This RP is part of the Isekai Hell setting. Let me know if you're interested and we'll see how your character can best join the story. (Though I can only handle one more person two tops).

What to expect out of character:
This RP's goal is to gain a Favourability asset for Caelia Barony. The RP's pace will be lenient, so a minimum of a bi-daily to a maximum of a weekly post. The RP will be about a play being made and played for the orphans and children of the Caelia Barony that will involve giving out plushies to the children before or after the show.

What to expect in character:
Alister Marrok a steward of the Caelia Barony, has decided to host a play for the children of the barony to enjoy, while also doubling as a way to distribute the newly arrived plushies of Miyuki on orders of Lady Regula. Alister after having a few of the people who were helping him with the play got sick and didn't want to close down the play instead he looked around for some able people for help.

When joining, please let me know the following things in your first post:
1 ) Any specific achievements/goals your character would have within the overall goal of the RP, such as trying to increase standing with a certain faction or obtaining a certain item/asset. So long as it doesn't diverge too much, I'll see what I can do to include it.
2 ) Any point boosters the character might have. (Attentive Student, Mentor, Devour, Narrative Booster, etc.).
3 ) Any [Wanted] or criminal titles your character might have. (Note, some city or guild-related settings will make entry for criminals considerably more difficult and would need discussion pre-joining.)
4 ) Any Buddy Skills, Masterwork Skills or Complex Assets your character might have.

Tag and character goal:
Megilagor Megilagor Alister Marrok - Make a good show for the kids; Get those kids some plushies; Maybe get an assistant from those kids.
TheTimePiece TheTimePiece Teuihua - Help Barony achieve their goal.
RavenSong RavenSong Aria -

Cutiefly Cutiefly Kasai Motome - Make friends.
Elvario Elvario Regula Caelia - Getting [Favourability] Asset, to work towards Complex Barony Asset; Handing out the plushies + Tail fluffage

Stonewall

Country of Ryke, Sadek County, Caelia Barony, Capital Town: Stonewall.

The day began early for some of you, especially for Alister as he was the one who spearheaded the plan for a play for the kids to happen. The weather is quite nice mostly sunny with just a few clouds, and nearly no wind so it was relatively hot for this time of the year. And there he was Alister Marrok walking around checking things against his clipboard, the news that a few of the people who vowed to help him with the last-minute things before the play sadly fell ill, according to a doctor nothing too bad just some food poisoning but those people won't be able to help out. So Alister got a bit desperate sending out notes to a few people he knew well, along with taking anyone who wanted to help.

The small stage for the play was already standing and was sturdy, he made sure of that, it could handle Teiuhua for sure though maybe not him jumping. A few key props are already were in place though some of them still needed a touch-up or two. A magnificent, but slightly wonky, keep stands proudly center stage, while a beautiful handpainted by Alister's own hands backdrop depicts the more beautiful sights of the barony behind it. A worn, but sturdy, wooden chest sits open, revealing a jumble of various colorful clothes, and on its lid lay a few smaller prop replicas, hinting at the costumes to come.

Though the progress was going really well till now the fact he missed a few important people due to them falling ill last minute made Alister worry if he could find good substitutes or replacements for those people. As they only had a few hours left before the children gather here after the midday bell rang. He didn't really mind the play being a flop as long as the kids had some fun, cheered up, and enjoyed the plushies.
"I hope some of them gather here soon." Alister spoke, while looking around for anyone who he might have know coming close.

1 ) Already discussed.
2 ) N/A
3 ) Not criminal, but relevant enough; [Tail Freak] will likely make [Beast] people react. Folk would know her as [Baroness Caelia].
4 ) Working towards the Caelia Barony complex asset. | Using Downtime separately to improve other assets.

She'd been going about business as usual, until she recalled Alister had said something about hosting a play for some kids. Seeing how he schedule was surprisingly empty for a change, she figured she'd go check up on how things were going. Luckily enough, she'd not have to go far. Yet even in the short distance she did travel, she was stopped a few times by people offering small talk. Sometimes she wondered if she was being too 'ordinary', but she'd hate being unapproachable just as much.

As she found her way to the stage, she'd see the canine Steward (or soon to be Steward) already at work. Yet he seemed a bit anxious. “Good morning. Is something the matter?” She'd greet him and ask.

Kasai had stayed in Stonewall for a while now, helping out the locals on any job they needed. They had grown accustomed to the former hero that been there as she was well enough known by them, not enough to be sort of Folk Hero, but received enough by them to warrant positive attention. He didn't really do much hero work anymore, just helped out with odd jobs. He had heard of Regula, however, and wanted to meet her multiple times, as he heard she was a well loved individual by many others in the community.

He was up fairly early today, making his way around the community for his weekly commute on getting tea from Gwenith. He had frequented her lately, quite a bit. The tea was good quality, much like the one he got back in his homeland of Japan. He loved making it and would make it whenever he could, but he was afraid it was going to be hard to come by in this new world he had arrived on.

Tea in hand, he made himself through the square. Noticing how there were flyers. Flyers about needing help. He looked at them, not wasting any time, before making his way to the Town Square, where he had noticed a small group of people gathering to help put some sort of stage play up. He then noticed two figures talking to each other and approached them.

Kasai took one glance as he looked at Regula and noticed that this was the baroness, as he approached them, not from behind, but from the side, as approaching from behind would be a pretty dangerous move. "Greetings, Baroness Regula. I assume." He bowed as a way of respect in regarding her. "My name is Motome Kasai. I've heard great things about you, Baroness."

He turned to look at Alister. "Ah, you must be the young man that needs some help with this entire play. I'd be happy to help further the development of this overall. Perhaps I could help with some refreshments, first of all? The pleasure is all mine." He reached his hand out for a handshake.

