Youth, though beautiful always came with the negatives like everything else - except most of the time it was covered with sugared smiles and simply getting by. Though there's a certain prettiness that comes with it, no one could quite describe the warm sadness that damasked it with insecurities and anxieties. Youth is unforgiving, destiny is pitiful and life is full of temptations - some we choose to follow and others we must resist. In a small town of South Port, there's a group of teens who don't quite want to fit into the mold expected of them. There's a group of teens whose drive for wanderlust and thirst for fire is beyond what they could have imagined. They find solace in each others pain, they find solace in the night - the one thing originally bringing them together being the clear view of the night sky. Not a single cloud in the sky, not a single tear to be seen. Just beautiful purple constellations.

"Jesus..." Ricky murmured before pelting the newspaper away in whatever direction. It wasn't like anyone here really cared for litter anyway. He was sat on one of the benches outside the bust stop waiting for nothing really, he was out of breath from running away and found that the bus stop was the best place to be considering there weren't any actual busses that came to this town. The mayor promised that it would be renewed for 2016 but of course that never came to see day. He stared towards the paper he threw and sucked his teeth before shaking his head. "You'd think that they'd found her by now, how fucking large can South Port be?" he stood up and kicked his feet at the ground, his gaze lowered with each kick and his eyebrows furrowed. A part of him was also angry at the fact that the writers gave her such a small section in comparison to a US moose count. He sniffled a bit before looking to his side, across from his eye view he could see just about where Eden field ended, the sight of flashlights still there. He squinted a little, recognising most of the members of the community - the retired war vet Mr. Harrison, Kayas' parents themselves, the Hamiltons and to Rickys' surprise even some people who Ricky was sure as hell hated Kayas' guts. Ricky would be looking for the girl like them too if he didn't know any better. If a girl didn't want to be found then she wouldn't, that's why girls are smarter than men - or at least his mum told him. He pulled up the grey hood of the hoodie he was wearing under his black leather jacket. It was reaching late Autumn and early Winter and Ricky would be damned if he didn't wear anything to keep him warm. He pulled out his phone before quickly seeing to texting Ava.

'are you out with the search party?'

"Hypocrites..." he said looking ahead. He was sure that hadn't it been for the extensive media coverage than none of the people would be here trying to look for Kaya, some young, stupid youth. He began walking away from the area, deciding to head to the convenience store. It was twenty three minutes too early for his shift but maybe if he checked in early he'd be able to get something to drink, that and he could just get away from all the bullshit surrounding him too. Ricky was sure that if he had a choice of association with anything, it would never be South-Port. Usually when Ricky checks in, he usually gets people who claim to know him from parties or people who he's actually spoken to all trying to get free alcohol, not that he ever gives it anyway. Not unless he really likes them. On the way there he fumbled around in his pocket and lit up a cigarette, he never smoked regularly - only socially but the last couple of months took their toll and he's now what his friends like to call a 'stress smoker'. He scoffed to himself before continuing onward.

The girl sighed, drumming her fingers on the freshly cleaned counter she was standing behind. Business was slow that day, currently just a couple trying to decide on candy, and a guy who looked spaced out deciding on chips. She leaned forward on the counter, resting on her elbows as she waited for one of them to actually decide to buy something. Zephyra was zoning in and out fo focus of her surroundings, she almost didn't hear her phone buzz.

She squatted down, to fig through her bag and our out thr phone to see a text from her roommate Frank. He asked what time she got off, then gave her a list of things he wanted from the store she was working at. She rolled her eyes, and didn't answer, and stood back up. She went back to leaning on the counter until the couple came up with an armful of food, where she then began the process of ringing their stuff up.

While doing this, the woman, a short scrawny thing with dirty blonde hair, looked over at the newspaper stand. "Aww, that poor girl is still missing...I hope she's alright." She said, gently touching her boyfriends arm, who just shrugged. Zephyra cocked an eyebrow though as she got the boxes of cigarettes he had asked for. So, She IS still missing. Zephyra thoughtagging their shrugged tuff and taking the money.

After they left, the girl walked around the counter and grabbed one of the newspapers to read over  the page Kaya. Of course Zephyra was a little worried, since she kinda knew the missing girl. She would come into the store and always by the same damn thing, strike up a small friendly conversation, and leave. But Zephyra kinda brushed it off as Kaya wanting to do her own thing for awhile, maybe she even ran away. Who knows. Maybe when she got off work, Zephyra would help the search party.

