would feel himself being pulled further and further as the wolf cubs bring him into their world. Aubry clapping with glee as more and more of him is brought over to their side. A

fter a little tug-of-war, Derek would get pulled then rolled further down the landscape in a comical ball with the cubs before they crash into a nearby tree. Aubry runs over, starting to peel and toss away the cubs until she sees Derek.
"Oh my, are you okay?"

Derek felt his heart racing with even more panic when he felt tiny claws grab at his fingers and the sensation of being pulled in. Now his arm was in. Unfortunately, the most he could do is prevent himself from going in further, as pulling outwards was not an option.

Despite genuinely struggling to stay in his own world, he was thrust into the dimension of 'toon town.

He thought he may have a concussion somehow.

Like, an accident happened at work and this was all the result of hitting his head against the pavement- he's done it before, too. He simply stared with blank violet eyes, void of emotion. Mostly out of shock. He didn't answer her questions and instead pulled away from her, calmly dusting his jacket and his pants of the dirt from rolling down the landscape.

He gazed up at the sky and saw the screen of his living room, and he frowned, folding his arms. He ignored the other cartoon characters gathering around to look at him and immediately started up the landscape to get to the screen... maybe he'd somehow get back ins-

Nope. When he reached out his hands flattened against what felt like glass. He scowled and pushed. It wasn't giving way. He looked at his watch. The episode had fifteen minutes left before commercial break.

I don't want to stay here, he thought, trying to push again.

Oh wow, he's much taller than she is! And he's even more handsome up close! Be still her beating heart! Though she didn't expect him to act like this. Any other guy would have went bonkers if they were in his shoes. Who wouldn't want to be around Aubry? Did she do something wrong? No, it's not her fault. It's the doctor's! He came up with the device and made the miscalculation that resulted in this. She wanted to go to his world, not bring him here.

Aubry motions for the other toons to go off and do their own thing as she carefully strolls up to him. "That won't work, silly. I was trying that earlier remember? Looks like it only works from your side. Too bad, I was really aiming to pop up in your living room, not have you end up here." She press a finger to her lips, staring up towards the sunny sky before her eyes slowly shift elsewhere.

"Try not to worry too much, darling! I have the doc trying to work it all out now. Hopefully he can figure out the problem and then we can try again! So...in the meantime, why don't I show you around." Not like he has anything else better to do. If she couldn't go through the screen, neither can he. The doctor will figure something out...he better or she will flame broil him and serve him to the cubs!

Derek was talking to himself silently, his lips moving slowly as he tried to come up with some sort of way to go back to his living room. He rested his forehead against the glass. It felt cool against his pounding headache.

He could feel Aubry trying to pull him away, but he didn't want to leave and come back to black screen. He looked at his watch again. Now it was ten minutes until commercial break.

"Stop," he told the cartoon. "Leave me alone. I have to think." He sat down and leaned back, staring up at the screen. His eyes travelled to the couch on his living room... his phone was still on there. He shook his head in annoyance. Great good that would do now.

He really hoped his clients would realize something was wrong and report him when he didn't show up to work the next day. He was actually really panicking over having to potentially miss work... he rested his chin against his knees, lost in thought.

He had to remember that this was a dream... but even in his dream he wanted to think logically. And logically, he wanted to be home.

Aubry freezes, staring at him with confusion clear on her face. However, she does take a step away from him, a frown on her face. She gives him one last look then moves further away, sitting down underneath one of the shady trees. This isn't going how she thought it would. 'I always pictured this going differently. He's not acting at all how I thought he would.'

Did she make a mistake? Should she have gone after another human? He always watched her show whenever he had the chance, she thought he would be happy or at least show it! Pouting, she stares from afar as he stares at his screen. The show will be going off soon which means the view of his living room will disappear until tomorrow or when the next time slot for Wacky Toons airs.

Whenever any of the other toons approach her, she waves them off, telling them it's all going to be okay. She wants to see what he's going to do. Not like he can do anything, not until Dr. Cone works everything out. As the credits roll, the screen would begin to slowly disappear as the full world of Wacky Toons expand further out.
"We could...visit Toon Central...you could meet the other toons." It's where they all meet up after a long day of entertaining.

