*People often mispronounce her name as "Lamia", which has accidentally resulted in the creation of a myth of a lamia goddess in a certain lizardman village.
*Her family name was originally "Treedance", but over the generations became shortened.
*Despite taking pride in her old age, she often lies about it to other races. They make her feel self-conscious about her real age from the perspective of short-living races.
*Due to her connection with the shadowfell, she has a bigger connection to the undead (which she hates) and hears whispers on occasion that she cannot understand, coming from the shadowfell or its denizens. The main times when this happens are when she casts spells as a sorcerer (as opposed to as a wizard), tough her magic carries an ominous aura in general. Reactions to this vary, as citzens of Grovetall have come to consider this aura a symbol of her might, but many see it as a threat. This is part of what may make her seem intimidating despite her childish appearance.
*She's learned a few disguise skills, though she's no master of disguise. She at least knows how to make false elf ears from her time growing up in disguise
*Her immortality is based on transmutation magic- this means her body is not so much on a constant state of stasis, but one on a constant state of reversal that contradicts the innitial state of progression. This makes smaller wounds faster to recover from (no mechanical benefit, just lore) but prevents her from developing her body past a certain extent. Because of this, her dexterity comes from her intense training to pass as an elf by seeming as nimble as possible.

    Goals:
    Moroi's goals are divided into her own desires and the duties she inherited from her fallen sister. She is a goddess with a deep sense of superiority, one who wishes for praise, power and to stand above others in such a way that never again will they dare mock her. She knows she does not have the power for this, however, so instead she chooses to bubble up in her own realm most of the time, where she can at least pretend to be superior there, her own kind of dream.

    However, she also has inherited duties in becoming the goddess of youth and dreams, ones which she proudly takes on as a second-hand sign of her victory. She seeks to protect the children of the world and their innocence, but also foments the dreams of young people, pushing them onwards to seeking out those dreams or otherwise, to let themselves slip into their own imaginations. She takes care to nurture the inner child in people and ultimately wants them to choose to reincarnate in her realm rather than the mortal realm, where she can take care of them forever.

    Personality:
    As expected of the goddess of youth, Morois has a very childish personality. She is a playful prankster who gets bored with ease and can be inconsequencial when in search of her goals and entertainment in general. She's vain and the kind to be rather vulnerable to praise and bribery, though she isn't completely witless either, often enjoying to inflict poetic justice upon mortals who half-heartedly attempt to earn her favor or who do wrong against children under her supervision in general. She is also surprisingly patient and willing to hold back despite her competitive streak, as she understands that her powers are rather weak compared to that of most other major gods. Because of this she's become a coward who prefers underhanded strikes out of spite if she takes any action other than running and hiding at all.

    Perhaps to vent her frustration, or perhaps just because she is like that, Morois has a bit of an inferiority complex which leads her to recluse in her own realm most of the time, wherein she can feel superior to warped world and youth-bound mortals around her. However, far from a tyrant, she is instead mortherly and kind to those mortals. In fact, she has a deep affection for children in general, alive dead or even fake ones. Celebrations of youth and the release of one's inner child bring joy to her heart. She is also a big fan of comedy, slapstick in particular, and pranks.

    She has a relative ease at becoming bored and hates seeing things stagnate. She has earned the title of "goddess of generations" not due to a domain, but due to her propencity to incentivise youth to overcome their parentage and elders, to promote overturning whatever the old was in the name of whatever the new is.

    Bio:
    Morois was one of the last gods to be created, one of the youngest to exist among the major gods, born as the goddess of curses. While her position should have been undeniable in her view, she was mocked by the minor goddess of the moon, youth and dreams, Lunar. Though Moroi could change her shape, but yet still be mocked.

    "You remain but the same, for your true form is none other than the one which I saw. You may change your shape, but in truth, you remain none other than that creature. For mortals themselves know of this: It is the moon they shall see and whose light shall guide them in the night. It it is dreams that shall lull them to rest. But though even in death there is glory, in a curse there is but disgust, fear and pain, and is in the sight of you."

    At such an insult from a minor goddess, Moroi would not stand. She challenged the goddess with a bet: Each would make a champion who would fight in their behalf, with no aid of other gods. Should Morois win the bet, she would take the dreams away from the moon, she would take the moon goddess's true form. Should the moon goddess win instead, Morois would swear servitude to the awe of the moon. To even the scales some more, the challenge would take place in the moon itself, where the minor goddess could harness the most influence.

    The moon goddess crafted a champion of youthful vigor that thrived in the then vibrant moon jungles, connected ever so deeply with the moon itself. Morois on the other hand, crafted a champion that was old and decrepit, but cunning of tongue and shameless in means. Morois secretely cast a most powerful curse upon the lands of the moon, that would wither away its life from within, cause the lush forests to fall into white dust and its light to dim and have to borrow from the sun. The day of their challenge came, but Lunar's champion was ill, their connection with the moon providing no strength that wasn't offset by the weakness of the moon's current condition. It was an effortless victory for Moroi's champion.

    Though Lunar felt cheated, Morois was quick to point out that no rule had been set against such tactics, and that in fact making use of her own domain was only to be expected- after all, it was a bet between the goddesses. The Lunar goddess's pride was too much to not go through with the bet, yet she wouldn't go without revenge for the afront. She told Morois that in fact, to fulfill her agreement, Morois would have to chop her own head off, so that Lunar could place her blood directly on Morois. Morois did as she was told, not suspecting that Lunar would then squash her fallen head underfoot, and use the blood to pass a curse of her own along with the form, now that Morois was vulnerable to them.

    At that moment, Morois was no longer a deity of curses, but instead took the moon's true form for herself, however, when bathed in the light of the fullmoon, the monster she once was will reveal itself, forcing her back into that form. She obtained the domain of dreams and youth from the moon goddess, while earning the domain of trickery for her deceit. The goddess of the moon is now forever bound to endlessly shapeshift, and the moon itself to have phases.

    This led the serpent to come and scold her for such actions. Morois couldn't understand why this was happening, why after her wit and cleverness in response to the mockery that was made of her she had to be lectured by the serpent. She cried as she heard the sentence and grew much resentment towards the serpent, but had no choice other than accepting her punishment and fleeing to her own realm.

    Now Morois is confined to her own realm, and can only come down the mortal's realm with a tax on her power, that causes her to be only able to use a spec of her divine power.

    Powers:
    Shapeshifting- Like the other deities, Moroi is capable of shapeshifting. Her shapeshifting offers remarkable versitality, with it's only real limitation being the need for whatever she shapeshifts into to be very young. This includes objects, making her only able to shapeshift into recently made objects or objects which have been recently invented. The one exception to this, is that she can turn back into the monstrosity she once was, now beheaded, or a relative of it, an enormous green worm. She loses her ability to shapeshift and is forced back into her original form when bathed in direct moonlight however.

    Concealment and Illusions- The power of concealment, that allows her and her creations to escape even the grasp of the other god's domains, to fall from their memories. While it has no power that could so much as rival another god's, it can nonetheless avoid their magic, as if they never had been there to begin with. As a goddess of trickery she is able to hide what is there and show what is not, to convey visions or illude the mind and memories.

    Rebirth- In her lies the power to control the rebirth of creatures, both those who were alive and those who passed. She can restore or preserve the youth of mortals (or take it away) and and can have them, if they choose, be reborn in her own realm instead of the mortal realm or another after life.

    Curses- The leftover magic from when she was a goddess of curses leads Morois to still have an exceptional dominium over them, being able to create ones even other gods might have trouble removing without her help (though they can only affect mortal races).

    Memory Manipulation- she is able to manipulate or even drain the memories and minds of mortals who fall to her trickery or request it. She can do the same to other deities, but only if they are willing or if she has enough help from other deities in the process.

    Dream-walking- She can manipulate and enters the dreams of mortals and other deities alike.

    Personality:
    Aíma is a rather subservient goddess with a child-like aspect to her. She sees Morois, her creator, as a mother and still yet as a goddess among gods for the opportunity to ascend into one herself. This can, however, go the point of obsession as she desires Moroi's approval and attention to such extent that her main purpose in spreading vampirism is simply to make an undeniable mark on the mortal realm .

    She is generally a polite and respectful goddess who wholeheartedly believes vampirism is only rejected because it is unknown. That once it becomes sufficiently spread it will become accepted and permissable, no, desirable among the mortal races. She's also one for subtlety rather than brute force, she prefers watching cunning plans and flawless strategies rather than mindless power or savegery, though she herself is prone to rash decisions when angered. And she is a little too easy to anger.

    Bio:
    Aíma was created to be Moroi's champion in her bet with Lunar. After Morois won the bet, she gifted what remained of her head for Aíma to bathe in, as a prize for her victory. With this, Aíma ascended to become a minor goddess herself, one blessed by the current Morois with youth, but which also inherited Moroi's former domain of curses. This combination gave rise to the domain of vampirism within her.

    After the serpent banished Morois, Aíma became her official emissary and agent in the mortal realm, being in charge of spreading her worship, convincing mortals to try to go to her realm and helping to prepare means to aid her should she ever wish to visit the mortal realm.

    Powers:
    Vampirism- She has the power to transform creatures into vampires. She is also able to drain the power of other beings when biting into them, albeit gradually.

    Curses- As the current goddess of curses, she has access to an array of powerful curses.

    Shapeshifting- She can transform into a bat (or several), an old decrepit woman or a weave of shadows.

