Fandom Shadow Terrorist Saga: School Festival Arc

Dante

Dante made sure to quickly follow after the others as they left the dorms. For quite some time, he stayed quiet, just taking in all the sights. The school had been transformed, almost overnight, from a den of scholastic and heroic endeavors to a massive festival. It was... almost overwhelming, admittedly, for the small town boy.

At least, it seemed he wasn't the only fish out of water. Kimi, as per usual, was nervous, but less usual was Tsurei's agitation. Was something bothering her? Maybe she was just a bit annoyed at her plans getting shot down, but why did she want them all to split up, anyway? Oh well, he was probably just over analyzing things again...

Then, of course, Ryu mentioned the haunted house. If he knew Becca, she'd either want to check it out immediately, or she'd wait until it was dark so it would amplify the spook factor, if it was open that late. Then, a blue haired male appeared.... Dante immediately got quiet, just watching the boy. Although he had warmed up to most of the class, Dante still fell into old habits around new people. This person was in the band? Why hadn't Tsurei mentioned that she had a friend in the band when they were all talking about it?

No, he needed to stop expecting the worst out of people... Just because he grew up with a bunch of sociopathic devil-spawns didn't mean everyone was like that... How could he ever hope to be a hero if he thought everyone else was a villain?

"If he's cool with you, I don't see why he can't stick around." Dante finally spoke up, suppressing the unease he still felt in his gut.

"As for what we should do... I'm up for anything, but I gotta say that obstacle course looks like it'd be fun" He added to the others. Given he somehow enjoyed himself in the maze their first day, despite losing so much blood, it was probably little shock that he found he enjoyed such physical activities.

Moving back to the dorms, Aruka moved toward the showers, still tired from the morning run. Placing a hand to her forehead as she entered one of the stalls, she let out a deep sigh, her mind unable to escape her own outburst. "Why did I do that!?" Aruka thought to herself, pondering it all. She had promised herself this sort of thing wouldn't be commonplace here like it had been in her old school. Sure, her roomate should have known better in her mind, but still, she was only trying to help Aruka get out, something her mother constantly told her she needed. "Ugh." She silently groaned, trying to shift her attention from it, not wanting to dwell.

After her shower, Aruka dried herself off, before changing into a simple top and pants, heading toward the kitchen to get some breakfast. It was relatively empty when she arrived, getting herself some cereal, she glanced over at a place to sit. As she did so, she spotted a somewhat familiar face, a new girl in their class. Feeling it would be rude to sit alone, Aruka moved toward Scarlett's table, taking a seat at one of the chairs some distance opposite the girl.

"Hey." She simply greeted, her tone emotionless as she looked back toward her cereal. Aruka didn't know much about the girl, but as for her father, there were few that didn't know about him, especially in a school like this. It didn't matter much to the green girl however, she wasn't her father, and neither was Aruka. That was where they had something in common, though Aruka at least had the benefit that hers was not so infamous. "You know the festival is starting soon?" Aruka spoke up once more as she looked up toward the girl, assuming most would have left already, before returning to her breakfast.

The guard asked, To which the man in the van looked at him and said "Sorry mr, We are the band hired by the school. We wear costumes like heroes cause it gets people going". The guard looked at him then nodded. "Let me see your pass" The guard stated as the driver handed him the pass that was sent by the teacher of the school for the band so that they may enter into the school. "Alright, everything checks out you may enter" He said letting the van through.

"So Hunter lets go over the plan again shall we" A man in the back said. "As far as we are concerned we are only here to help the group, we are to be on stand by in case anything goes wrong, We are to pose as the band until dreamspace takes full effect, though we shouldn't be affected by it cause we haven't been on the grounds for the full duration of its activity. If anyone remains awake we are to take them out" The driver said as he stopped the van near one of the auditoriums. "Oh and call me hunter one more time and I'll kill you myself, my only name is Cross" He said exiting the Van.