Speaking of getting off of work, she looked over at the clock and sighed. Four more hours, great.

her phone always blew up with notifications. and they were always the same phone numbers. they were from south port, so she knew it was kids in the town that would mess with her.

torment her.

make her feel pain.

not physical, emotional.

since she was a baby, she's struggled with weight. she had slow metabolism, and her parents weren't there enough to tell her what she can and can't eat. she didn't play sports. in school, she'd do whatever she can to get out of gym and physical education.

the notifications--texts and emails--always said the same thing. 'you're fat' and 'pig' and 'you'd be pretty without all that extra skin'.

and sometimes, she'd go to shylock's place and confide in him, because that's what best friends do. and sometimes, she'll sneak in the town's bar and drink the pain away.

most times, it's best she goes to shylock. and she did just that.

she practically lives there, but she's never slept in his bed. it's enough that she's constantly there. he needs his privacy. that, and she takes up more than half of his bed, and compared to her, shylock is a twig. she sleeps on the couch.

she slept there again, and didn't wake up until around noon. she was still wearing her clothes from the day before, but whatever. her hair was in obnoxious knots and twists and turns, but whatever.

the television was on, and they were talking about kaya williams. the mystery. she ran, and hasn't been found. eleanor's been questioned quite some time by the police about the missing blonde, but she has nothing to share, so they stopped questioning her.

The blonde woke up feeling tired.

A day full of constant writing and a long night spent talking to Eleanor had him sleeping just a few hours, but he wasn't complaining.

Shylock didn't have that many friends, but which he could talk about anything with was enough for him.

It was eleven, so after a few minutes spent rolling around in his bed he raised and walked to the kitchen, making himself and his best friend coffee.

His hair was a mess, he realized this by walking in front of a mirror on the way to the living room, but he'd have time to prepare later.

"Good morning." He murmured, rubbing the sleep away from his eyes, rounding around the couch to sit onto it.

But with a slight halt he noticed the female figure still sitting on it, so he decided to instead turn toward a nearby chair and out on the TV on the lowest volume possible while waiting for coffee.

Shylock spent about two hours drinking coffee, texting with a bunch of girls that had contacted him through his Instagram account, and listening to the news.

It was around noon when he noticed Eleanor stirring awake.

"Oh, thought you were dead." He faked a disappointed noise "I was already planning a place where to hide the body, dammit."

Shylock shook his head, giving her a slight caress to the shoulder before also sitting on the couch, avoiding the space where her legs still were.

He instead stretched his own long ones forward, resting his head back on the couch in exhaustion.

"There's some coffee left, but I guess you'd prefer lunch now, I have leftovers from yesterday's chinese. But, ew."

He moved his attention to the television, immediately understanding the argument when the world "missing" and "porth south" reached his ears.

His lips pursued a little, and Shylock had to fight the need to shake his head.

"Kind of stupid that they're still searching for her here.  She could be in Himalaya owning a dozen sheeps for all we know. We should do something like that to, maybe."

Life in South Port was slow, boring, and tiring.

Always the same old news, the same old people.

Shylock for one could not stand the way many judged his friend Eleanor for something she had little to no control over, or how he still received dirty looks from those who knew his story.

The blonde often found himself thinking about his father, wishing he'd never had that fight with him.

But you say and do things, and are left with the consequences.

Running to Himalaya and owning a dozen sheeps seemed like a good enough escape goat.

Iminathi Gisempa

Iminathi sat up on the side of her bed that morning, yawning and generally looking and feeling like a piece of cap. Yesterday was hectic, she had spend most of the morning helping in the search of Kaya while most of the evening to early hours of today cleaning up at the kitchen of her restaurant. She was exhausted and only had a couple of hours of sleep to make up for it. She would have slept longer if she could but she had a meeting with her probation officer later this morning. Most pointless thing in the world at this point, it was a couple of years since her anger got the better of her and she hurt somebody and since than she had been out  of trouble, sorted her problem and had a job.

