Genevieve bit down on her cheek when Alastor asked if everything was alright. She was going to lie, of course, and prevent Alastor from knowing what was going on. “Everything is alright.” She finally spoke after brief hesitation. The cat knew why he was asking if everything was alright... she always seemed so somber, dazed, and unhappy. But still, she was persistent on keeping her death a secret because she wouldn’t know how the others would react to that. Her fingers twitched, tempted to close the door and be left alone again but something stopped her from doing so. “I’m doing fine, don’t worry about me.” Gene insisted with Alastor in hopes that it would get him to leave her alone. Genevieve went through a death that Alastor didn’t have to go through and she envied him. Even if she didn’t know how he died, Gene envied him. Like how she envied the rich people who never caught the plague during that time and it was just the poor people getting the plague. Her envy and jealousy got her sent down here all because she was envious of the healthy rich people.

———————————

Curiously, Charlie listened on to what he was saying and what got him sent down here. And his reason for being down here did not sway her opinion about him and she still thought he was nice. “You’re still a nice guy in my view. Nothing will ever change that. Besides, I think that demons can have a chance at being good and redeeming themselves of what got them down here.” Charlie was finally hinting at why she was in a hotel and she hoped that Max would agree with her unlike most demons who thought that redemption was silly and impossible at that. But since she found herself trusting Max, she knew she wouldn’t have to worry about him being snobby or rude to her.

Unsurprisingly, she Gene hesitated, just as Alastor expected. She then did exactly what he expected her to do again, when she told him what he could tell was a lie. Of course she wasn't doing alright, not only was that made obvious how she acted before, but now, as she hid behind a door and hesitated with a lie she likely told for hundreds of years, it was blatantly obvious. Alastor, of course, had still told Charlie that he'd make himself useful and help her with the hotel, even if he thought it wasn't possible. "Are you sure?" He began, briefly musing on how odd it was, that he was now helping another demon, something that, beyond for the purpose of wanting entertainment, he never did, but a promise was a promise. "Its far easier to deal with something like this if you speak your mind, rather than keeping it all bottled in like a broken dam about to burst...and its far less fun to see than that too."

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Max let out a soft breath he didn't know he was holding. It was actually the first time in a very long while that he was truly concerned with how someone viewed him in a long while, which made that feeling of anticipation and unease before so much worse. He hesitated though, when she suggested redemption. It wasn't that he thought she was wrong, although it was hard to tell if she was really right about it or if that was just some guess that someone might still be paying attention to what happened down here. "I...Well I mean, maybe you're right...but I don't know if I can. I'm not here because I was some sort greedy bastard or an gluttonous over-eater...I killed a lot of people. I'm not doubting that redemption is possible, just if its possible for me." He looked over at her, trying to give her a reassuring smile. "I'll still trust that you can do it though..."

Genevieve took note that Alastor was being very persistent with this. She didn’t think that she would be able to keep up her common lie for much longer. Her fluffy tail twitched and curled around her waist very tightly. “Of course I’m sure.” She said insistently whilst sweat prickled at her fur from nervousness at this situation. Her nose twitched nervously as her when gaze went down to looking at the carpeted floor. What should she say? Gene had a lot of things on her chest and she kept her emotions bottled up inside of her and sooner or later it was going to burst if she kept quiet. Gene has kept quiet for over 300 years. From her death in 1665 to now she had been quiet about her emotions. “I... I’m not alright actually. But I don’t really think you would want to know.” Genevieve finally caved in and muttered the sentences under her breath whilst avoiding eye contact with Alastor. It would be hard for her to explain everything to Alastor so she was reluctant to speak anymore on the subject.

———————————-

“Redemption is possible for everyone who wants it.” Charlie was insistent that demons who truly wanted redemption would get it eventually. She still believed that Max had a chance at redemption... if he wanted it of course. Charlie merely kept on believing that every demon should be given a chance at getting themselves redeemed. “We’ll just have to see once we get to the hotel.” Charlie finally spoke once more before continuing the walk to the hotel. She was getting hungry by now and hopefully she could eat something real soon. “So erm... are you hungry?” Charlie asked as she simply changed the topic subject to something more happy and cheerful.