She was sitting there for a few minutes, think on what she should do. Maybe...Scarlett should join the festival? Though it would maybe be easier if she just kinda hung out by herself. She sighed, staring off to nowhere, until...she heard someone greet her. She snapped out of her littler trance, her eyes falling on one of the girls from her new class. The girl with green skin. Reguardless, even though logically Scarlett knew the girl was talking to her, she couldn't help but look around just to make sure that the girl was definitely talking to her. "H-Hello," Scareltt replied softly, looking down at her hands.

Shaking. Her hands were shaking again, of course. She balled her first, before looking back up to the girl, "Oh I know," Scarlett stated plainly, "I want to go, but it may be hard to have fun, I don't have any friends to hang out with," She said, looking away again for a few moments. This girl was probably talking to her just because she sat at the table with her. Scarlett knew nobody was really ever nice to her with out some sort of reason, but...she released her hands, small imprints from her finger nails left behind in her palms. Yet, they were still shaking. Geez, what a coward. Can't walk through the dorm without shaking, can't even talk someone either. Scarlett let out a small huff, a bit embarrassed by this, but, she had to at least try right? Looking back to the green girl, she smiled softly. "What about you? Aren't you going to hang out with your friends? I heard this festival is suppose to be a lot of fun," Scarlett said this, hoping to at least make some small talk, though neither one of them had introduced themselves. This girl probably already knew...but it was rude though to not tell someone your name. "I'm Scarlett by the way," She added, leaving her last name out of the equation, though the odds this girl didn't know who her father was, and in turn Scarlett herself, were slim.

Gazing up a couple of times, Aruka couldn't help but notice the girl's shiver. Was she really that nervous? Or maybe she knew about her quirk and was afraid of their proximity? Aruka couldn't help the ridiculous notion flowing through her mind as she continued eating. Her body was relaxed, gazing at her phone to the side. "Tempest, right? Aruka Datsukaeu." She simply responded, looking up toward the girl's eyes, before moving her attention back once more.

"Probably not, too busy." Aruka answered, attempting to avoid the question, a sad tinge to her moderate tone. "Anyway, seems like a festival would be a good place to make friends. People here aren't so bad." She noted without looking back at the girl. Aruka imagined the girl felt some of the students would judge her because of her father, and maybe she was right in thinking so, but staying here alone wouldn't help her. Even she knew of the irony in her own thoughts, but it was different for her, at least that was what Aruka continued to tell herself.

Of course this girl, no, Aruka, knew who she was. "Y-Yes," Scarelett answered, "Unfortunately." She hated her name, but her step father didn't legally adopt her so she could change it. And refuses to do so because, like pretty much everyone, he hates her and her father. Scarlett tried her best though, She doesn't want to follow inner father's footsteps, and refuses to, no matter what. Which is why she almost goes our of her way to avoid socializing. Just one incident where she looses her temper or says some mean comment, everyone assumes she's gonna be just like him. When Aruka told her the festival was a good place to make friends, Scarlett chuckled, "Yeah, you say that...but I've always have a hard time making friends and when I do...they leave pretty quickly. I know it's not a great way to live, all alone like that, but it's easier than getting my hopes up." She let the words hang in the air for a moment, before she rubbed the back of her neck, "Oh sorry, I didn't mean to go on like that." Aruka was still talking to her, still probably just filling what would be silence. Anyway, Scarlett, who had looked away briefly, laid her eyes on Aruka, She couldn't helping bring up her next question. "So, if you don't mind me asking, what's your Quirk?" She asked, before quickly adding, "It's fine if you don't want to answer, I was just curious."

That was fair. They all still didn't know each other that well. Hell, even being her roommate she still didn't know Aruka that well. The girl was pretty reclusive. Maybe these kind of outbursts were normal when pushed? Maybe the green beauty wasn't as calm and composed as she came off. Whatever, nothing she could do about it now. She'd just have to keep her distance in the future to make sure she doesn't set that landmine off again. "No, no. It's probably best to give her some space. Truthfully I don't know her that well either so probably not the best idea to keep p--" Her words were interrupted as a new face approached the duo.