    Inhabiting- provided the mortals use the right rituals she is also able to possess certain statues or even one of their own bodies if so summoned. The extent of herself that inhabits the mortal or statue determines how long this can last, as does the strenght of the vessel.

Personality:
While she generally has a bit of an attitude, Tsuki does have a sense of inborn curiosity to her that, much any of her passions, can get her easily excited and energetic. She's the kind of person who hates to comform to anything, who despises "normal", and can seemingly always find something to complain about. Though this can sometimes make her a bit of a hypocrite, she will adamatly defend her positions and is truly capable of taking a role of a decision maker due to her quick wit and organizational skills. However, what she has in the ability to plan, improvise and organize, she lacks in experience and tact. Even for someone with her curiosity there's only so much she can learn about in a quick succession and mistakes, be it through lack of knowledge or pure distraction are inevitable: In fact, given how easily bored she is by diving into a topic for too long, this is pretty much certain.

She's the kind of person who likes making friends and absolutely despises being alone. Loneliness caries a sense of dread to her, yet even if she wasn't unable to directly communicate with most people, she'd probably still struggle to make new connections, as she is unable to understand how self-absorbed and needy she's allowed herself to become after years of almost religious pampering from her village, she takes people giving her what she wants as almost common sense, especially when it comes to her gluttony. This doesn't mean she doesn't care about others though, but her understanding of caring about others is more of an impulse she can't explain than an idea she consciously or actively has. She's someone who likes longer food both because it will take longer to eat and it feels like she is eating more, but also because it's easier to split and share. If one does manage to tolerate her behavior though, she can become extremely clingy (and then deny it).

She may be too stubborn to allow herself to be cheerful, but she is someone who genuinely enjoys playing around, the occasional prank and spending her energy in outside activities, especially now that she doesn't tire nearly as much. She is an entusiast of exploring and trying things out, thus reversely hating confinement. That said she will stay put and behave under threat rather easily. She's the kind of person who retracts into herself and stops trying to actively persue things when they seem impossible.

Story

Backstory:
Tsukiko was born in a remote, isolationist village. Her village was founded right next to the fallen corpse of a titanic fallen ethereal, which had been partially buried underground. The inhabitants had become great magic users, as they learned to twist the magic on the land for agriculture, the development of cures and magical items, etc... However, both because of the feud that innitially led to the separation, and the arrogance born from their continuously increasing magical capacity (as a result of being continually bathed in the magic being released by the titan's corpse) they grew highly isolationist, concealing and protecting the village from any outsiders, or in the failure to do so, trapping those outsiders in the village either by tying them down with bribes or a marriage, or by force.

Matching her name, Tsukiko was always a very nocturnal child and absolutely adored the moonlight. She would often sneak out alongside her younger sister Usagi, soon as they were both able to run. It was all but extremely common for children to be taught magic from an early age in their village, rituals of protection, fortune and growing crops. Unlike her sister though, Tsukiko had little curiosity for magic. She didn't hate magic, but she had a much more fervant inclination to play and explore what her own two hands and feet could do out there, she was fascinated with tales of sailors and knights who used not just magic but their own bodies in their struggles and adventures, she wanted to try all kinds of things and hated being conventional. Of the magic she learned, lockpicking was the first did of her own accord.

A problem was soon to be discovered in the village. It had been in the know-how for some time, that the village's birth rate had been steadily declining the past couple of decades. However, none could have expected it's sudden and utter stop. No woman would get pregnant. Any child already in the belly breathed their last breath before their first. Most people were too prideful to leave the village or allow couples with no members from the village to stay there. Tsukiko and Usagi would soon be seen as something entirely different from what they were before, they weren't just some children, they were the village's last children.

Adults around them started becoming overprotective. They weren't allowed to play, and any magic they used was strictly supervised and non-harmful. Their good was tested for them, the best medicine saved for them. Children who dared trying to make fun of them would end up with a beating, and the least said about uncooperative adults the better. Everyone watching over, this form of atmosphere, their mother couldn't take it anymore, and Usagi was falling sick and starting to have issues too, she was too young for this kind of thing. In a rare time alone, Tsukiko's mother ended up blurting it out, and Tsukiko told her to run. She put a note on her mother's pocket, then at the first opportunity, used her magic to escape. While the villagers were in a frenzy looking for her, Tsukiko's mother escaped with her sister.

The escape was successful, but Tsukiko herself ended up being caught. With her sister gone, the villagers were more desperate than ever. They placed in a large storage room, and enchanted the walls with all kinds of protective and sealing magic, so as to avoid her even attempting to escape again. Tsukiko was given books she could read on the one spot with light, she was given food and sheets to sleep, and water to drink, occasionally someone would bring her toy. While at first people would try to talk to her, someone expressed pity for her at a meeting, and in a panic over the possiblity of a repeat of the previous time, talking to Tsukiko became forbidden.

In the meantime, the titanic ethereal's corpse continued to emmanate more and more magic. People were attempting to solve their issue, but the magic was starting to become too powerful: attempts at healing or rejuvenation were forcing people into pre-conception, attempts to make women fertile were creating monsters, even the simple magical agriculture they had been doing for centuries was starting to produce unexpected results like mutated food.

Then, one day, it all stopped.

A brief moment without magic.

Then, a flash of light.

In a second, all life in the area was gone, destroyed in an unprecedented magical phenomenon, a burst of energy powerful enough to cull a good part of the forest and open craters into the ground and the mountains. The only thing that survived was the villagers homes, which had for centuries been enchanted with extreme protective magic. Though even those ended up in ruins, if still mostly in place, there was one place that didn't even budge: the storage room were Tsukiko was.

Everything was gone, and so there was no one to watch or attempt to prevent Akiko's escape anymore. She, however, didn't know the difference. The seals were still in place, and with the charge of magic, they would be for a long time. But now, there was no one to open the doors from the outside. No one to bring her clothes to last the winter, not even food or drink. Between the cloud and the dust covering the only windows, there wasn't even light anymore. All Tsukiko could do was sit there, waiting, wondering why nobody was coming.

Many decades passed, Tsukiko waiting in that room. She didn't even realize she had long since starved to death, those memories repressed by the shock of death. She also didn't realize the magic she was receiving from a source she couldn't phantom. To her it was no different from when she was alive, being supplied by the magic well. She finally felt the magic of the seals weakening enough that she could escape. She wandered around the village, confused about what happened and where everyone was.

Some time later, strangers started coming to the village, entering people's homes, destroying things, talking about "rennovating the ruins". She tried to tell them they couldn't, but they just ignored her. If they were going to mean like that, then she was going to do something about it! They were still her dear village, her dear family, there was no right for these people to come and wreck the place!

Magic Known:
Type-magical creature: Being that she is an ethereal, not a human, she possesses natural magic in accordance with her species, thus allowing her to use that magic without rituals. However, unlike humans who can learn the kind of magic they please if they are so capable, she is unable to learn magic she didn't know before her death and isn't provided by her species as a magical creature.

*Fortune Inducement: She is able to induce good or bad fortune upon people with her magic. She has little control over this, and it tends to be mostly affected by her mood. When she wants to direct it more precisely, she tends to use a ritual, not out of necessity, but as an aid.

*Phasing: She is invisible and able to pass through objects. Does not work against objects with magic, unless those objects have only very small traces of magic. She can temporarily turn people or object she is holding invisible as well.

*Contact Telekinesis: Able to use telekinesis upon objects she's been in contact with in the last 3s. It's not a strong effect, she can essentially make a car float slightly if she is holding the car, for instance, or so it looks to an outside observer.

*Fear Inducement-replication: She can use magic that replicates the fear of her dying moments, a burst of light, the chill of winter, total darkness...However, one particular feature of her fear inducement is that it is able to contain magic, as if frightening the magic itself into being pocketed who knows where, replicating the magical seals that prevented her escape. However, using this particular type of magic tends to have backlash for any large-scale endeavors, forcing her to relive those times as she attempts to use it.

Type- Ritual Magic (from when she was still human)

*Growth Magic (plants, basic agriculture): Used for agriculture. Requires wooden sticks, some polen from giant bees and a making rising dome with one's hands around the place where one wants the plant to grow. Causes a seed of existing plant to grow. Cannot be used to grow a plant taller than oneself.

*Lockpicking magic: three thin metal strings, some writing with the word "open" and the first 10 numbers in the language of the maker of what one wants to unlock and some spit are required. Dip the tip of the string with the spit and pierce the paper with it, then insert the string onto the lock and whisper "open quickly".

*Water Magic (minor production): Requires a container that can be pointed to, and while doing so stating "I beseech for water, oh mother". Can create up to a small puddle of water. Cannot be used more than once every hour.

*Fortune Magic (charm): The method for producing a single good luck charm for the day. Results vary. Redundant with her magic as a ghost, but she knows it nonetheless.

Ghosts- The Work of an Afterlifetime

According to the leading especialist in ghost arcanomy and morphology, Dr. Zali Richter, ghost-family etherals are defined by the gathering of great amounts of magical energy that form into a sentient embodiment of a being's regrets, typically a human as they are found to have the most intense emotions of all sentient beings. The ghost-studying community is currently divided in regards to whether ghosts are actual lingering souls that remain trapped by the magical energy and their own regret, or whether they are simply an image of the regret of a dead person, without this implying any post-mortem phenomena.