Derek's eyes dimmed in forlorn as he watched his home vanish before him. He couldn't move; despite trying to convince himself that this was a dream, he was feeling immensely homesick, like he had a feeling he was never going back home again.

Again, he could hear Aubry behind him, making an attempt at going with her, but he didn't want to. He just wanted to stay and wait for his room to reappear.

At first he seemed like he was going to ignore her again, but before she could leave him, he growled, "Why did you do this to me? Who said I wanted to come in here?"

He felt like a complete idiot for talking to a cartoon character. For all he knew he was in a medical room mumbling about speaking to Aubry and running rampant in a fictitious world. He couldn't help but be angry, though.

"I didn't want to come here." He clenched his knuckles and stood up, scanning the area and keeping note of where he was, before walking past Aubry and going in a different direction. His arms were folded in on each other, uncomfortable. He doubted he could find a place where he could hole up until he finally woke up, or- if by any insane chance this was actually real- he could see his living room again and come up with a way to go back home.

Oh yeah, this has definitely gone in the least desirable direction. He was angry, but this wasn't her intentional! She wanted to go his world! If he hadn't touched the screen when he did, his hand would not have gotten stuck and she wouldn't have had to pull him in! It was either end up in her world or get stuck to the tv. Who knows what might've happened to his hand if he had stayed like that. In a way, she did him a favor! Geez, what's his problem? Okay, yes, he was brought here unintentionally, but she's working on a way to send him back! That quack of a penguin just has to figure it out.

"N-None of this was my intention. My goal was to end up in your world, not the other way around! You should be thanking me actually. What if we had't pulled you in? Who knows what might have happened to your hand! At least you're in one piece." Aubry pouts, crossing her arms under her bosom. She then looks at Derek with furrowed brows.

"You don't have to be a jerk, you know. I did say the doc was going to work it out. You'll be back in your world before you know it. I just hope he figures out what went wrong..." Sighing, she glances over towards the machine, frowning more. Now he's going to end up hating her for something she didn't even want herself. Would he have been like this if she had popped up in his living room? He's so..cold. She's not used to this kind of treatment.

Derek saw the machine. He hadn't noticed it before. He looked over his shoulder at her and delivered a glare to her.

"In a way, it was," he said quietly. "You shot that machine at my television." He faced the front again. "I didn't want you in my living room, either. At the most I would have asked that you left or find a way to get back home." Cartoons were just cartoons to him; he couldn't believe they were anything more than that. In fact, he refused to believe that. There were animators and voice actors that created the character, not life! It was too bizarre for him to comprehend.

Thinking about these things only worsened his headache.

"I'm not going to thank you for pulling me in," Derek snapped, furious that she would even dare make such a suggestion. "I just want to get back home. I'll figure out a way... somehow."

Aubry wasn't even his favorite character. She was entertaining to watch, of course, but he always enjoyed watching Dr Moonblum, the occasional villain of the show. That's not to say he'd actually want to meet him and risk having an anvil or a mallet dropped on his head, he just liked seeing the crazy antics he came up with. He groaned and stopped to massage his head.

Ouch! Her heart breaks at his words. So harsh! So mean! Okay, in a way it might have been her fault. She did ask Dr. Cone to rig up that machine. She did also point it in his direction. Aubry pushes her fingers together, sniffling and even shrinking when he snaps at her. He doesn't have to be so mean! If he couldn't return home, he would make a great villain!

"Fine, be the way! I don't have to take this. If I knew you were like this, I would've went after another human! Hmph, if I wanted my feelings hurt, I would've went to see Dr. Moonblum." Not that she really wants to be bothered by that maniac. With a small scrowl, Aubry whistles, the wolf trio making an appearance in their usual toon car, screeching to a halt at her side.

"Forgive me for wasting your time. Give me a call when you realize you can't get home without me." Raising her head up, Aubry plops into her seat as the group sped off, leaving Derek to his thoughts. Maybe once he spent some time wandering around, he might sing a different tune.

Derek would have felt bad for the other human, but it wouldn't have been his problem so he didn't bother commenting on it.

He wondered how she expected him to react after being forced from the comforts of his own home? That he'd jump at her with hugs and kisses or become wildly in love like many of the male characters of the show? He shook his head.