Nilima? Transferred? Do people usually transfer a week into school? She glanced over at Fischer's reaction. It wasn't super obvious but she'd notice his intenseness the day they met. Turning her focus to the girl she flashed her a smile and stepped forward to take the extended hand. "Tokihana Ellion, you can call me Toki. Same class as him." She nodded over at the boy as she gently shook the new girls hand. "So transfer student, huh? What class did they put you in?" She let go of the girl's hand and took a step back to fall in line beside Fischer as she spoke. Transfer student or not it made sense they'd be mingling with a lot of new people today.

Kimi just nodded her head in response to Tsurei.
"If he's cool with you, I don't see why he can't stick around."
"Yeah...I guess so." Tsurei said alittle deflated.

"So, got a thing for our Tsurei, have ya.
Tsurei paled.
Oh god no. He's more of a colleague. Why is nobody on my side here?!
"Well it's nice to see Tsurei has friends. She has never opened up to anyone before. By the way my name is Fang, I'm one of her friends from home. Although I hear she has been performing well at whitegate. Also what's this about a haunted house?
Yes go ahead and rub in every little flaw about me and mock me for joining a hero school. They won't be able to detect the sarcasm but I know you enough to know when you are making fun of me.

Ears perking up at the girl's words, the unfortunate truth of her father's shadow clearly loomed over the girl, Aruka mulled over it. For her, becoming a hero was partially to show she wasn't like her own father, that his actions didn't change who she was, but she could only wonder if Scarlett had a similar outlook. As the girl finally changed the topic, Aruka's gazed shot up to meet her, her body pausing for a short moment, milk dripping from the full spoon that had been lifted half-way toward her mouth.

"Letting that hang over you won't help." Aruka noted in a neutral tone, bringing the spoon back up to her mouth, skipping over her question. "Having other heroes beside you will, though." She continued, finishing off her bowl, looking back at it. Her statement was thick with irony, how could she give advice on a matter she completely avoids herself? Then again, perhaps it was just easier than saying nothing. "This isn't school, don't worry so much." She noted plainly, trying to hide a slight sigh at the start of her sentence, before she got up to wash her dish. Kids were all too eager to have a go at anyone, for any reason, but this was Whitegate Academy, everyone was here for the same reason, and they all at least seemed serious about it. So why couldn't she follow her own advice? The thought ate at her.

Aruka didn't exactly say much, but, it oddly helped? The little comment about this not being school was kinda confused because yes, this was school. But not normal school, everyone was there for the same reason, maybe other would see that. Scarlett smiled softly, feeling a little better about today. So, she stood up. "I'll go and try to have fun then," She stated, slipping her nausea meds into her front pocket, while making sure her wallet and phone where in her back ones, before she gave Aruka a small wave as she left, heading outside to join the festival. ( Randomfella Randomfella )

Once she was outside however, it was a different story. Another wave of anxious ick washed over her, making Scarlett nearly turn around to go right back inside and hide. But no, she pinched her hand so she would focus, Scarlett was going to have a good time. And so, after a few minutes of flaming herself down, she finally went off to join the actual festival. Wandering a bit after joinung the crowd of people enjoying the festival, she didn't actually know what she wanted to do. Maybe she should get some food? Or play some games? Or just walk around for a but and decide once she hot a general idea of what was there? And upperclassmen handed her a pamphlet, which she briefly skimmed through before deciding she would go and grab some food. Afterall, she hadn't eaten yet today.

Nilima Clemens

Nilima's hand was grasped by the one girl she had walked up to, the boy on the other hand was somewhat stepped back. She gave a firm shake and Nilima did the same before letting go of Toki's hand. She gave a warm smile and said, "Nice to meet you both! I transferred here after moving and applying for this school, along with two others. This school was my top pick out of the three and I think I was kind of lucky to get in and put into the 1-A classroom." Nilima's eyes lit up after hearing Fischer say he was in the same classroom as her.

"Oh wow, you are in the same class too? I also assume you are in class 1-A Tokihan- I mean Toki." Nilima turned around to look at the fair taking place just a few feet away from here. "I think today was a great time to transfer in. So many games, snacks, and people to talk to, hopefully, I can meet more of my classmates during the fair. Could you two introduce me to them, if we see any?"