1 Goal: Attempting her best at gaining [Performance]
2. None

Aria had been hard at work in Stonewall, her cold room perhaps made colder by getting a smaller bed, a larger desk, and more drawers to store documents. Her fountain pen wrote fervently as a focused marshal tended to do. Documenting every name, occupation and further details regarding the refugees that had been given sanctuary.

Aria pinched the base of her nose as thoughts of her father invaded her mind. How she had freed Leon after being imprisoned for helping Aria. Was he truly her ally? Or did he only use her to break into a highly protected vault to retrieve some sort of amulet. It was all speculation, and it didn't help that Aria had broken up with her long loved girlfriend, Amanda.

A sigh escaped the marshals lips before putting the pen down and leaning back in her chair as a knock came to her open door. "Yes? What is it?" Aria said as she rummaged through the aged drawers, the sound of the crackling fire and the small hint of charcoal in the air. "It's your mail sir." The military courier looked equally dutiful as he looked at Aria. "Hm. I see, place it in the desk over there. Thank you Cadet Williams." A silent exchange of salutes before Aria took a handful of envelopes and looked through them briefly.

Her heart ached further as never received letter from Amanda were among the pile. Then one in particular from Regula, which made her feel quite guilty. How to explain all the bad things that had happened to her sister? How to tell her that she'd been possibly lied to, and that she'll have to leave again? Maybe for and even longer period of time.

At last a letter stamped as "urgent" and she opened it. It seemed the orphanage had been experiencing a bit of trouble. Aria thought about it, mostly of the fact that she couldn't remember her childhood, that she just one day simply appeared. Which was of course ridiculous.

She would take the letter and place it in her jacket before setting off to the orphanage, perhaps it was for the best she could just relax for a change and enjoy the small communities ambience.

1. Gain favor with the Barony
2. None

Cleo has been quite busy as of late. There wasn't much going on, and though he had the thought to climb higher, he pulled back his ambition in favor of patience. In the meantime, he stuck to tending his meager company, still moving about under the supervision of the Merchant's Guild. The Caelia Barony has been quite a pleasant place so far, especially when its Baroness was benevolent and fair to her subjects. While he couldn't be considered one of her people, he nonetheless received grace from her and for that he feels gratitude.

That was why when Cleo heard of a play involving an orphanage, he didn't hesitate to immediately set out to watch. Partly because he wanted to take a break from all the calculations and paperwork, but also partly because he was curious about the host and investor of the play themselves. He had heard that the host was Alister, the steward of Baroness Regula, and he anticipated that if there's anything he gleaned from the Baroness' actions and the sayings about her, she would personally visit. He had not met both in person yet and this time was his opportunity.

Of course, he wouldn't be alone for the play. He invited a few merchants from the Merchant's Guild, those he considered to be of same vision for the future, to watch the play along with him (Asset D, Merchant's Guild Member). The decision did not have much to it, only that Cleo had hoped this would at least garner more interest into the territory. That was until the play had suddenly began asking for help just hours away from the time of the performance. Cleo knew that the play had found trouble and had few options to turn to, considering that it asked for help through flyers of all things. He sighed in disbelief as he had already sent out the invitations a week prior, and telling them to cancel their visit would be a hit on his reputation. Though it is a children's play and the invitation was informal, the fact that he asked for these people's attendance still happened. He was faced with a decision, one where the answer was obvious to him.

Arriving at the location of the orphanage, he stepped out of the carriage in his full business attire. He fixed his collar as one of his escorts followed after him, wearing sufficiently "civilian" protective gear. Seeing the small stage already built eased a a lot of his worries. This at least meant that the trouble itself wasn't too big of an issue. Still, he'd like to offer some help to completely remove whatever problem the host may be having. It wasn't hard for him to spot two familiar figures by the stage, as he had already known how they looked like, Alister and Regula. Though it seemed they were already preoccupied with a discussion with another unfamiliar figure. Not wanting to interrupt, he simply let his presence known and gave a gesture of greeting, paced around to admire the handicraft of the stage, and waited for the others to finish whatever they were discussing.

Teuihua having heard about the play earlier and presumably the fact that that's where Regula was heading would tag along as well to assist with it. He could probably do a good job being a sizable stage prop or something like that, he imagined whatever it was it wouldn't hurt to have him. He was mindful when he approached not to inadvertently knock into anything or break anything if he could help it, used to navigating spaces which weren't always accustomed to [Large] beings by this point, able to bend himself down if need be to accommodate to squeeze through places.

He likely wouldn't have arrived long after Regula.

The golem gave a wave with his more dexterous hand when he came into the space to the others who had gathered presumably to assist in some capacity, making his way over to Regula and Alister, looking to them and then the others,

"Hello, For those of you who may not know me, I am Teuihua, in the service of the Caelia Barony. With that said I am here to assist with this production how I am found most suited too." He'd look at the stage space, hoping it was reinforced, if it was obviously so he'd feel a bit relieved, knowing better than to make any erratic weighty movements which would risk breaking it should he go onto it. For now However he waited for further instruction, looking to the others some familiar and some less familiar. He'd also pay some extra attention to faces which he had not seen before, making sure that they were 'passing the vibe check' so to speak with his [360 Degree Vision]

Alister did not notice Regula until she came in close and called out to him, the anxiousness about the play really did take a toll on his senses, and mental wellness. Upon hearing Regula's voice Alister felt dread venture up his spine, but he took a deep breath, and a quick exhale before turning around to face Regula with a smile on his face and his clipboard held up high next to his head.
"No. Nothing the matters... Ok, that would be a lie. A few of the people who were supposed to help with the play got sick last minute."
Alister said dropping his smile and lowering his clipboard feeling that he should not lie to Regula, he explained his strife shortly before another person came close to them.

"Not exactly a young man anymore, but yes I am the one in need of help. Normally the refreshments would be my job, but I doubt I'm gonna make anything good with those nerves."
Alister replied trying to jest a little though obviously failing at it. He then gave his own hand up for a handshake giving Kasai a good firm handshake before letting go. "The name's Alister Marrok."

