Preparations for an upcoming sci-fi thread. Inspired by: World Trigger, RWBY, Warframe, A Certain Scientific Railgun

Main Idea:


Earth gets attacked by aliens, and holds 'em off for two years. In the said time-frame, a new tech to overcome the obstacle is crafted - C.O.R.E. It is now used by agents in the F.E.R.A. to fend off the restless invaders. Roleplay focuses on a number of F.E.R.A. trainees under harsh conditions.

Why are aliens invading?


State of earth - semi-apocalyptic


C.O.R.E. - Combat Oriented Resistance Equipment(?), name to be reworked


             - Secondary heart, enhances user multiple times


             - Unique traits per user


F.E.R.A. -  Foreign Entity Resistance Agency


F.E. - Foreign Entity, alien codenames




Foreign Entity Resistance Agency (F.E.R.A.)


- Established at the Year 2023, with the support and funding of the most of the nations. It has a base on each of the continents, where the agents take their respective missions. It is also within those bases that the various C.O.R.E.s are manufactured, as well as the training of aspiring agents. Every base monitors F.E. activity within their territory, and acts accordingly. All casualties attained within their missions are taken care by the government of the nation wherein the mission was held.


- A base has at least 100 active agents, not including the staff.


Foreign Entity/ies (F.E./s)


- Alien lifeforms threatening the Earth's existence and stability


- Came from various planets from a different system; went to Earth for different reasons, namely resource extraction, territorial conquest, predatory instinct, etc.


- Different appearances, and abilities, classified into types by the F.E.R.A.; currently have 30 types known


Combat Oriented Resistance Equipment (C.O.R.E.)


- Developed as a counter measure against F.E.s by a research and production team consisting of the various personnel - Thomas Green III, Reia Paige Sandoval, Asato Takuro, Alberto Guarneri, Kim Sun Yoon, Nakasone Misao, and Eleonora Ilyich.


- Acts as a secondary heart and brain, placed near the heart of the user and connected to the various veins and nerves. It enhances the user's senses by multiple times, based on the compatibility of the user's body and the C.O.R.E. stability


- There are several C.O.R.E. augmentations that allow the user to perform even greater feats such as defy gravity, faster regenerative abilities, and so much more. However, these are all depend on the user's preference, and compatibility with their desired augmentation.

Just a couple questions you can use or ignore as you see fit.


1) On the state of Earth - are the various nation-states of Earth still alive and kicking or has Earth united under a single government to face this existential/external threat?


2) Are the F.E.'s humanoid or totally bizarre/out-of-this-world-creepy?


3) (Somewhat tied to number 1, but not necessarily mutually exclusive) Are all the forces of F.E.R.A./any other human forces fighting against the F.E.'s willing to work together, or are some using the chaos and instability of the alien invasion to try and gain political power/influence over society?


Seems like an interesting setting, will be keeping an eye on this.

1) On the state of Earth - are the various nation-states of Earth still alive and kicking or has Earth united under a single government to face this existential/external threat?

Well, it would make sense for Earth to unite under a single government, but there's too much trust needed for that to exist properly. Various nations are still alive, though some have joined forces with the stronger and more economically stable ones to ensure survival. Let's say they are all allies when it comes to working against the F.E.s but they are not entirely friends with each other.

2) Are the F.E.'s humanoid or totally bizarre/out-of-this-world-creepy?

I'm still trying to decide on this matter. F.E.s being humanoid will mean that they have some sort of civilization or an advanced form of humanity, but the other would mean they are primitive/instinct-based. However, I'm slowly inclining towards having F.E.s various forms/types.

3) (Somewhat tied to number 1, but not necessarily mutually exclusive) Are all the forces of F.E.R.A./any other human forces fighting against the F.E.'s willing to work together, or are some using the chaos and instability of the alien invasion to try and gain political power/influence over society?

All F.E.R.A. agents are willing to work together when they are under missions and supervision of F.E.R.A. officials. However, that does not stop them from using their C.O.R.E.s for other purposes behind others backs.
