Fantasy ᴀᴜᴅɪᴏ sʟᴀᴠᴇ [ᴍᴜsɪᴄ-ᴛʜᴇᴍᴇᴅ ғᴀɴᴛᴀsʏ ᴍᴍᴏ]

Let me rephrase that. The songs do factor into the game, however the level of importance you think it is isn't where it actually is. In the game, everyone's power is themed around a song, artist, or band of their selection. How the selection is of importance to you is for you to develop. Do not think of it as a set of skills. Rather than a theme of your abilities.

Maybe an example would make it easier.

So let's say Timmy is entering the game. The game has given him the Audio Power "Aerosmith" which allows him to fly. Aerosmith has been Timmy's favorite band for years because it reminds him much of his deceased father. etc etc.

Where I think I lost you is the level of importance to the game. Remember that this IS still an MMO. Music is only the theme of the game. Which means regular mmo objectives and aspects will be taking the center stage.

So the names are basically being used as ability tags, is what you're saying? If I wanted to play up the music angle a little more heavily, would I be able to do that?

If so, I think Noisestorm might be more along the lines of what I'm going for.

Consider the songs/artists/bands as the genres themselves for the abilities. Literally it is YOUR taste in music. Explore it as you want. Build your character in relation to it; or don't. I won't tell you how to work things out for yourself. I'm only here to ensure the idea is clear my guy.

Not familiar with them but hey, could be interesting to see what sort of ideas you come up for it. I for one planned to make a leisurely character so I intended to pick a less serious song in relation to it.

*has a small panic attack* Oh ho ho! It's an honor to hear you say that~.
Ah, do not mind me. My title is nothing compared to your presence within the community. Ah, sometimes my notifications fail me, so fair warning.

I do have a question regarding the game. Is there a specific style that the mmo had? Art style specifically. Or was it heavily dependant on the song?

Ohh now that's being humble. But don't worry. Were all good people here. No need to play favorites or anything.

The game itself can be considered almost a "reflection" on the real world. Which if you can find it in the real world, it will most likely look like that in the game (except, of course, with a bit of video game flare). This rp is taking place in the future so there is a mish-mash of futurey vibes with natural landscapes (not full robo-invasion though)

If you are referring more along the lines of appearance wise for characters, I have no reason to hinder how someone wishes to appeal; though the roleplay will require anime faces. So, if you're song is California Girls and you wanna go with a full Bubble Gum Prep theme, aces to ya.

Although your songs can be a complete reflection of you (appearance, personality, and mentality), you don't HAVE to base it on that. (An example being if you wanted a character who's power was based on a song that was the complete OPPOSITE of who they are as a person BUT the song still holds a meaning to them, that can be arranged.)

Belatedly interested, would there be a slot free?

Edit - Apparently, I'm blind. Or I forgot to scroll down. Either of the two

Sweet! Will the primary role be the audi-hunters or are there other available roles? *worries about taking a reservation*

As of now, the Audi-Hunters are the roles that are defined for sure but there is potential for future positions (such as cultists and more mincing roles like antagonists later on. If anyone is interested in a more antagonist role, feel free to ask.

Moonsetter Moonsetter One thing that just occurred to me are we picking out own powers based on our choice of music or are you gonna atribute a power to each person based on their music choice?

In that case, I'll put my foot in the door and reserve an audi-hunter. Usually I lean towards more npc type roles in fantasy RPs, but I'm not too familiar with the world, so I'll refrain for now.

Nope. You are picking your own ability. I'm only here to judge in the character sheets to make sure your drescription is fair.

Gotcha. Welcome aboard.

In that case, what sort of mechanics does this MMO have? Does it have leveling? Stats? Classes? Does it have a respawn system? Are there mobs to fight or quests to do or is it strictly PvP? Are there profession type things?

Also the intro seemed to be imply there will be more than one ability based on our chosen song/artist/etc.. Will we pick those other ones too?

There is a leveling and stats system. Classes do not exist only titles based on achievements and ranks. In the description of the rp, you can find that monsters are very common in the game. Quests are a part of it as well; these can be obtained via NPC's. Pvp is optional but it's what the game is mostly know for. There is no need for professions since everyone is capable of doing the same things as everyone else (It all really depends on if they have the resources to do so).

No everyone is allowed one power. However, if i find enough interests in perhaps an evolution system in mind or some sort of branching of abilities, I will consider it.