"Honestly Teuihua, there are a lot of things that need helping around. And don't worry about the stage, had it reinforced, it should handle your weight unless you start jumping on it that is..."
Alister replied to Teuihua with a greeting nod, because of his arrival Alister decided to see who had arrived there already. So he gave the area a quick glance finding a quite well-dressed fellow just as he gave his gesture of greetings to them. Alister replied with a similar gesture as well gesturing to him that he was welcome to come closer.
Whether he came closer or not Alister began to explain the issue at hand.
"The people who were helping me finish the set and script, along with a few of the actors got food sick yesterday. Don't worry it's nothing too serious but they won't get well enough for the play and I don't plan to move it. Since my little helper said the kids are really looking forward to it." He said giving a heavy sigh as he finished saying that, before looking at the people gathered and at his clipboard.
"Few of the props still need to be properly set on the stage or painted, thankfully all of them were previously made so only that remains for them. The script is mostly done though it lacks the finale of the play. And then there is the lack of few actors, especially one of two stars of the play, with the one missing looking quite alike to a certain someone." Alister explained to his best abilities first pointing to the pieces of the set that laid beside the stage or were mounted on the stage, then quickly showing whoever wanted to the script for the play with it really lacking the finale, before staring straight at Regula as he mentioned one of two stars of the play that won't be able to play today. Hopefully, Regula got the jist of the idea that the star actor that is missing was playing her in this play as he did not know if Regula would have the energy or time to play in the play.

A short sigh escaped her lips. Why did this particular thing keep happening? Still. She recalled Retili and Amanda's advise. This wasn't the type of thing she should allow to persist. “Baroness Caelia might be more appropriate, but yes, that would be me.” She'd reply, a tad firm, yet hopefully still friendly. She didn't want to sound stuck-up, yet she realised her advisors were correct in that it was inappropriate for strangers to address her by her given name.

The next bit, at least, warranted a genuinely smile. “It's a pleasure to meet you, mister Kasai. I'm glad to hear that.” It seemed like good rumours were still prevailing over any bad ones. She did, should he try to figure it out, seem to have no clue about Asian naming conventions and was under the full assumption she was addressing him by his family name, rather than his given one.

Things got a bit awkward when she saw Aria in the distance. She'd aired her heart out in the letter she'd sent her sister, so now it would be up to her sister to continue. She could only hope they'd have a moment to talk things through sooner, rather than later, as well as that Aria would utilise it.

Seeing a sharp looking man approach, merely gesturing, she wondered for a it. He stood out, that much was clear. She just wondered why. Then she recalled some invitations had circulated the Merchant's Guild (Merchant's Guild Member C) not that long ago. Ones that included her own domain, in that regard. It'd been a tad odd to invite merchants to a children's play, so to those that asked her about it, she'd simply smiled and told them they hoped to raise funds for orphans both from the barony itself and from abroad. Especially those that were orphaned due to the War or the newly arisen Bug Nation. A bit of a bluff, but not a lie.

That said, she wondered. “Are you, per chance, mister Rom?” She asked. She wondered if he was the merchant responsible for these invitations. He did fit the limited descriptions she'd gotten from the TAFTaF. Her question should also allow him to strike up a conversation without worrying about formalities, should he desire it.

Meanwhile, Teuihua would notice something the moment he arrived. Where Regula had occasionally glanced around, towards the alleys and rooftops, towards the skies, towards some people in the crowds and where she seemed on some level of alert, she'd instantly relax and focus entirely on those she was speaking with the moment he arrived. Her own guard down the moment she knew he was around to keep it up. Even in all her strength, it seemed she was more than happy to leave her own safety in Teuihua's hands during such occasions.

Hearing Alister's concerns, Regula would calmly nod. “That is a shame.” She pondered. Her guards? The foxes? “If worst comes to worst, I do believe I could ask for some replacements.” Perhaps Ethel would be up for it? Heavens knew she spoke as if she was in a play on the regular. “Or perhaps some of the ones gathered here wouldn't mind filling in.” She chuckled. “I'd offer to help by replacing them myself, but I believe it'd be more of a show for people seeing a baroness make a fool of herself than a show for kids at that point.” Not only that, it'd likely draw way too much attention of rumours were to spread that the baroness herself was trying to put up a play. It'd risk ruining things for the kids it was intended for.

She clicked her tongue. “Food poisoning might be a more difficult condition to heal on such a short notice.” If not for that, the solution would've been simple. Yet even [Healing B] might not make someone feel fit enough to act on such short notice. It probably would, but let's not ruin the set-up.

There was one thing she was interested in. “Perhaps I could have a look at the script? I'm by now means a playwright, but I know a lot about culture and etiquette” (B) “and I have a lot of adventures of my own to draw inspiration from.”

Kasai waited for a response from the other two as she watched a construct turn up. He was rather big, but seems friendly enough. "Nice to meet you, Teuihua. I am Motome Kasai, please by all means call me Motome." He smiled at the construct, happy to greet the guy. Kasai was a fairly laid back individual.

"Nice to meet you, Marrok-san. I'll be happy to assist you in this endeavor." Kasai said, as he accepted the handshake with his manners. This wolf guy seemed to be nice enough and respectful enough to the newcomer. Kasai then nodded. "I'll start with making the tea and setting it out, then. The pleasure is all mine."

Kasai bowed in apology as he mistakenly called the Baroness by the wrong name. "My apologies Baroness Caelia. That mistake will not happen again." He didn't have the heart to correct her on his wrong name usage or wanted to disagree with somebody on that level of power. It was best to get on their good side regardless instead of correcting them, as it may seem rude.

"If you may excuse me, Baroness Caelia, Marrok-san and Teuihua. I must help with the refreshments." He walked over to where the refreshments were and began to help out.