Still she had to go so pushed herself to stand and went to the shower. After a quick wast she walked to the living room slash kitchen and made herself some cereal, she sat down and as she eat watched some tv. she saw on the box she used as a coffee table was yesterday's newspaper mentioning Kaya and she sighed. It was almost a week since Kaya had disappeared and it was after one of their girls night out. She sensed nothing that was wrong with Kaya that night, she seemed perfectly normal and happy. Maybe it was you... An all to fimiliar voice came to her mind. You drove her way like so many others. She was sick of all your problem.... She tried to shake the thoughts of her mind. Kaya was just lost or something had happened to her, it wasn't anything to do with Iminathi. Iminathi finished her meal and made her way out of her apartment.

Tyson King- TK

"The Gym.... Trying to forget his week and enjoy is time off."

He couldn't remember what time exactly he strolled into the gym this morning, TK knew it was still dark out but nothing else and he didn't know what time it was now either, he couldn't remember from the last time he checked his watch. No, all he knew was that it had been his day off and the short vacation from his job was in progress. He had earbuds in his ears listening to music, currently to Daughtry and there song... Open up your eyes. Though he was often more a country and classic rock kinda guy TK did have other styles and eras of music on his iPod. Wearing a faded Journey t-shirt and Nike shorts with a old pair of Jordan's, the man continued about his day, clanging and banging metal' the sounds of weights echoing in the room while TK's face kept on rolling beads of sweat from his brow and off his face to his long since drenched shirt of sweat. Muscles aching from hours spent repeating the process, lifting weights, doing his exercises, testing his knee and running laps, his chest moving in Rhythm to the breaths taken, struggled motions up and forward during lifts and workouts on different benches and machines in the gym. While his voice nearly broke its maintained volume in singing along to his music and whatever song was playing at the time on several instances. It seemed like today was a slow day for the gym and though he usually stayed home and did his thing in his apartment, he came to gym where he had more options and workouts to do, TK figured it was slow because of the missing girl and the search parties out there, and his instances of nearly breaking to audible volume of singing was safe enough to not bother anyone because of it, not that he was a bad singer just was less high on himself and his singing so often tried to hide it. The story about the girl was unfortunate... Young and missing, it had been a week or so and yet no sign of her or body. Hopefully she was alive atleast, maybe once it all blew over and she was found, if she was found... She would be alive to see her family and friends again. Though South port was small even a country boy from Kansas knew that much, anyways, if she was here then she was one hell of a hide and seek player, beating a entire town of folk for as long as she had, if that were the case.

No. TK imagined she was likely long out of reach of south port and off somewhere else, doing whatever it was that kept her busy and mind off the city, perhaps. Despite the mayors poor job and regard for it all, his declining popularity year after year and the growing lack of trust the people of south port had for him couldn't have changed that or effected the outcome too much.

For the time TK kept on working out, determined to forget his job that he so hated and keep his mind off the news even though he hoped for the best with the girl, it would do him little good to keep his head wrapped around the story and those out searching for her and he was one of them off and on since the story broke. No, right now he was focused and determined to keep pushing himself, he had a fading dream in his mind and lost a lot of time to achieve them, which would have been a making his dreams become reality moment, but with the injuries suffered the last time he stepped onto a court, the last time he tried his luck on the mat. Time was lost, confidence shattered, dreams now looking bleak, like a fading light at the end of a tunnel.  It was sad really.... Ones confidence shouldn't be so tied to one aspect, perhaps but for Tyson it was and always had been. He was a humble enough guy growing up and still had that kind of mentality  when he was still active on the teams he was on, just letting the crowds and people around him in school do their thing and he did his, smiling and giving a nod or wave to acknowledge them and show thanks for the support or attention they were intent on giving, the pressure too sometimes. But anyways he often drowned them out when needed and just kept on, keeping on.

You see TK was born in Kansas and lived there for the first part of his life, until a tragic and freak of nature accident occurred and took the lives of his parents and left him with a permanent reminder of it, a burn and scarring on his chest. Then his sisters who were a fair bit older then him came home from spouth port where they had since lived and after the funerals and ceremonies took him with them to south port as they were his next of kin and now guardians. Since he attended school in south port, junior high, high school and would have gone to university too if not for his injury and lost scholarship. Now that same boy now man was selling cars for a old and tired grump who ragged on TK constantly, while he in turn sat back and did nothing on the small car lot the guy owned and operated. TK couldn't stand the guy, often having his patience pushed beyond his willing limits and almost decking the guy once or twice.... He was old but not too old to be hit. He was fifty something so Tysons personal rule of respecting elders and not hitting them wasn't quite in effect with this guy. But.... A jobs a job and if all went well maybe his dreams would be answered and he could get off that stinking lot and do something exciting, something cool and something that could make the long journey back worth it.

