The institute was quiet, no one had been looking after this place for years until Jane showed up so not many frequented the beautiful building. Jane stood by a window looking down over the streets, they needed more shadowhunters and she knew that. She let out a soft sigh her eyes shining as she looked at a picture of her husband on the window sill "I miss you.." she whispered quietly. She heard a soft knock on the door and called "Come in".

James walked in smiling at his mother who tilted her head asking "Where is Rose?"

James chuckled "Downstairs training of course, you should come down and train with us...." his eyes dulled a bit "I Also want you to look at Rose's arm. She says it's not bothering her but I think she's lying"

Jane nodded and followed her son downstairs heels clacking against the floor "She is a great warrior but she needs to respect herself more" James nodded in silent approval as they walked into the training room.

Rose nodded respectfully to Jane her eyes glittering in the bright lights of the room, fresh runes covering her arms. She was wearing a short black leather dress with lace up back and knee high back stiletto boots, one of her trademarks.

Marian was apart of the institute for as long as she can remember since her mother left her here during the time to go and fight off demons. Her mother cared a lot about Marian and her safety so she thought it was best place to ensure her safety. Marian practices all the time so she doesn't have time to socialize with many of the other shadowhunters in the institute. But today she took a break from all the training and went to the garden room that was in the institute, it was filled with many beautiful and exotic flowers that not even a mundane could recognize. She had her stele tool with her and began drawing a vision rune on her arm that allows her to freeze an object, person, or creature for a short amount of time.

Raikou with arrived at the doors of the church that leads to the institute in a red jacket with a duffel bag over his shoulder and a roll of cloth across his back which holds his two adamas katana. He peered at the door through his black shades and then knocked opened the door to the church and walked further on to the door of the institute. He knocked on very loudly almost producing a thunder like sound as he did so. He knew they should be expecting from his letter of introduction that should have arrived three days ahead of him otherwise this was going to be awkward.

Jane blinked curiously hearing the knock at the door she walked towards the door heels clacking against the floor. She opened the door and smiled "You must be Raikou, welcome" she motioned for him to come in. Rose and James were training in the training room throwing and dodging eachothers punches determination in their gaze.

Heloise Linette Verlac

Location: Institute, Training Room

Mood: Curious, Nervous, Impatient

With: James & Rose (@trix)

After what seemed like forever, Heloise finally got Auguste, her horse, out of his trailer and into the stable. He was irritable and rightly so; after taking first prize at a show in France, he had only one day of rest and relaxation before they loaded him onto a boat. So Hel wasn't surprised when he trotted haughtily ahead of her. "Damn snob," she huffed under her breath. As much as she loved the huge beast, he sure was a shit. Another Shadowhunter had accompanied her to the show and back--as per Jane's request--and finished bringing the horse's things into the stall before depositing Heloise's stuff in her room while she tended to her beast.

After about thirty minutes, a car showed up to the curb and a Shadowhunter she had never seen before got out. Her curiosity piqued, Heloise figured she may as well go see who it was and let Jane know she was home. Lord knows that woman always worried about her. She made her way up the path she had worn in the grass the past seven years of living here. After finally being back in New York, USA, she remembered how much she wished she was back in France. But she was still "in trouble" even though she was a legal and responsible adult. Upon that thought she rolled her eyes. The new guy was already walking in the door when Hel reached the bottom of the staircase in front of the entrance to the Institute. "I'm home," she said plainly as she passed the woman; her accent was stronger after spending a month in her home country.

Heloise had a correct assumption that everyone else would be in the training room. Peaches. Hel had nothing against Rose and James, they all would go out on the town together on occasion, she just preferred training alone. But her body craved the workout so after changing into a tight shirt and spandex shorts, showing the brutal scars on her thigh. She made her way into the training room, happily scaling up the rounded support column and into the beams of the ceiling. Throwing knives while on the ground was too easy. Now Hel was practicing throwing and climbing. Because you never know when you might run into a pack of demons in the woods!

"Yes I am." Raikou said following her into the Institute and then sidestepping to allow another resident through. He took a cursory glance around the New York Institute which was already clearly different from the Hokkaido Institute. "I assume you recieved my letter of introduction by how you know my name." Raikou began. "So should I just choose one of the guest rooms or you have one specific in mind for me?"

Marian began watering the plants in the garden and started to think of what her life would if she weren't a shadowhunter. She knew of how the mundane world functioned but she never really imagined how she would survive in it, to her it seemed boring and plain with nothing exciting to do. Marian thought it would be a good time as ever to sneak out and go and see a warlock she used to talk to before she got very serious with work. "Hmm...hope she's still around," Marian muttered to herself as she finished watering the planets.

Alexia sighed as she walked around the institute. She could see her parabatai in the garden and hoped that Marian wasn't going to try anything that could get her into trouble. The girl was tempted to go to the training room but it was probably crowded, so instead, she went to the kitchen and began to make some steaks. 'Might as well cook food now and eat. Maybe I should go see Bane. I just hope she is home' Alexia thought to herself.

Marian walked out of the garden room and saw Alexia heading away from her,'Hmm...wonder where she's going. I'll talk to her later," Marian said to her as she walked the opposite direction from her and headed towards the train room of the institute to practice with her seraph blade.

Jane smiled at him pleasantly "Yes I did receive your letter and must admit I am quite impressed. I'm the leader of this institute, my name is Jane" She turned down a hallway sweeping out with her arm "Any room down here is fine" she nodded her head to him "Do you need help with anything?"