Alastor had started to leave her be when she said she was sure, deciding that perhaps it would take a little longer and a little more pushing to get an answer, but he stopped in his tracks when he heard her change her mind, and he turned back to face her immediately. He observed her again, and although it was hard to tell her emotions overall due to her hiding her body, her expression had changed, and on top of that, she refused to even meet his eyes. He was getting somewhere, and sooner than he had expected too. "Nonsense! I wouldn't mind hearing about your problems, why you're here or any other deep dark secrets you have!" He stopped for a moment, thinking quietly before he continued. "Although it'd be easier if you weren't hiding behind a door the entire time that you'll be telling me."

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Max just nodded softly, as he tried to think of what would that even entail for him, or more importantly, if that was something he even wanted. How would he have to change, if it was even dependent on that for him, and how much of himself would he lose in the process if thats what he had to do. It was a tough question to be sure, and one that he couldn't answer no matter how hard he thought on that matter. At the very least though, he would let Charlie try, if that is really what she wanted, even if he doubted the possibility for himself. He looked over to Charlie again, and then nodded. "Yeah, I could go for some food...I haven't had any in a while and I doubt any of what I had on me was brought with. What do you want to get?"

Genevieve was still very much reluctant to even speak about everything. She dreaded Alastor’s reaction to it and that’s what worried her greatly. Slowly, she nudged the door open so she wasn’t hiding behind it anymore and now her fluctuating breathing was visible for Alastor to see. That’s what she wanted to hide since fluctuating breathing was a sign of anxiety. Hesitantly, her eye gaze went up so she could look at Alastor. “I...” Gene intentionally paused her sentence so she could collect herself fully. “I’m just unhappy about the way that I died.” Genevieve finally confessed her emotions to Alastor. Upon exiting her room, the cat slowly made her way over to Alastor so she wouldn’t be standing there so awkwardly. Her tail was still wrapped around her waist but more loosely now that she was starting to get things off of her chest. “I-I’m here because I was so envious and jealous of the rich. I’m sure you’ve been trying to figure out how old I am and when I died.” She began to speak whilst fidgeting. “I died back in like... 1665 from Bubonic Plague, ya know? It was spreading rapidly throughout the Parrish and plague orders were being enforced against everybody if just one family member was sick. I got my whole family infected after we were locked inside our house. I got further infection when the plague doctor drained out some of my blood to get rid of the disease. I died two weeks later and my body was carried out to the plague pits where I was dumped with so many other corpses.” Gene explained every little single thing to Alastor hoping it would make him happy.

——————————————

“Well, what do you like to eat?” Charlie questioned him. There wasn’t much food at the hotel but ordering food was always an option. “Ordering food is good. There’s a lot of fast food places down here in Hell. But we’re going to have to see what the others decide.” She explained cheerily to him. Since more food was going to be needed still, ordering something to eat was going to be the best option for now. Honestly, Charlie was going to want something more... leafy like a salad or something.

As soon as Gene stepped out, she practically became an open book for Alastor. She was clearly anxious, nervous and scared. He didn't say anything though, he just listened, and took in all that she said. He didn't show any visible reaction, despite the tragic tale she told. When one became privy to such things that he had, the little individual tragedies were hard to even relate to, let alone react to. It was part of what made him so terrifying to others, how unaffected by circumstance he seemed to be, along with the sheer power he displayed, if he wanted to. It was interesting though, that he was able to pin with relative accuracy when she had died, and it made sense, that she was envious. Was it even something that anyone could blame her for, she wasn't envying wealth per say, but the ability to avoid a horrible fate that was bestowed upon her. There was one thing he could not answer though, and that was, how to help her earn redemption, when her position, and her sin, was perhaps the most understandable anyone could think of. "That truly is a tragedy...but you mustn't let it control you. I've seen plenty of tragedies in my time, and while I tend to view them with a far different outlook, I still don't allow my thoughts to center around those tragedies." He said, the idea of giving her any advice once again striking him as odd. "I also would not dwell on what others have, when you spend your time thinking about what others have, you often ignore the opportunities presented right in front of you."