This week, we sat down with the doctor whose classification system came to revolutionize the manner in which these spirits are viewed in modern research, to have him explain a bit to us of what this is all about.

"Ghosts certainly claim to be the real deal, however, many don't realize they have passed away, and once their regret is erased, there is never any further comunication from them, they appear to vanish from existence entirely. We may never know the truth." The doctor told us. We inquired more about the types of ghosts there are, and what they can do. For ease of understanding, he provided the chart below, then explained the terms.

It would appear that ghosts have a twofold classification system, according to modern consensus. "Lesser"; "Median"; "High" and "" are classifications of Tier, the measure of the ghost's amount of concentrated magic and hence of their overall power. Ghosts are also classified by their regret, this is the type of regret that keeps them bound to this world. Experts have created four labels to classify the type of regret a ghost may incurr in, from "protection" (a regret associated with the love for something or someone, or the desire to protect it) to "vegeance" (the hatred for something or someone, or just extreme anger towards one's fate). There are also "attachment" type regrets, where the desperation to not abandon something, often life, is what binds the spirits (incidentally the doctor told us these are the hardest spirits to get rid of, as some cannot be ridden of their regret) and "wandering" whose regret appears as a form of denial or extreme confusion, rather than a purpose these ghosts are unable to accept the usually sudden circumstances that led to their demise.

According to dr. Richter, ghost-type etherals typically display their magical influence in a form associated with their regret, however they do have a common basis. Ghosts typically are capable of using magic that causes misfortune, magic that induces fear, contact telekenesis (for those not informed, this is a form of telekenesis that, as the name would imply, requires one to be touching whatever is manipulated) and phasing magic (that makes them invisble and able to pass through solid objects). The type of regret then modifies one of these types of magic. Protection ghosts are able to cause good fortune in additional to misfortune, and more powerful ones are able to use telekenisis that forms barriers. Vengeance spirits can cause great physical harm instead of simple fear (as no doubt you are aware) and eventually are able to feed on and reproduce fear. The attachment types are unable to phase, but are easily able to possess even as weaker ghosts, and are later on able to attach others to their cause as well, and wandering ghosts have unrestricted telekenisis.

"Entity-tier ghosts have confirmed to us researchers that to them there isn't much of a difference between phasing and possessing. It's an extra step of "locking" versus the extra step of "passing through", the difference between kicking the ground and stomping your feet." The doctor concluded, waving at his daughter who was waiting by the door with a tray of freshly baked cookies. "Excluding magic from their previous life, while different regrets lead to different magic, in the end of the day all ghosts are able to do four things: Manipulate the materialization of fear, use telekinesis, induce certain fortunes and "occupy" things and places. Hopefully the knowledge that ghosts are limited to these four magic, and any magic they use is simply a manifestation of these, will be helpful for those who have to deal with the most hostile among their kind and in future research."

The interview concluded with a feast of deliciously warm chocolate-chip cookies shared by doctor Ritcher and the whole team. While no one can know for certain what's beyond this life, it appears the doctor's work will certainly outlast his and be heard of for generations to come. Other fields have begun their own attempts at finding new and innovative methods of classification like dr. Ritcher's, some with more success than others (who can forget last week's abhorent "Sphix's Classification by tail shape" or the controversial "Genie Ethnical Classification").

Either way, his work is most certainly appreciated in his own field, as was the time he took to sit down to talk to us, and your time to read this article.

    Personality: Puella is a jovial girl with a strong sense of adventure. She is competitive and loves a challenge, but more than anything else she loves new experiences, be it a new view, making a new friend, or even learning from her own defeat. While this doesn't mean she doesn't give her all to her battles, she has a tendency to see battles as a game, even if she is fighting "the fate of the world" against a horde of demons or dueling for her honor, in the end of the day she's the kind to strive for a satisfying battle rather than the certainty of victory, and thus can be just as satisfied in loss as in victory (well, maybe a little less).

    Hearing this one might come to expect some battle-hardened veteran or badass mercenary, but the fact is that Puella just doesn't like thinking of "the hard stuff" which "coincidentally" happens to include most stuff. The fact of the matter is that she's a bit of a clutz and pragmatic though she may be, start trying to have a conversation with her with too many abstract concepts or big words and it may get her head spinning fairly quickly, if she even tries to keep up with the conversation at all.

    While she's not incapable of strategizing, her strategies tend to be short-term plans to deal with immediate situations or simple strategies that may account for her opponent's strenghts and weaknesses, if she's managed to learn them at all, but which don't account for her opponent's potential strategy or counter-strategy. She's the kind to fight more by instinct, especially since she has to rely on her ability to do the fighting, while she essentially takes a back seat to the RPG-ish battle instincts instilled onto her body.

    This ability may not be something she utterly, but it is something she sees quite a number of inconveniences on. Her current goal is to level up quickly so that she can reach the chef class and attain a sense of taste.

now, a brief explanation of how the class and skill systems work for this character.
Puella is able to acquire classes, which can be levelled up to 10 each. A given class gives her a set of skills, which can also be leveled up to 10, though these are leveled by repeated use rather than an overall progression of her body.

There are two main categories of classes: base classes, and advanced classes. The main way to learn advanced classes is by evolving (turning into) or merging (combining into) 10th level classes into the desired advanced class. Sometimes, other requirements must be met as well, like the weapons meister requiring [mastery] with at least 1 weapon and [ advanced proficiency ] with four more. because the first level of an advanced class is automatically granted, it does not count for the total class level.

While normally impossible, Puella has access to the monster evolution system as well thanks to her [ Hybrid ] class. This allows her to further evolve her body, even becoming a new species after accumulating enough levels on her body.

One begins with 22 stat points, and gains 5 each level. More stats can be obtained through race bonuses, class skills and equipment.

Skills level up individually with pratice, regardless of the class level. They like the classes can go up to level 10.

Personality:
As a guy, Niseko is definitely an..."intense" person. He is a virtually shameless ball of energy, mischief and playfulness, and it only gets worse when he really gets into a project, at which point he can become obsessive and pounce on you for bringing news. He is also surprisingly competitive for someone who always claims to be meek, seeming desperate to perfect his act and appear "cute" to the world, the cutest, cuter at least than his female self could be. He enjoys getting reactions out of people without having to straight up lie, especially if he can garner a lot of attention with his cutesy and also often flirty acting.

While he may be straightfoward with his interests, it can be hard to figure what he is thinking at any given moment, because he tends to act airheaded and cheerful at all times. However, he is actually rather cunning and strategic, a side that doesn't often show on his face unless it's the kind of situation even he can't help getting serious about, and you can be sure you're in for hell if he's that angry. At such times he truly becomes a vengeful and ruthless person, though unless you break a promise with him or are getting in his way too much you shouldn't incurr this kind of behavior from him. He has learned composure from his training as the company heir after all, not to mention if people saw that cold, "I'm gonna murder you" stare, they might not look at him as that cute anymore. ;)

Most of the time though, when he is not teasing people, he is trying to help them. In fact, he often does both at the same time. He's got a kind heart that can't be moved when he sees someone helpless, and try to be the help they lack. He hates the idea of people having to be subjected to cruel, almost fates they did nothing to deserve, and dreams to one day become a nurse or a doctor to help such people. That said, he understands this dream conflicts with what he was raised to become, and thus doesn't expect to actually get to fulfill it.

Backstory:
Niseko is the only son of the head of the Tsukiare conglomerate, a massive group with shares in many of the most proiminent modern markets, and with ties in the highest and lowest points of society alike. As the one expected to become the heir, Tsukiare was given an intense early education to make him worthy of taking his father's place in time. His mother of course wanted to pamper her child, and would sneak at any available moment to do so. Niseko was quick to develop a shrewd attitude that seems to alwatys walk on the fine line between breaking the rules and still technically staying in line. This wasn't the only thing that was drilled into his head though. He became all too aware of his own importance, and developed an ego that looked down on those less accomplished.

One day, his father hired a particularly odd tutor. He was a former world-renowned scientist, but now willing to work for an oddly cheap price. It didn't long for Niseko to figure out why he had fallen so low: Depite clearly having a sense of duty and courage, he avoided touching people at all costs, he would sometimes start randomly making animal noises and she had yet to see him using an untensil to eat. He found it fun to tease the man, until one day after a surprise but pinching the man slapped Niseko, then screamed and ran away. Little did Niseko know the slap would forever change his life.

He woke up the next morning (his 9th birthday) with a massive mingrane and two weird boxes floating above his head. "Choose" he heard in his head, and yet he didn't understand it. Was he supposed to pick one of the boxes?

He quickly realized the more he waited, the worse his headache got. He hurriedly picked the first option and went back to sleep. When he woke up, he felt something was different, but he didn't understand why. He looked around his room, everywhere he looked there was pink. Posters replaced with idol posters, a large mirror he never bought, he leaped out of bed and rushed down, barely realizing then he was wearing bunny footed pajamas. What happened? What kind of prank was this? As he arrived at the kitchen, he was shooed upstairs to get dressed, the adults seeming confused at his frustration. Worse, they added to it, forcing him to get on a dress, and then dragging him outside claiming "she was making a fuss".