Seeing Alister's nod, Cleo nodded back as he ordered the escort to stay by the entrance before walking towards the group. It was after Teuihua's arrival that Cleo gave a hesitant pause, before continuing. It wasn't every day that he gets to meet a construct, so he was a bit unsure on how to approach them. "Good day, Baroness Caelia, Steward Marrok, Teuiha, and guest." He curtly bowed to everyone present. He adjusted his collar as he regarded the others. "I am here to help with whatever is hindering the play." He gave a smile.

As Alister began to voice the current problem of the play, Cleo held his chin thoughtfully. "Those matters are certainly troublesome considering the amount of time left." Shaking his head, Cleo looked at Regula as she spoke. "Indeed, I am Cleo Rom from Blue Quill." He answered Regula with a smile. "It's an honor for the Baroness herself to remember my name." He lowered his head, showing sincere respect to her, before straightening back up.

Cleo smiled at Kasai. "A pleasure to meet you too, Mister Kasai." He greeted, unfamiliar with Kasai's name customs. "If Mister Kasai are to help with refreshments, then I can offer my assistance for the play." He voiced to the others. "I am sure the Baroness will do a splendid job with the script, so all that's left are the actors and setting up the props." Cleo nodded to himself before looking at Alister. "If replacements can't be found, I am willing to participate as one of the actors. This mind of mine is fast at familiarizing the script, so I can always improvise if need be. As for the props, I can help with it." He chuckled. "I may not look like it, but I am fond of handicrafts."

"That is a relief to hear Alister, and understood I will do what I can then, particularly in lieu of hearing that there is a shortage of people who were supposed to be here who are not." He'd reply with a warm tone once more, to the information being revealed that the stage had been reinforced and also the shortage and the fact that there were other tasks to do.

He’d stay close for the time being, and he’d also learn why they were short staffed for the production, food poisoning, indeed not all ill feelings could simply be dealt with so easily. So he wasn’t moving it because he didn’t want to disappoint the children, which was reasonable enough.

If things needed to be moved Teuihua could definitely help with that.

He’d pay attention when Regula spoke to mister Kasai, continuing to monitor the surrounding environment.

“Greetings Motome, thank you for helping, I’m certain your assistance will be appreciated.” Teuihua reciprocated to Kasai.

He gave a nod when he mentioned helping with the refreshments. He was glad to hear that the

Then there was the situation with Regula and Aria which Teuihua wasn’t entirely sure what to make of other than there was probably some additional talking that needed to happen to bring things back to normal.

Teuihua also brought his attention to the merchant who approached. He also was pleasantly surprised to see that Regula appeared more at ease since he had arrived which meant that he was presumably doing a good enough job as far as guarding was concerned for her standards, even if Teuihua was always looking for ways to improve for personal goals.

Teuihua gave a nod as he continued to be vigilant of their surroundings.

“And thank you Mister Rom, your aid is appreciated as well.”

“I think for my contribution(s), should there be a need for heavy lifting, or perhaps a large backing needed to hold something up like a sizable stage prop or Prop(s), I can certainly assist there, of course those are more of my strengths compared to acting which is why I put them forward, but if I am needed to fill in there I will as well even if I cannot assure it is an area I am most familiar with.”
He’d conclude.

"I also believe that what everyone else has mentioned being able to contribute, sounds sensible."

"The hardest one to replace will be the main role. However, I tried convincing Miyuki to come and perform as said role even if only once, since she is the one that looks the closest to the heroine of the play. But in the worst case, we would need to rewrite the story a bit to fit someone else into it. But there might be a role even you could fit Baronnes without having to show yourself, the role of the narrator, originally I thought of doing it but a calming and soothing voice such as yours is a much better pick if you wish to do it of course." Alister said as he looked at his own clipboard. He did invite Miyuki to the play as an actor but she didn't answer him, which is already better than a straight-up no but it's so close to the play that at this point they might have to start looking for replacements.

"I can certainly do as such." Alister responded before going to the small backstage and after looking around produced the main copy of the script and came back to Regula handing it to her. "This one is the manuscript of the play, you are welcome to change it up if you want. As for the basis of the story I tried to actually incorporate some of the stories of your adventures, the legends from Teuihua, and other sources related to our Barony. However, I have to say I did not expect kids to be so ruthless when it came to scripts. This one went through twelve revisions before the kid I showed it to told me it was ok to show to kids..." Alister said with a deep sigh once he finished speaking, truly the kid in question had no filter but they spoke truthfully so no reason to hate the kid. Honestly, the longer he interacted with the kid the more he was thinking of either employing the kid as his assistant or hell maybe even adopting them. But that's for the future.

"No need for pleasantries my way mister Motome. I might be a steward of the barony, but today before I stand not as a steward but as a man who simply wants to cheer up the kids."
Alister said trying to honestly rebuke Motome's use of -san suffix, which he heard a few times said in his old world.
"But your help will be appreciated dearly."

Alister looked closely at Cleo's build and face before saying. "You do look quite closely to one of the characters, though a change into a costume would be needed, but facially you are a mirror match to them, minus the glasses." He then looked at the props lying around. "But if you really are as handy as you say, then the props will cry tears of joy. No joke intended. The worst prop left yet to do is the great tree prop. though it is put together and mostly painted it still needs the details painted onto it. Teuihua knows how it should look, after all, I based it on that tree, though I made it a bit paler. Others mostly require a few nails to put them together and then attaching them in the right places on the stage."
Alister looked at all of them, on his clipboard saying. "If anyone needs help or directions please do ask. That's what I'm here for."

Call him Motome? Was that a surname then? She honestly was a tad confused. It'd be a rather early to get so informal so soon. He did get Alister's surname correct. How odd. “No offence taken and... would I be correct you somehow introduced yourself by your given name last, rather than first?” She figured she might as well check, rather than to keep wondering about it. It seemed the man was quick to excuse himself after to get refreshments. Sadly enough, nice as his introduction may be, she figured she'd best not take anything in that case. She'd rather not get poisoned and someone walking up to her and instantly offering to make drinks was about as suspicious as it got. Oddly enough the tailed one (Alister) had gotten away with that a lot easier. Perhaps due to all that subconscious bias and all.

