Genevieve bit down on her cheek when Alastor asked if everything was alright. She was going to lie, of course, and prevent Alastor from knowing what was going on. “Everything is alright.” She finally spoke after brief hesitation. The cat knew why he was asking if everything was alright... she always seemed so somber, dazed, and unhappy. But still, she was persistent on keeping her death a secret because she wouldn’t know how the others would react to that. Her fingers twitched, tempted to close the door and be left alone again but something stopped her from doing so. “I’m doing fine, don’t worry about me.” Gene insisted with Alastor in hopes that it would get him to leave her alone. Genevieve went through a death that Alastor didn’t have to go through and she envied him. Even if she didn’t know how he died, Gene envied him. Like how she envied the rich people who never caught the plague during that time and it was just the poor people getting the plague. Her envy and jealousy got her sent down here all because she was envious of the healthy rich people.

Curiously, Charlie listened on to what he was saying and what got him sent down here. And his reason for being down here did not sway her opinion about him and she still thought he was nice. “You’re still a nice guy in my view. Nothing will ever change that. Besides, I think that demons can have a chance at being good and redeeming themselves of what got them down here.” Charlie was finally hinting at why she was in a hotel and she hoped that Max would agree with her unlike most demons who thought that redemption was silly and impossible at that. But since she found herself trusting Max, she knew she wouldn’t have to worry about him being snobby or rude to her.
