Fantasy Secrets Of Eden

Guardian Core

Dungeoneer
Eden, a utopia high in the sky. Known to some as the Ark closest to Heaven, and others, a place for the 'Almighty,' and Eden for the rest. Inside of Eden lies a man named, Archael. He is believed to be the reincarnation of an ancient race that created an artifact called the Mystic Arcana which could grant god-like powers to anyone who held it and was bestowed the powers it harbored. Its original use was a tool to end a war between Eden and Purgatorio, a hellish place full of monsters and demons, but home to much more sinister forces. During the war, The Sanctuary War, the Mystic Arcana fell into the wrong hands and was used against Eden and nearly took the world into destruction. The people that lived in between Eden and Purgatorio suffered the major effects of the war, turning their intelligent cities and high-tech areas back to simpler times. After a harsh battle, Eden had won and separated the Mystic Arcana into four pieces and scattered them across the world. Ranging from the icy Skypeaks, land of eternal winter, Alrehawke, home of the sylvan elves, Eigros, a kingdom under the rule of a just king, and Archaedea, a kingdom ruled by a questionable monarch.

Archael believes that he could save Eden from future disasters and plans to collect all the pieces, driven by his messiah complex. The ancient race had separated it for a reason, although Archael harbors a hidden plan for using it. He is searching every corner of the world for this artefact with the help of his High Council, which is constructed of the six most dangerous masterminds and leaders anyone has ever seen. Will Eden repeat history and emerge into war with Purgatorio, or will something worse happen?

In this RP, you will take on the role of a hero to either stop Archael or end up joining him and his ranks. Team up with others as you explore the world of Titansward, searching every corner for treasure, fame, personal glory or other reasons. As you explore, you will find others, those who may join your cause as allies or turn against you as your enemies- their loyalty relies on your decisions.

*Basic Ideas*

This RP holds four distinct races, varying in features and each belong to a specific area in Titansward.

*Human: a basic human being. Being a general build for everything such as warriors or mages. Humans belong to the Eigros, Archaedea and other human-run capitals.

*Sylvan Elf: A creature with similarities to humans, such as similar height and intelligence. Their uniqueness comes from being a creature of the land, knowing much about it and using it to their advantage whether it be for everyday life or battle. Sylvan Elves belong to the Alrehawke empire.

*Drakenchild: A race of humans born with the blood of dragons inside them. Through intense training, able to shapeshift into a dragon for varying periods of time, though the negative effect of rendering them weak upon returning to human-form. Drakenchildren reside all around Titansward.

*Angelics: The race that lived in Eden and are now extinct. Lore from ancient libraries tells their stories, but rumor has it that they still live today. (No longer selectable in character creation)

Each character in this RP gets access to a class of their own choosing (inspiration or duplication coming from other RPGs) such as Samurai, Wizard, or Bard, or something totally new. Each class also gets two unique abilities such as the abilities to empower allies or enhancing their weapons with magical properties.

*Land of Titansward*

A map for this RP is currently in the works, but will be posted when it is finished.

-Reason being, life is hectic and things are getting in the way of it being finished.

*Rules and Expectations*

Some short rules I have for the RP include:

1a. Unique characters; something interesting about them- perhaps a revelation throughout the story progression. No Mary-Sues. Characters are shwon in the "Character Sign-Up" tab.*

1b. Be creative with your character's class and abilities and their effects. An example is a magician who can infuse the power of darkness with a fireball spell.

2. Detailed posts. Being a Detailed RP, this story should have some detailed or interesting posts that have a decent length. At least 2-6 paragraphs.

3. Guardian Core and Aeon Sagittarius are the GMs and will establish when big events, quests, and such occur. Major battles (like boss battles) will occur throughout the story. These events will usually last a decent amount of posts.

4. Have fun and create fun developments for your characters!

*Characters must be approved before posting.

The setting is outside of Eigros kingdom in the port-city of Shear. The town is a moderately sized port city with an ocean bordering the south and east side of the town. To the north is Lake Shear.

Kaine was walking along the brick road, looking down and seeing large ships anchored to the harbor. Below, sailors were loading up a ship with various crates, containing exports from Shear, which consisted of fabrics and tailoring goods. The area around Shear was heavily used for agriculture and livestock. As a result, many sheep were raised and shaved for their wool.

As Kaine continued down the road, he saw a girl wearing red armor with a large katana on her back. "She's a bright character. Looks like she might be in need of a protector." At the moment, all he could think about was offering his bodyguard services to the girl. He decided to walk up to her and introduce himself, as he strode up to her, his greaves struck against the brick road, clanging with every step he took. Finally, he reached the girl and bowed to her, "Salutations." It was the only thing he could think of. He never paid attention to what she was actually doing, but just assumed she was going on an adventure- though he was partially correct.

Hilda stood at the stand of a fruit vendor. "Oh my, greetings, sir," she said, stepping to the side to create some distance. "Did the local fruit look good to you too?" While she was speaking this, she gazed in amazement at the delicious fruit the merchant offered. All that was on Hilda's mind was getting something good to eat. Since she was young, she came to this city to buy fruit for her and her family, but now she was riding solo and was somewhat unsure of what to get. "So many decisions... usually I bought something for everyone, but I do not know what I want." A moment of inner panic struck Hilda as she struggled to choose a fruit.