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"I mean, I don't really care too much. You tend to stop caring when you have to eat whatever is available instead of being able to choose. That being said, I hadn't had anything simple like a burger or hot dog in a long time, not since I was stateside last and that was...over a year ago at least." He looked to the hotel, which they were incredibly close to by now, before looking back at Charlie. "But like I said, I'm fine with what everyone else wants in the end. So long as it isn't too awful." He smiled, giving a bit of a shrug as he spoke.

Genevieve just poured her feelings out and she was uncomfortable by the fact that Alastor showed no reaction. She had been so used to people showing emotion and reaction to her that she wasn’t sure on what she should think about Alastor not showing any sort of reaction. It was strange to the cat demon. But then Alastor was giving her.... advice? How odd. Gene was rendered speechless and her ears pinned themselves back whilst she crossed her arms over her heaving chest as if she was contemplating on if she should say something. Slowly but surely, Gene’s breathing returned back to a normal steady rate. Alastor was someone that she felt like she could put her trust in. “Please don’t say anything about this to the others.” It was a simple request and she didn’t want everybody knowing and Genevieve prayed to Lucifer that Alastor would heed to it without question. But Alastor did have a point and she should listen to him. “But. I’ll keep in mind what you just told me.”

———————————-

“Well come on now then.” Charlie squeaked our, shuffling the bags that were dangling from her arms and quite awkwardly, she moved to grab Max’s hand to make the trip more quicker since they were nearly there. Charlie tugged Max along and guided him over to the front door of the hotel. “Alright, so I’m going to let you do the talking and tell the others why you’re here and whatnot.” Charlie spoke with haste before she let go of his hand so that she could open the front door to the hotel.

Alastor's smile grew a bit wider, and he cocked his head to the side a bit. "My dear, of course I'll keep it a secret, who do you think I am, some sort of blathering radio show host who repeats all he hears for the world to see?" He said, taking amusement in the irony of his own statement. He noticed that she was becoming far calmer around him, which was usually the exact opposite of how demons normally were with him, and often with good reason. Though, he supposed that perhaps everyone had someone that they had a soft spot for, someone that weren't a monster for, even if they were a monster to everyone else. "Well, would you like to come down stairs then, or would you prefer to stay up here? Our gracious owner should be here soon."

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Max was taken by surprise when Charlie went to pull him along, by he managed to avoid losing his balance and falling down embarrassingly. His cheeks turned a slight hue of red as she pulled him along by the hand, but Max managed to suppress that quickly. He hardly got a chance to speak, whether he was going to object, agree or just ask for a moment to figure out what to say so he didn't make an ass of himself, before the door was pushed upon by Charlie, and the few people inside, primarily a grey demoness and another what he assumed was also a demoness, judging by general body shape, that he thought was a spider, although he wasn't entirely sure, paid him attention. "Uhh...Hi..." he said, unsure of how to continue, his mind racing as he grasped for any words that made sense. "I'm here to find redemption..." He said, unsure of what else to tell them. He didn't think he should just start going on about what got him down in hell, lest he sound like some sort of crazy loose cannon or something.

The spider "demoness' spoke first, saying "I hope this guy is more fun than the last girl, she hardly seemed like she even wanted to talk to any of us." The grey shook her head, as she spoke "quit it, I don't want you scaring away any of guests, you've caused enough trouble already!" The first one threw their hands up and said "I haven't even done anything since I embarrassed you on live TV!" The grey demoness quickly glared at the spider, as Max looked over to Charlie awkwardly.

Gene’s pinned ear gave a slight twitch. “I just want to make sure that’s all.” She spoke softly as if she felt flustered but she also felt oddly calm around Alastor... maybe it was because he was kind to her. And he listened to her. That’s what she needed. “I guess I can go down stairs now since I’m calm.” Gene decided. She was calm now after getting stuff off of her chest and since she was calm, then maybe she could be around the others. Though maybe Gene hadn’t made a good first impression with them and that did worry her a bit but hey... at least she had Alastor. And the cat should not be up here all the time and not come downstairs to see everyone else for that was most likely considered to be rude and impolite. Which she was neither of those things and she wanted to keep it that way.