It was the worst birthday ever, at least for him, and it seemed everyone was in this prank of him somehow being a girl. He'd even been fooled into at checking at the mirror, and under his pants, but he was still the same old him. It was only when he saw the photographs, completely changed into pictures of his parents with some blond girl that he understood there was more to this than met the eye. His suspicions were confirmed when he received a letter from the runaway tutor, who explained to him that he had been passed "the curse of choices", a contagious curse that forces three reality-altering choices onto the cursed, then is passed along to the next person to be touched that hasn't yet been afflicted by the curse.

He tried everything to try to show it wasn't true, that this wans't some curse it was just a prank, but all it got was worried looks and scolding from his parents. His mother, however, got a therapist who told his parents that the extremely strict education might be having an adverse effect on "her" psychological development. Niseko was thus sent to a school for the first time in his life, downing a female uniform with the teachers being given strict instructions "not to go along with her delusions". He was forced to accept this was reality, and while a part of him began to enjoy the praise and goodwill that started coming his way, his father being more at home too and paying more attention to him, he also desperately wanted to rid himself of the curse and began looking into all kinds of places (in secret) for a method to release himself. The more he did, the more he began taking a genuine interest in it as well.

The curse wasn't limited to turning him into a girl. It affected his personality and intelligence to, at least as far as the outward acts of his body. He knew some mannerisms were girl's, he just couldn't stop his body. He became pratically illiterate and would often just blurt out idiotic lines or movie references he didn't mean to (and often didn't really know). Sometimes it felt like he was just a passanger in another person's body, though the body at least continued to be very much his.

Personality:
As a girl, Niseko is a rather blunt and serious person. She isn't the sharpest tool in the shed, but makes up for it by not trying to be, but by with hard work trying to be the best she can be, and always being loyal and straightforwar with her ambitions. She is someone who isn't easily driven by whims, but holds steadfast a code of honor (perhaps a little too influenced by the tales of knigths she loves so much) and discipline, that has allowe her to make use of her very limited time very efficiently. Unlike the more tortuous approach of her other half for retribution, hers is more immediate. She does hold a great sense of justice and responsibility.

She understandably holds a great deal of self-doubt and a bit of envy towards her other self for his assurance about his own identity. The shadow of just being a biproduct of a distortion to another's existence looms over her constantly, leading her to much like her other half seeking out approval. However, she seeks not a public type of approval, but a more individual one. This Niseko is a lot more self-sacrificing and self-righteous, being far pickier with those she wants to appease, but then appeasing whole-heartedly. As for others they'll be told with her cold, stern demeanor that they just aren't worth her time, or otherwise she'll judge them as scum.

The ones she most seeks the approval of are Niseko's parents. She believes that if she, as who she is, can accepted as the heir to the family business then in some sense her existence itself will have impact on the world, be recognized by it. Thus she continues to strive to become a better and better heir, learning manners, fighting back, financial strategy and the like.

Backstory:
(part 2)
He never did manage to get rid of his curse, not even when the second choice came around. Though defeated in terms of getting the world to recognize him for who he was, Niseko never stopped trying to at least affirm to himself who he was. He never recovered the blow academically, though his refinement was one that was praised by the entire family. Kidnappers often attempted to get him, and he ended up starting to learn martial arts. As he got better with the training, his growing capacity to use force to get his way started to get to his head again. He fell into the path of a deliquent, if only on the surface, which only made him harder and harder to approach. He even formed a little "gang" (If an 12 year old child can call it that) that would end up following him around and taking his orders.

Only one friend remained for Niseko, the foreign exchange student Alice. Her parents had moved to Japan not long ago and as it turned out Niseko was one of the few people who could actually understand her in her native language (languages had been something he thankfully hadn't lost). The girl, it turned out, had quite a rebellious spirit herself, and soon they were out doing mischief together and playing around. Alice always seemed curious about Niseko's activities in his "gang" too, and all of this despite still being a well-behaved kid in class, who their classmates respected.

It was, however, all a ruse. Alice did have a foreign parent, but they had come to Japan a long time ago. Her older sister was the leader of an actual gang member who didn't particularly like the idea of Niseko's little playgroup ever potentially coming to be a threat to them. She had sent Alice to be their informant, alongside some of the youngest members of the gang as well, to be bodyguards of sorts. The young ones, however, ended up getting too excited and beat up a member of Niseko's group, prompting the rest of them to look into it and discover the truth about Alice. They launched a raid on Alice's hideout, Niseko only being informed of what was taking place when it was well underway. By the time Niseko arrived, he saw Alice on the ground, surrounded by a bunch of fallen subordinates and Niseko's own group preparing to take revenge on her. All kinds of feelings swept up within Niseko, more than anything feelings of guilt for all the people who had already gotten hurt, for letting himself get deceived, and for wanting to, even at that very moment, gang up on that pretty much defenseless girl for what she did.

Then, the third choice come:
----->Free yourself from the curse and join your teammates in their revenge
----->Kiss Alice and swear to protect her, beating up your own group in her defense, and become as people see you, retaining part of your curse.

He pondered what he should do. Ever since it came, he wanted nothing less than to completely and utterly remove his curse. And yet, he he couldn't stand what the first option would have him do. He stepped foward, and took his lips upon Alice's, then turned around, his body transforming into the very image of what the curse had made him seem as, the huge girl he would come to know as his female form. She knocked out her group, but only then remembered.... The curse! It passed by contact after the third choice! Right on cue, Alice began looking like she was having some terrible headache.

Niseko swore to learn more about cursed to save the girl and left. The curse had wore off, for the most part, but the past could only be rewritten to an extent. Her family remembered him as a guy again, but the school and the records and everything else still declared him a girl, the memories of the teachers and "gang" members (which by the way, ended up getting disbanded, which avoided further conflict with Alice's sister too) and everyone else were not rewritten. They still clearly remembered a girl coming to school. Even Niseko's home life suddenly seemed to get much worse, with his parents suddenly losing the interest they had gained in him when he "was" a girl. As such he decided to transform in front of them, thus revealing what happened and trying to explain his two halves. Unbelievable though it seemed, the evidence was alive and kicking in front of them.

As he was coming home from school one day, he encountered a certain senpai. "You two were one and the same right?" She deduced. "But you don't seem happy this way. WHy not just become more like her then? Or is it, more like you?"

Niseko never saw that senpai again until highschool, but he did take the advice to heart.

Can afflict any rank of fear upon any target (based on intimidation factor), makes those around them more prone to it. Monsters in the presence of an evil lord have all their skills and stats strengthened by a factor of 2 or more, and contribute part of their strength to the evil lord. Vulnerability to holy and non-natural and non-dark healing have the inverse effect (ones own are alos inverted). Focus is halved. "Evil Lord" unique skills are given upon reaching certain levels.

Personality:
Personality-wise, the evil lord is a waste of oxigen. She is a conceited and critical person, full of snarky remarks and unable to hold herself back from at least mentally giving her opinion, and she certainly loves lording over others. While she isn't particularly interested in wealth she has an intense greed for power and status (and attention). Not only does she constantly try to hoard more, she is also not shy in showing off her power with a general energetic demeanor and big, almost theatrical mannerisms. She also attempts to get her way through manipulation, though partly because she isn't the sharpest tool in the shed by a long margin, and partially because she has a tendency to be clumsy and careless, forgetting details and generally slipping up here and there. Don't take that to mean she is naive or so easily fooled down. When it comes down to it, she has a surprisingly grounded approach.

On the other hand, it is also undeniable she is mischieveous, specially towards those she holds a grudge (quite a vengevative person): She is an active, playful prankster, and a little pervy too, though only in a playful way. However, she still strives to at least live up to her words and meet the expectations of those around her.

Backstory:
The one known today as "the evil lord" did not start out that way. Sakura Smith was brought from another world along with a bunch of her middleschool classmates during a field trip. Brought into a new world but without anyone bothering to explain how statuses worked, she was thought to be among the ones who didn't receive a power, and was banished away to a form being considered useless (and also because he complained about how so many people had been summoned, and by some old wrinkly dude instead of a beatiful princess like they were suppose to, what kind of crap was that!) ... it wasn't long because the farm that "just so happened" to be along the border of the demon lord's territory was overrun by monsters. As the villagers defended themselves and managed to take a couple down, Sakura discovered her ability to seal monsters. Now was the time to be the hero she was born to be! Despite being treated like trash, bullied through middle school and even here on the farm by the other "useless" kids, despite how many times people looked down on her and played pranks on her and... actually, you know what, nope, time to farm to get stronger and take revenge!

The more monsters Sakura sealed, the more powerful monsters she could beat and seal. She joined the heroes party with her other classmates, only to killsteal the demon lord, sealing it within himself and completely decimating the heroe's party. Because she sealed the demon lord, the lineage of demon lords was put to an end, and a new title was formed "the evil lord", a position Sakura happily took.

It was only after a month or two of staying in a castle vegatating having achieved his goal that Sakura realized after evil lord, her title might become couch potato, if she didn't find a way to do something about the boredom. He went out to the kingdoms, where he found the terrible rumors spreading about her. Part of her was angry that she even let her classmates escape out of pity... another part of her felt guilty, terribly guilty for what she did. She hated the way people talked about her now, so once again she went back to his castle, and blew off some steam defeating invading monsters and adventurers.

One day, a little imp girl showed at her doorstep. She would be the first of the "evil lord's followers" that would show up, monsters that showed up to enlist in her service or ask her protection due to a misconception caused by the spreading rumors about her and her title. Thus she took the mantle of "Gargantuan, the evil lord" and set out for world conquest. He couldn't ignore those literal puppy eyes after all.

