The World
Soul Eater is an anime that takes place in a world very similar to our own world with a few minor modifications that add much more fun, much more potential for chaos and much more magic. In this world, an individual can be defined by a description of their soul, and there exist people with the ability to see souls. Furthermore, a person's soul can give them the ability to transform into a weapon that can be wielded by another person - a meister.
Death Weapon Meister Academy capitalizes on this potential partnership between two beings and is run by the Grim Reaper Death, himself. Her weapons and meisters are trained to hunt evil souls - those that have strayed from the path of humanity and are on the verge of becoming Kishin, the greatest evil there is.
Of course, students have more goals along the way. The weapon and meister pair that is able to collect 99 kishin egg souls (souls on the verge of becoming kishin) and one witch's soul are said to be able to create a weapon powerful enough to be used by Lord Death himself. That weapon earns the title of Death Scythe and is forever more written into history.

The Story
Our story began on a typical class day at the DWMA. Professor Hiro Mitsaki was lazy as he usually is, the lesson was fairly boring as it usually is and Lord Death was visiting class as he usually is. No, you're right. Lord Death doesn't usually visit class. That's the first oddity. It only compounds from there.
However, even that does not complete the complication of the situation. The two students who were late to class also seem to have been infected with the now spreading madness and a charging madman poses a threat as well. Professor Hiro Mitsaki is still with the class and he is providing some direction although ultimately it will not be enough alone. Each student must choose whether they feel they are up to the fight.

Our story begins in the classroom of the DWMA. Class is being taught by professor Hiro Mitsaki with help from a special guest - Lord Death himself. As the students begin to pour into the classroom, some small encounters ensue. Igor entered in his typical fashion, running over his meister Honey Mitskuni which seemed to have set off Eden Kizuna who erupted by screaming at everyone to shut up. The situation was settled by Eden's brother Maxwell (Axel) Kizuna although Ivy Landvik did not want to let the situation go.
Fortunately, further chaos ensued before a fight could break out. Soon after Hiro began teaching a class session on Soul Resonance, class was interrupted by two tardy students - Keziah Swan and Grace Taghan - who claimed that the city had turned to chaos. Lord Death led all of the students outside to investigate the situation. The conclusion: the city has been infected with madness. As Lord Death left to prepare the school, Professor Hiro Mitsaki was left to organize the students in a manner most effective to deal with the situation at hand.
While the group was being charged by a maddened citizen, madness consumed Keziah Swan and Grace Taghen as well and all the maddened ones began screaming "Spread the word." In this turn of events, Hiro has selected a few stronger meisters to challenge their maddened opponents with the stipulation that they try not to hurt anyone; those infected with madness are not necessarily people who ought to be killed. A few students have stepped up in the given situation. Deryn Renoir was the first to wander into the city and start helping the civilians find a way out of the chaos only to encounter a child running through the city with a flaming torch. Thus, the city began to catch fire. After some interesting interventions, the city is now being aided by Jessyka, Skylar, Warren, Freyja and Samuel in addition to Deryn.
Meanwhile, back on the steps to the DWMA, the maddened citizen has been knocked down after taking quite a few punches from Eden "Prideslinger" Kizuna and Maxwell "Axel" Kizuna. Malacai "Grave" and Isaac "Lion" joined by the currently weaponless Tasha have stepped up to fight Keziah and "Axel" Grace Taghan, much to Erica (Grace's twin sister)'s dismay.

The DWMA is always accepting new students despite the current situation at hand. Anyone can jump in at any time and we are always happy to work with new people! You don't need to know the anime to join as we are creating a world that won't likely interact with canon too much if at all.