—————————————

Charlie looked at Vaggie and Angel Dust before looking at Max. “Erm... this is Max and he’s simply here to see if he can be redeemed.” Charlie managed to say with smoothness. Simply she wanted to prevent any awkwardness coming into then atmosphere so she was just trying to keep things light. But her eyebrows furrowed at what Angel had said. “Girl? Someone came here while I had been gone?” Charlie questioned but delightfully since at least they were getting off to a start with getting demons to stay here at the hotel. Her gaze flicked back to Max where she gave him a sympathetic look before speaking. “They don’t get along at all.” She murmured softly to him.

"Ah well then come on, lets go, best not keep everyone waiting!" He said, as he started to turn back and lead Gene downstairs. Both Alastor and Gene were by the sight of Vaggie and Angel Dust starting to bicker again, while a demoness, who Gene could likely assume was Charlie, the owner, stood at the door with some other demon. Alastor cocked his head to the side again, as he observed first the fight, then Charlie, and then finally the new demon, before saying "Interesting..." he quickly caught himself, and continued "...it seems you are not the only new guest we have today Gene!" He then began to continue down the stairs, pulling her along with him now.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Max nodded, quietly saying "Yeah...I could tell." Vaggie, in the meantime, turned to look at Charlie and said "Yeah, we have another new guest, she is upstairs with Alastor right now." Angel Dust, meanwhile, snickered and said "Yeah and they've been up there for a long time. I wonder what they're doing, huh?" Vaggie snapped back to Angel Dust immediately, and glared at him, but before she said anything, they were both interrupted by Alastor and Gene coming down stairs. Max watched them silently, deciding to not get involved in the argument, but he quickly noticed that the male demon who came downstairs was now observing him, rather than the two others bickering, and for an uncomfortably long time at that. He looked back to Charlie, as the demon continued to look him over, and said "Who is that Charlie..."

Gene meekly followed Alastor downstairs. “Why are you always smiling?” Gene asked out of curiosity. Going downstairs is where she could hear commotion going on. It made her ears prick up out of curiosity and she was met with the sight of Angel and Vaggie bickering with each other. She only looked at them before her gaze went to look at Charlie and Max. It did seem like she wasn’t the only new guest here. Gene only stayed close to Alastor, not sure what she should say so she just stayed close to the male demon since she felt comforted around him.

————————————

Charlie was curious about the guest that had already arrived here. And she frowned at what Angel said about Alastor being upstairs with Gene for a long while. She then took note that Alastor had now come downstairs with Gene who, at least Charlie could tell, was very withdrawn and shy. “That’s Alastor the Radio demon. He’s infamous for torturing and murdering a whole bunch of demons. So it’s best not to make him angry.” Charlie spoke in quite a whispering tone of voice to Max. “Vaggie will tell you more about him.” She added on as she turned her attention back to Alastor and Gene.

Alastor glanced back at Gene, leaning back against the railing as he spoke. "Well because I can just always think of so much to smile about. Life is full of things to find joy in, so long as you know how to look for it." He looked back downstairs again, as he took her hand and pulled her down. "Charlie, this is Gene, our new guest...along with...who is this that you've brought in, exactly?" He asked, as he looked back to her. Max, meanwhile, nodded to what Charlie said, saying "Well then...I'll be sure to stay on his good side...and I think I can tell why he is called the radio demon." He said, remarking to his odd sounding voice. He then glanced to Alastor, looking up at him as Alastor still stood a few steps up on the stairs. "I'm Max by the way..." Vaggie and Angel Dust had both fallen silent now, with Angel still smirking softly as Vaggie sat there looking still rather irritated at Angel, who Max still thought was a girl.

Gene’s ears flicked. Should she tell him that she had forgotten how to smile? She wasn’t sure how Alastor would react to that so she kept quiet about that. Her pastel green eyes looked down when Alastor had taken hold of her hand and she swore that the fur on cheeks began to heat up warmly. Quickly, Genevieve made that warmness go away before Alastor could see it. She just held onto his hand tightly but not too tightly but rather firmly. The girl looked back at Charlie and she was tempted to smile at the blonde who seemed really sweet and nice but something stopped her from doing so. “Nice to meet you.” Genevieve said softly to Charlie before going back to being silent. There was nothing more that she could really say right now.