As she continued her conquest, a new hero arose, this time one with a new title and abilities actually capable of taking her, the evil lord, down. The two fought to the very end, and ended up reincarnated into the same body.

      Faita is a girl who can accept things as they come. After so much time trying to force out her emotions she's become more used to mild ones and holding back from outbursts, thus making her someone who tends to keep a calm head in almost any situation, and always be full of pragmatic and mature viewpoints to share as advice. This does not mean, however, that she is so mature herself, as indeed she is someone who easily holds grudges and refuses to let them out, resulting in more petty gestures than anything. Furthermore, Faita is no longer a girl to blindly obey anyone, views all manner of relationships as 'phases' rather than 'states'. Nonetheless, she always tries to remain practical. She may trust easily, but even if she hates your guts she will still work with you if she needs it, but she will not go out of her way to be nice to you or help you any more than absolutely necessary.

      Though she may not openly express it however, she is the kind of person who does like to help. Not out of a joy in helping, but because she has a deep-rooted need to feel like she is being useful. She needs to contribute or she will resent those who don't let her, be it because they hold her back or because they simply have the bases covered, leaving her unable to make her assistance valuable. Because of this she is also an incredibly hard worker, and someone with no qualms in pushing herself beyond even what's really reasonable.

      Having lived in near-poverty for most of her life, Faita values money on a deep level, but is also quite used to lacking it. She has a habit of foraging for things and when given the suboptimal she tends to try to make the best of it instead of asking for something better, even if it was clearly a mistake. When she does get money or valuables, she tends to be quite stingy with them, and if she wants something she can't get she will hold up...at least until she's sure nobody's looking. There is one exception though. Knowing the value of money also helps her realize how big a gesture it can be for the truly poor to receive it, thus she can despite her constant attempts at saving in the budget, be swayed to giving it away to those she thinks need it.

      All the things she doesn't express normally are still there though, just building up inside of her. She is a ticking time bomb of grudges and guilt and everything else, be it on a outburst or just some very stupid decisions, who knows when will not be able to hold it in anymore and just snaps.

      Lore:
      Kamenyo's lore is pretty much a fanfic fantasy crafted by Kyoh after they acquired the castle. She was the youngest maid, ripped straight from a common village and her beloved family there, and made to work at the castle. One day, the princess sudddenly falsely accused her of a crime which their chef had actually committed, but she was covering for him because they were sleeping together. Kamenyo was severly punished many times over, and the incidents kept repeating themselves, until she was set for execution, but on that day, she discovered irrefutable proof of her innocence, but none listened to her and she was cast to and eaten alive by an acidic slime. Her soul, however, ended up combining with the slime and inhabiting it's body, causing it to attempt to escape. It's death marked the release of her soul, now powered by all the people that had been eaten, absorbing their power into herself. She haunted her own castle floor until she chased away all the royals and their servants, but captured the princess and her chef in particular and punished them accordingly. Her masks represent all the people eaten by the slime.

      Some time later, a brave and mighty being, named Hfraen, would come to visit the palace and relieve her ofher sorrow. This person was her older brother now, who took her under his wing, figuratively and literally.

More: A huge fan of the concept of the shinobi, she was cold, efficient and ruthless in battle. She was extremely clumsy and shy in social situations, however, so she mostly kept quiet and in the shadows. She also saw the game as a form of self-expression, saying that her choice in races reflected how she felt in real life. Though she never explained further, some speculate she felt like a puppet in real life. A later member of blackened purity introduced by LuvDuv600 and Sabri-Nyah, and one of two members to have joined after Kamenyo Jotamashi did. She often hung around Kamenyo in fact, and was relunctant to leave until her friends pressured her into it.

More: A mischievious prankster who build her character on a support basis, being able to effectively give support to all members of Blackened Purity, of which she was a founding member. She was, however, also the second to depart from the guild, as she agreed with Guardian TsunTsun's stance on the guild changing. Up until then though, she had always been there for people to cheer them up, though she was also often the cause why they became upset due to her pranks and hardly ever taking things seriously unless they were in a PvP fight.

More: Sabri-Nyah was a real nostalgic, with her love for all kinds of old gems from history's pop culture being only surpassed by her obsession with cats and puns. She was also a rebellious spirit, and someone who liked to have fun without adhering to conventional wisdom, instead preferring to act as weird as possible just to tease other people, but her actual actions were often benefitting others. She was often viewed as a source of wisdom within the guild, being knowledgeable about many different ways of being and thinking an thus often sought out for advice. More: A lover of all things bizarre, this early member of Blackened Purity loved to play the role of a monster, and designing bizarre and twisted things. Though he wasn't too happy with how the base was being shared, he still loved to get his own space where he could very literally root down his character and stand guard to their palace. He was kindhearted, compassionate, and always believed in the fundamental good within people, which translated into his belief that even intimidation was a fair approach to piece, and that bravery shouldn't be born out of rage, but genuine joy for the challenge. Ultimately left the guild due to the awkward mood that came to settle in as more and more members left.

Because of the high cook level, even paired with a decently high alchemist level just to be sure, this form is ideal for Kamenyo to cook in. However, she prefers not to be seen cooking in his form, as she fears it might ruin the appetite of those that do, so she always hides before starting to cook.

More: The main NPC of Kamenyo Jotoashi's floor. She was supposedly an experiment, an attempt to clone the power of one of the castle's residents mixed with other races to be able to host her spirit, in other words, an experiment to gain a physical body. Many bodies were given out of the finest collections, but the experiment was both a success and a failure: the body was alive, but sentient on its own. She learned much from the other guardians as she was raised from the infant-like state of her mind, despite an already semi-grown body, but ultimately couldn't help but to cling to one she saw as her mother, Kamenyo, nor the one she believed to be her father, Hraefn.
Outside her lore, Defem is an NPC that guards the 8th floor of Laputa. This floor was enlarged with money purchases to become almost a self-contained palace on its own, filled with all kinds of traps and secret passages and corridors hidden in plain sight, using the radius of torch light effects to create the illusion that the corridor was lit enough to not need an extra light, while actually using it to hide certain passages in the shadows. The traps, while by themselves rarely damaging, used a variety of effects to split parties, from confusion and drunk status effects, to pitfalls, to secret passages that trigger once discovered and then disable themselves until a cooldown. Even the wheather was designed to null the senses, using lightning to cover up sounds and make communication more difficult. Defem herself would freely wander around once a set number of people were present in the room (at least 3 enemies) and engage them one on one and using her forms to counter those, or in small groups in which case she uses magic with her enchanter class to disrupt the enemy's party coordination, illusion magic to further disorganize them, and then finish them with her alternative forms. She herself would continue to observe them using an item that let her see through illusions and disguises of all sorts, and other items that would help her sneak up on people. Any players that somehow managed to survive these sneaky assaults, designed to often resembles a horror movie with even the "outside" atmosphere of a breezy lightning storm, would be greeted by a head-on fight (depending on their numbers). She would buff herself and use the power of the blood gathered thus far, while activating her draconic form. If her work had gone well thus far, then the enemy party should be in no condition to face such a buffed adversary at that point. Lastly, potions were placed in several hidden places in the floor and often replaced if a use was needed. While this might sound like a lifesaving choice for invaders, Defem was actually programmed to use these potions in between her assaults.
To add insult to injury, if she deemed it necessary Kamenyo herself would intervene and cooperate in the assault by shapeshifting into her NPC, thus lauching a two way set of ambushes upon the unsuspecting enemy players.
All of this wouldn't be possible without the ability to customize UI, combined with Kyoh's immense skills as a hacker, to obtain which she of course had needed to delve into programming. It was a work that took her a surprisingly long time, given how many variables and responses would be needed to make such an ambitious project even work, but in the end, it was done. This UI contained one final secret about Defem, however: a hacking trick that would, in case of an emergency, suddenly switch her classes in such a way as to make her able to use a special suicide bomb skill.
Defem also possesses an item that lets her keep her sanity regardless of the side effects of her skills, and gives her high resistance to other mental effects.

As an additional note, though they weren't personally guarded by Defem, there were several exits to the 8th floor, many of which remained in the floor but not in Defem's strike zone. The torture chambers of the punished, for instance, which contained two mid-level NPCs for a different attempt at getting the enemies, but mostly just present for lore. Then there was the room with the ___, which are her alternate forms. Any not hunted by the enemy players before coming, will have to face them. There's the actual exit, only possible to open after defeating Defem, there's Kamenyo's room, etc... these extra separate rooms are edited in a way as to have a different atmosphere from the rest of the floor.

