Summary: After numerous obstacles in their relationship, Demetri and Abigaia are awaiting their 8th child (goodness what were we thinking xD). Oh well, now the majority of them went to boarding school and the young couple is finally on their own... With no choice but to face the wall between them now that their 'glue (the kids)'' are no longer there.

After a long and painful parting with their kids, Demetri and Abigaia were finally back to their new home. It saddened Demetri to see his kids all excited (and a bit fearful) to be living on campus now. Many of them found themselves with at least one sibling in their house, but it surprised Demetri just how different each of the kid's experience were.

When they were thrown into the labyrinth, they all used what Demetri thought them. Some of more difficulty and others quite easily. Aryanna, of all kids, worked through the challenges with a breeze with only a few obstacles and that's only because many of the elements in play were meant to make the child fail. She managed to succeed, to the surprise of even her father. She showed a lot of promise and he was very proud. Angelina didn't have the battle skills at all and when she had to choose a weapon, she chose the oddest object of all. It wasn't even a weapon but rather a blank piece of paper. She picked it up curiously and also because she didn't want to fight. She seemed actually lazy at first, but she used her brains to succeed. Sure, she had to rely on the small group of friends she made for the battle, but she was the real reason why any of them managed out of the labyrinth.

Of all the siblings, Katerina and Lukas had the most difficulty. It wasn't because they weren't smart or because they were weak, it's mostly because they were a perfect balance and they became leaders in the small group they made through the labyrinth. They took a lot of responsibilities and had to make hard choices. Some of them weren't the wisest, but some of them were very good decisions. Of all siblings, they stuck together and that's what Demetri admired the most. They had the most empathy and the most compassion. They had a lot of weak demigods with them, some of which were mostly humans but they managed to persevere through everything.

During the trial, some kids failed lamentably and were deemed unfit for the school... One kid, unfortunately, died apparently. Demetri didn't quite understand why or how, but the Dean of the school, a very good friend of Demetri ended up in hot water. Although, it seemed like the parents didn't mention a condition the kid had and the academy couldn't be held responsible. Nonetheless, most of the day went really well. They had a delicious feast, a beautiful opening ceremony with a tour of the academy. The kids seemed very excited, but they were really clingy towards their parents. They were still young and they were complaining that things wouldn't be the same. They all cried a bit, Demetri didn't even let a tear fall because he couldn't do that to his kids. He simply gave them a big hug and told them they would see each other very soon and that they had to study well and work hard. He gave them a very nice speech that made them take confidence. So, when they parted, they all had a smile waving off their parents as they left the island by boat. Demetri eventually turned his head and his smile fell as he looked at Abigaia. "Do you think they will be okay on their own?" he asked a bit worried and just need a bit of reassurance.

And now, the house was quite silent. Demetri found back his smile as he joked around with Abigaia. They ate together, visited some friends of Demetri - now friends of Abigaia - the wife of the Dean was extremely nice and very playful. Exactly the type of friends Abigaia enjoyed having. She kind of resembled Freya in that manner. Talking about Freya, they spoke with her as well as she asked after her nephews and nieces. Apparently, Hunter contacted her and wanted to meet her. Something Demetri grumbled at the very mention of his name. He still didn't forgive him for kissing Abigaia on the mouth even if he knew very well he was under the influence of aphrodisiacs.

Anyways, the day went well and the couple had a lot of playful fun that night. Abigaia was still giving him the cold shoulder when it came to sex, still not ready to forgive him for having feelings for Abigaia of another dimension. Nonetheless, Demetri immediately changed the conversation not wanting that to dim the mood even if he was kind of really horny. He just teased her, tickled her like a kid and romantically sat her on his lap as they looked at the Eiffel Tower from their balcony. They ate diner, drank some non-alcoholic wine - even Demetri. They had fun and they were playful. They didn't want to think of the kids not being there. It was especially hard for Abigaia since she was constantly calling them up, wondering why their was no noise or when she served cake. It was hard and Demetri missed them a lot. He looked at the wii console not in use for once and it was just weird. The couple actually played a bit of bowling since they could finally use the remotes. When you have 7 kids, chances are you never really get to play with the games.

