Advice/Help Seeking RPers for specific roles.

So, I've been searching for someone to take on a very specific role for a much larger RP story I'm getting ready to launch. Some little bits have happened here and there, but without this crucial character role filled, it's stagnated. Can anyone offer advice on how to approach this dilemma?

I'd recommend laying out all the information someone would need to know, here &/or in the Recruitment forum, such as the setting of the RP, the story so far, the other roles, and the specifics of this role and what would be needed from whoever was playing it, then interested players would have the information they needed to throw their hat into the ring, as it were.

I also run a roleplay that relies on writers to fill character roles. I recommend preparing in advance before the release of the story by advertising the roleplay! I also prefer to gather a bit more writers that necessary who can participate with less crucial roles and are willing to step up in case a vital writer leaves the roleplay. That way, if a spot opens up, there is someone willing to fill it.

Easier said than done. Been trying a lot of different methods to find RPers, but there’s evidently either a distinct lack of interest, or I’m not reaching the right crowds.

Hi!

Sooooo like have you asked other rpers that actually joined how they might be able to fill that gap? Like instead of 1 significant role break it down into 3 or 4 parts that others can pick up as 2nd charries or npcs. I mean if it's that important then maybe you could play a surrogate NPC that is in the BG for now until the role is filled

Cuz like as it stands Imma be honest here it rubs me the wrong way that ONE charrie out of the whole roster can hamstring and delay an RP like that. Like no hate just speaking from experience and what you explained so far. Cuz from a rpers pov if that one crucial charries rper leaves it don't bode well.

Where are you advertising? And, if worse comes to worst, could you play the crucial role?

It IS easier said that done, but I know it's possible because I did it and am actively doing it. I apologize if I said something unhelpful, though.

If it’s any help, taking on pre designed roles and filling requests is actually a great pleasure of mine. I like the challenge of completing someone else’s idea, makes me feel like an actor.
