Scroll of the Monk...

Does anyone know how detailed the write-ups will be? I mean, if the book is nothing but naked charm trees, I'd be kind of disappointed. I hope it includes the philosophies and principals of the forms etc, just for the sake of distinguishing MA from the other combat abilities. With the exception of enlightened DBs Martial Arts in exalted never really wowed me thematically.

You mean kinda like what they did for the Player's Guide styles? That'd be pretty nice...

Pure Damage huh? I wonder how it will mix with Tiger Style.

I think its gonna have talk like how the PG did.  Probably talk about why Immaculates get extras with their sig weapon.

Or more indepth about each initation toward the perfected lotus.  I don't think they'd ever just give a book of charms and their trees.

Oh, yeah, pure damage. If you want to be a SHS user get resistance and dodge charms because SHS only helps to hurt and maim.

I'd like to see one on mortal thaumaturgy. An expansion of sorts.

I have, for some time, been thinking of throwing together charm trees for mortals with essence mastery; they can learn terrestrial MA styles, so why not a few shitty charms for other abilities too? Problem is, I can't think of much that is supernatural while not matching DBs that would be worth buying at all, rather than raising skills instead.

Meh. Still, more thaumaturgy, please. I expect the new sorcery books will be sold under the "Scrolls of Wisdom" heading.

I would have expected the new sorcery books are going to by sold under "the Books of Sorcery" series instead, no?

~FC.

maybe the salamain?
Possibly, but not in a book all to themselves.  Most probably in one of the 5 Celestial Directions books that focuses on Malfeas and the cults that worship them.

Edited twice for stupid spelling mistakes.

Agreed, the Salmalin aren't big enough for a whole book. Very few things are in exalted.

It seems like we can count on some form of drunken boxing to make it into this book. One of the writers for it practically confirmed it on RPG.net. He didn't come right out and say "oh ya drunkn boxing will be on pg 93" or anything, but he DID say to wait for the book.

Of course, this post of mine explaining his post is actually bigger than his original post... so, uh, here: http://forum.rpg.net/showpost.php?p=6235249&postcount=5

just in case noone reads it, the next book in the series is...

Scroll of the Lesser Races

and will cover the Dragon Kings and Mountain Folk.

Why Lesser? Lesser in comparison to who?

I mean, Exalts are just souped up humans, not a race in and of themselves. And both DKs and MFs are stronger than humans, for the most part.

Perhaps numbers?

well neither MF or DK matter for one flying fuck in Creation.  Creation belongs firmly to humanity, the glory days of Reptiods and Dwarves has long past.
