The building was quite as everyone waited for any new people that were coming and getting ready for them. The sun wasn't very bright so the curtains were pulled back on all the windows. There were not many kids that stayed at Saint Mary's because they always found somewhere else to go once they weren't considered a big problem anymore. There are a few that had been there for a while though.
Miss Alice was running back and forth trying to make sure that everything was going to go perfect for the new people they would be getting. She was excited for he opportunity to help people, but still understood that they needed help for a reason. She looked into the TV room and saw Aimi sitting there staring out the window with the same look she had the day she stopped talking. Her stare was blank and quite scary to someone who wasn't use to looking at it. Alice hoped that this group of kids would help Aimi come out of her rut and talk again.
Aimi heard Miss Alice walk into the room, but she chose to not pay attention to her. She was watching a bird outside that had gotten stuck in the barbed wire above the fence. The bird had torn its wing and tail feathers and was struggling around when it finally fell out of the wire. It couldn't fly anymore, but Aimi really wasn't concerned with it. It was just a bird; afterall, what use was it to her. She slowly looked over her shoulder at the door as Alice walked out and back ino the hallway. She was trying to get everything ready, but Aimi knew it would be just like it was with every group they get.