He didn't even watch Aubry drive away, though he could feel her presence disappearing from within the vicinity.

He sighed and settled under a tree, staring at the spot where he had seen his home. He was determined to get there on his own, without any help from the crazy toons that dragged him here in the first place. He shook his head and wondered if he would wake up on his living room or, more likely, in a hospital bed. All this was too weird.

He watched toons interact with each other in the distance and remembered watching his first Wacky Toons episode when he was six. Huddled in a gray room with all the other abandoned children, it had been raining when the Miss Jackalbee turned on the television and introduced the cartoon. He was in love. It was probably the only thing that helped keep him going... whenever he believed he couldn't bare it, he'd at least have something to smile and look forward to.

At the time, Aubry had been his favorite character. Sometimes when he was alone, he'd pretend she was his friend. Imaginary friend, Miss Jackalbee would explain to the potential new parents who came to visit the little boy. The last memory he had of her was asking her to be his girlfriend.

And then he grew out of the imaginary friend stage- but it didn't stop him from watching the cartoons.

Sweet innocence. Derek rested his chin on his knee, but not before checking his watch for the umpteenth time. Two hours. He released another sigh.

This has been a complete bust. Nothing has gone right today. The machine didn't work the way it was suppose to, the human she's been fawning over totally hates her and now she feels uber depressed! Not even the usual antics of her fellow toons could cheer her up. She feels horrible. When they pull up in front of her house, she stares down into her lap, small tears streaming down. She can understand the anger, but did he really just want to go back home? Any other person would have loved to end up in their world. Sure, he would be mad at first, but she thought he might warm up to the idea. Maybe he just needs some time to cool off or something. Aubry sniffles, the wolf trio frowning as they look to their star with the cutest puppy eyes to cheer her up. At first, she looks away, knowing if she stares too long, she'll fall for it, but they were persistent! Eventually, they ensnare her in their trap and actually get her to smile. "Oooh, I can never stay upset when you three do that!" She hugs all three in a tight hug as their fluffy tails wag from the affection.

"Haa, what should I do? We could just kidnap him and bring him back here until the machine is ready. I wish I knew how long it will be before Dr. Cone finishes it. I was really hoping to spend time with him. Even if we were just friends. He...just looked like he needed someone..."
Aubry is aware there are billions of humans and most have similar situations like Derek's, but she took a liking to him. Even if they didn't pursue anything romantic, she still wanted to at least make him smile. He just looks so sad and lonely. "Be a darling and see about getting Polka's birthday party together. I will join soon, kay?" That's when she hops out the car, letting the trio drive off to get everything ready. It really is Polka Giraffe's birthday and whether or not they did an episode for it, they were still going to celebrate it.

Aubry stares off in the direction they left their human guest, sighing as she goes inside to change into one of her party dresses before she goes to spy on him. After a few minutes, Aubry makes the trip back to where they left him, it didn't take too long due to toon physics. She stops a little ways from him, not sure how she should approach him. He would see all the other toons starting to prepare for a bash not too far off in the distance.

As a child this experience would have been one of a lifetime. He would have been completely over the moon to explore all of the places that Aubry personally visited, and he probably wouldn't have been able to stop hugging her the period here was there.

He probably wouldn't have even wanted to leave.

Derek heard the car zooming up from the side and didn't have to turn to see it was Aubry. He took a deep breath and gazed over in her drection, resting his cheek against his knees.

Oh, it was Polka's birthday today, wasn't it? He remembered there being an episode about it coming up.

None of this felt real, but he had been telling himself that for the past two hours.

He wasn't waking up. It looked like he was trapped there for the time being...

He finally sighed and cut his eyes away. "What do you want?" he murmured, less angry than he was homesick. He watched her evenly before sitting up and taking the small band off his hair and readjusting it. It had gotten a little messy when he was forced into this world and felt a little embarrassed to be in that condition, even if it was in front of a cartoon character. "Listen, Aubry..." Wow, this was weird. "...Can you really help me come back home?"

This was like a plot for a comedy movie. Granted, he would have watched it if it were, but he genuinely preferred if he wasn't the star...

