Secret Academy (Actual RP)

Vadim looked up at the teacher standing over them, staying kneeled protectively next to Darien with a hand on the other boy's shoulder to keep him calm. Vadim looked up at Mr. L, expression blank and body still completely blue, though his clothes were unprotected and the edges of his sleeves had blackened slightly. "We would appreciate it if you wouldn't 'summon' so near to us."

The creature that had popped up had frightened Darien and had made his abilities spike. It was Mr. L's fault that the fire had gotten so bad. If he hadn't tried to 'step in' and do something, Vadim could've easily patted the smaller fire out without anything getting burned.

She looked back at the people. "HAH..." She said a little loud. Since people were using their powers, she got too excited. She started to turn into a rocky formation of a human, with some emerald thrown into it. "Pleeeease don't tell me my shirt is ruined!" She quietly muttered, going back. Her skin didn't feel bare, so, she just continued to work. "Figures." She smiled at herself.

Victoria was annoyed by now and wish he would hurry up and let her go. She just didn't move at all, she could use her powers if she wanted to, but he wasn't worth it. Victoria's friend raised her hand then said, "What about Victoria?" as she pointed towards the girl that was stuck. Victoria had a straight face but in her head she kept repeating this one phrase, I'm going to kill you. I'm going to kill you. I'M GOING TO KILL YOU!!!!!

L looked back and waved to Eimin. Eimin lowered his hand releasing her from the push he had on her. L smiled toward Eimin. "You can have a seat." Eimin yawned as he sat back in his chair. Sliding into it more than sitting. Like before he slammed his head on to the table and groaned. He closed his eyes and drifted off into sleep slowly , not caring of what L would have to say. L shooed the girl away with a smirk. "You can go to the bathroom."

Victoria let out a soft smile then let out a sassy yet annoyed, "Thank you." and walked out. She slammed the door behind her. That damn teacher. I am going to kill him one of these days!! I can't stand him! He's even worse then from last year! she thought. As Victoria wandered around the hallway, her brother tapped her on the shoulder, "So how's Mr.L's?" Alex asked. Victoria just turned around then said "Worse." in a blunt manner.

(Hey guys, bell is going to ring in about 3 minutes ^.^ just letting you know)

L looked down at the boy who spoke to him. A wicked smile spread across his face as he leaned in close enough for the boy to hear. "You see child, unless I don't care about you in anyway necessary then you mean jack to me, so I will summon wherever I damn please." He leaned back up as he gave another grand wicked smile. "Now class everyone will come up and tell me about yourselves and the class, once that is done you are all dismissed."

Victoria gave Alex a goodbye hug before heading back to the classroom. She heard what Mr. L had said and she so didn't fell like going in because she had a feeling he would make her go first. Victoria stayed standing by the door not making a sound so she could her everyone. The class seemed to have let out a few sighs of annoyance.

((Thanks. Just making sure I wasn't ignored))

Vadim frowned up at the teacher until he walked away. Someone being mean to himself, Vadim could handle, but distressing a student who couldn't control his powers until they burst wasn't logical. It was cruel. Shaking his head, Vadim helped Darien back up into his chair and sat next to him, changing back until only the arm closest to his desk partner was still blue. He didn't speak again, not wanting to draw attention, but did put a hand on Darien's arm, hoping he would stay calm and reassured.

Silently, Darien allowed himself to be led back to his seat. He wasn't in any shape to do much more than that, still humiliated and more than a little shaken at the whole experience. While the life he had lived before this wasn't normal by any stretch of the imagination he wasn't used to other people having powers, or using them on or around him. So being picked up by a giant... whatchamacallit... it was the same thing as that one creepy guy in those Lord of the Rings movies, right? Golum or something? He had thought that was a name, but apparently not... In any case, being picked up by it and then dropped as it disintegrated was not only something he wasn't at all prepared for, but truly terrifying.

He mouthed a quiet 'thanks' to Vadim, then ducked his head to stare straight down at the table below him. No way was he speaking up or doing anything other than sitting and trying not to be noticed in this class, ever again.
(Renn)

That. Was. Perfect. Hah, about time someone did something actually interesting in this boring as heck school. She grinned, resisting the urge to laugh at the boy who had been so thoroughly pushed about. And, while she might not be talking about it now, you could be sure it was going to be a topic of discussion later. She couldn't wait to tell her friends in other years what had happened in her science class that morning. Freaking out in Mr. Roman's class. How stupid could you get?