The next day, they woke up tired and partially naked. Demetri held Abby in his arms and just didn't want to wake up. He didn't let her go cook breakfast or anything, just wanting to hug her and kissing the baby in her stomach. They finally settled on a name yesterday night when they were fooling around. Rosalie Skye Vasiliadis. Demetri insisted on the middle name since he found it unfair that his middle name had to live on.

A small breeze came from the partially opened window and he kissed Abigaia's injured shoulder without much care. For a while now, she eased up on showing her real colors. Demetri and her have been working on healing the most severe injuries and Abby's vision was much better. Not perfect but she could see with Demetri's eyeglasses. They finally found a perfect pair for her and Demetri couldn't stop making references to a naughty secretary and how he always wanted to have one. The young man shifted a bit under the covers, nuzzling his nose in the crook of her neck as he closed looked across the room. He could see Abigaia from the mirror and smiled.

"Do you really love me unconditionally?" he asked her.

The question would normally come out of the blue, but today... it held meaning. Yesterday was really emotional for Demetri, even if he didn't really say it, it showed in his eyes and how he was acting. It was a bit weird and was lonely until Abigaia bumped up the game, making him play around with her, dancing, fooling around like lovebirds. At first, she just wanted him to smile but he pushed the game a bit as they started roasting each other and going a bit crazy. Though, it quickly became romantic. He was unable to keep his hands from her and kissed her passionately. Not once, but many times throughout the evening. His hands roaming the skin she allowed him to touch and he was so kind that day. So, kind and delicate. That's when he told her he loved her. It was so simple, yet so different. He just said those three words as they were, but his eyes were... words wouldn't be able to describe them

"I love you," He said. "Forgive me for who I am," He plead and he would repeat it, over and over again. Apologizing for who he was, what he'd done, and he would become...

He didn't expand on anything really, but it wasn't right. It was clear that he was debating internally and he was about to tell something to her, something important and what she wanted to know. For years now, her instinct told her something just wasn't right with this guy. He was hiding and hiding, but he always denied it. Sometimes, he couldn't say so and it only reinforced her belief. She stayed with him, love blinding her from his flaws and accepting him as he was... But it didn't mean their relationships deteriorated in consequence.

Demetri, realized that yesterday night. He was with a woman who just wanted to know him. He trusted her with his children, the most precious beings in the world...yet he couldn't trust her with himself? It didn't make sense and he was in turmoil inside. Was it a good decision to tell her everything? Should he even bother? Would it be dangerous?

"Will you be able to love me after I tell you everything?" he asked her quietly. He wasn't sad or anything. He slept well and he seemed okay, like he found his answer, which he did. He decided that today, he would reveal everything about him. No more mystery and he will tell her everything she wants to know.

"Because I'll tell you everything today... I'll show you everything... because I don't want us to be like this anymore. I want us to mature and know each other. " he said as he caressed her stomach. "And I know that... you will be... infuriated with me for hiding, or more omitting to reveal those aspects of my life, " he said very quietly unsure of the outcome of today, but it would certainly change their life.

Looking at her worried eyes, he chuckled a bit wanting to make it a lighter mood... for the conversation to go smooth and all. "No, don't worry, I don't have four wives in Dubai... or more... illegitimate kids...I think." he said hesitantly before pushing himself up from the bed. He pressed his back against the headboard and tugged some of her hair behind her ear.

"And yes I probably lied on a few occasions to cover up my tracks... I'm ashammed of that but habits take time to wear off... Unfortunately, " he said as he tugged his knees to his chest and looked at her with a small smile.

Leaving her children behind was never going to be easy. Abby knew this as surely as she knew herself. Because for a decade they had been her life, her world, her motivation. No matter what went on in her love life, her personal life, her work life... they were always just right there. Loud, boisterous and perfectly imperfect in her eyes. Each one was their own person, and she loved each and every one equally. It was a love that never wavered or faded, and leaving them behind was more difficult than she ever could have imagined.

