RWBY: The Years Before: Shadow of Grim

Curve shrugged. He'd come with Ivory, so he might as well accompany her for the whatever it was. He could tell she was dodging a question, so he didn't press the matter. Eventually, the van lurched to a stop, and Curve's tattoos glowed dimly. He exhaled heavily, then opened the door, stepping out. His boots made their usual claBMp noise as he stepped onto the asphalt. Curve straightened his tie and held his hand out to help Ivory climb out of the car. Out of the corner of his eye he saw a shadow, and his head jerked in its direction. He didn''t see anything, but unlike other people, he wasn't one to just ignore his senses. If he 'saw' something, it was more than likely there. "Are we supposed to be being watched?" Curve asked, his jawline going rigid.

Azure Snow

The little faunus got on her feet when the group left with Hannes. She dusted herself off. First her chest, then her thighs, and then her bum, lifting that puffy white tail out of the way to get a proper dusting. The arena was empty now, and judging by the lght outside, it was going to be dark soon. She figured she'd hurry off back to the dorm before the others worry. As soon as she finished cleaning herself off she took a step infront of her but stopped when another body blocked her path. She jumped back and looked up at the owner.

He was tall, thin, with wintery grey eyes. A little intimidating. Azure backed up some, giving herself a comfortable distance. "Hello," his voice was deceiving. Or perhaps it was his looks that played a trick. His voice was gentle, much different than what she expected. Thankfully, it relaxed her some, but not entirely. He contined,"Im Grau Kohlrabenschwarz." Boy what a name. Azure, who had trouble with speech due to a very isolated and anti-social childhood, tried to pronounce his last name,"Ko--K--ko...raven...she...was?" She shook her head at her own attempt at the pronounciation and looked away with embarassment,'Incorrect, you'll offend him,' her thoughts panicked. Luckily Grau pressed on anyway,"And you are?" he gave a small bow out of politeness. Azure could tell he mustve come from a very well mannered and maybe even prestegious family. She couldnt tell for sure, but he showed a lot more mannerisms than Hannes whom she just previously met before Grau. Azure made a small and sharp gasp before bowing back to him, with a little hesitation. She wasnt used to such formalities. "Azure," she said plainly. It just sort of came out with out another thought. She was slightly thankful her name came out instinctively like that, over thinking about her shyness is usually what made her stutter.

What now? Now that names were exchanged, she didnt know what else to say to keep a conversation going. By now, the old Azure wouldve awkwardly walked away. But the new Azure is trying to step out of comfort zone and speak normally with people shes never met before. The itch was still there though. The shy fox in her wanted to tuck its tail between its legs and leave, but she held on. Conversing is a skill everyone must have, huntress or not. 'What do adolescents our age typically converse about?' she asked herself. Her heterochromic eyes observed him, thinking of anything she could bring up. The aura surrounding his body seemed interesting. Even though people dont see aura unless its being activated, Azure sees it at all times. The fluffy ears at the top of her head swiveled toward him, and stood perked. She tilted her head to the side like a confused puppy,"Your...aura is..em.." she raised a hand and rotated her wrist while trying to think of the word she was looking for,"how is it you say....pekooliar? Peculiar!" she corrected herself. The faunus cleared her throat nervously, still trying to avoid his eyes at all costs.

Auras are a thing Azure could talk about for hours. She was an extremely shy girl, but when you strike the right match, she could go on and on, even if her speech isnt all that great. She was extremely sensitive to all aura and energy, and since her semblance has to deal with those things, she was a walking encyclopedia when it came to the topic of aura. Having an aura lecture was her favorite thing about her classes here at Beacon.

KURO MAYONAKA

Kuro took out his scroll as the alert tone sounded when Ozpin sent him the the footage from the forest. He'd have to look this over later with his team. Ozpin warned him to stay safe, and he merely nodded in response to acknowledge that he heard and understood him. His suggestion to see Curve wasn't something he'd want to do. Curve may have the same suspicions about the Grimm, but he seemed like a rather stone cold character who didn't have a soft spot to speak of, save where Sward was concerned. Maybe he could talk with Sward later, see if he could get through to Curve. A plan started to form in his head. A dangerous plan that may end up getting him either in trouble or worse, but a plan nonetheless. He walked towards the elevators and entered the one he rode up and took it right back down.

As the door opened, he immediately notcied a piece of paper on the ground and retrieved it, looking at the writing. Sward had asked him to meet with him. Well, what a coincidence. He pulled out his scroll again and sent the same message to everyone in his team: Need to run an errand. Be back later. Don't wait up. After the messagesa were sent, he sent a new one to Sward: That's quite the coincidence, I needed to talk to you as well. Where do you want to meet and when? Once all of the messages were sent, Kuro just started strolling around the campus to kill time.

