Hello there. If you're here, then I'm sure the title intrigued you in one way or another.
Here's a TL;WR for you:
I am looking to roleplay an older (25 y.o.) aroace Ryuko Matoi within a post-canon AU that provides opportunities for action, angst, fluff and all that good stuff. With canon characters.
Emphasis on Mako, Satsuki and potentially Senketsu, but everyone else is a go too. That said, I'd prefer allies over enemies.
Still here? Well then, allow me to elaborate.
ME:
- Of age, almost 30, 15+ years of RP experience (forums, tumblr, groupchats, DMs).
- Ace butch lesbian, any pronouns.
- Literary style, multipara-novella, 3rd person. C2 English, work with writing for a living.
- I swear a lot, so does my character. And my timezone is weird, GMT+3.
- I think about characters for way too long and take them way too seriously (not in a "I think they're real" way, in a "Do you know this one effed up moment from a canon CD drama that was never fully translated into English??? *w*" way. Y'know. Ask me to infodump and I WILL.
- DMs or threads doesn't really matter.
As I'm sure you can guess by now, I also take KlK and its themes (identity, bodily autonomy, fascism undertones, societal outcasts, etc etc) in the most serious and emotional way, but hardly have anyone to yell about it with. Sigh. Again, feel free to prompt for more.
WHO I'D LIKE TO PLAY WITH:

- Someone who's also down for talking KlK seriously.
- Someone who's okay (or good even) with not playing sexual NSFW (which I know is important for many people and I won't be able to provide).
- But is, however, 18+. Preferably 20+ even.
- Big replies, literary style, all that shtick. Thinks that 'walls of text' in RPs are fun. I can hardly control the way I always end up writing a lot and I don't want that experience to be awkward for either of us.
- As mentioned, canons only. OC players I love you and I do play with you on other platforms, but I'm desperately looking for more canons.
- I do not care about how your gender correlates with your character's as long as you play them well!
WHAT'S THE PLOT:
SPECIFICS HEADCANONS AND ABILITIES:
8 years post-finale news begin to circulate about some humans trying to locate and interact with the remaining Fibers that haven't yet gone irreversibly dormant. Rumors and legends of kamuis and goku uniforms became dreams of greater power for some, but the fools mostly end up being controlled, "worn" and fed on.
Ryuko, being the last independent and fully powerful Life-Fiber creature on Earth now that literally everyone else of her "kind" has perished in the anime finale, sets out to travel around the world and knock some sense into those morons. In the process she's tapping back into her powers again more and more, as well as absorbing the fibers she destroys (as per 25th episode OVA, that's something she can canonically do on her own) and growing stronger from it.
This setup provides such questions and topics as: Who waits at home? Who sometimes travels with and what's that like? Do Satsuki and ex-Nudist Beach sponsor it all? How long before Ryuko's struggles with her own humanity and the fear of being just like her mother rear their ugly heads again? Is Senketsu still somewhere up there in the Cosmos and could they talk again if she evolves far enough? How much patching up do you need if your wounds close up immediately? So on and so forth.

SPECIFICS HEADCANONS AND ABILITIES:
- As mentioned before, I very much headcanon Ryuko as aroace and I'll gladly talk about it to you if you're curious, however this particular post is already huge enough. This does not mean ships are not a possibility, it means that I'd happily explore them queerplatonically. I'm originally a RyuKetsu stan, but RyuMako also has my heart.
- Slightly shorter hair, more red strands slowly showing at the inner layer. Scars left on her chest from episode 20, at the back of her head from the fiber infusion in infancy and at her left wrist where the bloodletting glove used to sit.

REGARDING IMMORTALITY: By the nature of Life-Fibers canon and the extent to which Ryuko is using them in this AU, she’s almost immortal. You can kill her if you successfully sever her head off on both sides simultaneously (like scissors) with a weapon made of hardened Life-Fibers (canonically only two exist, but I concede the ability to make more to REVOCS-assosiated characters). And there’s a possibility of her bleeding out completely, but she’s been shown to have unnatural amounts of blood in her, much like Nui and Ragyo, so it’ll take A LOT.
WHAT IN PARTICULAR I'D LIKE TO PLAY:
"Particular" is the wrong word here because I mostly believe in setting up a premise and then winging it. Or brainrotting together. However!
First and foremost if you're still here and interested, I'd like to leave you the full freedom in terms of where your chosen character is 8 years later. Is Satsuki a businesswoman or did she decide she had enough of that scene for a lifetime, is Mako with Ryuko or maybe with Gamagori (and besties with Ryuko), IS Senketsu out there and COULD he potentially come back somehow... throw it at me.
The ideas that I DO have and would like to play or build upon:
- Mako is back at home and it's a Whole Thing whenever Ryuko drags her feet back from being hell knows where for hell knows how long. Shenanigans ensue. Maybe they're "catching up on girly things" shenanigans, maybe they're "holy shit you need to EAT" shenanigans, maybe they're just chilling on the couch, etc.
- Mako WAS back at home, but then she decided that she misses Ryuko and just crossed half the globe to appear at her side with zero warning. Ryuko would have a heart attack, but her heart is Fibers and also she's used to it.
- Mako straight up came at yet another trip with Ryuko and now both helps and keeps Ryuko alert 'cause holy shit what if anything HAPPENS TO HER SHE'S GOING TO MURDER A BITCH--
- Big one: a huge fight goes super bad somehow, despite the regeneration and the humongous amount of blood in her body Ryuko still manages to almost bleed out to death. Mako finds her like this, and, being the most logical being on the planet, suggests that being "like Senketsu" Ryuko should also be able to suck blood to get better. And then immediately demands to be bitten, much to Ryuko's dazed horror

- Ryuko loves to come back without much of a warning and enter her house through a window instead of the door for the sole purpose of annoying her sister. Because bickering still feels familiar and fun.
- Feeling unjustly responsible for the remnants of their mother's crime, Satsuki takes an active role in keeping Ryuko's evolving abilities under frequent examination, providing her with resources and such.
- Satuski to the rescue! She might not wear a kamui anymore, but she still has her Bakuzan and fierce will. And you just don't fucking touch her overpowered baby sister whom she spent 17 years getting back.
- Any sisterly bonding shenanigans.
- Bonus: cute things like an exploration of that one old fanart where the plush pig Ryuko had as a kid was originally Satsuki's and that somehow comes out.
SENKETSU:
- All those years Ryuko keeps talking to him out of habit, until ONE DAY after she starts using her fibers again she actually hears him TALKING BACK?! What do you MEAN you've been hearing me the entire time?
- Some elaborate scheme to get him back? You don't wear your school uniform again, sure, but as you might've noticed this AU doesn't exactly follow the growing-up metaphor of the original too much.
- No scheme, he just comes back somehow, in whatever form that might be, and jumpscares the poor woman who didn't even dream of it at that point.
- There's also a thing I have in mind for the end of this AU where they kinda merge a bit, but that's a whole other story you're once again free to ask for.
Sooo, uh, yeah, hit me up. This definitely feels like a shot in the dark, but I'll be damned if I don't try.