"I had my eye on something else, but the fruit is nice too," Kaine answered back, "You look like you're getting ready for a journey. Might I ask where you are headed?" He placed his left hand on the small space the table had as a support as he turned to look at Hilda.

Unsure if he was flirting or not, Hilda had just thought to turn him down, "I am, but I prefer to go by myself. If you are looking for a traveling companion, I suggest you check out the guild post a couple buildings that way." She pointed to a large, beige-colored building as she spoke. After a moment of silence, she finally had decided, "Give me five of those red apples, please." Handing the merchant her silver coins, she bagged the apples in a travel pack.

Reaching to stop Hilda, he placed his hand on her hand, causing Hilda to panic slightly. "You know how dangerous these woods can be at night, don't you? Why not team up. Besides, what would happen if you fell or got injured?" Kaine looked at her eyes, "We wouldn't want that pretty face to be ruined would we?"

Hilda was on her own for only a few hours and suddenly, all of this happened. Who was this man and why was he so intent on being with Hilda?

As Guillaume was traveling through the swamps of Lake Shear, he could only see countless trees. "I feel like I have been in this god-forsaken swamp for hours." He pressed on, trying to avoid stepping into mud wallows or deep puddles, but occasionally slipping into one. Eventually, he came up to a large river with dark blue water; looking up he saw a large waterfall crashing down. To his right, a small hill rose up with a fence on the left of the hill, most likely made to prevent someone falling in. At the top of the hill was a bridge that connected a second hill, crossing over the waterfall. The bridge was old and had ivy growing up the pillars that supported the bridge's roof. "Someone here has a knack for detail in this place. I must say it is beautiful."

Guillaume proceeded up the hill, running his left hand up the fence as he walked. When he reached the top he veered left to cross the bridge, but thanks to his elfin hearing, he heard something rustling in the thickets behind him. He drew his black blade and held it up with two hands. "I would recommend you cease your actions before you make a mistake." The rustling continued, eventually a large boar emerged from the thicket and charged at Guillaume at full speed. "This just isn't your lucky day, pig." Raising his sword with his right hand, he dodged the charge and spun around, facing the recovering boar. Guillaume's blade began to glow blood-red and he ran towards the boar, slashing it, a red energy circulated the blade. The boar's body was split in half from one attack, Guillaume's attack, draining its energy entirely. "I said you would make a mistake," he chuckled, sheathing his blade, which appeared to be stainless. "Now to continue my little nature walk and find some place to get some damn sleep!"

After crossing the bridge, he began to notice some buildings and heard the sound of waves crashing against stone. He knew he was close, and he picked up the pace- first jogging than eventually a full on sprint. About ten minutes he was out of the forest and saw a city, bustling with commerce and noise. Slowing down his speed to a stroll, Guillaume began to take in the city sight.

OOC: I never though about the use of colored text for dialog. I might do that now, great thinking!

"Well, I-I..." Hilda was awestruck, she didn't know what to respond with. "I appreciate your concern, but I believe I am capable of venturing on my own!" Afterwards she flung the pack over her shoulder. She began to walk off, "I feel like he means well, but I just don't want to have something happen to either of us." Her destination was the Gragnul Plains, which lie past Lake Shear. Not really thinking about it, she just left the man without finding out anything about him and before she realized it, was almost out of Shear and close to the forest. On the way she passed a elf wearing dark armor. "Isn't the home of the elf race pretty far from here?" she thought to herself. After passing him, she felt an ominous presence around him. Though this feeling wasn't one she would forget.

Kaine, who was usually one to schmooze up someone, was somewhat offended by the Onion Knight. He decided he would go after her, after dealing with Lake Shear before, he knew that monsters would lurk in the trees or in the lake. One of the biggest notes to mention was that Lake Shear's legend said that beyond the waterfall was the home to the sea monster, Yurlungur, who was said to bless the waters of Lake Shear that would run into the ocean that Shear was built around. Thinking about it, he had to follow her, because she could be in danger. For a moment, it wasn't about the money, but deep inside, it still might have been a reward for saving her.
"I cannot let a girl like that go by herself. Who knows how experienced in combat she is?" Stumbling as he started chasing after her, he noticed a weapon shop with a gorgeous steel-bladed naginata. "Perhaps it wouldn't be long to purchase that. I mean I cannot go into battle without a second weapon." Already set in his ways, Kaine ran into the shop to purchase a new weapon. Shortly after he bought his new weapon and stowed it on his back where he could easily draw it. "Now I think I am ready," he grinned and began running towards Lake Shear, but along the way, he noticed an elf, apparently being the only one in the city.

(OOC: Hi, I'm new to this site and I hope i'm doing this right ^_^ ' sorry )

Also on her on her way to the lake was a Drakenchild maiden, tuning dragon engraved lute with
a skip in her step. She scrunched up her grey tunic, tucking it into her pants, tying up her dark brown hair as she stalked her way through the forest. Liana was on a quest of her own, to discover the monster of the lake and write an epic ballad, one that would be sung for generations to come. "My name will go down in history as the greatest bard of them all!" She announced to the world around her. She glanced around at the beautiful forest, letting her mind wonder into a soft song.