Pact Patron: (Name Not Known) Faerie Dragon Archfey
Gift: Fey magic and the binding of the white dragon (with some time dragon traces) to the recipient. Grants magic, power, youth, improves memory and prevents aging of any form.
Conditions: The recipient agrees to the following terms, with the expressed penalties, to be applied to them once the gift is granted.
1.The recipient must consume sugar, sugary or baked goods (bread is sufficient if sweet or not too old) in every meal. If they not, they will begin to feel weaker and sleepier with every meal they fail to do this. Milk also works as a substitute.
2.The recipient must agree to play with any child under the age of 10 that requests it from them. If not, their intelligence is slightly drained for the rest of the day, along with their memory, and they become more guillable and more easily frightened. This does not apply if the recipient does not believe they are a real child, but it does apply if for any reason they are convinced the request came from someone who is mentally of that age, even if they aren't actually a child.
3.Once per year, the recipient has to bake a delicious cake which will be whisked away by their patron. Further details are specified by the patron when nearing the date. Failure to comply results in the loss of the warlock's power.
4.The recipient is forced to agree to any age one claims they are. They do not have to act that age, but if one incorrectly assigns them an age, they involuntarily agree that that is indeed their age. If one who hasn't declared them to be a given age asks what their age is, the recipient must have them guess through a game.
5.The recipient is cursed to have any arcane focus they acquire, attune to or attempt to use ,turn into a talking doll. The talking doll can be used as a regular arcane focus if held by the warlock. When the transformation occurs to a new arcane focus, the previous doll is whisked away by the patron.
6.The recipient is cursed to have a child-like aura about them. Those unfamiliar with them will have a tendency to attribute their actions to child-like behavior and even those familiar with them may still have the image of a child in mind when they see her, easing them to her words the way one might be to a child unless they are hostile or distasteful towards children. This is not brainwashing however, simply a tendency, and any creature can rationally make decisions and conclusions with regard to this if they try. Both this curse and the prior one, if dispelled, will cause the warlock to lose their powers for the rest of the day, at the end of which both the powers and the curses return.
7. A link is established between the warlock and the patron in their dreams, allowing the patron to influence those dreams at will.

As Eddenil's father saw his face for the first time, crying in his mother's arms, he knew that would be the end of his marriage. Eddenil's ears weren't as pronounced as his own, nor was the infant's hair colored like either the mother nor the "father". Nonetheless, the man pleaded that his wife would be spared the harsh punishments of their village for her infidelity, and be allowed to raise the baby on her own. Due to his very birth bringing about such a tragedy, the half-elf was permitted to have neither the name of his father, nor of his mother, and was instead named Eddenil Adan, meaning "man friend of man" in elvish. His mother struggled deeply to make ends meet, and his mixed heritage would follow him along wherever he went, keeping him from friends, forcing him to attempt to learn things on his own when he could sneak into some corner or hidden place from where he could attend a public class without drawing attention. Because it was so difficult for him to stay in the village, Eddenil would often go to the woods to play. One day, after being picked on particularly badly, Eddenil ran off deeper into the forest, only to find himself lost, and running into a certain tree. The tree, it turned out, was inhabited by various fey creatures, among which the Sprites that guarded that part of the forest. As the excellent judges of characters they were, the sprites realized pretty quickly what kind of situation had led the little half-elf to run into them, and not only forgave him but offered to school him as well, better than any elven education they claimed.

Slowly but surely, Eddenil began to undergo a change. His training with the sprites aided him, not only in terms of his knowledge and understanding of the world, but in particular in his reflexes, ability to fight and most importantly in his situation, the development of a certain silver tongue. The view the village had of him, a useless disagrace and a tragedy, improved a tiny bit, now viewing him as a potential asset. He began receiving some protection from the adults, who had him act as a mediator between themselves and human trades, in the favor of the village of course. Though he was most grateful for even this bit of help, Eddenil didn't have much of an opportunity to thank the sprites, as they soon had to leave without warning. Unknownst to Eddenil or any of the villagers or travellers, an old dragon had made a lair out of a nearby ruin, and this had brought many threats to the fey of the forest, which the sprites had to aid in protecting it against.

When Eddenil came to find the sprites, he was disappointed many times over, but never gave up hope of seeing his benefactors again. Little did he know that someone was there, watching. A group of pixies found it amusing to disguise themselves as sprites, and take the boy's gratitude. "You're worked enough" they said. "You should take a break. Come, play with us and our friend!". They took Eddenil to a certain tree and gave him honey, telling him to offer it to a tiny red faerie dragon. The creature bounced around happily for the treat, and from then on would come to play with Eddenil many times, often getting a treat from him. His mother, however, was becoming sickly. She wouldn't be able to provide for them both much longer, and with Eddenil's sort of part time job, he couldn't either. He insiisted on being allowed to work on bigger cases in need of mediation, and was allowed to. One of these cases was one of a certain influential trader of sugary goods, a rarity among elves to be sure. However, after Eddenil began mediating, they found they were being swindled, as the quantity they were supposedly being sold was starting to match less and less the quantity on the actual bags. Other elves, guards to be exact, were sent to investigate, and they cleared the merchant from suspicion though. Instead, they pointed their spears at Eddenil.

As it appeared, goods would magical float out of their bags and disappear near Eddenil. Though the boy claimed he was innocent, he couldn't prove it. After all, he didn't know faery dragons are great gluttons for sugar and baked goods at the time, nor that they could turn invisible. When the sprites returned, Eddenil had already been banished from his village, and enraged he took it out on the fey who once helped, leading to him being chased out by them as well. Even if he attempted to return to his village now and explain the situation with the new information he had, he knew he'd just sound insane- even if he didn't, he was still a half-elf. They surely would pretend.

His grudge ran deep, and he became an adventurer, specifically a ranger bent on hunting down fey. He joined a party of other rookies, among them a female kenku named Splah, the aasimar priest Shalan, and a dragonborn barbarian named Redtooth. The three of them were outcasts from their own homes, and albeit not the strongest on their own, they formed a rather competent team. Even after finding his animal companion though, Eddenil was definitely the weaker link of the group. His skills were not masterful like Splash's, the didn't have Redtooth's brawns, nor Shalan's wisdom. His skills at negotiation were his only strengths, aside from his skills at combating an enemy they had yet to encounter. Furthermore, the group allowed him to indulge in his curiosity, asking them all kinds of questions and looking into creatures they defeated for clues in how they could do better next time. He did take a cut on his share for this though, as a method of payment, and he then sent part of his sallary through a messenger from the guild to his mother.

With this group, Eddenil found a kind of comraderie he didn't anywhere else Redtooth was far kinder than his appearance would suggest, one who refused to take anything from another or bring harm to another unecessarily, a warm person with a bit of a loose sense of personal space. Splah was observing and distant, and as a kenku she had no words of her own. But she knew just the right phrases to mimic, just what to say. Shalan always had some deep, sometimes a little too complicated or vague wisdom to share. Soft (Eddenil's wolf companion) in particular was a loving friend to him.

Their most dangerous quest came as a real shock to Eddenil. It was a quest to look into strange events that had been taking place near some ruins. These ruins, however, happened to be extremely close to his home village. Furthermore, Eddenil the half-elf and his companion the wolf Soft, alongside Splah the kenku, Shalan the aasimar and Redtooth the dragonborn were to team up with another party who was hiring them to act as scouts and assistance. The other party was seemingly much higher level, and had recently acquired a magical sword that supposedly could slay the creature they suspected might be in there, which they refused to reveal. The payment was very high, so Eddenil agreed to this mission.

It didn't take a lot of scouting to realize why part of the details were hidden from them, though: The creature in question was none other than a dragon. If they hadn't been told something that important, what else could they not trust? They immediately realized they would need some kind of backup. Redtooh was trusting, and believed the other party's reputation as heroes preceeded them, thus there was no need to question their methods. Shalan, however, spent her time praying for divine protection, while Splah contacted a guild she worked for in an attempt to seek out reinforcements with magical expertise. They were excellent at dealing with creatures of magic on their own right, so they would surely come in handy, even if their attempt to assist in slaying the dragon turned out sour. Eddenil, on his part, was convinced by the party that there was no other choice but to recruit the fey to aid them.

They clearly were angry at him still, but begrudingly accepted to assist after he explained the situation and they discussed it amongst themselves.

When the day arrived to attack the dragon, Splah's reinforments were at least a few hours yet away from arrival, but the hiring party refused to wait any longer. Eddenil's party was made to go in first to scout for and disarm the traps, so as to ensure the other party was in top condition to battle the dragon. Rather than the typical traps one would expect, the white dragon's power had brought about winter and frost into the ruins, pillars of ice and freezing being the greatest danger. If not for the fey's protection, they might've died just from being there.

Against Eddenil's advice, after learning the traps were disarmed the other party simply rushed into the frey to do battle with the white dragon. Eddenil and his party quickly realized they were unable to even contribute to the battle, nomatter what they did, their attacks would simply bounce off the dragon's scales. The fey weren't doing very different, but their sheer numbers greatly improved their odds of a lucky strike here and there. The tide of battle seemed like it would soon change though, when the leader of the other party, a powerful dragon soul sorcerer named Trayr, managed to blow one of the dragon's scales out of its body.

None could have predicted what would come next, however. Little did they know, that despite it's weakness that led to it being kicked from its home in the North, the dragon shared a faint trace of time dragon blood. Its wounds appeared to revert, weapons being plucked off its body by the twisted time magic. Furthermore, the 'dragonslayer' turned out to be a fake. Just how far could the dragon's regenerative abilities go? No, more importantly, they needed to escape. They wouldn't last much longer at this rate. It was then Eddenil had an idea, and communicated it to the leader of the fey. The group uncovered chains from the ice, using torches to unfrost it when needed, then used magic to jam as many as they could into the dragon's body. Even as the dragon healed its wound, with their magic they managed to keep the chains inside the body, making the dragon's very flesh into its shackles.