————————————

Charlie smiled at Gene before looking at Max and then at Alastor. “He’s here for redemption too. Ain’t it great, Al?” She squealed with happiness for she was happy that they were getting somewhere with this hotel and hopefully they could get some real business around here. Hopefully more demons would come here and then business would be around here. “Al thinks redemption is, as he puts it, whacky nonsense.” Charlie mumbled softly to Max.

"Oh it certainly is great. I was worried that no one else was going to show up after Angel made you look like fools in front of all of hell. It would've been boring only watching him fail over and over again." Max was about to reply to Alastor with more than a little annoyance in his voice, until he heard that him refer to the spider as a boy, which caused him to give a confused and surprised glance, which helped to keep him from arguing with Alastor. He nodded softly to what Charlie said, and quietly said "if it means anything, I don't think its nonsense." Although what he said was quickly overshadowed by Alastor continuing. "Anyways, who's hungry rignt now? I could go for...just about anything right now!"

Gene’s ears pricked up at the mention of who was hungry. She had forgotten that she was hungry due to the nervousness that she had been feeling earlier. And now that she was more calm, she reminded herself that she was in fact hungry. But Alastor already knew that she was hungry so the cat didn’t bother with saying anything about that. Still, Gene wanted something with fish on it since her gut was telling her that she should eat fish and she wasn’t going to object. Then again, ordering food meant everyone was going to have to agree on something. Hopefully some of the eateries in Hell had fish, she wasn’t really sure.

———————

“I’m really hungry.” Charlie piped up with glee. She also reminded herself that she needed to put these groceries away since the bad were weighing down her arms and after doing this for a while, it really hurt. “So, are we going to be ordering food?” Charlie questioned curiously. Ordering food sounded nice but she wanted everyone to agree on where exactly they order food from. And it was about time to eat anyways so that was also good. Charlie was going to have to get more groceries sometime later on if they wanted to be fully stocked up on food and soda and not worry about having to run away. “Because honestly, I’m almost okay with anything.”

Angel leaned back in the chair he was sitting on, saying "I feel in the mood for Pizza, how about we get that?" Alastor replied first, as he finally came down the stairs all the way, and said "Well, about that, Miss Genevieve would like to have something with fish in it, and I think we should let her choose since this is her first day." He glanced over to Max, knowing that he was in a similar situation to her in that regard and would, by that logic, have the same say she did. He simply shrugged though, reiterating that he really didn't care that much where they ate. "Well, I mean...Pizza can come with Sardines, but...to be honest, those are pretty shitty as far as fish go...I don't know how many places have fish and deliver though, so we'd probably have to go out for that...not that I don't mind that, and who knows, maybe hell is different, that is just my experience at least..." He said, looking over at Gene and then Alastor again.

Genevieve has no idea what pizza was for pizza was invented over 200 years after she had died... concluding that pizza was made in the 1800’s. And she’s always stuck to fish, bread, and vegetables down here in Hell back when you could easily find those things here. “What’s pizza?” Gene finally said something and it was a mere question which showed how clueless she was about more modern things. Asking that question did make her feel shame for not knowing what a simple food was. But, she had always kept to herself and had been a loner to where she didn’t pay attention to anything makers. Her ears flicked and her tail, which by now had unwrapped itself from her waist, had fluffed its fur out and almost went stiff.

————————
How could anyone not know what pizza was? It was a popular food item to be consumed by demons down here. Charlie had thought that every demon knew what pizza was though Gene had proved her wrong. But if Genevieve didn’t know what pizza was, then she must’ve been really old for a demon... older than Alastor since the radio demon knew what pizza was. “If Gene wants fish, then we can find something with fish, or just get a pizza for her that’s got fish for topping.” Charlie said in a quick attempt to settle the matter.

