Fantasy School of Hidden Haven

Echo had fallen into a skip once more arms spread out in a T when possible as he took up half of the semi-empty hallway. He was prepared to simply venture the many identical hallways of the school until stopped but didn't expect it to come so soon and from such a familiar source. His white boots slid to a halt at the sound of Chloes distinct tone and he quickly flipped his head around to see her. The albino boy smiled brightly, different colored eyes shining in the sun which peaked through the glass windows.


"Everything's been fine, she just recently began doing the physicals for the students to have more up to date examinations while I'm taking care of the less used equipment and her office. What about you and Dori? I'm sure your having lots of fun."


Ms. Lauren nodded solemnly, her fingers skimming the thin edges of the papers now in her grasp. Just like Leon and Dorian she saw each student as a member of her family, and just like a mother she only wished for them to have good memories to overpower the bad ones.


"I'm sure like anyone you have work to get to Dorian," she still couldn't get past her habit of calling him by his whole name. "But maybe we can talk later, lunch or something."

 

[Bea Delaine]

"I would like that Ms Lauren. Find me at some point and we can.. talk." With one last smile, he walked out to make sure minimal collateral damage has been done since he left.


Through her bad mood from before, she changed upon seeing her happy friend and felt a huge smile replace her slightly sour expression.


"Yeah.. we have been working on schedules, and student files and other stupid junk. Dori says im not allowed to do the exam this year and you sorta have one every day, huh? Oh! Dori has been acting funny! I think hes gonna crash soon if he doesnt get a personal day."

Ms. Lauren gave the man a smile as she spoke her own farewell of agreement before retreating to her nearly complete office. She unlocked the door with her personal key she didn't allow anyone other then herself to own before stepping inside.


Echo rubbed his bare upper arms as he giggled at the girls words. Though he did question slightly why the girl shouldn't be allowed to take a mere exam that would only seem to help her in most given cases. But instead contributed to the Dorian topic,


"He seems to act different the most around Ms. Lauren." He didn't mean much by it, unaware that it may mean something.

 

[Bea Delaine]

"Mm yeah, 'cause he likes her. After you know cute little dori for a while, you can compare him to a dog. He cant say when he likes something but he practically does anything for them, wagging a metaphorical tail."


She laughed at her own analogy. "Im looking forward to having.. a normal year. Maybe." She looked off for a second, then grinned again.


"But we wont ever catch a break, huh?"

Echo hides his mouth behind his pale hands palms as he chuckled, finding her analogy to be creative. And he imagined the man he held respect for as a dog, wearing a tie instead of a collar.


"I'm dumb, I didn't even think of him having a crush on her." He stuck out his tongue slightly, and brought his arms up and behind his head.


"Ya, and since a guy seems to be interested in us and Leon wants to talk we aren't all the way out of it yet. But I can see us having a good year, everyone's recovering even the bad guys, and that gives us time to prepare but also get a slice of normal. Or as normal as it gets."

 

[Bea Delaine]

"Normal for us.. as in school life with a side of explosions.." she laughed, but her eyes dropped to the floor.


"Doris gonna try to get me help soon, or whatever that means, so im not sure how much time i have to taste normal.. so we hould celebrate the restoration of this place, okay?" She knew it was something about control, but she didnt care. This place was home and not something she would ever leave.


"So.. should we find people?"

Echo smiled lightly at her words before clasping his hands behind his back and looking ahead.


"Maybe we can celebrate with a get together! Everyone hasn't been together for awhile, there could be Wolf and also Dori, and....um." He paused trying to think of more people other then the obvious but gave up.


"Tons of people!" He clapped his hands together excitingly, "it could make this school feel more homey." The school was fairly close to it's old styling, yes. But it didn't give off the same aura, his feet seemed to make more of an echo now. As if the Unknowns occurrence had hollowed out its old spirit as well.


"Let's go see Leon!"

Chloe gave a goofy smile and swoftly did something she hadnt in a while. She picked the underweight albino up in a swift hug and laughed.


"Maybe we can recruit new students into out clan of weirdness!! But for now." She took off the where Leon was, mentally prepping herself to not rip the head off of the smug stranger.


"Onwards." Making sure Echo was with her, she returned to the place she left the old friend.

"Echo, good to see ya kiddo. How's it going?" Leon greeted him with a warm smile. "As you know I've got news. Not great news, but fairly urgent."


Richter stood by, arms crossed, seemingly surprised by Echo's stature. "You're Echo?"

Echo was pleasantly surprised when the girl hugged him, and returned it happily. Wrapping his arms around the smaller girls build and giving her one last tight squeeze before letting her go.


"Maybe, but they'll need to pass the quiz of weirdness. They need to be able to juggle, dance terribly, and...and be creative enough to come up with a third thing." He snapped his fingers, proud of himself for making up a few standards to meet though they shouldn't even count. Before following the girl, humming the familiar melody from wizard of Oz.


But the tune stopped abruptly when they were in the same room as Leon and a stranger he couldn't recall anything of.


"Everything's great, and I'm ready to hear it." He mused with a crooked grin before waving to the stranger who seemed surprised about something.