Trayr fell on the ground before being able to get behind the dragon, leading to the dragon smirking and preparing it's breath weapon. All seemed lost, when Trayr revealed his real magic item. With the necklace held high, he cast an illusion spell that got the dragon to turn to another part of the room, believing his foes were standing there instead. Unfortunately, this was where Redtooth, Eddenil and Shalan were. Kind as they were, they both spent their last spell protecting Eddenil, and their bodies were frozen in place by the dragon's breath, killing them on the spot. Splah, who was also nearby, had just barely managed to escape. It was her to told Eddenil to swallow his anger, and focus on the real enemy ahead, the dragon.

Gravely wounded and its ability to recover diminuished, with the heroes fighting literally behind its back while the chains prevented it from turning, the dragon cared no longer for any wounds it might receive, now seeking only vengeance against the enemies that lay before it. Its own flesh ripped as it pulled on the chains and broke free of them, smashing part of the ruins in the process and causing the place to start collapsing. The group attempted to escape through the entrance while the dragon couldn't use its dragon breath, but it would have eaten there in that narrow space, if not for Soft ambushing the ferocious monster by biting into its eye. The wolf would soon be no more than a red splat on the wall for this.

Rocks and ice flew in every direction as the dragon bursted through the ruins intent on chasing its attackers. Many were already far too gravely injured to continue putting up a proper fight, their spells were pretty much all exhausted, but then spectral tentacles grappled down the frost-breathing lizard. Spells came from all directions, and when Eddenil looked around, he saw that a variety of wizards, sorcerers and druids wearing the same hooded robes as one another were surrounding the dragon. Splah's guild's reinforcements had arrived!

In the end, it was none other than the guild that brought down the dragon at last. Eddenil passed out with the relief, but would be haunted by nightmares of his grief.

When Eddenil woke up, he found himself surrounded by disdainful looks. He received his payment for the quest, but it turned out to be even lower than a regular one. His complaint to the guild fell on death ears, and instead he was told that "cowards who hide and try to throw their fellow adventurers under the bus should be grateful to have any payment at all". He was outraged at this, and promptly informed that he would be kicked out his current guild for doing exactly what she said. He would come to find that the 'hero' Trayr had "accidentally" let slip that Eddenil's party actually was so scared of the dragon they did a poor job at checking for traps, and then ran away when they saw the dragon even jeopardizing Trayr's fight with it. He told everyone he protected said party from the breath nonetheless, and how bringing the fae to their side and chaining the dragon had been his work and ideas. The fae were willing to corroborate his story, taking revenge for Eddenil's attack on them long ago through this lie.

It was then a robed man approached Eddenil, and proposed for him to join their guild. Appearantly, Splah had informed her guild of Eddenil, and they were impressed by his curiosity and ingenuinty. They knew the truth of what happened with the dragon, and while they didn't care to reveal that truth to the public for various reasons, they were willing to help Eddenil out, by allowing him to work with them instead. He would have a source of income again, and he would have some respect as one of only a handful of non-magic-users that would be given more than a menial position among them. After training, of course. What finally sold Eddenil, however, was learning of a disease his mother supposedly caught, but their research might help her overcome it.

Eddenil would come to work hard for this new guild, albeit he was only an assistant at first. His eagerness and views on monsters were not well-received amongst many of the druids of the organization though, who thought he was too dismissive of nature's potential, whereas wizards and sorcerers looked down on him for his lack of talent with magic. He worked as an assistant to several, but although Splah's recommendation should have given him the right to speak his thoughts, he was often ignored and often his superiors deliberately took whichever path was the opposite of his suggestion, just so they didn't align with his. Coupled with his lack of resolve in taking on the guild's more "questionable" methods, Eddenil was often labeled a failure and used as a scapegoat for his superior's failed experiments. He was treated as a grunt worker and secretary, while rumors kept coming about how Trayr acquired riches, fame and even nobility following his success against the white dragon. Nonetheless, he persisted. Even when he found out Splah was an infiltrator, who sought to scout out talented individuals for the guild, and lure them with sweet words she had memorized. Even when Splah died at the hands of Trayr, Eddenil continued to refuse the most cruel work given to him by his superiors, such as fecthing abandoned children and the mad to use as test subjects none would bother to care about. That was the only thing he wouldn't do, he would put up with all the work and mistreatment, with all the attitudes of those looking down on him, if only he could continue to look for a cure for his mother, and to send her money. But there were things he couldn't bring himself to do even for those goals. When this shady group came to him, offering him money in return for some 'benefits' from his guild, he refused.

His heart broke when the read the letter. The sickness had won, brought his mother to her death. He wouldn't even be allowed back in the village for her funeral. He failed. After all he had been through, he failed. There was nothing left for him...was there? Yet, as he passed by the remains of the white dragon the guild had claimed as payment for their assistance that day, and he was reminded of all that the 'hero' had stolen from him, Eddenil's mind realized it, clutched the letters, a smile broke through in his life as he saw new purpose for himself. In his mind, and in his heart, his sorrow was being drowned by thoughts of revenge and ambition, the desire to surpass Trayr in every way. He sought out the shady group from before, selling them research notes and living weapons from his guild. They wouldn't mind, not as long as he succeeded. The guild cared most about results. So long as he had those, he wouldn't just go unpunished, he fight finally recognized! Under the proposed 'Animal link ressurection and magical mimicry vestiges compatiility' experiment, he asked the guild to locate the remains of Soft, his companion from when he was a ranger, and with the money he earned, he hired a pair of rogues to bring him several stolen materials, including Spah's corpse, and to help him break into his superior's lab after closing hours to perform his experiment. He also hired a necromancer, whom he used to link together the several parts, then used the last traces of his former connection to nature as a ranger in order to attempt to attempt to ressurect Soft.

His power was lost, his body atrophied from the backlash of the horrid magic he performed, but he succeeded in a sense. Soft was far gone now, but the abomination created using Spah's, Soft's and part of the dragon's remains rose, alive, loyal and even possessing innate magic. Among other things, the creature was able to pronounce words in draconic, though it was unable to understand any of what those words meant. The resounding success was immediately presented to the guild, and after quesitioning Eddenil was granted the rank of independent researcher in the project to attempt to acquire the magic of monsters and any kind of magical creature. It was decided he would get priority access to the dragon remains and would focus his research on that particular type of creature.

Meanwhile, Eddenil continued to gather more and more information on Trayr. Even as he grew older, he continued to gain the respect of the people, and even slayed many threats that mysteriously appeared at important events. Research led Eddenil to realize the dragon soul sorcerer's secret, his magic item allowed him to conjure illusions that were impossible to avoid or notice. He continued to gain fame, power, fortune, family... meanwhile, Eddenil's family was dead, he was alone, the power he gained in authority from rank or age was disrespected, while his actual magic was gone due to the atrocity he commited against nature. His body was weakened, and even for a half-elf he was nearing the limits of his lifespan. Experiments could only take him so far, even when he continued to grow more and more ruthless and detached, even using his skills in mediation and convincing to bring children from decrepit, struggling orphanges and "lighting their load", using those children in experiments that mostly ended in failure. He had heard rumors of the chilren playing with a faery dragon that lived near the orphanage, and often took children who played with it specifically in an attempt to lure out the creature. He knew it inside, that what he was doing wasn't right, that what he was doing would make him hated, but it would all be worth it. He would finally get respect, when he succeeded and gained the power to bring down Trayr. He fell asleep to the thoughts of his plans for revenge: First, he would gain power, while working on taking away the magic item from the sorcerer. He would use the item to torment Trayr with illusions and ...and...

HAHAHAHA

When the guild managed to capture the faery dragon for research, Eddenil thought it was time to begin enacting his plan. There was no doubt in his mind, by experimenting with thei fey he would get the power he needed. He hired a most skilled rogue to take away the magic item and bring it to him, while he proceeded with his experiments. Finally, FINALLY he would have his revenge! For all the atrocities, for all the pain he had been through, finally he would taste succeess and victory. Things didn't turn out how he expected, however, and the rogue accidentally murdered the sorcerer in a struggle to steal away the necklace. Just like that, his life's purpose, the reason he did all the things he did, the reason why he renounced everything he once believed in, it was all just one giant hole in Eddenil's soul. His mind simply couldn't accept this kind of failure, there had to be something, ANYTHING he could do! The death of a supposed hero was big news, and evidence that someone in his guild might be behind the assassination was found. Soon, he would be taken away and executed if the guild didn't have a strong enough reason to protect him. He needed results.

He just needed results.

Eddenil spent as much money as he could gathering sugar and baked goods, remembering what he learned in his early childhood, then broke free the faery dragon that had been captured. He bargained with it, offering all the sweets to 'sweeten the offer'. He knew it was no ordinary faery dragon. The color of the scales were beyond the purple color of the ancient faery dragons, it was a living rainbow. It was a faery dragon archfey, and he suggested cooperation in his experiments, rather than force. By this point, the archfey realized, the aspiring wizard's mind was beyond simple repair, but it was also true that retribution was called for. The creature agreed to Eddenil's requests, but would impose conditions on their contract that would be revealed when Eddenil attained his power. The half-elf was too desperate to refuse.

With the archfey's magic, the remains of the white dragon were fused directly into Eddenil's body, forcing a painful transformation as the power was infused into him. The faint traces of time dragon magic were awakened by the fey's influence, and Eddenil's body rejuvenated as it transformed and mixed with the dragon's parts. 'Cheating' though it might be, the new Eddenil had successfully realized (in part) the dreams of the overall project of his, now her, research division. She was still infuriated as she realized her potential mistake, but even with the faery dragon's conditions, she could continue her work.

