Ora gave Crispin a resolute nod, relief in her eyes, before turning back the way they came. She didn't hesitate to reach out and take his hand as they wove through the opposing tide of drow, and a voice at the back of her mind told her that Lassard would not take him from her, not if she had anything to say about it.

When they reached the house and the council, Ora realized that the others had been able to visit the armory, seeing new weapons and protection on several. She frowned, remembering she was down a sword and completely without arrows. One sword and her hunting knife would have to do- the council, Desrick close behind, was already moving toward their foes.
She wished her heart had sank at the sight of mages. That the forethought to send invisible magic-wielders, ones who could destroy the entire city with a series of words, was surprising to her. But as Crow reminded them, Evereach wasn't keen to take risks they didn't need to for the sake of an honorable battle.
Ora didn't wait long to join the fray. She reached down and pulled her knife, and threw it at one of the remaining mages. It wasn't meant for flying, so its wobbled a bit, but it served its purpose. The mage had to duck away from it, and when he turned back to face them, Ora was upon him, making a series of quick jabs with her dominant hand to incapacitate him. As the mage fell, Ora was infinitely glad that Azaria had been dragging her out of bed for training. The dwarf didn't dwell on her victory long, readying herself for the next advance almost before the mage stilled.