“Good day to you as well.” She'd reply. “No problem, it's a pleasure to meet you.” She'd add, upon his sudden showing of respect. It seemed he was a merchant through and through. Not taking any risk getting unneeded bad reputation from a noble, or just taking any possible chance at increasing it. Then again, as she saw him, a thought did go through the back of her mind. So this was the man that'd once gotten the late count Light to make one of the most horrible deals in Ryke's history? She'd best be weary not to sign anything.

Aria, sadly enough, remained silent. It seemed the awkwardness and distance between them was only going to grow at this rate. She sighed, steeling herself to just push through it. If Aria didn't wish to talk, so be it. Right..? Right...

She focussed her attention back on Alister. “Oh?” She was surprised Miyuki was willing to come act. “That should be a fun sight.” She did want to see the Kitsune act now. “A narrator, you say? How interesting.” She stated, debating the idea. “I think that would work.” She chuckled at the compliments regarding her voice. “You should hear my mother. She'd be even better at that.”

“Oh my, if your script has already been so thoroughly reviewed, I'd best not change up too much.” She stated, as she'd take it and skim through it. She'd probably check it out more thoroughly later. “Although it'd be odd to see my own stories on a stage, even if it's just for kids.” She wondered which ones he'd picked. Some were definitely better than others, at least in her mind. Most would need a few... artistic interpretations. Winners write the history, right?

Cleo listened as Alister began appointing tasks, nodding along as he agreed to the decisions. The part bout the children being critical almost pulled a chuckle from him, but he composed himself. "It is indeed quite commendable, Mr. Marrok, that you would go to such lengths to ensure the play follows through." He looked at Alister with admiration, but even that hid a calculating gaze behind his eyes. Looking at the others, nodded affirmatively. "I agree with this arrangement." Not that there was much to disagree with anyways. "Then I'll be preparing now." He went back to his escort to hand over his blue coat, leaving only his white long sleeved shirt.

Pulling back the sleeves to below his elbows, he approached the stage with enthusiasm. Seeing that stage this closely, he appreciated the level of care Alister had taken to create such a place for the children. It seems like Baroness Regula had quite an eye for people. A thought formed within his mind as he looked at Alister and Regula, but that thought was for a much later time. Taking some of the paint buckets on the stage, he set them right beside the prop of the Great Tree. He approached Teuihua with a smile, clasping his hands together. "So, Mr. Teuiha, I'll be relying on you for the Great Tree." Truth to be told, he has little experience with handicrafts involving stage props, but Alister didn't have to know that.

"The Mictlantecuhtlian tree I take it then?" Teuihua asked, after listening to Alister. He was certainly familiar with that one well enough, though Zeouli would probably have known even more about the tree than himself. He'd nod.

"If that's the case I can certainly give my feedback on how that prop should appear as well as assist with the other aforementioned tasks which I believe I am suited too unless you had other ideas where I could be of use." Teuihua listened to Regula speak with the merchant figure. Upon having Cleo approach him, he'd give another nod.

"Very well I shall assist in overseeing the finalization of this prop, though if there is anything else you require assistance with at any point do feel free to let me know as well." The golem made his way over so that he was standing at a position in a position so that he could best see the prop and the areas which Cleo were working on.

Teuihua would promptly proceed to instruct Cleo what areas of the tree should be touched up to make it look better and more like the actual tree to the best of his ability, and which of those could really use some detailing to hone the whole thing to looking presentable for the children.

"Just because they are children does not mean they do not deserve our best effort after all." Teuihua said decidedly, having known those from his time who wouldn't even bother putting in as much work as Alister already had if the audience was going to be orphans.

"So Mister Rom, if you do not mind me asking, what Is your story? I like to know about some of those who I will be working with, of course if it is not an imposition." He'd inquire presumably when there was a bit of down time in the process.

Kasai didn't have much to say other than wave to Cleo. He had taken in what Regula said, however and made note to not call her by the wrong name again. Then head away nearby to help with the drinks and refreshments. He needed to do that before it became too far out of hand overall. He made sure to double check what was what, before starting to help to hand them out. There wasn't much he could do other than that.

"I don't doubt that, milady. I simply didn't want to involve her in this, just in case she had something more pressing on her schedule,"
Alister stated, responding to Regula's suggestion. As he handed her the script, he continued.
"The play is based on your adventure involving an evil construct near Kirkwall, if I recall correctly. Of course, there have been adjustments made to accommodate Miyuki playing your role, along with other changes. However, since you were present during the actual events, you could potentially incorporate some modifications into this script that would enhance its accuracy and overall quality."
Alister's words were tinged with uncertainty. He had only heard about Regula's adventure through secondhand accounts, which were likely embellished and exaggerated over time. Having Regula, the actual protagonist, review the script would ensure a more authentic portrayal of the events, or at least the feelings/vibe there of.

"Couldn't have put it better myself, Teuihua. Children are the future, and neglecting their well-being is tantamount to abandoning hope for a brighter tomorrow."
Alister declared, echoing Teuihua's sentiment. After all, it was the children who would inherit the world they were building. If the adults failed to invest in their development and preparation, the future might as well be nonexistent.

"Speaking of additional help, you mentioned needing assistance. Perhaps you could play the role of the evil construct."
Alister suggested, addressing Teuihua and Cleo as he moved towards Kasai, who was engrossed in their own task. Upon reaching Kasai, Alister observed them for a moment before speaking.