Grau Kohlrabenschwarz

Grau noticed that she took a step back upon seeing him, and he frowned slightly, hoping he hadn't startled her. He let a gentle smile spread across his face in reaction to her attempt to pronounce his family name. However, he perked one of his black eyebrows, intrigued as he realized she didn't recognize his name. His parents had acted like everyone alive would know the name Kohlrabenschwarz, but it'd seem they were wrong, something which made him feel a little more relaxed, easing his dread about his family's reputation pushing possible friendships out of his grasp. "Kohl...ra...ben...schwarz," he said gently, sounding the name out syllable by syllable, hoping that it would make it easier for the Fox Faunus to pronounce. "There is no need to feel embarrassed, sometimes not even I can pronounce it," he said with a smile, hoping his light-mannered joke would help to ease the tensions. Oh Grimm, why am I so bad at this? he thought to himself with despair. He stifled a chuckle at her awkward bow, knowing it was impolite, and perhaps a little insulting. She clearly hadn't been drilled by her parents to preform all the proper mannerisms expected of someone of an "important" family. For that he almost envied her. "A pleasure to meet you Azure," he said politely, reaching out with his hand to shake hers.... if she'd accept the gesture, of course.

In truth, he didn't particularly think that she would. She looked and acted like someone even more shy than he, and looked so small, that if she curled herself up, she'd disappear completely. She was an entire foot and a half shorter than he was, so he did have to look down to make eye contact. And once he did, he felt almost entranced for a moment. Her eyes were differently colored, one a calm, mellow sort of silver, and the other a bright blue. For a moment, he simply stared, before shaking his head and turning his gaze away in a rather poor attempt to hide the red tinge on his cheeks. Unbelievable. Flustered with the very first person I talk to, a Kohlrabenschwarz shouldn't act like this! he scolded himself, feeling only more awkward. She had large, fluffy white ears that suddenly seemed to swivel towards him, before she asked about his aura. He raised a thin eyebrow for a moment, perplexed. "My aura?" he asked, curiously. "What about it? Does your semblance allow you to see auras?" he asked, suddenly interested. "That's fascinating!" he declared, a lips spreading into a smile. He ignored her awkward throat clearing, hoping that it wasn't him making her feel so uncomfortable. "If you can see my aura... what do you see? Is it my semblance you see? Or a glow?" he inquired, throwing out a few suggestions. @HoneyBear\-Kat

Obsidian glanced up at the one who approached him. Slight bewilderment took residence in eyes that stayed true to his raven hair, and by extension his namesake. "Well.. my medical knowledge is pretty basic." He said, rubbing the back of his neck. Judging by the faunus' appearance, he could assume that such attention was required for another. "If it's something that goes beyond CPR, or basic stitching, I can help you find the infirmary." He said.

Obsidian stood, and shut the book on Grimm. He tucked it under his arm, and extended his other hand to the stranger. "I'm Obsidian. Or just Sid." He said.

@Entarriance

Again. What's the whole hand thing that people do? That's apparently like a formal greeting... right?

Staring at his outstretched hand for a few seconds, he seemed earnestly confused on what he was doing, despite it just being an uncomplicated greeting. Nonetheless, he remembered what Silas had done earlier, and apparently holding hands was not the right thing to do. Was it? He's a guy, so that would make things much more awkward than they're supposed to be. All he needed was some sort of medical attention for the bleeding kid. How come his aura's not helping him out here? Shouldn't it still be active even though he's knocked out? Ineptly looking between Obsidian, and the red lion faunus kind of, just, standing around right now (
@Chayliel), he finally just decided to go for it. Grabbing his hand, he shook it, like a normal human being even though it took like an awkward half minute-gap.

Now was part two of whatever he was supposed to do. He said his name?! His name?! That means he's supposed to say his name too. Well, that's what it's supposed to mean, right? It would be odd if he introduced himself, but didn't return the introduction. There has to be some textbook on this that he can take notes on, or he might as well just type up a guide for himself later.

After another, like, 10 seconds, he finally gave his name.

"... Grovyn. Pleasure to be an acquaintance."

In total, the entire introduction should have taken around 15 seconds. But being Grovyn, it took, about, 45 seconds? And in terms of introducing yourself with a handshake, that was an awfully long time to grab someone's hand and shake it. He cocked his head back in the same direction a few times, as if gesturing towards the boy that Asher was holding. Well, from the angle they stood in, the only thing that seemed wrong was his arm, which was scraped up and a bit bloody.