Max looked over to Gene, with more than a little confusion. It took him a moment to remember that he was in hell, and anyone could be far far older than anyone who was alive, which he assumed must be the case for her, although when she was born, he couldn't be certain, aside from before pizza was made, but he wasn't much into the history of food, so that meant nothing to him in the end. He thought for a moment, trying to remember what was actually in a pizza. "Pizza is...Its breads, with tomato sauce and cheese on, that is baked. Then you usually put toppings on it, like meat, peppers, some kind of fish...anything really. Except Pineapple" he said, smirking softly. Alastor took this as his time to speak again, and said "Well then its settled, we'll get Pizza! I happen to know of a great place not so far from here!" He once again pulled Gene down by the hand, fully bringing her into the main lobby and lounge. "I can cover the cost for this meal as well."

Gene looked at Max whilst he had to explain what a pizza was to her. She felt so bad for being so clueless about stuff but that’s what happens when someone dies in the 1600’s or even before that. Gene would’ve expected for the others to legitimately laugh at her cluelessness. But she was ultimately relieved when nobody laughed or snickered at that question she had just asked. As a quiet response, her ears flicked in understanding. Gene still felt slightly embarrassed to where her cheek fur felt so warm but knew that she should not let it bother her, so Gene made herself calm down and not think about it. Nearly she stumbled when Alastor brought her down the rest of the stairs but luckily she had been holding onto the railing with her other hand so she had managed to keep her balance steady. Once off the stairs, Gene let go of the railing and followed Alastor to the main lobby and lounge area of the hotel.

—————————

“I like pineapple on pizza. Tomato is a fruit isn’t it? It’s on pizza.” Charlie pointed out to Max. She was fine with pizza and indeed she liked pineapple on pizza. Well, now it was time to put the groceries up and give her arms a good needed rest. “Well, imma put the groceries up.” Charlie informed before she started to head over to the kitchen area and placed the bags on the counter before stretching her stiff arms out.

Once Alastor had Gene in the lobby, he let go, as he put his hand outwards with his palm facing up, and then in an instant, a phone of some type appeared in that hand. He then went to ordering the food that they wanted, his odd voice no doubt sounding even more unusual through a second speaker. As he did that, Angel Dust looked over to Gene, leaning further back in his chair as he smirked, and said "So, how was he?" in a teasing tone, still convinced that the two had been doing more than just talking up there. Vaggie pinched the bridge of her nose as she groaned and said "Is that all you think about Angel?" as she wondered why the even kept someone around who seemed to almost show no real interest in being redeemed.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"I...think it is? I'm not sure actually..." He said, as he tried to remember the one time he had looked it up when he was younger during an argument, but the memory slipped him for the time being. When Charlie went to put the groceries away, Max followed behind, as he said "Here, let me help you." as he glanced to the scrapes he had accidentally given her earlier. On the way to the kitchen, he noticed a picture or two that depicted Charlie with what he could assume was her family, although since he had no clue what Lucifer actually looked like, he did not pay it much attention beyond thinking that she was rather lucky to have family down in hell when he could assume that most demons did not. Once they were in the kitchen, he wanted for her to begin putting things away and copying her, rather than starting on his own and potentially putting various items in the wrong place, something that he could imagine would have annoyed her if he did that.

Genevieve looked at Angel Dust with a very confused and bewildered expression. "How was he with what?" She asked, sounding puzzled. Obviously she didn't know what he was talking about but her mind began to think that Angel was just asking how good Alastor was with the talking. "You mean how good was he with the talking?" Gene asked, sounding quite innocent and shy. But she could easily tell that Angel was teasing her and that did make her feel a little uneasy but she didn't show how nervous she was.

------------------------------------------
Charlie was pleased when Max had offered his help to put the groceries away with her. She appreciated it since Max had accidentally knocked her to the ground after all and scrapes were still left on her skin that hurt but didn't bother her. "Oh, thank you." Charlie said with a grin before she got to work on putting stuff up in various places. Sodas in the fridge, canned food in the cabinet, kitchen towels in the drawer and so on. This should give Max an idea on where some of the stuff went.