Rowan awoke to the warmth of a body beside her. Claire Oswald. She didn't quite have a clear

memory of what happened last night, but she knew it had something to do with frustration. Claire

stirred beside her, then Rowan could feel a weight lifting on the bed. A warm kiss landed on her neck,

but Rowan brush her off. She threw the covers off of her body, and pulled on her leggings and crop top.

Claire's face grew a concern, before she too climbed out of bed. "Hey, babe." Claire murmured as she

placed her head in the crook of Rowan's neck.

Rowan turned around to face her before breathing a heavy sigh. "You need to go, Claire. My mom will be home

any minute and she will not like the sight of this." Rowan said. Claire pouted with her plump, pink lips before huffing.

"Fine." She said, pulling on her skinny jeans and flowy T-shirt. A few minutes later, Claire left, and Rowan

was left alone in her room to ponder thoughts. After turning on the TV, Rowan sat up in interest about the missing girl, Kaya. Shaken up, she turned off the TV and fell back on her bed again. In 30 minutes, her mom arrived home and yelled at Rowan to 'Get out of this goddamn house!" Rowan stumbled to her after her mom pushed her encouragingly and grabbed her keys and phone. After one last look at the purple and blue marbled hair tie Claire left on the side of her bed,

she walked out of her room and house to explore the world. As she was getting in her car, she called her friend

Iminathi to see if she wanted to hang out.

Antonio was annoyed. Well not really, but it was getting annoying to hear the same story on the news over and over. "Local girl missing, last seen with friends." It wasn't that Antonio didn't care, but he knew this girl, and he knew that wherever she was, it was probably better than here. Ignoring the news, he switched the channel to something more interesting, cartoons of course, while eating his cereal. He had work in half an hour, and it took him about ten minutes to walk there, which gave him just enough time to walk to a store and buy some snacks. He didn't have a car, because he didn't really need one. It was less expensive to just walk to work every morning. Finishing his cereal, Antonio glanced at his phone, checking the time before slipping on his shoes and heading out the door. The quick jog down the stairs took him about 2 minutes, and once he stepped outside it was like every problem floated away.

Antonio loved fresh air. It just feels so good compared to the air in his apartment. Taking a second to breathe in the air, he started his journey to the store. Well, it wasn't really a journey considering it was only a few blocks away. It was a store he frequented often, enough to know the name of the girl who worked there. He didn't necessarily consider her a friend, but he didn't have a reason to dislike her either, so they were acquaintances, you could say. Antonio turned the corner and was met with the front of the convenience store, biting his lip to conceal a grin. Come on, who didn't like the thought of buying whatever candy you wanted? He opened the door, a rush of cold air hitting him in the face. He reminded himself to bring a jacket next time he came, but it was no use as he always forgot. He sent a smile to the girl behind the counter, Zephyra, her name was, before heading to the candy isle. It took him a few seconds to scan the isle and pick what he wanted. It ended up being a bag of Skittles and a chocolate bar. After getting that, he walked to the freezer and picked up a soda. Smiling to himself, Antonio made his way back to the front, giving the girl a grin before placing the items on the counter. "Morning!" He looked around, noticing the lack of customers. "Wow, it's pretty busy in here." He joked, his grin never faltering despite how bad the joke was.

Zephyra looked up when Antonio walked in, smiling a little since he was in there often. She like him more than the other regulars since they were all creepy old guys who always k mop lingered a litthe too long when she was stocking. She looked back down reading over more of the newspaper, then looked back up when he came up its the stuff he wanted. She chuckled a little bit at his comment. "Yep, I'm slammed," She said, scanning his items. "I don't even know why I'm here, everyone is out looking for that missing girl, they could'very given me the day off."