"Yup, and you are..."

"Richter. I've been sent by the committee" he replied, crossing his arms.


"Well we've received threats by our old pal, regarding this school. Regarding you specifically Echo." Leon told him as he shook his head. "We've set up extra protection with Richter and I. The school may be in trouble so we'll take any help we can from any newcomers as well. It'd be a hell of a lot easier if Wolf would wake up from whatever he's in"

 

[Bea Delaine]

Chloe arrived and quickly scowled at the man. She didnt like him looking up her friend in such a condescending way.


"Echos terribly Strong. Dont under estimate him." She said with a cool tone. As in cold. She didnt know why his presence made her angry.


"Hes the stupid dude who came here looking for us."

Echoes smile gradually faded, his fingers wiggling themselves into his pants pockets quietly. He wanted to thank Chloe for her kind words which referred to his strength but with the more serious mood befalling the room couldn't form a sentence.


"Do either of you have people in mind that could be useful?" He eyed each person in the room, and thought of Wolf. It felt like it had been so long since his last interaction with the tempered teen. But he had collapsed one day, and has yet to wake it. The memory of Ms. Lauren informing them of his tricky and confusing condition caused Echo to finally exert his worry on his expression.


"And what do you mean by, specifically me?"

 

[CrashDash]

"I've got a few folks in mind. I can't tell you much about it, but he made a threat telling you to watch out" Leon said as he fidgeted with his lighter. "In the meantime I'll find these recruits, you guys will keep with Richter here, and head to your rooms I suppose. It's getting late, you guys call if ya need me"


Richter frowned hearing he was to fraternize with these people even further. "Very well" he simply spoke.

 

[Bea Delaine]

Chloe frowned and looked away, nodding to Ritcher slowly. This whole thing. She wanted it to be over.. geez. She was half on the way to celebration. Shooting Echo a worried and frustrated look, she dropped her gaze again and shook her head.


"Hey.. im gonna.. maybe. Wait no. I think i killed the computer. Im gonna find some work to get done."

Echo couldn't comprehend how he felt when information about him was being hidden from him. It seemed there was more to it, but he knew pressing wouldn't help his situation.


It'd help no ones.


"Call us down when you find some good people, I want to meet them." He fumbled with his lop sided belt as he spoke, then looked up when Chloe began to speak. Announcing her leaving to tend to whatever she may find.


"I'll stay here and learn more about um.." Echo had forgotton the mans name, they were told it mere moments ago and he forgot it already.


Wing it.


"Richard, ya. That is if he's okay with it?"

Lorelei after many long minutes of searching the identicle hallways gave up and retreated outside to a wooden bench. The wood still warm from the setting suns rays, soothing the slight chill on the back of the brunette a exposed thighs. Perhaps a teacher would confront her as they pass and point her in the direction of where she needed to go, save her the humility of needing to ask.

"It's Richter, and there's nothing topical nor relevant to discuss" Richter replied as he walked in a nearly efficient manner.


The night fell as Leon sat beside Lorelei. "So, you're Lorelei huh? I've heard a bit about ya".

 

[Bea Delaine]

Chloe passed through the halls she knew so well, face scrunched in frustration. Her hands crystallized and reformed in pulses. Maybe she could tell Dori, but he would get concerned.. reasoning for her recent distance. As she passed through the halls, she spotted a pretty but lost looking brunette dressed in blue. The girl seemed lost. A perfect moment to help out.. until Leon came by. Insteax she waved and offered from afar.


"Hey. Need directions?"

 

[CrashDash]

"Nah, I know this place pretty well. There's folks you need to meet" Leon scribbled Echoes room number open a small piece of paper. "Go to this room, speak to Echo, you're here for a reason"

 

[Bea Delaine]

(Wait. Whos he talking to?)

Down the hall skipped a girl whistling, her black hair flowing as she went. She saw Chloe, and bounced behind her. Echo froze his body unmoving as he didn't move, hearing the rhythmic tap of Ritchers shoes gradually disappear. Finally moving once they disappeared, to which he let his arms fall letting out a deep sigh.


"Oh...Of course that was his name..." The teen whined before walking towards his dorm as Leon had instructed.

Lorelei tugged the cape of her coat over her legs hiding them under the rich blue. Until a man came beside her, she looked up with widened eyes fearing that he may offer her candy or question if she liked puppies. But when instead he began speaking with her name, her eyebrows furrowed instead into one another but took the paper with her fingers none the less.


"Okay, thank you." The brunette spoke uncertainly staring at the sheet quietly before pushin herself off and onto her feet with soft thuds.


"I'm going to go then, this Echo guy better not be a trick." And with that she began in the direction of what pleaded to be correct.

 

[Bea Delaine]

Chloe looked to the dark haired girl and nodded. She cant judge by appearances here.


"Hm.. yeah. What do you need?" Chloe offechloe offered with an attempt of a pleasant smile.

"I need to find an old friend of mine. Wolf!" She said excitedly bouncing around as she did. "You guys have had him cooped up too long, where is the guy?"