"Don't worry, I'll find something for you to do if refreshments aren't your forte. You could help me move a few crates if you're feeling strong."
Alister offered, his voice dropping to a hushed whisper as he continued.
"The crates contain dolls for the children. Teuihua and Regula are already in the know, but I want to keep it a secret for now. It's a surprise for them, to be revealed after the play concludes. If you think you're up to the task, you could be the one to hand them out."
Alister's eyes twinkled with a mischievous glint. He might not have known Kasai, but despite that he doubted Kasai would be a person that wouldn't enjoy the opportunity to participate in the surprise. It was a chance to contribute to the joy of the children, and Alister was confident that Kasai wouldn't pass up such a rewarding experience.

Well, Kasai... or Motome, didn't deem her worthy an answer. So much for a good first impression.

As for Alister, Regula couldn't help chuckle a bit. “By her own admissions, Miyuki seems in a permanent need of having something to do. I'd highly doubt she'd be unable to find some time in her schedule. Besides, I'd like to give her more abilities to help out, as it seems she's gotten a little stuck on being unable to contribute all that much. This would be a great chance for her.”

The story chosen certainly brought up some memories. “That... would seem like a fitting and self-contained story. Assuming we... you know... creatively leave out some parts.” She gave a nervous chuckle. “I'm sure the story told is already nicer than how it played out, so things should be good. Perhaps only a minimal effort. There's definitely no need for too much realism.” Her wings still ached at the feeling of being burned off in an explosion.

As she read through the scrip, she chuckled. She quickly wrote in a line. Regula dramatically shifts around, tails swaying around her like a storm. A flurry of fluffy vengeance against the construct foe. Creative freedom go! She was sure Miyuki would play 'Regula' most successfully.

“Hey, Teuihua, instead of me putting you in a Pocket Dimension, should we say you shielded Drew? That'd surely give you a big reputation boost. Besides, by now, I'm sure that's what you could and would have done at your current strength, no?” She wanted to give him the option of having a bit more of a heroic role to play. “Although I guess if you're playing the evil Construct instead of yourself, that'd beat the purpose a bit... Hmmm. Perhaps playing yourself might be better? Then we'd need Kasai for the evil Construct and Alister for Drew?” Actually. “Or the other way around?”

She was checking the script. “I think we should give a few more lines to Drew.” She looked at Kasai. Seeing how she was ignored when it came to asking him about the names, she gave up on being nice and formal. “Hey, Kasai, you were willing to act, right? What role would you want? I'll try adjust it accordingly. Perhaps you'd make for a good Drew though?”

Then back to Alister himself. “I feel like some scenes might be a tad scary, others a bit wordy. I think I'll try extend the fighting scenes with some more mild-heroic stuff. A few direct clashes rather than mass-nuking the entire battlefield. Like a more traditional fight.” She'd state, as she made a few more notes. She didn't try to adjust too much. Just a few more (tail moving) scenes and some more combat that wasn't too scary.

“This will probably do.” She'd give him the final draw-up. George had some lines going to Drew. Less big explosions, more close-ranged combat. A whole lot more tail-moving scenes. “Cleo, what role did you want again? If Teuihua's not the evil construct, I think you might pull it off.” She could see it. Cleo acting far bigger and more evil. He was the villain that'd pushed the late count Light into a horrible deal, after all.

“Okay, Teuihua, I'm sure you can fight without harming someone for real. What about you two?” She'd ask Alister and Kasai. “I feel like hitting Teuihua with props wouldn't even scratch him, so you could go all-out. You'd just have to make sure to somehow fake taking hits. I'm sure the kids wouldn't be too critical, but if we want it to be exciting without being too scary, we should find that balance between realism and kid-friendliness.” She was getting surprisingly fired up. “What about you, Cleo? I don't think you'd fight much as a merchant. Could you still try act it out? If not, we might need you to be George. His parts don't need any combat acting.”

“If we want to make it more exciting, I could use my [Pocket Dimension] magic to make some of you vanish and appear on stage at will. That'll be like a magic trick. Perhaps during the scene where the construct is defeated and about to explode, you can all be saved like how it actually happened, we just need to make it look like Miyuki's doing it.” She debated the option.

Cleo began to paint on the tree prop, relying on Teiuhua's guidance. Though it was clear that he doesn't have much proficiency in the artistry, he was still being careful to follow every instruction Teiuhua gave. Hearing the construct's question, he chuckled. "My story isn't as quite exciting as many others, unfortunately." Dipping the brush in ink, he looked at the tree this and that way, before continuing. "I do not have exciting adventures, or much experience with fighting. I only know how to talk and use money." Looking back at Teiuhua, his lips thinly smiled. "My past isn't that exciting either." He shrugged, unbothered by his own "mundaneness" as he put another swipe of paint on the tree. "If I had to single out my experiences where excitement could be found, one of them would be freeing slaves from some backalley." He thought for a while. "Though the excitement was more from the fact that it was more dangerous than I thought it would be."

When he heard Alister regard him for his actor role, he spoke with mirth. "An evil construct?" With Regula backing him up, he could only chuckle at the thought. "Right. If you want me to talk like a mean, evil villain, I can." He showed his arms. "But this thin body of mine will not let me be the evil construct." He shook his head. "Respectfully, I must take the role of George then." His eyes gleamed when Regula mentioned using [Pocket Dimension]. "My, quite the grand special effect! If it's no trouble, I'm sure it will add to the play spectacularly." He nodded to himself, though it's quite apparent that he has quite the admiration for magic. He then took a look at Kasai with a thoughtful gaze. "I am partial with Mr. Kasai being the evil construct. I mean no offense with my words, but such muscular build is great for such role." He playfully flexed his arm, showing nothing impressive beneath his sleeve.

Teuihua looked to Alister and nodded, speaking warmly."I am glad that we are in agreement of their importance."

Teuihua then listened to what Regula had to say regarding the play.

"Given we are not trying to retell a historically accurate version of that battle but one which is inspired by it and entertaining but friendly enough for children, I do not see any issues with modifying the story so that it serves the purpose of this play better. As a result I am more than happy to shield drew in this play."

