Ronan
debussy.
Hello! I'm Ronan! I'm looking for a couple of 1x1 role-plays.
What I will offer you:
What I will offer you:
- A reply a week minimum.
- Quality and lengthy responses. On average I post three paragraphs and upwards.
- I am a writer that likes detail and small nuances and symbolism that leans to the later plot.
- Flexibility and collaboration when it comes to plot making. It takes two to tango!
- Able to play any gender or pairing - however, romance is not my main focus. I prefer to focus on creating the world and plot. I am OK if romance happens organically.
- Best of all - acquaintanceship! I'm an animator who has travelled the world! Tell me about yourself!
- Be over the age of 18. It is not a judgement against your writing skill - it's a matter of being in different places in life.
- In tandem with the aforementioned, be mature. I'm fine with being silly but I like to get straight to the point.
- Quality over quantity, but never a one-liner. If you give me a strong two sentence response that advances the plot, then I have no complaints.
- I'd like a reply a week. If not, I am understanding. I'm not going to fault you for placing real life before the fictional world.
- Be prepared to offer a writing sample upon request. Writer compatibility is vital and if we're not compatible, I will let you know and the conversation will end there.
- Dystopia. I'm a fan of the fallout dystopian genre where the land has been devastated by nuclear fallout, lack of resources, the abuse of government, the erasure of history, and many other things. I want to be able to scavenge for necessities like medical packs, water, food, and see the world in a ruined state. Perhaps the Statue of Liberty is buried in the desert and no one knows what it is. People speak of legends of a mountain with many faces. There used to be things called planes that traversed the skies. The world is buried in mythology and stories of a world before.
- Cyberpunk. I was thinking of something similar to CD Project Red's Cyberpunk 2077 or Netflix's Altered Carbon or our own take on the cyberpunk genre. But what I'm looking for is the philosophical questioning of things we take for granted: humanist theory, the transparency of evil, cyber-feminism, electronic eros (cyber-sex or the use of machines to fulfil sexual desires), post-humanism (cities can be rife with beauty modifications - so what does it mean to be 'human'?), the license to dream, et cœtera. These are just examples, but I want philosophical understanding in an artificial world to be a main theme throughout the role-play.
- An idea we can do with this is classism - the further division of upper and lower class. Maybe the upper class lives high atop skyscrapers and has everything you could imagine, including eternal life, but the lower class lives in the slums where broken machines and failed experiments live. Characters can be same or separate classes.
- Another idea is there is something fundamentally wrong with the way the world is. Perhaps ignorance is strength. You live your day-to-day life working somewhere but you've always thought there was something off about the cities. The loss of humanity. Maybe you join a resistance and the resistance is trying to tear down the artificial world for a more real one. One with emotions.
- [PARTNER FOUND / CLOSED] Dark fantasy. Lovecraft easily falls into this category (and is great place to start for inspiration! Others include Bloodborne and Dark Souls.) For this role-play I'm looking for strong religious themes and world-building. I want to create a world so dark and so somber that there are raving places - desolate hills, cities overflowing with contagion, rotting seas, nameless queens and fallen monks and angels of children with six eyes. Gold chalices and dark synagogues and deformed beasts bearing dead flowers. A world so mad that death is fairer than living.
- For this setting, I am looking for a romantic pairing, however, like the world we create, I want it to be a poisonous romance: tell lies, be greedy and lustful and bring ruination. A toxic love. No happy ending.
- Regarding the aforementioned, I want it to build naturally. I don't want to start the role-play with romance in mind. The romance should be a 'side dish' to the main course.

- High fantasy. I'm looking for an original story that resembles Lord of the Rings with elves, dwarves, freeman, and everything imaginable! I want to adventure through the land, save it from certain doom, be part of a group, and more!