She turned back around and smiled, she then placed a hand inside her pocket that was located on the side of her romper. She fiddled around for a few seconds before pulling out a small black leather notebook. She scribbled down a little note. "I thought I write both your names down. Also gave you both your own two pages for notes." She showed the two people her book. The header of one page was Fisher and the next two pages Tokihana was written down. The pages even had cute little doodles of the two before Nilima.

"I like to write down notes, as it helps me remember otherwise I forget most things, including names. So sorry if I forget either of your names at some point!" She looked a bit flustered at the thought. "Now what were you two up to before I interrupted? If you don't mind me asking?"

Dante

For someone who had met up with a friend, Tsurei certainly didn't seem too.... enthusiastic.... No, she seemed to almost physically deflate. Was he just imagining things? He flashed Ryu a look, a silent inquiry. Dante wasn't exactly the most well-adjusted person, so maybe he was reading too much into things, but Tsurei definitely seemed out of sorts. He hoped maybe his roommate would be a bit more socially adept and could make better sense of it than Dante could.

Of course, Rebecca was her usually friendly and bubbly self. If anything was off, it was lost on her entirely...

For now, he'd keep his thoughts to himself... Odds are, he was just being paranoid, anyway. The guy seemed friendly enough, at least. Yeah, it was just his usual distrust for new people... That had to be it. He didn't want to rain on everyone's good time, after all...

"Well, it looks like our first stop is the Haunted House." Dante conceded with a chuckle, keeping his concerns to himself. He knew as excited as Revy was, there'd be no talking her into something else. Granted, with her Quirk, she'd probably be better at scaring people than the actual performers...

ClaudiaChicken, she was fine. Usual cooked means of receiving protein were fine. She had once thought of chugging protein, but that was once. After that, she developed some sort of aversion towards powdered drinks after downing a particularly disgusting drink without mixing the powder properly. It might have been one of mother’s vile Chinese medicines. She hadn't entertained that thought for a long time, and now that Stella mentioned it, she did recall seeing chocolate-flavoured protein shakes online. Maybe she should give those a shot. It’d definitely taste better than usual protein shakes anyway. “No, we’re not heading to the gym. I just realised I’m exhausted from cramming the whole night,” she said, just to fill in the gaps of the conversation as they walked. It was not a whole lie. She could power through her exhaustion to fit in some training, but she refused to let Stella burn herself out. “I’m not some kind of gym rat, Cain. I don't gorge myself on fitness products. Not when I can have an actual meal.” She flicked her hair behind her shoulders with a dismissive wave of her hand. “I’m good with whatever meat’s available. Even if it is probably heated preserved foods.”

She looked upwards when she heard a window open, and caught sight of Emvi peering out from it. She didn't seem to have noticed them, and leapt out of the window. Claudia folded her arms, watching Emvi recover from her leap. This was not the first time she had done this. She absorbed the impact well, and knew exactly where to jump. Her form needed work, but it was serviceable enough if she just wanted to take a shortcut, rather than go out, go by the stairs, and go through another door. “Nice of you to drop in.” Was that a pun? Did she inadvertently throw out a pun without knowing? She did not react to it, choosing instead to maintain her stone-faced demeanour. “Great. Now that we’re all here, shall we get a move on? I haven't gotten a bite to eat yet, and Stella needs her own nutritions. Let’s hit the food stalls, post-haste.

As "fun" as a haunted house could seem, I don't get how it's supposed to scare me. I've seen monsters kill innocents, heroes and villains die. My quirk alone is more terrifying than a haunted house could dream of. If they knew what I was capable of, and what I had done, who would still be there? Would they all leave?

These shadow freaks will attack the festival. But they'll recognize me? If they recognize me, what happens to me? Nobody would want to talk to me anymore. They will recognize me. There's no doubt they would if they saw me. They won't recognize fang. I was the one who fought them.

Fang motioned to Dante "Can I talk to you in private?"