(music)"A long time ago, when the Earth was green

There was more kinds of animals than you've ever seen

They'd run around free while the Earth was being born

And the loveliest of all was the unicorn

There was green alligators and long-necked geese

Some humpty backed camels and some chimpanzees

Some cats and rats and elephants, but sure as you're born

The loveliest of all was the unicorn"(music).....TWANG!

Liana walked a little further before sitting herself down on a tree root, mumbling angrily and cursing when she found one of her strings had detached so early into her song.
"Stupid! Bloody! Useless piece of wood! I just fixed you!" She hissed, fiddling with the instrument in frustration. "Fire, fire, burn the wood! Let this work as it should! Curse this stupid, childish mistake! Little lute don't annoy a Drake!" She recited to herself under head breath. "Damn the gods! Just give me a break!" She growled, stomping her foot.

OOC: Looks good, Star. Only thing would be to find the Character Sign-Up button (Towards the top of the page) and copy/paste the outline and fill it in with your character(s).

After following Hilda in the forest, Kaine quickly lost sight of the girl. Despite being red in a world of green, it seemed finding Hilda would be finding a needle in a haystack. "Damn, did she know I was following her?" Finding a large exposed root, Kaine sat down on it like a chair, giving himself a rest. "I should probably head towards the waterfall and bridge. That's the best place and it is large enough to see something." Standing up, he heard a noise and quickly reached arm across his chest and behind his neck to grab his naginata. Being cautious he decided to investigate the source of the noise. As he kept moving in, he heard the noise grow louder and eventually heard speaking. "Sounds like a girl's voice. Is she lost- perhaps in need of a bodyguard!" Cutting down some overgrown foliage he found a girl upon a tree root cursing at a lute. "Is everything all right?"

Hilda had been traveling in what she thought was a circle for what she thought was hours, but the entire time she was going north. Due to the size of Lake Shear, it was easy for people to get lost- the only natural source of navigation being the stream which ran from the northern waterfall down south to Shear, which eventually poured into the ocean. She kept going though, determined to find the way out and to get back on track in her adventure. The sound of water rushing was starting to be heard by Hilda, indicating she was headed in the right direction. "I think that is the waterfall!" Picking up speed she ran and finally emerged in the central area of the lake- the large waterfall with the bridge. Walking up the hill, Hilda grabbed the poles of the fence as a security measure. She took a left and stepped onto the stone bridge, taking her time to cross as she admired the natural beauty of the ivy covered columns and seemingly unscathed stone. Facing north, Hilda stared at the mighty waterfall in amazement, almost put into a trance by its beauty. Recollecting her thoughts, she crossed the bridge and continued up another hill and reached the top of the waterfall, and the source of the water, a large, crystal blue pond.

As Hilda got close to the pond, water began to rush at a faster speed, the current speeding at a violent rate. Before her eyes, a large geyser shot out of the pond, and as the water slowly rained back down, a large serpent revealed itself.
"Oh my! Eden watch over me." Hilda neared the monster. "Creature of water, I did not mean to wake you! Please forgive my actions!" The serpent only hissed loudly at Hilda, the force of its roar almost enough to push her backward.

240px-Yurlungur3.jpg
(This was the closest look I could find)

"Child, leave my domain at once!" The serpent shouted loudly. "Nobody treads into the lair of Yurlungur and expects to live!"

Hilda was paralyzed with fear. "It can talk!? How can it talk? Why can't I move?" Finally recollecting herself she cleared her throat and yelled back, "Monster, t'was not my intention to wake you! However, it is your choice whether or not you will believe me... and if not... I will just have to fight you!" Placing her hand on her rapier's hilt she was ready to draw her blade.

"Your words seem to carry truth. Child, I will let you-" A stray arrow struck the serpent's neck, causing the serpent to flail around, causing tremors that knocked Hilda off her feet.

Hilda looked around and saw a strange looking man carrying a bow who appeared to be laughing. He slowly turned around and left.
"Who are you!?" Unknown if the man heard, his action was done, but Yurlungur was sent into a berserk rage. "That arrow must have been enchanted. It is causing him to go berserk." Rapier in hand, Hilda was ready to charge the beast and relieve him of pain.

As Guillaume browsed the city of Shear, he began to feel a strange aura. "What's going on?" he wondered. The sensation eventually pained him, causing him to grab his chest. "But I just killed something recently. What am I feeling?" Forcing himself to stand he tried to move but could not seem to overcome the pain. Something was causing him an internal pain, he had no clue what was causing it, his only choice would be to venture into Lake Shear and attempt to feed off something's energy. Guillaume slowly proceeded back towards Lake Shear where he could hopefully overcome this pain. Passing by many people, he noticed many of them stared intently at him, some gasping and other's shielding their eyes. "Why are people staring?" He was starting to become suspicious of what was happening to him and looked down he saw a large red stain on his armor, the blood was wet and fresh. "How did I not feel this until now? What kind of curse is this?!" Clutching his wound, he hurried into Lake Shear as fast as he could, trying his best to not have blood drip onto the stone paths of the city.