Vadim watched Darien out of the corner of his eye as the instructor started pulling people up for introductions. He was worried that the stress of it would trigger flames again, or just upset the other boy in general. Trying to be reassuring, Vadim gave Darien's arm a few light pats with a blue hand and let it linger there a moment before pulling it back. It would be all right, the touch said. Vadim was right next to him and would help should anything else happen.

Thankfully, the bell rang after only four or five people had gone up, and they were able to start gathering their things to leave. "Can I see your schedule?" Vadim asked, pulling out his own for comparison. Darien wanted to sit next to each other in the classes they had together, so Vadim thought they had best decide what classes those were.

((You said it was gonna go off soon, right, Yuki?))

(Yup. Its all good)

Victoria

When bell rang Victoria let out a smirk, I got to be out of his class for a good chunk. but MY BAG! she said as she ran from where she was back to Mr. L's classroom. How could she have forgotten her bag? That was just stupid. As she arrived at the classroom, all the kids had left already and it was empty, well besides Mr. L being in there. So Victoria acted like nobody was there, grabbed her bag, and headed for the door.

Alex

Alex yawned as he walked out of his classroom. He had some pastel on his hands and a little bit of charcoal on his arms. He had just finished up with his art class. That's why he was so happy when he recieved his schedule. He got to have art first. That was always an exciting class for him to be in. He went to his locker to grab his books for his history class. History was an okay subject to him, I wonder how Vicky is... He thought as he was walking to his next class.

Coach G

Coach G got up from her chair and streched. She walked out of her office and into the gym waiting for her class. As she glanced at her rooster, she noticed this class was a co-ed class. So they didn't do it like last year huh? Last year it was an all girls class and a all boys class. This should be really interesting. Coach G thought as a smile crossed her face. What should they do... Track? Soccer? Basketball? Volleyball? Why not let them pick? she thought.

Josephine blinked when the bell rang and started putting her things away, getting up and walking out of class. The time seemed to just fly by she was hoping her other classes were like that as well, taking a quick look over her schedule she saw that her next class was science. 'Oh boy I am not good with science at all. Please don't let there be chemicals to work with, I don't want anything to blow up on the first day.' When she got to the door, she quietly slipped in and went to one of the seats in the middle noticing that it was set up for multiple people to sit with each other. She looked to the front of the classroom to get a good look at the teacher but quickly looked away kinda hoping her hadn't noticed her. She got bad vibes from that man and would make double sure to stay out of his way.

Darien nodded in answer, searching through his bad a moment before finding the schedule and dropping it quickly onto the desk before it started to get too warm and thus be in danger of, well, him.

"Here," he said, nodding to it. It was, all in all, not too bad of a schedule considering that it involved a few classes Darien was sure to be terrible at, and a terrifying science teacher.

A simple paper, with no last name attached simply because Darien didn't have one he could give. At least, none he could remember anyway. Hopefully Vadim wouldn't look at his grade point average and decide Darien was too much of an idiot to be friends with - the only class he was taking with other students of his age level (Juniors, given that he'd been held back for seriously unsatisfactory marks) was maths. And that was really the only thing he'd ever been halfway decent in, outside of artistic and movement based extras.
(I hope that's an acceptable class schedule. I just based it off of my own from when I was in secondary.)

Vadim took the paper, not offended by the way Darien wouldn't hand it to him. He probably couldn't, so Vadim just took it and looked it over, nodding a little to himself. "We have Science, P.E., English and History together. I'm taking Music and Athletics as electives, though." Vadim had never been very good at drawing or painting. His talent lay in the musical arts rather than the paper-and-canvas arts. "I'll probably be at Track practice when you have Study Hall." But it wasn't too bad. They did have a good number of classes together, so Vadim thought it would be all right. He did truly want to help Darien.

((Hey, Renn Skye :) Just checking if you're too busy to reply to our RP. No pressure))

(Yeah, I'm working on it. Trying to make Nik make a move nghhh. Lazy butt that he is.

Also RP nation is being a pain with letting me post.)

"You're on track?" Whoops, he probably should have responded to everything else Vadim had said first, but Darien was a mobile creature at heart, and anything active was bound to catch his attention first. "I'm a first year transfer so... I haven't joined any teams yet. But sports is one thing I'm actually... really good at. Not to sound constipatimated or anything. I just... I'm good at them." It was the only place he could really pride himself in, after all.