"I know you seem uneasy about me, but I promise I'm a good person. Can you take care of Tsurei for me? I need to know she can stay at this school with people she can trust. Can you do that for me? You seem like a nice guy. I'm asking as a friend of hers. I can tell she's not exactly being social at this school

Bella Looked around taking in the games and stuff as she did. Jumping out of windows like that, people with physical Quirks really were a scary bunch.

"Jeez, mom, no need to worry so much." Deciding to not pester Emvi over her entrance, Stella instead elected to tease Claudia a bit. "I'm not really sure what a gym rat is, but you're sounding a whole lot like a soccer-mom right now." Or maybe a doting uncle, with that pun of hers.

And now she was imagining Claudia in flannel with a beard. Bad thought. Bad thought.

"That aside, you're uh, you're not exactly wrong. I usually snack while I'm working, but uh..." Last night, she'd forgotten. She was pretty sure she'd taken a bag of chips and a soda into the workshop with her, but... At least one of those got emptied into a plant, and she wasn't particularly sure what happened to the other one. "...The vending machine ate my cash, so I got annoyed and held off." Lying again, especially right in front of Emvi, was definitely raising all sorts of bad flags, but this one was perfectly little and white. Mostly, she just didn't want to get mom'd on by Claudia anymore. Even if it was kind of cute, it was also a little embarrassing.

Er, not in that way.

"Anyway. Let's get going, yeah? At least if one of the vendors steals my money, you two can beat them up, right?"

- - -
Walking through the Whitegate's bustling stalls, Stella had to admit that the festival was... Nice. Not that she'd been expecting the contrary, but she'd never really been the type for these sorts of events. She wasn't sure if it was the lack of pushy bombshells, or if it was just because a Hero School Festival was more in the range of her interests than a normal one, but it just felt more, uh, more cozy than other ones. The usual (rigged) carni games were present, but so were a few more interesting displays. Support students showing off their inventions, Hero students showing off their powers, Teachers trying to reign in the chaos.

Support students showing off their inventions.

Basically, her interests were being pandered to. But as much as she just wanted to dive right into those lovely, pandery stalls, her stomach grumbling was enough to remind her that she had some more immediate concerns.

"Right then! Is there anything you guys are harshing for? I'm thinking of uh... Finger food, you know? Stuff we can carry around with us. Pizza, burgers... Ah..." She wasn't exactly sure what kind of food Emvi and Claudia were into, but she could take a guess. Emvi's trashcan was enough of an indication of her eating habits being not too dissimilar from her own, easy and greasy, and Claudia mentioned that she just wanted mean, so...

"Maybe fried chicken? There's gotta be a stall around her somewhere selling something at least a little similar."

"H...h... haunted house?" She muttered looking rather terrified at the idea as Rebecca seemed to press the idea. She was even more surprised as others seemed at least interested in it, including Tsurei's suspicious friend inquiring about it. She wasn't the type to really get the concept of haunted houses. It seemed like it would be far too predictable of a place to go if you really wanted to be scared about something. How was some horror enthusiast suppose to be taken by surprise when they went in a location where the notion of jump scares was a given. Still she looked quite timid about the idea of going anywhere near such a spooky place.

"I... nnn... if... if you all want..." She muttered shortly after Dante helped to push the Haunted house further. She would have to deal with it whether she wanted to or not. It made more sense with her to stay with others then to try and branch off to do her own thing. She felt more comfortable around others at the moment. Being alone would make it stand out more in her own mind, something a shy girl like herself wouldn't likely be fond of having to deal with attention focused solely on herself.

Interacting with Toki and Nilima Xel Xel Zaxs Zaxs

The young soldier listened to their back and forth, still analyzing the situation. Both of these people were unknown to him. While Fischer didn't feel threatened, there was still too many unknown variables. Fischer trusted his gut instinct. It had never led him astray before.

Still. He forced himself to relax a bit more. While he did have a sense that something was out of place, he couldn't directly attribute it to these two. No point worrying. Yet.

Instead, Fischer turned his attention to the little memo pad Nilima was showing them. The doodles were a bit silly, but the overall idea was a good one.