But when Demetri turned to her and asked: "Do you think they will be okay on their own?", she had only one answer. It wasn't one that she needed time to think about, but rather it was instinctual and easy to say. "Yes. I'm certain that they're going to be just fine," she answered, not looking at him as she spoke but instead looking down at her swollen pregnant stomach as she ran her fingertips over it. "They are our children after all. And they're strong, smart.... and they have each other," she told him, choosing to look out at the water as they sailed away.

All she could think about was watching them in that labyrinth, and how much she had wanted to jump in there and help them. But they'd done it. They'd completed their first trial and passed with flying colours. And sure she was a little worried, but she knew she had to let go for them more than for her. In this world of theirs, she couldn't afford to coddle them any longer. Plus it helped that she knew her sister would be keeping an eye out. If anything went wrong... someone would be there in an instant.

***

The following day, Abby awoke only to be told that she was to stay in bed where Demetri could keep an eye on her. Not that she needed someone to keep an eye on her specifically. But he was being clingier than usual, and she was sure that if he wanted to tell her why then he would eventually. So she just let him cling to her. Seeking comfort for whatever it was that was upsetting him, as she too sought comfort to try and forget that she missed her children. She assumed that it was the departure of their children, and the distance that had formed between them in their relationship. Despite his attempts to reconcile and her reluctant attempts also, there was something very wrong. She knew it was probably mostly her fault because she didn't really want to reconcile. Despite her best efforts, she just couldn't forgive him for loving someone else. Even if that someone else was a version of her.

It just hurt her too deeply to forgive him so instantly this time.

"Do you really love me unconditionally?" he asked her, and she turned her gaze to look at him briefly.
"How can you ask me such a thing after all we've been through? Do you really not know the answer already?" she asked rhetorically in reply, feeling that it was better to make him think about it than for her to just say the words. If he hadn't believed her thus far, then her saying the words wouldn't change his mind.

"Will you be able to love me after I tell you everything?" he added quietly as if he hadn't even heard her and his expression struck her as odd. Something was off with him. He seemed determined about something and she desperately wanted to know what it was.

"Because I'll tell you everything today... I'll show you everything... because I don't want us to be like this anymore. I want us to mature and know each other. " he said as he caressed her stomach, feeling as their daughter nudged her father's hand. "And I know that... you will be... infuriated with me for hiding, or more omitting to reveal those aspects of my life, " he added after a moment and a sense of foreboding gripped Abby. She began to feel nervous, almost not wanting to know what it was that he was going to tell her but knowing that she would never rest again until she knew.

He chuckled and continued, without Abby saying a word and she knew she didn't have to. Demetri could read her like a book. "No, don't worry, I don't have four wives in Dubai... or more... illegitimate kids...I think." he said hesitantly before pushing himself up from the bed and Abby rolled her eyes. She knew that he had plenty of kids to go around, and she often found herself reaching out to help them more often than he did. Not that he knew this. She had adopted two, the boys; Lukas and Noah. She had Joseph enrolled in a scholarship that she funded. And the others... she found ways to help them.

He sat up, leaning against the headboard and began to fidget with her hair which annoyed her slightly because she just wanted him to get on with it.

"And yes I probably lied on a few occasions to cover up my tracks... I'm ashamed of that but habits take time to wear off... Unfortunately, " he told her, bringing his knees up to his chest as he gazed down at her. She didn't move, just watching him and waiting for him to make a move. She didn't want to frighten him off. This was the first time he was really opening up to her, and it annoyed her that it had taken him this long to do so. They'd been together for fifteen years. They were married with children who were well on the way to being adults themselves, at least in the eyes of Demigod society.

Her eyebrows furrowed together, creasing between her eyes which too narrowed slightly as she focused on his face. Slight wrinkles formed in the pinched-up parts of her face but faded quickly as she relaxed her expression and opened her mouth to speak. "You'd better tell me then, Demetri," she said in a firm voice, letting him know that if he didn't tell her all of this now then there would be no telling her ever. This was his one chance to get everything out into the open, and if he didn't... well then they were as good as finished in her eyes.