Finally, Guillaume had ventured far enough from Shear that he was safe enough to slay a beast to recover his wound, at least, hoping it would recover. Searching around, he tried to find a boar or something to kill in order to receive life-force. The ground began to rumble and he heard a loud roar.
"What the hell is that?" he asked loudly, although nothing was there to answer, or so he thought. The cringed frown slowly changed into a large grin. "That monster will surely do!" Guillaume chuckled as he drew his blade and forced himself to run in the direction of the monster's roar. As Guillaume ran towards the monster, a girl in a red and orange garb stepped out from behind a tree, but she was too late to introduce herself.

A pair of amber eyes widened. Raphael had been walking, peacfully, through the woods. He was on his way towards the nearest city to provide his healing services when he was interrupted by a monsterous roar. Turning from the path, he took off sprinting towards the sound. Upon arrival, he found a few people fighting...something.

He unclasped his holy book from his side before letting it fall open in his hand. Raising his other hand, he began to chant:

"Blessed be their weapons

To slay this foe of freight

Blessed be their weapons

To grant them truest might

Lord, strengthen their shields and sharpen their blades

Give them the breath of light

So that they may live without fear

And feast tonight."

With the chant finished, his hand began to glow a warm orange. From the glow pulsed an orange wave, causing their weapons to glow orange. The spell had increased their weapons durability and their effectiveness in combat, giving them the extra oompf needed to slay the great beast before them.

Hilda noticed the magician enchant her rapier and gave him a nod. Facing Yurlungur she squinted slightly and took off running. Yurlungur began to charge a large blast of water and finally directed it at Hilda, firing a fierce blast of water at her, but her dodge skill was more than Yurlungur expected. Rolling out of the way, Hilda reached Yurlungur and struck him with a barrage of stabbing and slashing motions, causing the monster to start bleeding. As a counter, Yurlungur flailed violently, whipping its tail and splashing waves at Hilda, knocking her over. Soon after the serpent's scales began to glow a rainbow color and the wound slowly began to heal. Hilda came to her senses and rolled to the side and got back up,
"Damn, it is healing all the damage I do to it." She held her rapier up to her face, closed her eyes and breathed lightly before rushing back to attack the creature once again. Zig-zagging to avoid the blasts of water, she reached the belly of the beast and began to unleash a flurry of attacks on the beast- adding a final kick before retreating back. Rainbow scales quickly returned and slowly recovered the wound. "If I attack it quickly, I should be able to beat it before it heals itself, but really I just need to get that arrow out of it."

Yurlungur slowly recovered the wound but eventually started charging an attack, the air around the man who imbued Hilda's weapon began to become a frost white color. Hilda saw this happening and quickly ran towards the man and rammed into him with her shoulder to knock him out of the attack, doing so just in the nick of time as the attack caused the air to form into an ice crystal, trapping Hilda inside. Hissing loudly, Yurlungur slithered out of the lake and rose above the magician like a tower, hissing again it reeled back and charged at the magician, wrapping it's body around the magician.

After Raphael recovered, his eyes widened as the giant creature wrapped around him. "Shitshitshitshit." He cursed repeatedly. He didn't want to use his heritage, but if he had no other choice...

Regardless his time was running out. The woman who had tackled him was trapped inside a large crystal of ice and the other two were safe as far as he could see. If they could pry this damned creature off of him, then he could crack the ice around the woman. Thankfully, he knew of a planar spell that would work.

OOC: I forgot to say this, but you guys are free to control bosses to an extent when going against characters, like how I simply said the boss, beginning to wrap itself around Cruor. Though when against your own character, go all out (obviously don't just be like "Death 2! -- Dead sort of deal). Depending on how posts go, I am looking to make this boss last around 10 more posts or so, just to give people a chance to either fight it, see it or something.

Blair trudged along the forest absolutely exhausted. She had heard about an unusually large influx of merchants and travelers into Shear and was hoping to get a good haul of gold. Of course, things had gone south when the travelling merchant she was hitching a ride with realized the "gold coins" she had gave him were very non-gold rocks. Now she was stuck trudging in the forest alone and helpless, her powers were worth almost nothing without people to deceive or support! She was lucky that wild boars apparently can dance, as quick thinking and her fiddle had stopped it from spearing her. Better file that discovery away to experiment with later... she thought when she was suddenly interrupted by a horrible screeching noise. Walking out from the forest into the clearing she saw the layout of a battle scene, eyes first landing on a giant worm thing?, then a frozen knight and a non-frozen knight and some guy in a white cloak. She unconsciously turned and started to back out but she stopped hesitatingly. The water serpent was bad news but if she stayed and helped the rag-tag team she could possibly get in with the group, which meant protection! Mind decided she stepped confidently back in and drew her violin from her hat. "Cover your ears!" she shouted and began a steady swell of music slowly speeding to an infectious pace.