He remained silent as the two chatted, but they both seemed like pleasant people. And he relearned Toki's name, which would help make things less awkward in the near future, when he would inevitably have to call her. Now he would have to say "hey you", which was never a fun road to walk down.

She passed a bunch of food stalls, some of which caught her eye, which caused her to stop for a few seconds. As she lead the group along she kept looking over the exact directions towards the haunted house, seemed like they were using a potion of training ground C, where they had done their team battles the week before as the grounds for the haunted house which mad sense with how many rooms that place had.

She passed auditorium where the band had been setting up and she got a glance over at them, all dressed in these wacky, almost villainous costumes, maybe it was some kind of gimmick. "you guys want to go see them later on right?" She said looking back at Dante and Ryuu as she continued along on her little trek. She stopped out side of the training grounds and looked at it. They had creepy decorations on the outside and there were a couple of people waiting at the door. The line up was also small which meant they would get in quick. "Ready to go in?" At this point Becca was basically jumping up and down with joy for this event like she was going to burst.

For better or worse (though hopefully for the better), things weren't quite as awkward with Stella around as she would have expected. It was all for the best that the two just forget about what had transpired between them, at least as far as Emvi was concerned. After all, it was...such a small thing, wasn't it? First day jitters; that's all the incident amounted to.

As the trio strode through the fair, sometimes speaking, sometimes not, Emvi's thoughts displaced them quite far away from Stella's transgression; it was all a new experience to her, as celebrations of this sort weren't something that she associated to something mundane like...school. Not that Whitegate was at all mundane, but, well, most places didn't have the funding necessary to put together a celebration of this grandeur. It was meant for the students to enjoy, of course, but at the same time the girl couldn't help but see it as something resembling a school's display of power all the same.

Even so, it's probably best that we all take the time to relax. The world's gonna need us eventually...isn't it?

Being depended on was an odd feeling, and Emvi considered herself lucky when a distraction came in the form of Stella's question. "...Eh? Oh, well..." Crap. Even though she was told to leave her food alone, she'd gone and finished it anyway. Would it be rude to say that she wasn't hungry? There was no way, right? It was such a simple thing, plus Claudia had seen her eat some of her food in the first place anyway.

Wait! The perfect compromise! "Ah, well...sure! I can always take some for later, I guess." Yes! Solid, Em, super solid! Oddly pleased with herself, Emvi offered an enthusiastic nod, along with a brisk, outward breath. "Or we can always come back later, I-I just want to see what the rest of the fair has to offerrrr..." She trailed away as if her mind had frozen mid-gear, something just beyond the tent catching her eye. She stared off, seemingly into space for several moments, before her eyes widened, a mixture of sparkling wonderment and an intense glare taking over her features. "Is...I-IS THAT--THAT BOOTH--" Her hand shot out, pointing just through the open spaces of the food tent to a colorful series of stands just behind. The game on the screen, to anyone who followed videogames, was unmistakable.

"T-THAT'S HYPER HERO RUMBLE FIFTEEN! BU-BUT IT'S SUPPOSED TO BE IN ALPHA, NO ONE'S HEARD ANYTHING ABOUT IT FOR MONTHS! THEY HAVE...A WHOLE BOOTH? A WHOLE BOOTH OF PLAYABLE COPIES?!" For a moment, there, the girl seemed as if she was about to faint from sheer amazement, yet this was quickly contrasted by the sheer speed with which she disappeared towards the show stands, completely forgetting about food in its entirety.

Dante

It seemed that the boy had noticed Dante's suspicious glances. He never really was good at hiding that face he made. He'd adopt something of a "resting bitch face". The emotion would drain from his face and he'd stare almost through whoever he was looking at. It was an almost robotic, apathetic look that seemed to be constantly, mechanically judging whoever his gaze rested on. He realized he hadn't had a reason to don this particular mask since he decked Eric on the first day.

I know you seem uneasy about me, but I promise I'm a good person.