James and Rose were off to the side of the room talking for a few moments before Rose walked off playing with her ponytail.

Asher had finally decided to get some daily training in after he had taken his nap of about 5 hours. He was on his way to the training room, eyes drooped and back hunched only a slight bit, but enough to realize. His fingers were shoved into his pockets with the exception of his thumbs and his button down flannel was freshly ironed, just how Asher likes it. After passing a few of his fellow shadowhunters, he approached the training room. Upon seeing a group surrounding a newcomer, Asher asked the nearest person about it. He walked up, next to Rose and made eye contact for only a second before saying, "What's up over there?"

@trix

Rose blinked curiously stopping her fidgeting with her ponytail looking to the group she looked back at the man "New shadow hunter that just arrived, a lot of new people got transferred here." There was no emotion in her voice, she wasn't normally approached or talked to at all. She looked at him and said simply "I haven't seen you around before..." @Trundle

Asher looked at the girl. He realized that the two had actually never met. He had seen her face before, but no name. "Huh. I should be asking you that. I've only seen your face a few times, recently." He knit his eyebrows and pursed his lips a little for just a second. His face relaxed and he turned to her, holding his hand to shake hers. "Asher. Nice to meet you." He said in a low voice.

Marian heard the name 'Asher' coming down the hall but she shook her head thinking that she is hearing things. She hasn't been in contact with her brother since they were ten years old. Marian practiced even more with her seraph blade, moving it in a slowly and steady motion before pushing out into the air forcefully as if she was stabbing a demon.

Alexia raised her voice so that it would echo through the Institute and be heard above the sounds of training, "Any of you want food?!?!?!?!?" She sighed softly as she heard Ashers voice. Perhaps he would be hungry. Walking out of the kitchen she followed the sounds of his voice until she found him speaking to Rose. "Rose, Asher, do either of you want food?" She asked with a small smile. @Trundle

Rose blinked curiously shocked by his gesture shaking his hand gently "rose..." She looked up at him "weird that I haven't met you before...I guess that's what I get for always being out though" her voice still showed no sign of emotion. She looked at alexia "no thanks" @Trundle @Nylana

Alexia looked at her and replied, "If you change your mind, there's a ton of food in the kitchen. I might have gotten carried away..." She grinned and looked at Asher, hoping he would want some of the food. @Trundle

Asher looked over at Alexia when she spoke to him. Food was always an acceptable way into Shorts heart. "I love you Alexia. Whatcha got?" He was already on his way to the kitchen before turning around and saying to Rose, "Nice to meet you by the way." He continued towards Alexia.

Rose simply nodded shoving her hands back into her pockets and heading back off towards her room. There was a dull look in her eyes.

James heard the call for food and looked after rose debating going after her before going to the kitchen. He grinned "food sounds good to me"

@Trundle @Nylana

Marian walked out of the training room since she heard so much chatter and she walked down the hallway while still holding her seraph blade in hand,"I didn't know we were throwing a party?" Marian said as she walked towards Alexia, Rose, and a new guy who had reminded her of someone but she didn't want to say since she thought it was only in her imagination,"Is it just me or do you guys seem him as well?" Marian said in a whisper as she looked that the 'stranger' who reminded her of her brother and she wondered what he was doing here,"Well you don't smell like a mundane so you must be one of us, are you new to the institution?" Marian asked as she ran her hands through her hair. @Trundle @Nylana @trix

James walked into the kitchen where everyone was shoving his hands in his pockets looking over everyone. It was so lively at the institute lately he enjoyed it though he was worried about Rose. She had never really been one too communicate with many people. He shook off his thoughts looking at everyone "Is anyone going out hunting tonight? There has been quite a bit of activity today..." he looked at everyone in turn.

Rose sighed slightly as she walked into her room letting her hair down sitting in front of her large vanity mirror brushing it. The mirror had pictures of her and James all around it. @Trundle @sprouhtt

Isroh was in a bit of a predicament... A fight with another demon. A hound that had come to attempt to drag him back to hell. It didn't take long, soon demon lotus vines were constricting the hound to death. It screamed, whined, then fell dead in the streets.

"Well... That was borning." Isroh growled, continuing his little walk. He was still trying to devise a plan to get the information he needed, but in three years earth had changed a ton! And as a demon it was very difficult to receive help from anyone.

rose had gotten geared up still wearing her short dress and knee high boots but she put on a black leather jacket with fur around the collar. She strapped a seraph blade on either hip and began heading out wandering the streets hands in her pockets, glamour up. She had headphones in lost in thought. She stopped sensing the prescence of a demon. @Demonhunter

Isroh knew where there was one hound there was a pack. He walked from the ally to the street, right past Rose. He noticed the runes... But right now she was the lesser of two dangers. The hounds came barreling through the ally he'd came from, barking and snarling after him... But then got distracted by the scent of a nephelum. Any chance to kill a shadow hunter, a hellhound would jump on it. Isroh suddenly turned just as hounds lept at the shadowhunter, making an upwards motion with his hand and a thick wall of razor wire-like vines shot up and ensnared them. All four hounds were ensnared, constricted and choked out until they were gone.

"Dammit Shiro." Isroh muttered. The hellhound alpha just never gave up sending hounds after him. His violet eyes fell on the shadowhunter for a moment before abruptly turning and moving to walk away. He didn't want to stick around and wait of the neohelim to kill him. @trix