A chuckle escaped his lips as he just dragged both palms down his face. "Ya, I'd better tell you then," he said slightly sarcastic with her greek accent. This wasn't going exactly the way he wanted, but he knew he was being too optimistic in his head. Telling her everything and expecting only a loving embrace and suddenly they would shatter that icy wall between them. Not really what was happening right now.

"I don't understand why you have to be so hostile these days...Here I'm trying to open up and you make it even harder for me. Like, why can't we make it a light subject? I already have a hard time sharing these stuff because a whole council is against what I am doing right this second... I risk my own life work here, but all you do is making it about you... How I didn't tell you that stuff and how I hurt you when I don't share these stuff... and getting all pissy about it even when I explicitly tell you I will share everything with you. It shouldn't even matter to you that much. Most husbands...In fact, most couples still have some private life to themselves. We don't have to share everything to another. You don't see me picking at your life story unless you want to share it." he ranted with growing annoyance. He gently kicked his covers off of him and gave his back to her as he walked to his closet. He wasn't sure what he was mad about right now. Was it because she wasn't reacting gently? Or was he mad that he kept it this long unnecessarily? Was he mad because he knew this wouldn't fix their relationship, but probably harm it more? He wasn't sure.

Reaching his wardrobe, he started pulling out an outfit for the day. It was actually new clothes he'd bought and it was very different from what he usually wears. In fact, a lot of him didn't seem the same. He'd changed quite a lot since he came back from the prison world. A lot of thinking, but he spoke out a lot more... He wore more rebellious clothes and didn't care as much about saying random facts about him like how he hated growing up in a human family not so long ago. He sometimes spoke to himself at night, but upright like he was having a discussion with someone. He started cooking, surprisingly enough. He watched aggressive porn and would close the window if Abby caught sigh of it...He was horny, no hiding that but it was very generalized. It was burst of it when she moved around, especially if she turns his back to him or spoke back. Since he came back, he randomly asks about her father and did ask if anything happened between him and her in his absence... Certain things that he probably wouldn't know unless she told him, yet found out.

As he started wearing his top, he recited something in ancient Greek and some portal opened. He reached inside, his arm disappearing it and finally pulled out some items he placed on the floor. One of which was a large bowl with folded papers on it and another was a large leather book case. The portal then closed and he turned to look at her as he changed himself. His stomach grumbled a bit, clearly hungry since it was almost noon but he didn't mention anything.

"The bowl contains questions from past, present and even future me. Basically, any questions or topics I don't recall talking to you about it... I just kind of wrote it there for you because you always complain about not knowing what to ask. Which, as I always said, you just never really bothered to look into me or deepen a conversation with me." he said. "The bookcase has all kind of books from investigation logs, my diaries, my... whatever you want to call them... It's basically books where I wrote shit. Maybe something in there interests you. The books on my office have a spell on it for anyone other than me will just read a diary written by a human... So no magical mention or anything. I made sure the spell could include you and me to read the actual content... But really it's just random shit like how I almost overdosed or how I feel guilty about stupid stuff like arguments with you and all..." he explained calmly as he placed his hands on his hips.

He looked at her, his eyes roaming her body and settling on her ass. He could feel his heartbeat but it wasn't time to just eat her up with his eyes. He had to push that lust away from now, but it was just so hard to do it when she was practically naked in front of him, especially since he hadn't had sex in months since his return.

It was March now and his feels were all over the place. Since the end of January, he's been home but it was a rocky ride. He ended up being in that world since September and he lost half a year with his loved ones. When he came back, his body was skinny and he needed a lot of rehabilitation... Then he needed to bond with his kid once more and his wife, plus find an explanation for his human family. Nothing was the same now. It was strange. He was always stuck between two realities, but now it felt like nothing was really real. Everything seems like a bunch of messed up destinies in one. He was lost in his realities, but he wanted to have control once more. That's exactly what he would try to do in the next couple of weeks. Get the control he needs. FIX his problems, FIX his issues and GET shit rolling.

"So? Any Questions, Comments, Critiques,... Punches...?" he asked a bit arrogantly as he started kicking the bookcase towards her side of the bed as he held the bowl of questions. His arrogance, as she knew, typically meant that he was covering up his hurt or his shyness. Whichever it was, something she said or did bother him and he was letting some arrogance leak to cover up his real feelings right now.

