Here's my character:

Name: John Timothy Goodwill

Nickname: John, Johnny

Age: 17

Year: Junior

Personality: A laid back kind of guy who instantly turns into a machine when it comes to his studies. He never worries about anything, but his studies. That and, of course, Nicole, the love of his life. John rarely goes out with his friends, and would rather spend his time playing video games when he's not searching for a gift for Nicole or studying.

Despite the indifference towards others, he is usually funny and and caring once you distract him from the two things that matter in his life.

(Let's get this started)

Heartbeats timed with his brisk pace as he hurries to his first class. First day of school, first class, first teacher, a first for many things. John knocks and opens the door. "Good morning," He says confidently whilst smiling. The teacher gestures him to come in and he does, wrestling his mind to stay put and focus.

John finds a vacant sit, a column away from the window, and sits down. His armchair was strewn with doodle and horrible penmanship that was almost incomprehensible. He shakes his head in amusement and takes out his notebook and pen. As the teacher introduces himself as Mister Lennon, their English teacher for the school year, John takes the opportunity to look at all his classmates. He looks to his side where a vacant seat stood, unmoving, and wondered who could his seatmate. He hoped it wasn't some bastard who would try and distract him, the other one, the girl who was chewing gum, was distracting enough.

Sam, who was extremely late, ran through the hallways of the school to get to his first class which was probably already halfway over by now. Why'd I have to miss the bus? He thought to himself. He stopped short a few paces in front of the classroom to collect himself. It'd be so embarrassing to run in panting and out of breath. Once he had calmed his breathing, Sam walked into the classroom running his hand through his hair. "Sorry I'm late." He said to the teacher. She looked as if she were glaring at him for a second but Sam decided to pretend she wasn't. "Go ahead and take a seat. You'll need this." She said handing him a syllabus. Sam nodded and took the syllabus and took the only seat open.

(Since we aren't in the same class, I'll time skip)

John's hands were sore by the time the bell rang, signaling the end of the first class. He slowly gathered his things and walked out of the classroom, saying a goodbye at Mister Lennon before stepping outside the doorway.

He walked to his locker and stuffed his notebooks when he heard someone say, "So, we meet again," The tried to sound menacing, but it came out in a cute and charming manner, like a five year old trying to sound like Dracula. John smiled, and his heartbeat started to beat fast and hard, he slowly closed his locker and looked at the girl standing beside him. She was short, her head only reached John's shoulder, and her long black hair was tied into a loose ponytail; her eyes gleamed under the lights, making it shimmer. She grinned at him, reminding John of Tinkerbell. "Nicole," He murmured her name, as if in a daze. "Nicky!" He exclaimed before pulling her in for a tight hug.

When they pulled away they shared little talks and jokes. "So, where's Sam?" Nicole asked.

"I don't know," John replied, "He always seems to be disappearing, as always." He added as he leaned on his locker.

Nicole opened her mouth to reply when the bell rang once again. John mentally cursed and said his goodbyes to Nicole and started walking to his next class. He had confessed to Nicole last school year, over a cup of hot chocolate and chocolate covered doughnuts, during the last day before winter break. Nicole was surprised, but she took it really well and wanted to think about it. John doesn't know if she's thought about it, but after that they acted like nothing happened.

Sam walked coolly into his next class glad to be getting on with the day. The first day of school always seemed longer than all the others to him, it never passed by fast enough and was pretty much the same thing every year. Introductions, going over class rules and the syllabus. He liked getting to see his friends though and catch up about what happened over the summer. As Sam walked into his next class he smiled as he saw he shared this class with his best friend John. "Hey," he said, taking a seat next to him. This brightened up Sam's day a little. I guess today won't be so bad. After surviving the maybe worst 20 minutes or so of the day in 1st period this was what made everything a little more worthwhile.

"Yes," He said, a little to o excitedly. The only thing that make History class better is being with your best friend. Sam sat beside him and John threw his arm around him. "I missed you," He pulled him closer and laughed.

When he finally let go, he took his notebook and pen just as the teacher came in. She was middle-aged woman, around her late thirties maybe, whose ponytail was tied loosely and her glasses seemed to be askew.

"She looked like she just jumped out of a car," John kidded as he nudged Sam and started to chuckle. He looked at his seatmate, taking in his bashful vibe and meek, but nonetheless wonderful, black eyes that he hasn't seen for so long.

He fell quiet after that, focusing on notes and the teacher's voice. He shut down everyone else, once again, getting cooped up in his studies.

Sam sat there boredly doodling on his notebook as they sat through the usual introductions, class rules and overlook of the course this year. He looked over at John who was, of course, focused seriously on the class and smiled. It was one of the traits he found admirable about John, how serious he was about school. It was nice to passionate he was even if it seemed a little geeky sometimes. I suppose it's also cute because of they geekiness. Sam thought to himself. He sighed wondering how he'd- if ever go the courage to- tell John exactly how much he liked him. He didn't want to mess up their friendship and he knew John liked Nicole anyways.

Sore hands made him to stop scribbling words on his notebook, he turned to say something at Sam about plans for later after school and caught his friend looking at him. He smiled at him, still pondering about why Sam always looked at him. He began to notice it last school year when he and Sam would always be together. "What?" He said, dismissing the thought.