Eddenil was temporarily dismissed from her position, part to "punish" her, and part to give her time to get used to her new body, before being promoted to lead researcher. She magic prowess grew exponentially, in fact whereas it was previously non-existent she was now a strong magic user in her own right. In her time away, she discovered that the bloodline of Trayr, now given the name of the "Whitebanes", was gifted with the same draconic sorcery he was. Eddenil thus decided to pursue the adjuration path of wizardry, as a way of combating their powerful offensive magic, give the head of the snake a helmet they could't cut through. It would also serve as a defense against potential assassination attempts. She still felt...disappointing at not being able to pursue necromancy though, as she felt this would have been a much stronger contributer to her research. Her mind was now numbed after all the events it could barely process. As a small catharsis to herself, she raised Trayr as an abomination, mixed together with his wife and remains of various creatures, and to do so she hired a couple of necromancers. Her abominations serve as guards for her lab and her most precious materials, hidden under specially designed armor or coats if need be. She would continue to attempt this to the various members of the family, remaining in secrecy until the day comes to enact her final revenge upon it.

More than anything though, Eddenil sought authority and respect. Even with hundreds of years of service at her guild, her body continues to make it hard for assistants and staff to take her seriously. It's not like she would have public recognition, with her often failed but occasionally successful experiments being kept mostly under the rug. Recently, however, she had a student under her wing, Mikael, a (RACE) inventor who joined the guild recently, and was quite eager to learn, even from Eddenil. She took him as an assistant, and together they uncovered a particular item that Eddenil believed might contain secrets to the transferance of power from one being to another. Mikael was, however, disgusted with the abominations and ruthless actions Eddenil took, and eventually left her The guild forced Mikael to swear secrecy regarding Eddenil's "habits", a vow he didn't break even when he retired and sent his own student to learn from Eddenil.

This new student, this "Kiki" ( @Felix )turned out to be truly a headache to deal with, seeming even less respectful of authority than those that didn't take Eddenil seriously. This latest quest will be the final trial period for Kiki's internship, where Eddenil plans to decide whether to push her away or allow her into the darkest secrets of his experimentations.

    Personality:

    Laura is very much... her own person. She is helpful and generous, sure, but her passion for the threatics and swollen pride can make her quite the obnoxious little brat (that or you may end up convinced she is some evil mage concoting plans behind the scenes because of her chosen speech pattern), constantly turning any situation into an occasion for drama and shakespearism, regardless of whether that word even exists, and she keeps meddling into everything, taking a much greater interest in orchestrating everything around her right down to the personal lives of those she takes an interest in, which are many more than her way of always talking down to people would suggest. It's almost funny the lengths to which she may go to keep her role and her high and mighty attitude before crumbling into beggings and tears like the child she is when abandoned in quicksand (it happened, though she wouldn't personally admit to it). Albeit curious, she is also patient, not only having the perserverance and stubborness to come up with a plan, but the willpower to go up against the world to execute it. Even more so when it comes to defeating nightmares, a "play she whose script she takes the utmost pleasure in writing", as she would call it by drawing upon her extreme hatred for nightmares. Yet, despite being held as a child genius from an early age, she still very much carries that innocent naivety so many would find most appropriate for it. She is very impressionable and likes ot try everything at least once, hardly taking a "no" for an answer from anyone but reality itself.

    Don't take this to mean that her delusions are an escape from her responsabilities. She's already come to terms with the need to be useful, to stay afloat while contributing to the good of the world. She is often guided by her parent's advise and findings, having developed an obsession with magic and it's secrets, studying whenever she has the time, barely going out except to run some errand or slay a nightmare. When she's doing those she is hardworking and very tolerant to pain, and it's not like she's very needy when looking up magic either, but may God have mercy if you try to go and disturb her while she's at her research (or if you watch her sleep. She's adorable, but not so much when she discovers that picture...). But sure, you may not have her guaranteed loyalty, but if you have her word, you can be sure she will do anything in her power so that you can have it. so, feel free to shower her with praise and watch that uncontrollable grin form in her lips despite her fight against it. Much like she fights against her own forgetfulness, despite being actually immune to memory magic and having a gnerally pretty vivid memory and even more vivid imagination that fuels her sense of wonder and attraction to mysterious people. She also adores those that make her laugh, without tickling. Never with tickling.

    She herself is neither overly gloomy nor overly energetic and cheerful. She does have a smug dosage of pride to her and an idealistic, binary vision of good and evil. However, she does aknowledge some actions are neither good nor evil, they're at most fun or boring in those cases. Yet , in any other case, she would raise her chin and make whatever decision felt right with absolute confidence. In fact, she is more encouraging and enthusiastic than many would be, even if she can be a bit rude about it, but open-minded as she can be she isn't very understanding of particular circumstances nor is she the most cooperative person in the world despite being thoughtfl and insightful of her own accord. And a little flirty at times, but kiddy flirt. She'd probably still fear the cooties or something, unlike pain, as she seems to take it quite well, on the outside at least. Fortunately, she isn't completely reckless either, as she does have a "better safe than sorry attitude".


    Personal Biography:
    Laura was raised by two loving, doting parents. And by that sentence alone, you can pretty much infer that, yes, they died. One of these parents was a kindergarden teacher, the other a researcher, but they were both researchers at night. Well, no, not in THAT sense! Like, actual, magic-obsessed researchers scribbling every mad attempt into their journals, failures and successes, but one topic they most loved to talk about was their little girl. Maybe this was a bit short-sighted, and they wouldn't even let Laura see those particular notes, hidden even better than their secret research on alchemy, which they started teaching their daughter, as if it was some kind of family trade. While she found it fun, she also studied it seriously and sure enough, she had plenty results under her belt. The fact that she was regarded as a child genius having cast her first proper spell at the age of 2. Yet, sure enough, one day her parents were working on some experiment when they ended up accidentally caling a bunch of nightmares from all over. They fought valiantly with experimental magic, some failing, other working, some backfiring, including the one that put them into a coma. Laura herself had gone into hiding when the attack began, never even seeing the Agents of Sanctuary that came and took her parents away, not bothering with the already starting to burn house.

    Oh, you thought I said they died? Oh, no, I merely said you could "pretty much infer" that. Maybe you shouldn't take so many things at face value.

    Having emerged alone, her parents nowhere to be found, Laura was enraged, convinced the nightmares had made her parents go away. she what magic she had alredy learned to conjure a couple weapons and try to track any nightmare, any at all, any she could find to avenge her parent's or bring them back. It was at this time she began having her current nightmares. She was hungry, sleepy, crying, nowhere to go, and then as if per a miracle answering her request, there was this large spider with a mask. She attacked, the hero of her own story, only to immediately fail, her weapon broken, her clothes shred, a spider nightmare looming over her, and then... saved. A man with a great orange, funny-looking beard (very funny looking as she would come to realize after learning of it's circumstances) punching a hole through the monster while saying something about a black list. The battle ended soon-after, and theman kneeled down, intending to erase her memories, but finding he couldn't for some reason. He had no choice but to take the persistant girl in as she chased him around town and people's eyes began to land on him from trying to escape from a little girl with a rumbling stomach and torn clothes. Laura ended up staying with this man for a couple weeks while he waited for his half-sister to return from her own mission, so he could have some advise on how to deal with the mess. But by the time she did arrive, they had alreayd grown attached to one another, and the sister ended up having to tell Orange Beard (yes, that was his code name. Told you the orange beard was funny) to maybe keep her and take a few less jobs now. Laura was therefore taken care of by these two for almost a year, learning a great more deal about magic and fighting, in particular from her's parent's journals, or the ones she managed to salvage, being introduced to jacks for the first time, and with her ever growing curiosity on this black list, she ended up eavesdropping a few juicy conversations. Not even computing lessons, as fascinating as computers were to her, were enough to fully distract her. By the end of the year she began insiting she would join the organization. She was refused several times by Orange Beard, who said it wasn't even his job to recruit newbies. This, in turn, led Laura to run in search for the person Beard mentioned to in fact select them, despite having no idea what they looked like or where they could be. If it asn't for Beard's half sister calling this Handholder, maybe Laura wouldn't have even been found again... or recruited as the man witnessed her defeat a nightmare, even if a low-power one, at her age.

    Still under Beard's wing, she became a white mark, now also accompanied by Handholder. Her studies intensified and as one might expect, it was a disturbing sight for a child of all things to be training to become a full-fledged Blacklist member. The way she conducted herself did suggest she was a nut anyway though, but one couldn't help but try to go easy on her, at least from the perspective of some of her fellow white marks at the time. When she was allowed to start to go on missions against Nightmares, she would often come back with half-baked victories especially in team hunts, as she would often enrange her comrades. However, after this one time she got caught in some quicksand and ended up being left behind stuck in the sand, unable to even focus on her magic because of the heat, and if had not been for a kind passerby she would have possibly been stuck there for days. Not a great vacation plan. while still very much obsessive, she now took the policy of not trying to interact with the group much, doing her job as efficiently as possible and occasionally secretely toying with someone here and there to make "the scene flourish in a more refreshing manner". She was eventually recognized on her merits as an individual combatant with the proper spirit, and allowed to stay at a Blacklist controlled underground location, where she currently resides and still today continues to research on magic like her parent's before her, but now using their left-over work instead of exploring into new territory. She proudly (and unimaginatively) took her code name name from one of the nicknames, well intentioned or not, that she was given while in training.