Aubry really wanted to touch him, but she decided against it. He was already upset and she didn't want to give him any more of a reason to hate her. She has been thinking about what she wanted to say. An apology might be a good way to slowly build her way back into his good graces. It would be hours before his screen will return, but what good would it do? It will just be a reminder of his situation. Not like he can return presently. He certainly couldn't stay out here the whole time. Even if she did get upset with him, it would be rather heartless to just leave him to his own devices after being the whole reason why he's here to begin with. He just looks so sad...."I just want to talk. I could leave you alone a little while longer if you need time." She just wanted him to hear her out. Hunching over, she stares at his face. She really just wants to touch him. Just one comb through his hair, one hug...it's not every day she gets a chance like this to interact with an actual human! Her eyes do widened in disbelief before her lips curl into her trademark smile. "I'm not entirely sure myself. I almost had my doubts about that silly contraption even working, but it did..in a way. That kooky penguin actually did it, even if something went awry." She crouches down till she was at his eye level, pouting a little.

"I really am sorry about all of this. I didn't want you to end up here..my aim was to go to your world. You just look like you needed a friend, you've always did, even when you were younger. You used to have the cutest smile. It made me so very happy that I could be the one to make you smile that way." Aubry muses, staring off into the distance as she reminisces. It always warm her heart to know that her show brings joy to those who watch it, even if it's just one episode that they like or even if it's not her and another character. They're all part of the Wacky Toons series. Her smile turns to a frown as she stares back at him.

"Though lately, even while you're watching our show, I barely see it. It's like you're just going through the motions of your life. It makes me so sad...and that's when it hit me, if I could get to your world, I could make you smile again! That's how I got the doc to work on that bad boy." Her eyes sparkle as she marvels at the machine the penguin whipped up for her.

"Albeit, if Dr. Cone is unsuccessful, do not fret. There are other toons we can visit to help us out. We'll just have to visit the other toonverses until we can find a way to get you home. Where one quack fails, another will succeed! Just...don't give up hope, okay?" With that trademark smile, Aubry stands up, smoothing down her dress. She then looks to Derek, extending her hand out to him.

"In the meantime, let's go celebrate Polka's birthday!"

Derek quietly took Aubry in as she neared him and leaned down to his level. It was actually very hard not to be won over by her infamous pout- with her full lips it made her look both cute and sexy to her viewers, Derek included. He cleared his throat and again turned his eyes away.

He was actually about to ask her why she had been so keen to visit the human world, assuming at the most that she wanted to explore it for its sights. He didn't think it was at all because she wanted to specifically see him.

"Needed a friend"?

He didn't really understand. Yes, he preferred to keep to himself, and yes if there was an option at attending a social event he would turn it down, but it was more because he liked his solitude. He wasn't sure if he noticed he was being sadder lately. Apparently this was all her own opinion, though he was still curious as to why she thought that way about him.

It might have been because he grew used to being a perpetual frowner. People just took you more serious when you kept a straight face and rarely laughed.

Still. It would take a lot to bring him back to how he used to be as a child- carefree and innocent and, arguably, happier.

He looked at Aubry again. The dress looked nice on her; he had always been somewhat annoyed when the art designers would give her less clothing to put on, but there were times where he quite liked what they drew on her, much like the outfit she had on now. He then realized that he was currently thinking a cartoon character was actually very attractive to him and glared down at the ground.

He honestly wasn't sure to think of her promise to bring him back to his world, but it was the only shot he had.

"In the meantime, let's go celebrate Polka's birthday!"

Derek stiffened. Social events... were not his thing. At the most he'd probably sit in a corner and watch the festivities take place. For a moment it looked like he wasn't going to accept Aubry's outstretched hand. He stared at the huge space where he saw his living room and made a somber sigh before reaching out and accepting the starlette's tiny hand and let her help him up.

He was surprised by how small she was in comparison to him. He always imagined her to be a bit taller. It might have been from how he pictured her as a kid.

Yes! He's starting to warm up to her, not like how he was when she first tried to give him a hand. She did notice he got awfully tensed at the mention of Polka's party. Did he not like parties or something? Now that she thinks about it, whenever he got invites or calls involving any social events, he always turned them down. She never even saw him throw a party for his own birthday! He's not very sociable, such a lone wolf. Aubry blinks in amazement at how big his hand were to her's and how tall he is. She isn't going to get over that one for a little bit. Yes, there are tons of other characters who are much taller than Aubry herself, but she didn't think Derek would be this much taller than herself.