Abby hadn't moved from the bed while he spoke. She didn't feel like she needed to, what with her protruding belly and swollen feet. But when he started talking she wished that she'd run off to the bathroom or the kitchen while his back was turned. "I have just one question," she told him, as a sinking pit formed in her heart. "Am I going to like what I hear or am I going to find out that you've been lying to me for the entirety of our relationship?" she asked him, not daring to look up as she reached out and placed her hand on the bookcase.

Slowly she turned, pushing herself to sit up with her legs hanging down off the side of her bed. Her hair was a mess, flung up in a bun but still messy from where she'd been laying down, and she wasn't wearing any makeup. In fact, she wasn't even hiding any of her scars. She was at this moment who she truly was, and it was sort of fitting when you considered that he was trying to do the same.

The fact that he'd accused her of being hostile hadn't helped to improve her mood any. If anything it had made her feel worse. Because she wasn't trying to be hostile, she just felt like she needed to guard her heart a little better. After losing him for months and devoting all her time and energy to taking care of him and the kids, she'd been devastated to find out that he'd fallen for someone else. And even now she couldn't quite forgive him for it. Even if she knew that it was selfish of her, she just couldn't. It would take time, but he just wanted to jump straight back in and it was causing problems. He wanted sex and companionship, but she wanted space. For things to go back to how they were before. Not in their relationship previously, but in the days when they were too busy and not on top of one another all the time. She wanted some space. But she daren't say it out loud.

Was he that bad of a husband? That question pondered in his mind for quite some time now but her question simply confirmed it all. He was a bad husband or at least for her. It dawned on him just how little joy he brought to her and it wounded him. His eyes dropped to the floor as he slumped down on the bed. He stared up at the ceiling and shrugged his shoulder's. "If my pain brings you joy, all of this will make you happy. " he said quietly. He contracted his abs to lift himself up. He opened the leather bookcase and looked up at her.

"This one," he pointed at," It's my first diary. Trust me, it's all about my grief and meeting Apollo...The source of all my problems. The very beginning of me. Why am I the way I am? How was I as a kid? My current personality and all my sexual deviations, all that crazy Freudian shit... You can read it in here." he said as he picked it up and opened the book. The pages were yellowed and it smelled of dust. Demetri coughed a bit before placing that book on the messy bed.

"This one... All my fluffy teen romance... My first problems with girls, with my parents, with trust, with drugs, with authorities, cause you know me young equalled being arrested all the time and being bailed out by my parents' money... It's also my..." he said catching a breath, "Beginning as I start demigod work. First time I met Freya, and all type of things I'm not really proud of showing to my wife... It's not exactly dating conversation material unless you like the bad boys... which now that I think about it, you do... damn maybe I should have brought it up earlier" he said trying to do a joke, smiling a bit but it was half-heartedly. He then skipped two more books to mark a separation. "All of these are before I met you," he said, looking straight into her eyes. This hurt, this really hurt. Everything in his being was screaming in distress.

"The rest is after I met you. The fluff, the sad, the happy, the depressed, the rollercoaster of emotions surrounding my world not because I met you but because of the timing of everything really. You will like some stuff, dislike some stuff, realize some stuff, or just completely reject me... I really don't know, to be honest. I barely remember what is inside those books... I mean I can't recall the entire content but they are diaries."he said. He stood up to stretch and walked towards her to tuck a strand of hair behind her ear.

"When you write those things, you don't expect someone to be reading them at some point." he said before dropping his hand to his side. "You are... diving into my being. My feelings and thoughts as unreasonable or uncoordinated it is with my behaviour." he said.

Standing up, right in front of her. He realized how tall she actually was. She was the perfect height for a kiss, and he wanted to kiss her. He didn't. Despite her imperfections and wounds, she was beautiful. His heart would only beat this hard when he looked at her no matter the shape, no matter the size, no matter what dimensions. At that moment, he knew just how much he loved her. He would never, never do this for anyone. He would never reveal or even accept these things to himself. He loved her, he loved her, he loved her. With or without the soulmate bond, it was there... Not a person in this world could make him feel this way. Not a person in this world deserved his trust like she did.