Breath bated she silently prayed for it to work as well as it did on the boar. She grinned as the serpent seemed to writhe to the beat, coils unwrapping off hoodie guy. She breathed a sigh of relief just in time for the steadily approaching serpent to plow its tail straight into her. The violin skittered across the ground as she went flying a few feet away.
"Ow Ow Ow" she hissed in pain.

Raphael gasped for breath as the serpent released its hold on him. Almost immediately upon recovering, he dashed towards the woman trapped in ice. "I'll get you out of here quickly...just give me a moment." He said. He didnt know if the woman could hear him or not, but that doesnt matter.

Pressing his hand onto the cold surface, he began to chant.

"Oh friend trapped in a vice

Whether it be fire, lighting or ice

Freedom shall be yours today

Walk on and keep no dismay!
"

Like before, once the chant was finished, his hand began to glow a warm orange. This time, it seemed to leak into the ice. Once it had spread throughout the crystal, it flashed, shattering it and releasibg the woman. Raphael rushed to her side, ready to catch her if she fell.

OOC: Looks like Guardian posted a picture of Yurlungur.

Guillaume had reached the battle scene and saw a female knight fall into a hooded-man's arms. "This thing must be quite a challenge!" Guillaume's devilish smirk widened as he drew his blade and focused on the serpent, "Life's energy draw from this monster to me!" He swung his now crimson blade at the monster, slashing a wide cut in it's side, causing blood to drip onto the ground and Guillaume's blade. The energy soon transferred to Guillaume's body and replenished his lost strength, giving him a second wind to take on the monster. "Now, let's see how good you are at fighting me, serpent scum," he shouted, agitating the beast and dodging its ice attack that previously hit the female knight. "You've got to be quicker than that to hit an elf like me, hah!" Holding his left hand up he began to chant a spell, "Black auroras, cloak this monster in darkness," while chanting, dark energy began to swirl around his left arm, directing his arm at Yurlungur he unleashed his spell, causing a black swarm to envelop Yurlungur and eventually explode, dealing heavy damage to it. As he prepared to rush the monster Guillaume saw a large bolt of lightning travel over his head and zap Yurlungur. "What the hell was that?"

Turning around, Guillaume noticed a girl clad in a red garb. "Who are you?"

"Someone who is helping you out, now watch out!" the girl said, holding her staff to channel another bolt of lightning to strike the monster. "The creature is obviously vulnerable to lightning magic, so careful not to stand in my way." Running over to a higher spot near the river she began to chant a spell, "Blessed heavens, give me the power of the almighty bolts." Careful to avoid the spells of Yurlungur, the witch finally was able to cast her spell, raising her staff high up, clouds appeared over the monster and a large bolt of lightning struck Yurlungur at his center, causing it to flail around violently, hitting the witch and knocking her right into a large tree, "Dammit, that really hurt," she wheezed, coughing some blood up. She was able to cast her spell, but was left vulnerable and was severely injured. Doing her best to move, she crawled behind the tree and tried to recover some of wounds.

Guillaume ran over to where the girl was hiding and helped her up, "What is your name?"

The girl coughed, "It's Leonora," and slowly got up, wheezing heavily, "What about you?"

"Guillaume, a mercenary." He easily put Leonora over his shoulder, she could barely move, but he could get her to safety, "I'm going to get you somewhere safe."

"Leave me be, that monster is going to go on a rampage, stop it... please." Using all of her strength, she pushed the elf in the direction of Yurlungur and proceeded to move to a hollow tree. "Go!"

Blair blinked trying to clear her head from the mind numbing pain in her abdomen. She grimaced the pain being a reminder of how easily hurt she was. Touching her stomach she was unsure if any ribs were broken, but the serpent's attack had definitely left a bruise. Blair froze, realizing she wasn't holding her violin anymore. "Nonononono" she panted scrabbling over the rocky terrain slick with water. Snatching up the violin she checked to make sure it was unharmed then hugged it happily for a second before realizing how silly it must look. Scanning the battle scene she decided to dash clumsily back to the forest line where the knight was dropping off a wounded magician she could have sworn wasn't there before. Never mind that.. she decided I'll treat my wounds over there. Blair idly wondered if the risk of helping fight the serpent was worth avoiding travelling alone. She kneeled, back to the hollow tree the magician was leaning on and pulled bandages out of her hat. It's one of the perks of my condition, she supposed, being a walking medkit.. Although it would be so much easier if I could manage healing magic... She looked at the other girl curiously as she wrapped her upper waist to form a brace, "Who are you? Are you with them?" she questioned gesturing with a shoulder back to the other fighters.

The Angelic Cleric's eyes darted from the monster to the girl in his arms. She needed to recover and be healed before anything else. Snatching up her rapier, he slid it into its sheath and lifted her. Raphael wasnt a strong man and she, due to her equipment, wasn't too light.

But he pulled through, jogging towards the treeline. He stopped and set the girl down against a tree just as a bolt of lightning struck the great serpent. 'Lighting? How!? Is she like me?' He questioned himself. The most logical explanaition was that the lightning magic was a replica. Questions could be asked and answered later, but for now this girl needed healing. "May your wounds heal." He said, his hands becoming engulfed once more. He placed one hand on the center of her chest, blushing slightly at the slightly intimate contact, and the other on her cheek, beginning the healing process. She would wake soon, so he would need to hurry.