If this boy was attempting to placate Dante, that was a lousy start. Nine out of ten times, someone who had to go out of their way to claim to be a good person really wasn't. It was as though they subconsciously had to build their cover, so they'd go out of their way to voice how nice they were, when in truth they were angling to stab you in the back.

He listened as Fang continued. From his words, it seemed entirely like Fang was just trying to look out for Tsurei. Still, Dante couldn't shake the lingering unease he felt. Probably just paranoia. It's not like Fang had done anything to give him reason to keep his guard up, yet he still couldn't shake the feeling that Fang was not what he appeared. Even now, his index fingers traced over the cool metal of the rings on his thumbs.

Dante shook his head, trying to dispel the negative thoughts in his head. "I can't say I'm exactly a social butterfly myself" Dante finally answered. "But Tsurei is my classmate. I wouldn't be able to call myself even an aspiring hero if I didn't take care of my classmates." He concluded. Their meeting seemed to end after that, as the group followed after Rebecca towards the Haunted House.

He nodded in affirmation when Revy asked if they wanted to see the band. However, seeing how they were dressed gave Dante yet another uneasy feeling in the pit of his stomach.

I really need to stop expecting the worst out of everything... The costumes are probably just their gimmick, like KISS or something... I really need to calm the fuck down... I can't keep chasing boogeymen waiting in the shadows... Just because Fang gave me a bad feeling doesn't mean I should expect EVERYONE to be a damn villain....

He took a breath to calm himself down as they made it to the Haunted House. He let Revy's enthusiasm drown out the unease he was feeling. He took a moment to turn his rings on his palm, so the concealed blade wouldn't be facing his palms. Last thing he wanted to do was get spooked and reflexively go after one of the performers.

"I'm ready. Just don't go running off without us." Dante smirked at her, pushing his concerns to the back of his mind. Today was a day for having fun, not a day for barking at shadows...

She released the girl's hand and allowed her own to fall back to her side. "You're in 1-A too? Huh... Well, if we run into any of our classmates I'll be sure to point them out to you." A simple request that was easily fulfilled. Toki looked around in search of some of their classmates. She was sure the others would have left for the fair not long after her and Fischer, so they'd probably meet up at some point. Her focus was drawn back to the girl as she was shown a notebook, her expression blank as she stared at the little doodles. Not something she had any experience with, but to each their own.

"We were just on our way to the fair to check things out. You're welcome to join us if you want. Would make pointing out our classmates easier too." Can't exactly show who their classmates were if they parted ways and she had no real desire to just go back to the dorms. So with her invitation out there she started making her way towards the festivities. "So, Nilima..." That really was an odd name to pronounce. "If we're going to be spending the next year together may as well learn about each other. So what're some of your hobbies? Besides heroing..." She looked over her shoulder as she spoke. Fischer was the strong silent type, so she didn't know much about him and she'd probably only get a 'yes ma'am' or something if she asked. But the new girl seemed like a chatty kathy so she could probably learn about her. If nothing else it'd prevent an awkward silence from descending on them again.

Location: School Festival - Haunted House Line
As the group got into line, Kimi seemed to cower a bit away behind looking a bit uncertain about the whole 'haunted house' idea. As simple as the decorations where it was perhaps the thought of what was inside that would be bringing Kimi the most dread. The person right ahead of them in line however seemed quite excited. While she wasn't bouncing about like Becca it seemed as if just sort of invisible restraint might be the only thing keeping her from doing so. Her eyes fixate down at her phone, fiddling with it with a wide grin on her face.

The girl's blonde hair was kept tied back with a bow in a pony tail. Her sweatshirt held to her body managing to look quite elegant despite the more casual wear, the makeup she wore, while not too overdone helping to emphasize the care she put towards her looks. She seemed to be the definition of a 'popular girl' as most would view her in a normal school, although her general expression seemed almost contradictory to it. She had been with a few others from 1-B before, though she had elected to give the Haunted House another go. How could a horror fanatic pass up a chance? She wasn't in the least bit scared the first time she went through but it didn't stop her excitement to see what various attractions they put up to scare the visitors.