Angel Dust gave her a confused and awe struck look, as he said. "You can't be serious..." which earned a giggle from Vaggie, who was mostly happy to see the tables turned on Angel for once, after she had been on the receiving end of his antics and mischief for so long. Angel's head snapped towards Vaggie, giving her an annoyed and somewhat flustered look, before his attention once again snapped back towards Gene. "Don't play stupid, you two were alone for a long time up there, and I know exactly what you were doing? Did it feel good?" He teased again, grinning at her as he did so. It was at that time that Alastor had finished his call, and immediately let the phone disappear into nothingness, before he snapped, and Angel's chair did the same, causing him to fall backwards onto the ground with a heavy thud, as he turned to face the others, hardly even paying attention to Angel. "It should be here in...oh...15, maybe 20 minutes."

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Max helped her put things away quickly, glancing around for a moment to see if they were out of earshot of everyone else, before he looked to Charlie. "So...since I told you why I'm here, I want to know, why are you here...you don't come across as someone who'd do...well anything that I'd expect would normally get someone here..." He said, stopping for a moment as he he studied her reaction. After a split second of thought, he realized that even if he was willing to share, that didn't mean she was, and he quickly added. "But only if you want to tell me of course, if that's something you'd rather keep private, I would absolutely understand..."

"Of course I'm serious." Genevieve retorted back to the spider demon with a flustered expression. But then, his next sentence made everything come together and make sense. "No! We didn't do that! That is... That is not an appropriate nor modest topic of conservation! Nobody talked like that in my day!" She nearly shrilled it out but stopped herself so that she could say it more smoothly yet sounding embarrassed. Gene looked down at the floor out of sheer embarrassment and her arms were crossed underneath her chest whilst her tail seemed to fluff itself out and went stiff. Then her head snapped back up when she heard Angel Dust fall backwards onto the ground. Gene was so tempted to laugh and smile at that but she stopped herself from doing so.

-------------------------------

Charlie stopped what she was doing and briefly she hesitated. What would Max's reaction be to the fact that she was the Princess of Hell and that she was born down here. "Oh well... actually, I was born down here. My dad is Lucifer the almighty ruler of Hell." Charlie finally spoke after being silent for quite a bit. "So yeah, I'm the princess of Hell." Charlie added on before thickly swallowing and she went back to quickly putting up groceries where they needed to be.

Angel rubbed his back, shooting Alastor a glare as he said "Hey fuck you, that hurt!", as Alastor glanced to him and said "Like I've said before, I'll be passing on that offer Angel", catching both him and Vaggie off guard. He then looked back to Gene, as the chair that Angel had been using suddenly appeared behind Gene for her to sit in. "Would you like a drink of some sort of, perhaps Genevieve? Husk mostly specializes in alcoholic drinks, but I am sure he can fix you up something...clean, if indulgence is not your thing."

Max stopped in his tracks, glancing back at her with a surprised look. He didn't know what he was expecting, but that was certainly not it. He may have not been religious, but he still had read plenty of religious books and myths, mostly out of curiosity, so he understand plainly, behind her being a princess, what the supposed significance of that really was, of course, those tales also made the child of the devil out to be a monster, and Charlie was about the furthest thing from that he could think of, so perhaps, beyond her being royalty, there was no greater significance. Once he processed what he had been told, her simply smirked at her as his voice took on a playful tone, along with an over-exaggerated hoity-toity tone. "Oh well excuse me your majesty, had I know I was in the presence of Royalty, I wouldn't have dared to be as vulgar as I was earlier!"

Genevieve was surprised when a chair appeared behind her for her to sit in but she obediently did so anyway. She could really use a crisp drink herself and she had drank alcohol when she was alive because she had been told to do so if she wanted to not catch the plague. That didn't work of course. "Um... I can take a little bit of wine if there is any around here of course." Gene finally spoke up whilst her ears pricked up in interest. Most likely she wouldn't get along with Angel due to his crude behavior but that didn't matter right now because her full attention was right on Alastor.

Charlie gave Max a very weird look with her eyebrows raised. "I know I'm basically royalty and all but I don't need to be called 'Majesty' or anything like that." Charlie drawled out a giggle before she finished putting up her half of the groceries. "And my dad being ruler of Hell doesn't mean anything to demons down here. They still do things to spite my dad and make him angry for the fun of it." Charlie added as she looked at Max. She and her parents were occasionally trampled on by the lower demons which had been shown from that interview where she had been horribly humiliated on live television by Killjoy and Trench.