"But those are only small details of me... my life... my...sickness...my thought process...my reflections... It isn't really what you are looking for. " he said. "What I think you want to know is my work... You will love it if you have ambition for our kind... You will hate it if you are against it... I don't know. I think you will like it. I hope you will like it. I worked hard to achieve what I have now and...we are only a few months from revealing ourselves to the world. Ready to face it head on if any resistance." he said as he looked at her, his fingers fiddling. "A brighter future, for our kids and those who do not have the chance to have a loving father or mother like you. To not be taken advantage by the Gods... he said, his eyes finally revealing themselves to her. A fire burned inside of him as he spoke those last few words. He believed in it, he really did. He didn't know where Abby stood in there, but he hoped it would be in his camp.

"If you want to see that project of mine...Where all my work, all my business trips, where all my energy goes towards to... You just have to ask me and we can go there as soon as you are ready." he said decisively and he tried to force himself a smile, but it would drop back if she didn't smile back.

He was a total mess, no kidding about it. Yet, with this complete mess, there was some clear work involved. From having all those questions nicely folded in that bowl from organizing those books into that bookcase to un-spelling those investigation logs for her to grab and read. All of this meant that he wanted to tell her all of this for quite some time but just didn't know when, how, or where to start.

" I know it's maybe already too late. Maybe you should have known these the moment we got back together the first or second time ... but I wasn't comfortable telling you. I'm... I'm not good with feelings and sharing... Even what we have, it took time for me to accept it and you know that..." he said recalling just how difficult it was for them to even become a couple. It wasn't really in regards to length of time. It really just came down to him accepting the reality of things.

"And I'm sorry for that. For being reserved more than I should be. You are amazing, you are the wife a man could dream of... But I'm not the husband a woman wants. I know that. And I am sorry." he said as he opened his palms upwards looking at her in pain.

"I am talking way too much but I have to fill the silence or else I'll shut back down and I don't want that... Not for us. We... You deserve better. So, please say something" he practically begged with his eyes.

"All I want to know is you," she told him simply, looking up into his eyes. "It's not that big of a request, to want to know my own husband. So I don't know why you're getting all...." she said before trailing off and gesturing her hand up and down in his direction. "Well, I do. I know this is hard for you, but I've proven time and time again that I'm here to stay and I'm not going to change that now," she explained as she stood up slowly in front of him. Her hands automatically went to her stomach and pulling her tight fitting tank top down to cover her skin.

Reaching over she picked up the book from the bed and carefully turned it over in her hands. And then, instead of opening it, she placed it on top of the bedside table. "Want to get some food first? I'm hungry," she told him, not reaching out to touch him or really giving him any comfort. But at the same time, she didn't lash out. She knew she was being cruel by not being affectionate but she didn't know what she would find inside the books. She didn't want to comfort him now only to lash out later if she found something that would hurt her. "Because I really want a BBQ bacon sandwich," she added, licking her lips as she gave him a small smile and made to move past him. But before she could make it out of the door, she stopped and turned back. She picked up the book off of the table, the one that he'd said was the first one, before waddling barefoot back to the door.

While nodding in agreement, Demetri stood up and walked beside her. "Can you blame me though for being worked up?" He asked rhetorically. " I wasn't part of this world for two years, I fought hard to come back to the real world... I missed half of my wife's pregnancy in this world. I go full rehabilitation and then get abused by the other Abby. Then, my wife accuses me of loving another woman and now builds a wall between us. " He explains as he reaches for her shoulder and swiftly (but carefully) picks her up bridal style.

"And on top of that... I am so horny and so nervous to get this done before our baby is born. Last time you had post-delivery depression and it wasn't fun and I want this to be settled by then. I know I'm making it sound like some business transaction but yeah... I just want to be over with the past and live the present. Little by little. " he explained to her as he walked towards the living room adjacent the kitchen.