"Football, mostly. Or, uhm, soccer, I guess. But I do swimming and track and cross country and basically whatever sport I can sign up for in the off seasons for my main two as well," he added, features animated and hands moving slightly as he spoke, finally onto a subject he wasn't only comfortable with, but actively engaged and interested in. "So I'll probably sing up for track and field too - ah... if I'm allowed to, with my grades, that is. I didn't exactly transfer in with a star record. I think the only reason I passed last year at my old school was because they would've lost without a decent keeper...."

((Yeah, I think they're doing maintenance :( It's been buggy for me too))

Vadim listened attentively, though he did find himself wanting to correct Darien on whatever he'd tried to say. Still, Darien was enthusiastic about sports, and Vadim latched on to the idea that if Darien ever got too high strung without outside stimulus, they could talk about that to calm him down. Vadim didn't follow many sports, but had been present a lot of the times his family wanted to watch, so he knew some of it.

"I think you meant 'conceited,'" He offered as they walked to their next class at the gymnasium, then just continued on without any further mention of it. He didn't judge Darien on his use of the word, just thought the other boy might want to know he was saying it wrong. Vadim had always appreciated being corrected if his English was bad, even as a child. "Maybe we'll end up on the same team, then." He considered the question of grades a moment, picturing Darien's GPA from the schedule. "If you need to bring your grades up, I can help." He'd tutored some younger cousins before. It wasn't too difficult.

"Oh..." Right. Wrong word. Not surprising, Darien had a feeling he did that a lot, from the funny looks Warren often gave him. And Porthos regularly corrected him, so... not surprising, but it still made him feel yet dumber than he already had. And in regards to grades....

He let out a sigh, reaching up to scratch at the nape of his neck and trying not to look too utterly hopeless (and failing rather miserably - Darien had never been good at hiding his feelings, and at the moment he wore an expression similar to a dog who had gotten into the trash and was awaiting a reprimand from a very angry owner).

"...I don't think I can. I'm not... smart." He said after a moment. "Not smart at all, really. I'm... I'm an idiot. To just say it. The only thing I'm good at at all is sports, really."

Vadim took the liberty of putting Darien's schedule back into his backpack for him, then resumed his position alongside the other boy and shook his head. "Truly stupid people never realize they're stupid. I don't think you're stupid." He looked the other boy over, lips pressed into a thin line as he tried to think of the right way to put to words what he was thinking. In the end, he just let the first thing that came to mind come out, as he usually did. "I think you're . . . inexperienced." There. That sounded like approximately what he felt.

"If you're not good at something, it's because no one took the time to teach you." He nodded a little to himself, thinking that for most everyone that was the truth. Even simple things like running took proper training. "No one's born good at sports, either. You get taught and you practice, and you get better. Academics are the same. I'll teach you." He didn't have anything else to be doing, and he usually got his own work done early enough for it. Vadim blinked and tilted his head a bit, looking forward as he thought that this was perhaps the most he'd ever spoken to someone in this school all at once. It would be nice to have someone to talk to again.

Darien shook his head, automatically dismissing the idea. Him, learn? No. No, he wasn't good at any of this school stuff. It didn't make sense to him. He'd heard somewhere, once, that malnutrition could lead to brain damage in some cases, and that most children who grew up on the streets or in a similar situation were often unable to understand more complex ideas, and he sometimes wondered if that applied to him. Probably, but then again he could just be stupid, too. He didn't recall being particularly smart when he lived at home - but who remembers what they were like at six? And for that matter, who remembers if they're particularly smart at all? How can you judge that sort of thing.

"I don't think it would help..." he admitted, brushing off the idea. "Thank you, but... I'm just... I'm just not smart. I've never been, even when I do try. I- I have this friend, who tries to teach me, but... I think I just drive him up the wall because I never get half the things he's saying. I'd probably do the same to you."
(If you haven't realised Darien has terrible self esteem in this area. I doubt you'll be able to convince him that he's at all smart.)

((I shall persevere! \(>~<)/ ))

Vadim's brow furrowed a bit as he deciphered the meaning of the expression, checking with himself that he did in fact know what it meant to be driven up a wall. He did, something he was proud of, as many colloquialisms flew straight over his head.

Vadim shrugged. "I don't irritate easily." He said, though he realized afterwards that it was sort of a lie. He got irritated when people lied, and the irony wasn't lost on him, but he didn't mention it yet. "We won't know if it will help unless we try." That was always the truth. One never knew if they would fail unless they tried first.
