A while ago, I tried creating a sandbox super hero RP. It worked well enough at the beginning-there were a lot of character concepts. We had a gay space pirate, a death demon, a forgotten werewolf king, and countless other amazing characters and concepts. However, me being the inexperienced GM that I was, I let it get quite boring quickly. Things progressed far too slowly and people just trickled out. However, now that I have learned more from observation, I would like to try this RP again.

Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to Sherwood Shores.

The Idea

The idea behind this RP is that everyone is the hero of their own story. When you make your character, hero or villain, they will have a goal they will strive for. Something they desire and will strive for. Some characters will take a more passive role and simply chase down any villains they see, while others may be making an effort to better (or worsen) the world in one particular way.

So to sum it up, you'll give your character a goal from the start. You'll make them hunt this goal over the course of the RP, and you'll work with other players to make their story and yours both more interesting. Some characters will achieve this goal by the end. Some may change their goal. Some may become better or worse people. And some may die. So the goal is to create interesting stories. Some grim, some bright. Some sad, some happy.

The Setting

The city is Sherwood Shores. It's on the western coast and is in California. To the rest of the world, it is known as The City Of Heroes because of the sheer number of heroes and villains that populate it.