"So, you want a BBQ Bacon Sandwich? Do you also want a side of pickles with peanut butter dip and a decaf?" he asked her thoughtfully. "It also comes with a foot massage if you ask," he teased as he slowly placed her on top of the sofa.

Their living space in Paris was... limited compared to New York or any other estate they had really. They had one tiny kitchen with a decent living room. No dining room, the master bedroom is on the main floor as well. They have a small entrance with a staircase a bit further down which leads to one small bedroom and two large living room. The second-floor living room was morphed into two large bedrooms. One for the boys and one for the girls, the extra bedroom became the nursery.

It wasn't that they couldn't afford a bigger place. It's just they much rather live in a smaller house now that the kids were in boarding school. They could invest in something bigger if they really wanted to. Demetri never saw it as just temporary. He would live here until he got bored of it really. He was like that, never able to settle in one country. He liked to move around. New years, new projects, new lives. That's how he saw it. That's why he chose the location of the house over spacing.

"I don't blame you for being like this Demetri, but it does make things a little more difficult overall," she told him as he sat her down on the sofa. She would have complained about him picking her up, and wiggled or struggled until he put her down. But she knew that he just wanted to be close to her. They weren't doing all the couple-y things that they had done before all this had happened. He wasn't wrong about her building a wall between them. The only time she really let him near her was on the multiple occasions every day when she would let him talk to and touch their baby daughter. Because even when she was at her most annoyed and frustrated with him, she would never withhold his children from him without good reason.

((I'm ignoring your description of the house.... Since Abby was meant to pick))

She took a quick look at the place they'd made their home and she couldn't help but love it. He'd let her pick where she wanted to live, so she'd chosen this adorable little three-floor Parisian house. The ground floor was completely open plan. The main living area, kitchen and dining area were all one room, with both sets of stairs over by the front door and a small door leading into a lavatory. Everything was white and open. The floors and walls were all white, which might sound like too much of the colour but they'd used furniture to bring colour into the place. There was a large rug on the floor, and the sofas were all a duck egg blue colour. Everything in this part of the house were shades of blue and browns, and somehow it all seemed to work. A large double patio door stretched across the back wall, and through it was a deck overlooking a small but sweet garden. On the deck was one of Demetri's few upgrades, a hot tub, concealed from above by rafters that were woven with ivy. And though Abby couldn't use it yet, she was looking forward to the day that she could.

Upstairs were rooms for the kids when they were around, though they were more like dorms, with en-suite bathrooms. One for the girls, and one for the boys, and each was kitted out with all the kind of things you would find in a spoilt child's bedroom. Gaming systems and toys. Abby thought it was over the top, but she also liked that it was all here. It felt like the kids were just away for the weekend. And you could see the personalities of each of the kids in their personal effects. From posters to books and drawings. And Abby could tell exactly whose was whose.

Downstairs was Abby and Demetri's bedroom, with a smaller room attached that they'd turned into a beautiful nursery even if it was a little cramped. The nursery fit the crib and a storage unit for their unborn child's clothes and nappies, but very little else. When she started to grow they knew they would need to come up with a more permanent solution, but for now, Abby was happy with it. She was happy with the whole house actually. And moving into a new place, was like she was starting over. Which was what she wanted to do. Not just in her relationship, but with her whole life. She wanted to try new hobbies and experience lots of different foods. She wanted to meet new people and she wanted to fall in love with this beautiful city that they'd come to.

"So, you want a BBQ Bacon Sandwich? Do you also want a side of pickles with peanut butter dip and a decaf?" he asked her and she thought about it for a moment.
"Not the coffee," she replied. "I'm not in the mood for the jitters that it's starting to give me. But I'll take the pickles," she asked as she moved slightly on the sofa. She turned so that she could sit with a view of the kitchen and slowly opened the book. It was the first one. The one of his earlier years, and she couldn't help but find the first few entries incredibly sweet. In fact it reminded her a lot of how Enzo was.