Sam jumped a little. He blushed a little out embarrassment and smiled. "Nothing." He said. Of course it wasn't actually nothing but it wasn't exactly like he could tell him what was on his mind. I wonder if he'd be cool about it... and maybe even start to feel the same. Sam thought to himself. It'd be completely wonderful if that were to happen. But the idea of it not ending up like that and rather in a way that would crush his heart made him keep his mouth shut on the subject.

John shrugged and turned his attention to the teacher who was giving a few more details before the bell rings. He turned his thoughts to Nicole. I should ask her to have coffee with me. He smiled at the thought; she'd never go out with him alone. John thought of asking Sam to go with them, but he might feel out of place. He sighed, he wanted to really be with Nicole after school. "Hey," He whispered, trying to not be heard by the teacher. "Wanna come with me and buy coffee before heading home later?"

He paused, looking at his best friend. "Nicole's coming with us, of course."

Sam wanted to frown a little at the idea coming. Nicole was his friend and all but if she came that's all John would be focused on. Even though he was a little disgruntled because of that, he couldn't pass up the opportunity to hang out with John. If that meant watching while all of John's focus was towards Nicole he could deal with it. "Yeah, sure." Sam whispered back.

John grinned. A few minutes later the bell rang and together they filed out of the room. "Hey," He said as he started to walk away. "See you later okay?"

A few hours later and lunch came. The cafeteria was filled with the humdrum of overlapping conversations and a dizzying mixture of colors from students' clothes made the whole place look chaotic. John found a nice table by the corner where a window looked out to the field. He spotted Nicole with her tray and waved at her. Nicole waved back and started towards him. "Hey," Nicole greeted as he set her lunch across him.

"Hey," John grinned as the familiar fluttering excitement stirred inside him. "Listen... uh... Do you want to go hang out after school? A coffee, perhaps? Sam's coming with us." He added the last part a little to quickly and Nicole snickered.

"Alright, Romeo," She teased and placed her index finger in the air. "But only if you buy me a cup of cappuccino,"

John laughed heartily, feeling relieved. "Of course,"

Sam decided to wander for a bit at lunch. He smiled to himself as he thought about his plans for after school. This day is going absolutely perfect. He thought to himself happily. Sure there were a few things that could've made it better but Sam wasn't going to complain about they way it was. He walked into the cafeteria and found John and Nicole sitting together. He walked over, "Hey guys." Though he said it to both them he only really looked at John. And of course John mainly only looked at Nicole, which made Sam's smile fade a little.

"Hey, Sam," John greeted before looking back at Nicole who was giving him an amused look.

"C'mon Sam," Nicole said. "Sit here," She gestured the spot beside her as she helped Sam with his tray.

John stifled a chuckle, embarrassed. He cast Sam a "sorry, but not really" look and turned to Nicole again. "Forgive our friend here, Sam," She tucked a stray hair behind her ear. "But he's out of it today. I suspect pregnancy," Nicole shot John a mischievous smile.

John laughed aloud. "I'm not that fat am I?" He kidded and laughed again.

Sam laughed along with them. He looked at John and thought He has such a nice smile. He just wished it was him who John smiled like that at. In a way Sam felt envious of Nicole, she had what he wanted but didn't realize it, didn't realize how precious it was. But she was his friend so he couldn't be mad at her and she made John happy so he could live with it. "How have your guys's classes been so far?" Sam asked them. "I know it's the first day and not much interesting is going on but still.."

"Well, you know me," He paused, giving them a "You know me" smile. "Head in notebooks and whatnot."

Nicole laughed aloud. She loved it when John gets insecure about his approach towards academics. "Poor John. A nerd still in the stage of denial," Nicole reached across the table and took his hand. "Don't worry, once the jocks over there give you the wedgie, you won't mind at all." She added and winked at him mischievously.

John's heart skipped a beat once Nicole's warmth touched his skin. He didn't bother smiling, and laughed too when Nicole winked at her. It was like torture and heaven at the same time. "How 'bout you, Sam?" He asked.

"Eh, it's been boring. Pretty much the same stuff every year, ya know. But the classes themselves aren't bad I guess." He smiled a little. It was a little painful to sit there and watch the two of them laugh and joke around together but there wasn't much of a choice if he wanted to see John. The bell rang and Sam got up and cleared his tray. "See ya guys later." He said smiling at the thought of their plans for after school.

The day moved on fast enough and John's excitement only seemed to increase every time the bell rang. By the time he moved out of the classroom of the last class for the day he was literally giddy and jumpy. He briskly walked towards his locker and stuffed the things he didn't need and proceeded to join the stream of scurrying students towards the exit.

The afternoon sun made John squint his eyes as he waited for his two friends under a tree by the parking lot. He didn't have a car, but it was the only spot where he could see most of the students that were going home. After a few minutes, he finally found Nicole squeezing her way to the crowd. "Hey!" John called out as he waved his hands in the air.

Nicole heard him and she found him and smiled. She hurried towards John side and said, "Where's Sam?"

"I don't know," John shrugged. "Let's just wait,"

Sam put his books and things in his locker since all that would do was make his bag heavier. He smiled excitedly as he walked out the building and spotted John and Nicole over by a tree. Quickly he walked over. "Hey." he said. He looked at John who was of course focused on Nicole and hoped this didn't end up like him being the third wheel on their date or something.