Leonora looked at Blair and spoke softly, still wheezing, "It's Leonora. I'm just a wandering Siren..." pausing a moment to cough heavily she finally continued, "I have no clue who these people are, but I saw an elf, the one who brought me here, and started to follow him. Mostly because his presence seemed- different."

Slowly, Leonora stood up to her feet, and began to quietly chant a spell. Forcing her arm down at the ground, a large symbol appeared and a blue light began to emit from it, slowly recovering both Leonora and Blair's wounds. "It's not much, but it is better than nothing. Now, we have to get back into the fight." Shambling as she walked back into the fight, she did her best to hold her staff up, causing an arc of lightning to shoot out and strike Yurlungur. She noticed Guillaume doing his best to fight Yurlungur and began to chant again, this time a large golden symbol appeared beneath his feet, a gold light shining and boosting his strength. "My magic has strengthened your weapon for a short time, now use that time!"

Guillaume's blade began to fade back and forth between crimson and gold, but he could feel a surge of power running through his veins. "I thought I told her to hide. Did someone help her?" Clearing his mind of those thoughts he lifted his blade upwards, the tip of the blade at the sky and slammed it into the ground, small red shock waves traveling towards Yurlungur before turning into a large blast that erupted from the earth, though Yurlungur was faster than the attack. "Dammit!" he cursed, "If that damned beast won't stand still, than I shall make him myself!" Entering a dash, Guillaume ran up and pierced the beast through it's tail, but despite Yurlungur's size, it was able to counter, knocking Guillaume back a few feet, but not enough to knock him over. "Tch, you're going to have to try harder than that to bring me down." Guillaume continued to attack Yurlungur, draining its energy to restore his. During this time, Leonora would conjure lightning arcs to keep up the pressure on the beast. Yurlungur's defense was to heal himself, but if more damage could be dealt, he would fall faster.

Kaine had tried to get the girl's attention for awhile, but it seemed she was in a trance and left, going to investigate the commotion. He reached the stone bridge and saw the waterfall was rushing violently, "Something is wrong here. I wonder if that Onion Knight is up there." He dashed across the bridge and up the hill and saw a group of people battling the serpent, he recognized two of them; Hilda and the elfin knight. "What is happening here!?" Reaching around his neck he drew his naginata and charged into battle. As he drew closer he charged up a spell to get a hit on Yurlungur, "Burn and singe its scales, Sparksphere!" Finishing his chant, he unleashed a large fireball that struck Yurlungur, while not dealing much damage, it certainly did something. "Persistent beast, take this!" he yelled, swinging his naginata at Yurlungur, slashing it scales, following up with another slash and finally slashing once again, "How do you like that?" Yurlungur began to freeze the air around Kaine as a counterattack, "Not so fast!" Kaine chuckled as he charged up a spell, "Ice and Snow, cease to chill my body anymore," barely finishing his spell, a white aura formed like a shield around him, blocking the spell entirely, "Not strong to break that barrier, eh?" he said, continuing to attack Yurlungur. Kaine had underestimated Yurlungur's power as the monster swung its tail at Kaine who assumed a defensive position with his naginata to block, but the force of the beast snapped his naginata like a twig. "How dare you!" he yelled, his voice filling with rage, "Now it is personal," drawing his silver and emerald blade he charged the beast, slashing and fighting with such speed and power. The way he fought with a sword was almost like a dance he performed, dodging the monster's attacks and striking Yurlungur's body at the same time.

Hilda's eyes opened slowly, seeing the hooded-man rubbing his hands over her wounds, but she noticed his hand on her chest, causing her to go into a slight panic,
"What do you think you are doing!?" Slapping his hand away, she noticed her wounds were recovering, "Oh dear, please forgive me. I know you were only trying to help... but I assure you I am fine, now I need you to help me get the arrow out of the monster," pointing to an arrow lodged in the serpent. She unsheathed her katana and approached Kaine and Guillaume who were up close fighting, "Let me help!" Holding her katana, a blue aura began glow around the blade, eventually going off like a bomb, giving the three melee fighters a light barrier to help withstand the attacks. Swinging the katana weakly, she joined the two men in battling Yurlungur before stopping, "We can't kill it, we have to get that arrow out of it! That arrow was enchanted and made him go berserk!" Hilda shouted loudly so everyone could hear. "Please... trust me," she said quietly as she held back as she attacked Yurlungur.