Deciding that he was done with his daily dose of smoke, he put it out with his foot, grinding it down until there was nothing left before breaking into a slow jog. Waiting on Ava's reply, anxiously so, he decided the best kind of therapy would be to just go to work, maybe forget. He jogged over to work to notice that - Zendaya? Zenia? Zephyra - he noticed Zephyra was still on shift at the store near his own. The only reason he knew her was through her roommate, Frank. Frank had always been a bit shady to Ricky, mainly because he was the only one Ricky couldn't get his head around - weird kid. He met Zephyra twice whilst visting Frank, she was a good girl. Speaking of Frank, he hadn't spoken to the guy in a while. He walked to where he worked and saw Zephyra with the loud kid, loud because Ricky didn't know his name and every time he was remotely next to him he ended up with an ear ache whilst walking home. Looking around the place and seeing that it was practically empty - most likely due to the search party, that and the newly found supermarket near Brooke Street had everyone leaving the more old place shops in favour for buying all their goods at one place, not that Ricky could blame them. Even target was getting a bit old considering the hadn't upgraded this one since it'd been first made. The boy rushed over to the counter propping one elbow on the surface with his chin resting on the palm of his hand. He looked at the other with a side glance, giving him a brief smile before and murmuring a small 'hi' before turning his attention.

"Zephyra" he said with a smile, dragging out the 'a' in a childish tone. "I saw your boss by the search party, and the rest of your co-workers were there too, do you really need to be here?" he said cocking his head to the side with curiosity. "It's just that Michael was there too, told me I could take the day off if I wanted to - didn't they let you?" Michael being her bosses (the manager of this branch of target) best friend and greatest rival when it came to trying to actually sell things and making the most profit when they were younger. He picked lollies from the lollipop stand and placed more than he needed to, knowing they sell the same for the same price across different stores but also wanting to give a little extra after having known her situation from Frank.

Ava looked over herself in the mirror. She was still in her pajamas and work makeup, smudge from sleep and stress. She debated not going to the club tonight - these sleep lines looked pretty bad and she was rather low on foundation. But would concealer really help against sleep lines? Maybe she should go all-natural tonight... ha, as if. There was no way she was going to get with the hottest guy there unless she put something on her face. Looking over her makeup options, she sighed heavily and decided a trip to the local convenience store was in order. Hopefully they'd have her color. She paused as her phone dinged. Someone was texting her. Swiping the screen open, she noticed the sender, Ricky. Out with the search party? So there really was people looking for the runaway. Picking up the phone, she turned and leaned against the sink.

'nah'

'searching for a party instead'

'do you have my foundation at your store?'

Locking her phone as of habit, Ava left the bathroom, arriving in her bedroom. She tossed her phone onto the bed and promptly stripped down, not caring if the windows were open or not. Anyone out this late had probably already seen her like this before, and Ava had all but lost all sense of shame. Her closet was a walk-in, and propping the door open with one of her ugly work shoes she stepped inside, looking over her outfit options. There was a lot to choose from... But first she needed a store run. Hopefully Ricky's been paying attention when she decided to rattle on about makeup to him that one time. She doubted he'd know what her color is, but still, it didn't hurt to ask. Tossing on some obscure band T-shirt, a pair of jeans, black boots, and wooly brown hoodie, Ava sighed again at her hair and pulled it into a messy bun, tromping her way downstairs. Picking up keys and wallet, she walked outside, locking the front door behind her, turning to walk down the street. This trip had better not be for nothing.

Zephyra Ross

The girl looked Ricky directly in the eyes with a serious expression. "I need money," She deadpanned, "And no. Andy didn't tell me anything, so I'm stuck here until I either get a phone call, or my shift is over," She groaned. "You're lucky." She finished up with Antonio's stuff, the price coming up to about 5 bucks.

Deciding enough was enough and the hours spent in the gym were now done. TK got up and wiped off the bench, grabbing his things and hitting the showers. Following with a return of his spare clothes and putting on some cologne, fixing his hair and once more grabbing his bag now leaving the gym and getting on his Harley with the bag loaded up behind him inside the side bags of the bike, turning on the radio to listen to some music and hitting the road as his Harley sounded in roar as he rode off. Simply driving down the roads with his mind on the music and eyes on the road, though he did vere off and take glances around what he passed along the way.  (Rather short so apologies for that one.)