"I'm also willing to play myself, however if no one else is available or willing for the role of that construct which we faced off against I am not opposed to playing the role of that, for the sake of the play it does not need to look as threatening as the one we went up against, but albeit more just an obstacle posing a challenge for the heroes to overcome."

"Even in my civilization we had drama theater but many of the storylines were likely more mature and different from this time's sensibility for what was appropriate for families to see together, so I am glad that we have more modern eyes than my own on them, as truthfully many stories were rather brutal."
Teuihua reflected aloud to himself.

Teuihua nodded once more at what Regula had to say,

"Of course, I will not harm anyone, and you would be correct, it is unlikely you'd harm me with props even if you were to use considerable force. However, I would caution that if you intend on striking me that you don't use too much force so as not to unintentionally break any prop on my body, I am quite sturdy."

"I also believe that the addition of pocket dimension magic could be exciting on stage for children."

Meanwhile Teuihua would also continue to instruct Cleo with the tree detailing. "If you can, try to make sure there is a sense of mass in trunk and roots, it is a sturdy tree which stands the test of time, lasting as many years as it has."

He listened thoughtfully, "I am certain that there are tales you could tell even in life experiences which might feel more mundane to you that would be interesting to others if you put you mind too it, like individuals who you have met in your dealings, there is a lot to the art of business after all, of course I do not mean to be too presumptuous but you seem more interesting to me then you suggest." Teuihua added more lightly.

"Freeing slaves in a back alley is an action which many would find agreeable or even heroic, you should not sell yourself short Cleo." Teuihua added encouragingly.

"As for myself I spent much of my existence protecting the border against the enemies of Mictlantecuhtlia, whether monsters or foreign adversaries. I also sometimes was used as a security detail for individuals deemed worth protecting by the Mictlantecuhtlian nation, such as nobility and high ranking military members."

"There were plenty of long stretches of time where very little happened where I was assigned, but there were other times of great conflict where I was fighting frequently..so like many some times are more exciting than others.."

"It's entirely fine. I am an expert in making tea, however... the other stuff isn't exactly my forte." Kasai carefully placed the last of the refreshments on the table, making sure everything was neatly arranged. He took one look at the crate that Alister had talked about. In his previous life he had seen children become orphans because of villains killing their parents or a building collapse. He rather enjoyed taking his time to look after the children, making sure they were okay. It was important.

"I'd be much more willing to do that. Helping out is something I was used to before I was transported here." He said, smiling as he did so.

He took one look at the others, his orange colored eyes looking over, noting Regula getting herself invested in the play, but he then called her name. "I'd be personally be willing to help play a hero of sorts. I'm not sure how well I'd be at playing a villain."

The suggestion that he was the villain surprised him. "Me? An evil construct? I can very well try... but I fear I'm too nice for my own good." He laughs. "I can very well try, though. I'd love to give it a shot. Count me in. Could be a fun learning experience." I can't be scary like my niece though. She's certainly something else. She can scare people with just her glare.

Alister responded in kind, after all, even he wanted to see how Miyuki would react upon the role's reveal, since she did claim she wants to help in any way possible.
"Oh, I don't doubt that milady, but it will be interesting to see Miyuki's reaction when we reveal to her that she is taking the role of playing you."

"I leave the story to you. You are definitely a better playwright than me in it, especially since the ones from where I hail were rather.... Well, for a lack of a better word, only for very rich snobby pricks of nobles. And the ones told to the populace at large were generally retellings of battles or stories of gods and founders."
He replied to Regula as if the story truly was in her hands at that moment. As Alister knew when to give up when it came to his writing skills, he was only good at reports and documentation, not stories. And law, somehow Alister was good at law despite being a lawless person in his past world.

"I know how to pull my punches... or kicks to be honest. Haven't fought for millennia to not be able to hold back."
He answered simply and kinda out of the hat. Not like he had a hat, but he did not filter his words when in this company, either he did not feel the need to or he simply did not want to.

"The timing might be off if we do that, but then again we do have some time, so one quick rehearsal would not harm us. Though we need to wait for Miyuki to show up for that."
He replied to Regula's suggestion of using pocket dimension in the play. It wasn't a bad idea, just getting the timing right would be a pain.
"Now that you say it, Mr. Kasai does have quite a big built. We do have a costume for the evil construct, though it is a fake piece of armor with fake joints and all that. The one who made it might have as well dismantled a knight construct for it in all honesty. Though it might be a tad tight squeeze for you Mr. Kasai."

"Very well, we finish with those things, we can do a quick rehearsal, we would probably still have time to make some quick changes before the kids arrive, and we would have to play for real."

She'd listen to Cleo's contemplations. “Hmmm... For comedic effect, it'd fit perfectly. Although I guess that's another genre.” She'd nod. “Alright, the role of George it is. It's a shame we've got nothing to fill in for Littlefoot... Unless... Perhaps you could use a prop to play Littlefoot? It's George's trained bird, in case you didn't know.” She'd look around to see if she could find something that'd make for a good Littlefoot prop.

The usage of Pocket Dimension was quickly included into the script. “That it will be. I'm assuming none of you is afraid of the dark?” She'd double-check, just in case.

Looking at Kasai as well, she'd agree. “True. It'd be a bit more realistic that way.”

With Teuihua agreeing to some of the modifications, she'd nod. “Good, good.” She'd quickly add them to the script. Upon him playing the evil construct, she'd shake her head. “Let's not risk it. Kids too young might not understand you're not actually evil. We'd not want to have them run from their lives if you ever need to come in to protect them.”

The topic between Teuihua and Cleo also resounded wither her. “Indeed. Freeing slaves is generally a worthwhile and heroic story.” She'd chuckle a bit, slightly uncomfortably so, as she recalled how she'd fucked up in Sootspire again. Best not linger on that and bring the mood down.