Shaking her head, Aubry sticks a finger in her mouth, using her teeth to help pull off one of her gloves, showing her bare hand. Aubry has never once during her whole existence ever removed a glove. They're part of her trademark design after all, like Mickey Mouse. Since he never took his hand back, Aubry gingerly place her nude hand over his. Her hand was very soft which is to be expected of a very feminine character. Her eyes softening as her fingers glide along his palm. She even press her palm against his, holding their hands in front of them as she start to lace her fingers with his, giving it a squeeze. She uses her free hand, which is still gloved, to grab the glove from her teeth. She kind of loses herself for a moment then realizes what she's done, quickly withdrawing her hand with a bright blush. "Ah! I-I'm sorry! I...I just wanted to see what it was like...to touch a human..with my hand." She shyly confesses, quickly slipping her hand back into the glove, making sure it was on comfortable with a snap.

Clearing her throat, she looks to where the party was being held then back towards him.
"If parties aren't your thing, you don't have to go. It's bad enough I brought you out your comfort zone, I'm not going to force you to do something you're not exactly comfortable with. I'm not a monster you know." That's when she pulls out a key out from her cleavage, holding it out to him. "Why don't you go back to my place? You didn't really get a chance to eat and I bet you're tired. You can help yourself to anything in the fridge. Make yourself comfortable. It's my fault you're here anyways."

With a smile, she hops up and smooch his cheek, leaving a large kiss print behind.
"Mwah~! Teehee, see you in a bit. I'll bring you back some cake~" That's when she waves him off, leaving him to attend the party. She is Aubry after all, it would be rude if the star of the show didn't make an appearance at Polka's party!

Derek stared at Aubry quizzically as she slowly slid her hand out of the glove. Her hand, strangely enough, looked so much daintier now that it was uncovered. Slender fingers eased down against the palm of his hand. However odd it was, it felt very... intimate. He flattened his hand and let her press into it. Like he imagined, it was very small against his. Despite the size difference, they fit evenly in the spaces between his fingers like two perfect puzzle pieces.

Intrigued, he didn't say anything, simply watching what she was doing. She felt warm for a cartoon.

He finally snapped out of it when Aubry pulled back, and he similarly flinched at her outburst. "No. Don't be. It was... interesting." He slowly put his arm back down to his side.

Derek perked up at her assurance that he didn't have to attend the party and honestly released a sigh of relief. That was one problem out of the way. Not only did the entire "socializing" aspect worry him, he didn't want to be the victim of an oncoming dynamite explosion. Toons were able to bounce back to their feet, but from what Aubry had told him, he had the inkling that he was the only human in this world.

The only mortal human.

He took Aubry's key awkwardly, looking away when she dug around in her breasts to find the object. For some reason seeing her do it up close and personal made it feel all the more uncomfortable to him than sitting on his couch and watching it on television.

"Thank y-" Derek openly winced and resisted the urge to push Aubry away when she grabbed him and kissed him. Well, that was one thing he was right about- she was incredibly strong despite her size. "...Thanks. I'll, uh, see you later, then." He could feel the lipstick plastered on his cheek and he wanted to wait until she was out of sight to wipe it off.

After waving to Aubry when she jumped in her car, he sighed and used his sleeve to smear the mark off his cheek, and from memory of the show, walked to her house, unlocked it, and sat on the couch.

Polka's party was a big success! There were minor toon antics in terms of violence, such as exploding cupcakes and things of that nature. It was a blast, literally. Aubry had loads of fun, it was a shame Derek couldn't join in. It would be late in the evening before Aubry would return home with a trio of tuckered wolf cubs in her arms. They have had a long day and they need their rest. If Derek was still up, he could hear the front door being opened then closed before Aubry would go through each lock. Humming quietly, she would take her little sidekicks into the bedroom on the first floor, putting them into their bed as she tucks them in, giving each cub a kiss on their heads right between the ears. "Sweet dreams, boys." She removes her heels, tiptoeing out the room as she close their bedroom door shut behind her. She then sashays through the living room, sparing a glance at their human guest. She checks to see if he's still awake or not.