The teens head turned back, noticing the girl Rebecca as she seemed so thrilled. It only seemed to make it that much harder for the girl to hold in her own excitement. Her expression seemed to change a bit, shifting from that of an excited child to being a bit more proper trying to hide it in a bit. She wanted to come out more formally to what was effectively her 'rival class' so to speak though even with her restraint the lure of a haunted house was far too much even for the normally quite relaxed Lauri to control.

"Ah, hello! You guys are from Class 1-A aren't you? Glad to see you got great tastes in attractions! Nothing says fun like a haunted house after all! My name is Lauri Thompson from class 1-B, it's nice to meet you!" She spoke in a rather upbeat and friendly tone, directing most of her attention towards Rebecca who seemed to share her excitement for the attraction. Her eyes shifted quickly to Dante having caught him speaking last before skimming over to the rather meek Kimi seemingly hiding between the group before finding Tsurei, with the two boys Ryuu and Fang covering the back of what seemed to be a small group. She couldn't recall fang at all as being part of 1-A, though she figured there were many she probably hadn't really caught sight of before, assuming he was part of their class as well.

She had thought that maybe someone would see the slightly confused girl walking around all by herself and say something, even just briefly, but no! That was a win right? So instead, she focused on the stalls. Her trust stop was food, and since she wasn't feeling the greatest (no surprise there) she stick with some popcorn and a cold water. It was okay though, the popcorn was tasty, and she water was, wrll, ice cold water. Nothing really special there. After she had gotten those two things, she stopped at a few different games booths. She wasn't allowed to do one based on her quirk, and the complaints of one of her former 1-C classmates, so that was a bust. The nest one though was just knocking some things off a shelf to get a prize. From that, she won a stuffed bear. A cute teddy bear with a little purple bow, she was actually very happy with. And she was glad to have won something, cause the next few stalls were totally rigged.

After a little more walking, she passed by the Haunted house, pausing briefly considering if she should join the growing line. Maybe it would be fun? She actually enjoyed haunted houses and spooky trails, they were fun! But, she caught a glare from.ome of the students, which quickly changed her mind. And they probably were just glaring in general, a lot of people did that typically. But, she moved on anyway, taking a place in a short line of a game booth nearby. Scarlett really had to get better at this, she should really try to make some friends, or at least one? She sighed, running her hands over the teddy bears soft fur. Maybe...maybe She was just to much of a coward to do anything good for herself.

Ryuu was stood up in the back of the group as they approached the haunted house as Becca jumped for joy in the front. Some how he felt that she would be doing most of the scaring on their trip through rather than the actual attractions inside. Ryuu sighed a little thinking of the prospect, in all honesty Becca would probably scare the people working in the haunted house more than they would scare her, and with her quirk and the likeliness of them having low lighting in the building it wasn't hard for Ryuu to imagine Becca doing exactly that.

As he walked towards the building the mention of the band had made him look around. He looked and caught a glance just as Becca had. They did look kind of villainous and for some reason Ryuu couldn't put his finger on the name of the band, in fact he never heard of a band that even dressed up in costumes like that. There were some older bands that he listened to from years ago that had worn costumes and make up or masks, there were even some that did it these days, they were probably just new or somehow in the sea of bands in New York he over looked a band popular enough to play a gig at white gate academy.

Arriving to the haunted house Ryuu looked around a bit. Looked like not many people were keen on going to the haunted house this early in the morning, most probably wanted to wait till it was a bit darker or something for the thrill factor. As he waited in line with the group one of the girls in front of them introduced her self to the group as a student in class 1-B. Ryuu had wondered what their class was like, so he shuffled to the front where the girl was. "Well I don't know if all of us will enjoy this haunted house as much as our resident horror fanatic" He said shooting a glance at the bouncing bundle of excitement named Rebecca, "But to be fair a few of us her have pretty horrific quirks" He said as he took of his sun glasses and a gash opened in his face and bones grew out from it creating this Japanese style oni mask. He split off the mask from his face and held it in his hand, "Ryuu by the way" He said offering the girl his free hand to shake.