Blair stiffened at Leonora's introduction, "Oh so you're from a magic academy" she said coldly. She should have guessed, the sorceress's structured magic style paired with her clothing was a giveaway. She glanced at her now healed wounds annoyed, "I could have done that!" she lied crossly. The sounds of battle brought her back to reality, there was better times for pettiness. Blair walked carefully back into battle, dodging the stray attack or two. She prepared to play another dance spell, violin in hand, when the now unfrozen onion knight called out that the arrow was causing it to attack the group. Blair contemplated a plan of action for a second, she could care less whether Yurlungur lived or not but the water serpent was way out of everyone's league looking at how long it had taken them to barely make a dent on its scales. Suddenly her eyes widened, an idea forming. She waited for the perfect moment, finding it when the serpent had lunged at... yet another fighter? I swear it's like they're multiplying when I'm not looking.. she wondered then went back to her plan. Taking her bow she focused her energy on a strong and stout looking tree. She tapped it whispering hurriedly

"No longer shall you appear a tree,

take on my look and follow after me"

The words were really theatrics but she is a bard after all! Going into the final stage of the plan she planted herself behind the tree, quickly glamoured herself invisible, then shouted towards Yurlungur while puppeteer-ing the glamoured tree, "Hey you over sized earthworm! I'd ask you why you were upset but with an ugly maw like that I'd be pretty angry too!" Yurlungur swerved and turned towards her in outrage uttering a burble of indignation, she took a step back but moved her "clone" into a defiant position. That was apparently the final straw as the serpent lunged head first, mouth open upon the hapless tree. She made herself visible again and gloated "Hook line and sinker" as Yurlungur struggled, the tree now wedged between its jaws rooting its head to the ground. Now someone just needed to get that arrow...

Raphael rubbed his hand where the woman's hand had impacted. Turning his gaze towards the beast, his eyes locked onto the arrow lodged in its scales.

"As stalwart as a tower

As light as a bird

May the light grant you this power

From this voice's holy verse!"

Raphael chanted. The fighters in the area began to glow a warm orange. He could feel the lightened feeling take over him as the spell began to affect everyone, granting them defense along with a lighter body, allowing them to jump higher and run faster. He could feel his energy running out, he had just about one more buff left in him before he would pass out. Raising his hand, he prepared the spell.

"Blessed be their weapons

To slay this foe of freight

Blessed be their weapons

To grant them truest might

Lord, strengthen their shields and sharpen their blades

Give them the breath of light

So that they may live without fear

And feast tonight."

With the final word being spoken, the fighter's weapons all began to glow a warm orange. But, alas, Raphael was out of energy. With fluttering eyelids, he collapse onto the ground, book falling down beside him, open. The writing was in another language, unreadable by everyone else.

Liana looked up from her work, smiling gleefully when her lute was working perfectly again. The young bard played a few cords before she finally looked up from her task, realising someone had spoken to her. "Hello? Anyone out there?" She called out, getting up from her tree root seat. The sounds of fighting floated to her ears and with a small squeak she sprinted towards the lake. "Oh by the gods! Not good not good!" She gasped in both terror and amazement. "What a truly wondrous beast! Such beautiful colours! A true testimony to the gods brilliance!" She fell slightly back into a trance, watching the fighting with a dreamy eye until she saw the man fall to the ground. "Oh, oh no!" Liana whispered, running back into the treeline far enough that the others wouldn't be able to easily see her, changing out of her clothes and letting her dragon form consume her.

The smallish grey dragon let out a fearsome roar, spreading out her wings and darting through the trees, back towards the fight. The small dragon growled at the bigger monster as she landed next to the fallen cleric, gently grabbing his robe between her teeth and dragging him away from the battle. She huffed some air at him, nudging him in the shoulder to see if she could wake him. Giving him a moment the little dragon gave up on the man, launching herself into the air and flying towards the serpent. She growled furiously, darting around it's head like a vengeful fly, blasting the creature with fire.

Hilda saw a perfect opportunity to grab the arrow out of Yurlungur and end his berserk state. With her new speed boost, she ran up to the monster and jumped on top of his back and found the arrow, ripping it out in a fast motion. Yurlungur screeched in pain, but his eyes slowly dilated and was slowly returning to normal. Hilda looked at the arrow, looking just like an ordinary one, but it had been enchanted. Jumping back down she walked over to Yurlungur's face and saw him in pain. "Water spirit, are you alright?" she asked, rubbing her hand across its scaled face. "We didn't mean you harm. I just wanted to help you." Yurlungur nodded slightly and used all of its energy to destroy the tree it was trapped by and slowly slithered into the lake.

"Child, I thank you and your allies for saving my life... for I could not control my actions." Yurlungur stated, in a soft voice. "The one who fired this arrow- he awoke my slumber, trying to steal the item I harbor."

Kaine walked up to the lake and questioned Yurlungur about the item,
"What sort of item is it that this rogue was after?"

"A unique orb- a weapon to do good or a tool to destroy civilizations." Yurlungur responded. "I was told by the race of the Angelic to guard the orb, though when I inquired of what it was, they would not answer me."

"Will you be able to continue guarding it?" Kaine wondered.

Yurlungur nodded,
"Yes. I will continue to guard this orb. For the rest of you, I thank you for saving my life- and for not killing me. As I mentioned, I could not control myself. Judging by the sky, darkness will soon cover the area, it would be best for you to return home." Saying his final words he swam back into the lake as the sun was slowly setting.

Kaine looked as everyone was gathered by the lake.
"Obviously someone wanted that orb Yurlungur was guarding, perhaps someone in Shear would know?"