Antonio chuckled before reaching in his pocket and pulling out some cash. When he looked in his hand, it was 5 dollars and some change. He heard the sound of the shop door opening, and turned around to see another male enter the building. He'd seen the guy around before, but he didn't know much about him. The boy, who obviously knew Zephyra, offered him a small hi, before turning his full attention to the girl. They talked about work and the search party, but Antonio mainly tuned them out as he grabbed his stuff and gave Zephyra the money. Once his snacks were paid for, and were safely in his hands, he turned back to the other two, only catching the last of their conversation. "That's kind of sucks for you. But look on the bright side, you can have all the free snacks you want." He offered her a smile. Antonio tried to see the bright side in everything, especially when the situation was a bad one. "When you get off you're shift you should come to the cafe, I'll get you a free coffee." He turned to look at the other boy, expanding his invitation to him too. "I'm Antonio by the way." He added while extending his hand.

If business is running slow you're welcomed to ours" Ricky said with a shrug of his shoulders but then realised she probably thought him crazy for actually working an extra shift so he decided to justify his actions even though he didn't really need to, "extra shift twice the pay" he quickly mentioned before turning his attention to the other male at the store who was suddenly introducing himself. Ricky was surprised, he thought he'd be annoyed because Ricky interrupted his flirting - or maybe that was the outcome Ricky secretly wanted. He held it in himself before extending a hand out to who he now knew as 'Antonio'.

"Ricky" he said with a firm grip on the others. Handshakes were always awkward for Ricky - one because he wasn't sure just what was the socially etiquette amount for the amount of shakes in a handshake - not that anyone aside from Ricky actually cared on such small details. "Just might take you up on that offer if I get another oldie accusing me on how I had something to do with the runaway" he said, sucking his teeth before removing his elbow off the counter and this time actually sitting on the thing. He swung his legs for a while before asking "Did you guys join the search party for any of the previous days?" he asked with his eyebrows raised before he felt the familiar vibrations of his phone in his left jacket pocket.

'do you have my foundation at your store?'

Ava.

'the one you were prattling on about? made sure Michael bought it in bulk after you wouldn't shut up '

'i'm at target, come meet me here'.

Knowing Ava she probably felt like she looked like crap and needed new foundation not to look like a zombie, that and she was out to score again which Ricky would always find infinitely amusing, how someone as innocent looking as her had such a personality but then again the same could be said for Ricky or any of the people in South Port really - all hiding behind fake smiles and everything.

Zephyra Ross

She smirked at Antonio a little, "I guess you're right, free snacks are cool." She always liked the little conversations between the two of them. And then he offered her free coffee, or she thought it was her he was offering it to, maybe both of them. "I'd love a free coffee, might just take you up in that offer." She said, be free he turned to introduce himself to Ricky. "You dinner need to explain a second shift, I know why people do it," She said. "Though I'm fine not working later tonight." She went quite for a few minutes as she did a few things with stuff behind the counter, only tonight rejoin when she topic was steered or the search party. "I went the first week, since Frank was going too. I had lost my key at the time. Haven't gone since, but a few people come in afterwards so I'm not completely clueless to how well its going." Her voice held a sense of sarcasm.  @Aleena @TR41NZ

TK- Tyson King

The rider of the day sitting atop his bike as the Harley roared beautifully and soared through the streets of South port. Music on and playing between ads and annoying commercials for random and various things, wind flowing through and causing his hair to rise and sway in the breeze while the cool air touched his face. TK continued down the road seemingly riding without any clear or determined place in mind, just riding and allowing the free air and coolness of the wind as he rode on through and down the roads. "Jesse rides through the night"  His voice began to sing along as the commercials ended and the party block continued with journeys 'still they ride' "Under the Main Street light, ridin' slow" TK continued

Pulling up toward the local target and picking a near spot to park his bike. TK continued to sing along to the radio, knowing the song rather well as he was a avid Journey fan and fan in general of music he liked, whether they be rock or country perhaps even some of the older works of the two genres and older eras of pop and blues. Parking his bike and getting off the black and dark orange striped Harley, TK ensuring his bike was shut off and key placed in his pocket continued toward the door and walked into Target giving a nod upon notice of Zephyra, Antonio and Ricky.