((You will get more tomorrow but this is all I can do for now))

"I know it's difficult. It's never too late though," Demetri said. His hands rested on his hips as he looked at her take her 'order', she wasn't as caring as usual. Normally, at this time, she would tug him on the sofa telling him that she wanted him for breakfast or something dirty like that. If she was in the romantic mood, she would have given him at least ten kisses since they woke up. The worst of all is that he never really hid anything. Well, he did but on more than one occasion he said something about it, leaving hints for her to ask him. Talking openly was hard but if she asked him directly, he would answer her truthfully.

This made him wonder what really made her so unease with his past. What about it makes her think that he is so untrustworthy? He didn't know but hopefully, he would get to the bottom of it and understand her better.

"Don't hesitate to ask me any questions... by the way. I mean the diaries are pretty much a collection of events in my life but I remember them all crystal clear. Maybe... we could talk about it together later tonight?" he proposed as he walked to the kitchen to prepare her meal. He considered making a dish for himself but decided that a cigarette was more than appropriate right now.

Demetri grabbed two toasts to put in the toaster, the bacon, some cheese, the extra healthy vegetables you put just to say you had a balanced meal really. While the bacon cooked and the toast roasted, Demetri grabbed the mini pickles and put the peanut butter, trying to make it look nice as he placed it on the plate. Within 5 minutes, it was a nice set up on a plate. He then grabbed a glass, poured water into it.

"If you want, you can come with me to work. I just need to finalize some things before my paternal leave. I could give you a tour of our current projects... The ones you don't know," He proposed.

His eyes adverted to the French brand cigarette, Le Parisien which he didn't particularly like but it was the only one left from that shady guy. He grabbed the pack, pulled out one of the cigarettes before taking the lighter. He stood up to go to the nearest window and he opened it up. He started playing with the fire until he finally lit up his cigarette. That first blow felt extremely relaxing and his whole body relaxed with it. He leaned against the wall, the picture hanging beside him of his family. They always insisted on him quitting smoking but it was so hard. He tried! Abigaia was a witness, but after everything that happened a couple months ago, he restarted and strongly.

If I could lock this all up in a bottle
Fill it with stones, I'd throw it into the water
And watch it as it drowns

“You don’t need to force yourself too, Demetri,” she said, not taking her eyes off of the page. “You’ve never wanted me to see all of that before, probably for good reason. And I don’t want to intrude on your work. I’d just be a hinderance. The literal elephant in the room,” she told him, keeping her voice cool, calm and collected.

Demetri bit his lip like whenever he got nervous, ”You are an elephant even in this room,” he said before bursting into laughers. He threw his cigarette before rushing to her side laughing but knowing that making fun of her size was... unwise. He kneeled down beside her, a wide grin as he laughed. “ Ok I deserve a slap for saying that. It’s just a joke though, I swear”

“Get the smell of smoke away from me or this elephant going to puke all over you and not bother trying to hold back,” she told him, raising her eyes from the page long enough to give him a death stare.

Demetri laughed as he kissed her on the cheek with one hand on her other cheek. “Oh please my favorite elephant. We both know you love french kissing me after cigarette and coffee. I didn’t get my morning kiss now that I think about it. Am I punished for that as well?”

“Yes,” she told him bluntly as she pushed him away. She knew that if he stayed close to her like this then she’d most definitely give in. And she was pretty sure he knew that too. “Now didn’t you promise me breakfast? You know what... never mind, I’ll make it,” she said, without pausing for a moment before putting the diary down and shuffling forward on the sofa so she could push herself up.

“Ouch, you poked my heart...” he pouted fake crying, the same way Lorenzo or Jonas would do. He rubbed his chest before looking at the table beside him. “Abby?” Demetri said as he looked to the table and just pointed to the table. He started laughing, “It’s been here for the past few minutes. I didn’t know I was such a good writer young,” he said laughing once more. “So absorbed. What lies you definitely want to come to work with me and find out what the fuck I’m doing when not keeping my human cover,”

Now that there was space on the sofa, he sat down right beside her, one leg stretched across the sofa. He then hugged her from behind. One kiss on the nook before going up the neck, “Do I feed you now? ” He hushed. “or...Maybe... we could have a little fun on the sofa while you eat?” He said with a naughty wink. “I think... I think I’m a little hungry for something down there,” he said, two fingers walking down her side going towards her little paradise.