Hilda joined the group of warriors, "Yurlungur said that it was an object from the Angelics. I feel like if more knew about it, the suspicion would cause many people to face Yurlungur and I fear death would be their end... perhaps we shouldn't tell anyone and just research ourselves."

"Eigros' Kingdom has a large library, but out of many of the books I read, none of them were on the subject of Angelics." Kaine took a minute to continue, "The only place I consider to have information is the church and getting information out of them about Angelics is nearly impossible... Though I may know someone who could help us."

"Who would that be?"

"Flavius Cromwell, an investigator from Shear."

"Well let's go! Though we should probably introduce ourselves... I am Hilda, and as you see by my armor, I am an Onion Knight," she stated happily, bowing to the others.

Kaine saluted the others and crossed his arms, "The name's Kaine... a traveling Rune Fencer." Looking at everyone he asked, "What about you lot?"

Guillaume looked at the team of rag-tag warriors. "First things first, I am impressed by all of your fighting techniques... I'm Guillaume, a mercenary."

Getting a bit closer to Guillaume, Leonora looked him over,
"You seem more than a mercenary, the way you fight is just such an interesting style. You could sap that thing's energy and restore your own. What exactly are you?"

He rolled his eyes and gave Leonora a stern look,
"If you wish to know, I call myself a Death Knight. I specialize in dark sword and magic techniques. Also, I have no choice, I have to drain other beings' energy to continue living..."

"So you steal the life of others to save your own... filthy savage!" Leonora cursed.

Guillaume yelled back,
"I brought this upon myself, and if you don't like it, you can be next!"

Leonora appeared to be unfazed by his verbal assault.
"Hmph..."

Guillaume closed in on her,
"Did you forget I saved your life?"

Having nothing to refute, she accepted the fact that Guillaume did save her life.
"I suppose you did... for that I am grateful, though I still consider your cruel assault to be fell, nonetheless."

"You're also forgetting to introduce yourself." Guillaume pointed out.

Caught up in the argument, Leonora had forgotten to mention her name,
"Pardon us for this little episode, but I am Leonora. I'm a Siren, and to those who do not know what that is- I am a practitioner of arcane magics. I also dabble in glyph magic as you probably saw."

Meanwhile in Shear, a man was running through the street, carrying a bag of pilfered goods and a man in a regal looking garb was chasing him down. "Thief, stop!" As he chased the thief he followed him into an alley and eventually saw him cornered, but he whistled loudly, causing more thieves to ambush the man. "You've made a poor choice, ruffian." Smirking he swung his left arm in a horizontal motion causing a phantasmal storm to "electrocute" the thieves. This deception gave the man plenty of time to cast a pair of glowing chains around the thieves. Crushing the air in his hand, the storm ceased but the thieves were all shackled and he lead them back into the town, awaiting the law enforcement to take them off his hands.

Blair cheered in triumph when the onion knight had took the opportunity and plucked the arrow from the serpent's neck. Apparently Hilda had been right about the water serpent being peaceful. Her ears perked up when Yurlungur mentioned it was guarding an artifact Interesting... whole civilizations her eyes widened in realization That could be my way out of weak magic. She regretted her glamoured tree plan now, the serpent had gone away without even giving her a chance to question about this mysterious orb thing! Leonara's introduction made her realize it was her turn. "Oh, hello! My name is Blair and I'm a traveling bard and performer, I specialize in illusion magic as you probably noticed and enchanted dance songs!" She smiled mischeviously, while the others had already seen her glamours and violin spell there was no reason to let them know about the extent of her mind tricks. She waited impatiently for the others to introduce themselves adding "I second questioning Cromwell, the angelic orb thing sounds... interesting."

While the group was introducing themselves, Hilda noticed that one of the warriors was missing- the magician who saved her. She took a minute to wander around the area in search of Raphael. She looked around a bunch of trees and found the tome that he used to cast his magic. Picking it up, she quickly noticed the penned pages were indecipherable. "What kind of language is this?" she mumbled softly, flipping through the pages. Eventually she closed the book and held onto it as she tried to find the mage. "If his book is here, he should be nearby too." Not far from the book, she found the mage and kneeled down to his side. He seemed unconscious but she pulled out a small bottle with a blue liquid and rolled him on his back. "I'm sorry, this will not feel the greatest, but it should help you," she whispered, unscrewing the bottle's cap off. Hilda grabbed the mage by his back and held him up so he would be able to drink the liquid. Slowly she poured the potion in his mouth and give it a few moments so he could swallow and begin to recover. "Please be all right."

From a distance, a woman with a large witch's hat and a knight clad in golden armor, watched Hilda heal the man. "That book... I heard her question the language. It has to be written in Angelic language, that is the only explanation," the golden knight said to the witch. "Why don't we strike now?"

"We'll blow our cover, you imbecile!" the witch whispered harshly, also slapping the knight as she spoke. "We will keep an eye on him, now that we know what he looks like." The witch pulled out a brown gem, "Let's head back and report this." She held up the gem and crushed it- causing her to teleport away.

"Always trying to take the fun out of everything..." the knight cursed at her, pulling out his gem and teleporting as well.