With Kasai also asking to be a hero, they'd be a bit stuck on not having a villain. Thankfully, he chanced his mind soon enough. “Don't worry, we can put on some fake armour or something to make you seem like a bulky evil construct. Then... Just imagine you're fighting criminals? The Construct we met didn't speak. It just attacked on sight. You just need to over-exaggerate your motions so that they show well enough, that should suffice.” She figured that'd work.

Alister's response about Miyuki made her laugh a bit. “Indeed. I wonder how great of a 'me' she'll be playing.” The thought alone was rather entertaining.

“With the roles and details settled upon, it'll be no big deal.” She'd state, as she'd fix up the last bits (Culture B, Etiquette B) to make it a proper play for the kids that'd come see it. Proper enough at least. “If anyone would want to help out making copies so that everyone can practice, that'd be great. ”

The timing being off didn't seem like the worst risk to her. “I'm sure it'll work out. Especially, like you said, with some practice.”

Seeing how it was practice time, she'd start reading some 'narrator' lines aloud (Focus B, Leadership B, Persuasion B) with far more passion than a kid's play would likely warranted. At least normally.

Cleo hastened his work on the props, but still carefully moved with his work. "Working two parts in the play as a bit stressful." He laughed about splitting his focus on the props and acting, though it was easy to tell it was not a burden for him. "Ah, the upper folks." He empathized with Alister, shaking his head as he too remembered some dealings with the high class. "Many of them never seem to find the strength to end conversations, worse if it was about their luxury." He sighed. "Indeed, it is a great blessing for the Baroness the oversee the play's story herself." He spoke sincerely, never missing the chance to praise Regula. Though it intrigued him that the steward was apparently familiar with such circles of folks. Perhaps he'll find an opportunity with him.

Hearing Teuihua's impression of himself caused him to smile with mirth. "Is that so? Hearing that I am seen as interesting is quite a compliment." Teuihua called his endeavor with the slaves heroic, but truly it was more of a "procurement of free manpower"; though he won't say such a thing. "In my opinion, I place far higher respect to your contributions, Mr. Teuihua, than my own." He chuckled as he finished painting the tree according to his instructions. "It is no easy feat to protect, much less doing it for so long." He sighed. "I do not mean to downplay my own achievement, Mr. Teuihua, but yours and the Baroness simply have much greater significance than I do." He looked at the construct with a smile. "I am not disheartened to have little going for me. I have wealth and connections, a luxury many would die to have. It is only my disappointment that I cannot contribute much for the others, especially for people like you."

After Regula agreed with his action with the slaves, Cleo felt flattered considering it was coming from the most generous baroness he knew of. "Only doing what I can, Baroness Regula." He nodded "My Blue Quill may be but a humble company, but we still strive to be good citizens of the kingdom." He nodded to himself as if proud. Cleo only listened as Alister and Regula conversed about the play, and wondered who this "Miyuki" person is. Since the person was a close contact of the baroness, there was no doubt she was just as exceptional as the steward or her entourage. "Acting for a little bird? I am no ventriloquist, but I am acting for a children's play. I do not mind." He replied to Regula, gesturing his hands to mimic a bird's moving head.

Seeing Kasai was partial to the idea of being the villain despite his inclination, Cleo beamed at him. "Worry not, Mr. Kasai. Just as the Baroness have said, not talking is a great advantage. Simply move with wide exaggeration, and I would no doubt mistake such actions as nothing short of menacing." He chuckled. "Of course, I prefer this gentler demeanor of yours, Mr. Kasai."

After the calling for a quick rehearsal, Cleo didn't waste time and helped himself with a copy of the play before acting out his role. It was apparent that he didn't have much experience with acting, but his clear cadence and the emotion behind his voice (C Persuasion, E Leadership, F Empathy, E leadership) was a highlight of his. He even tried to play Littlefoot, but it was a little awkward with the way he visibly moved the prop over his shoulder.

Teuihua replied, “No, no fear of the dark here.” Even though he figured Reugla knew that much with his Fear resilience, Teuhua didn’t really fear much of anything.

He also found the changes agreeable as Regula confirmed she heard him,

“That’s a reasonable concern, we do not want there to be any misunderstandings, the last thing I would want to do is scare any of the children, even I understand that my size is enough to deal with as, which is only exaggerated when you’re as small as many of them are without me acting in a frightening way even if it’s acting.”

He was satisfied to hear her reasoning there to say the least.

He was pleased to hear that she found his comment about freeing slaves agreeable.

Sounded like Kasai was willing to play along which was good too.

“Indeed it’s just acting even if what you are pretending to be does not hold true to you as a person, I’m sure you’ll do just fine.” Teuihua verbally reassured Kasai positively.

Teuihua continued to passively guide Cleo where he could on the prop work.

“We appreciate your assistance mister Rom.” He’d also add again after the bit stressful comment which Cleo spoke.

“I think so, and I do say that truthfully I am not one to be deceptive, liberating slaves is no small feat.”

Teuihua was a bit surprised to hear Cleo compare himself to Regula and himself, and he felt a sense of warmth at the positive words, while at the same time feeling a bit bad that Cleo felt inclined to compare himself against others when that was far from necessary in Teuihua's mind.

“Oh, thank you, that’s quite kind of you to say Mister Rom, I am humbled that you would extend that sentiment to myself, while of course my Lady deserves plenty of praise for all the hard work which she’s been doing right along, so it is quite nice to hear you acknowledge her.”

“Even if you do not feel like you have much going on for you, you strike me as someone who is very capable in just how you carry yourself. I think it is likely that whatever criteria you set for achieving ‘muchness’ you are capable and will be able to meet those aspirations if you so desire.”

Teuihua continued to help out where he was needed until it was time for Rehearsal where he would do his best to well be himself, which was a great advantage, pretending to be yourself doing other things, as Teuihua had quite a bit of experience being himself. Regardless he would do his best with whatever he was needed for as well as playing his part.
