Fandom (RWBY) Welcome To Beacon [OPEN]

Not related or anything but I just drew a really self-indulgent picture of my OC, North, and dang I want to show it, but this isn't the OOC chat

Welcome To Beacon!
Here is the RP Chat Room that we will be using, as well as a link within it to the OOC Chat. Please be patient as I am also trying to work out personal situations. I promise I will welcome you all to Beacon in the coming hours though! Happy Hunting!

A chilled breeze ran through the forests of eastern Vale, sending a shiver through the form of the young Faunus. Standing stark still, her sharp senses desperately tried to attune themselves to the environment. It had been almost two weeks since she had first left Vale with her mentor across the mountain range surrounding the kingdom. It acted as a natural wall to guard against the predations of the Grimm, but this did not make the mountains themselves safe. The trek through the underused passes was one of the most taxing experiences of her life, even when taking into consideration her considerable stamina. The creatures of Grimm did not make the journey any easier, hounding the two incessantly as they moved ever eastward. Never once though did she voice a complaint of the frigid conditions or unforgiving pace. After all, she asked for this. She asked to be made into a Huntress worthy of Beacon, worthy of her family line. Schatten was more than able to provide the skills necessary, but it was up to Eis to prove she could pay the price.

So now she stood in the small clearing, the morning dew kissing her skin as it dripped from the canopy above her. It was so serene, as if attempting to goad the fox into simply laying down for a nap. After all she had been put through these past weeks, did she not deserve it. So encaptivating was this though that she barely missed the sound of rattling chains approaching her at a concerning pace. Instinct took over, adrenaline surging through her weary body as she darted out of the way of the chain blade that burrowed into the ground she was just standing upon. How her mentor managed to move with such subtlety was chilling, a truer predator than she had ever encountered before. His form was only barely visible as she just managed to catch a glimpse of him standing in the shadow of the trees, much of the wood still shaded as the sun was just barely cresting the horizon. "You're slacking pup, had I wished it I could have strode up to but a few inches behind you and it would have gone unnoticed. Disappointing."

The grimace upon hearing these words was masked by a toothy grin as Eis' gauntlets formed over her fists. "Heh, just trying to play the helpless prey card right sir. Had to lure you out somehow before I fell asleep." Even though she could not see his face, the aspiring huntress could still feel his indifferent gaze upon her, easily piercing any façade she tried to put up. Always observing. Always judging.

"Hmm, perhaps you play the part too well." Within an instant Schatten seemed to fade away in the shadows, immediately followed by the sound of rattling chains approaching from behind her once more. Again she rolled out of the way, dew quickly saturating her clothes, intensifying the chill she had already felt. Before she could recover however she was struck, a bright flash of azure lighting up the still slumbering woods. Rolling up into a defensive position once again, Eis could feel her body tense as it anticipated another flurry of attacks. Normally she would be quicker than this, but her usual high energy and spirit was subdues by the taxing journey.

"Did you really think I wouldn't shift my attacks based off your previous evasion? Your aura is far to weak for you to be so unimaginative. The battlefield is far less forgiving than I am." Once more his monotone voice carried from the shadows, though now she couldn't identify where from.

"Ah, just limbering up is all. Trying to lure you into a false sense of security before I strike." A cheery laugh left her lips as her eyes desperately scanned the woods. Her superior vision should have allowed her to easily identify her mentor, yet no such luck was had. Taking a deep breath, she attempted to calm her nerves and tune in to her surroundings, just barely managing to hear someone sprinting through the grass. Twisting about, Eis finally managed to get a proper counter her hunter, grabbing his left arm that had been hurtling towards her back. Using his own momentum the petite girl managed to flip the man over herself, slamming into the ground, a spark of black aura flashing for just a moment.

"Ha, I got ya! Take that old tim-EH!" Her victory was short lived sadly as she felt her legs kicked out from underneath her before being pinned to the ground, the heavy armored knee of Schatten putting an uncomfortable amount of pressure on her ribs. A sinking feeling in her stomach formed as Eis' breathing picked up pace.

"O-okay. Lesson learned, I'm a poor warrior. Get off now please." Gazing up to Schatten's seemingly hollow grey eyes, a shiver once more ran through her spine. He didn't move, but rather applied further force, inducing further panic.

"Stop, this hurts. Please, please get off!" Her distressed pleas earned nothing more than a disdainful scoff as the hooded man simply shook his head.

"Is that truly the best you have to offer? Begging? Tch, how well did that work for you last time pup?" A hint of venom seemed to seep into her mentors typically apathetic tone. Her eye began to water as she struggled to break free, trying to push his knee off. Wounds that had far too little time to heal were being picked at.

"Stop!" Her pleading voice rang out once more, but this time with more of an edge. Schatten gave a grim smirk.

"I wonder how disappointed she would be, to see you still do nothing to s-"

"I SAID STOP!" A surge of strength ran through Eis, allowing her to push off an away from the pin, before rushing forward with claws bared. Seemingly caught of guard, Eis landed a solid hit on Schatten, his aura flashing once more. This was followed up by a backhand to the face, raking claws across the stomach. Blows that would have led to severe wounds had Schatten been a weaker opponent. No longer was this some for of test, the fox was seeking blood. An unrelenting flurry of blows commenced as Eis remained deaf to whatever her mentor was now trying to say to her. All she saw was red. All she heard were the cruel words he had spoken. He would hurt for that. It wasn't clear to her how long this continued, but it only ended when Schatten finally managed to break her aura before delivering a right hook that turned everything black.

Eis awoke with a start, shooting up from her sleeping bag as she frantically looked around the woods. It was dark out, no longer a breaking dawn but full night. Only the brilliant light from the campfire illuminated the pitch black of the forest, and her mentor, nursing what looked to be a rather savage looking laceration.

The color drained from her face as it became clear what happened. "Oh Essence... I-I'm so sorry. I didn't mean to... I just lost control." Her apologies were casually waved away as Schatten looked up from his wound. While not really a friendly face, it was far less imposing then before.

"No need to apologize Ms. Sturm, it was my intention to push you on this trip. Physically, mentally, emotionally. I needed to see what I was dealing with, and now I do." Eis simply sat in silence as he spoke, tension growing in her chest.

"So everything you did, everything you said was just a game to make me crack? That is cruel!" She barked at him, her blood rising once more.

"Yet necessary. Emotions are a dangerous thing Ms. Sturm. They can lead to costly mistakes in the field. Your semblance amplifies this danger greatly. I needed to understand how in control you are of it. I certainly can see your potential, but your discipline lacks severely. You of all people need to learn the importance of control. Otherwise you will be naught more than a bright flame that snuffs itself out to quickly, burning those around you. I can't guarantee I can teach you these skills, but I can try to set you on the right path. That's all I can offer."

Silence hung in the air for a time as Eis digested these words. It was a painful lesson, in more ways than one. Her jaw would be aching for a week after that strike. But it would not set her off her path. "Psh, is that all it'll take. Piece of pastry sir." Levity once more returned to the faunus as she offered a thumbs up.

Running his hands over his face, Schatten couldn't help but chuckle just a tiny bit to himself. "Very well then."

There we are, sorry for the delay on that! Enjoy : p