"He has a cleft around the left side of his head. "

Blunt as always, Grovyn.

@Senshin

Tate was listening to the conversation that Grovyn and Obsidian were having.Tate heard Grovyn say his name and thought to herself,"That wasn't a sneeze. He was trying to introduce himself".Tate then noticed it was getting akward so she stepped in,"Well if you can't do anything at the moment.Lets go to the infirmary.Times wasting and I don't want to be responsable for two if not three dead bodies" Tate said. She was half serious when she said it.Going over to the boys Tate looked around. There was nothing she could carry the guys with so they had to improvise,"Boomer.I'll help you walk while Asher carries Hannes.Asher if you can't carry Hannes, but can walk than Sid and Grovyn can help. But in the event you can't walk at all Grovyn or Sid will help you while the other carries Hannes.Alright lets move out" Tate said taking charge and going to Boomer who was asleep. So Tate just hung him over her shoulder.

@Entarriance @Emperor Of Embers @Senshin

Obsidian found some amusement in Grovyn's struggle with what should have been a social norm, but was both polite and patient in the exchange. Following Grovyn's gesture with a glance, and spotting the blood he could see, Sid walked past in earnest.

He didn't say a word as he approached the two, his intent solely on the one bleeding. When Tate intervened, Sid spoke up. "I can stop the bleeding to his head. But i agree. We should take him to infirmary right away."

This was perhaps, the least conventional use of his semblance - yet one that he employed frequently to staunch wounds of his own after a battle. He'd extend his right arm, leaving his hand to hover beside the boys head, upon him being supported on Tate's shoulder. Thin threads shot from his fingertips, and would travel through the separated flesh. They wound together in a neat row across the wound. With a delicate fold in his fingers, these cords would pull the flesh together. A flourish of his hand, and the excess energy bound to his extremities diminished.

In the event his stitching had been successful, Obsidian would simply support Tate in the further measures she might take. At the very least, the stabilization of the boy would be minimized.

Azure Snow

Grau took the time to slowly pronounce his name after seeing her struggle. Making her feel a little more nervous now that he noticed. But she gave a small, bashful smile with her head low, silently thanking him for that. But for now she'd try to avoid saying his name for a while. When he joked about his struggle to say his own name, Azure smiled nervously. She pulled a lock of her long hair infront of her and fidgeted with it some. Grau stuck out a hand in front of him, catching her comepletely by surprise, she jerked her head back but regained her composure. The fox stared at his hand for a moment. Big doe eyes blinking curiously. Her hypersensitive nose twitching at his scent. Azure raised her own hand, and reached out to grab his. Her grasp was gentle, light as a feather, but somewhat firm. Not in a manly, burly way. But for having such soft, delicate fingers, her grip was tight. Perhaps so that she can hang onto the things she loves the most. Her hands were small compared to his. When she shook her whole hands basically wrapped around one or two of his fingers.

"Likewise," she said with a volume as loud as she was tall. Grau seemed intrigued now that Azure mentioned his own aura. He asked a few questions, and a small smile spread across her other wise concerned or frightened face. People generally didnt like talking about those things. In her past experiences she felt like she came off as a bore. She gave a curt nod,"My semblance allows me to see the auras of others," her words were a little choppy. She used a lot of hand gestures when she spoke, just in case others couldnt understand her words. When she mentioned "the auras of others" her hand moved between Grau and herself. She continued,"I can not see your semblance,"she pointed to him," but, your aura. Yes." she nodded again. "When i look at you," she gestured toward him again,"I see a hue of color, surrounding you," her hands outlined the figure of his body to represent the hue. "Yours is different because, it is almost black, or grey. That is usually what i see in Grimm. Grimm do not have auras, I see and feel their negative energy." She explained. "But...," she paused searching for words,"Having a dark aura, is not bad." she shook her head,"everyone's aura is different," hesitantly she gently grabbed the hand he used to shake hers. She turned it so that the palm was facing upward toward them. One hand was under his, laying there to support him. With the other hand, her slender index finger traced his hand from the palm, then stopped at the tip of his own index finger,"Like fingerprints, no aura is seemee--sim-similar. Even if two people share the same color, each aura has its own feel or pressure, its own fingerprint," she let go of his hand and pointed to her nose,"just like everyone has their own distinctive scent. Except...i feel the aura. The strength, the endurance, the type, it is almost like, auras...have their own personality," she touched her heart. She looked up at him and smiled, wondering if what she was saying (or atleast trying to) made any sense,"Even if i were blind folded, i could tell who and where you are, just by the feel of your aura," she said,"Which helps me keep track of opponents," she giggled. After she collected herself, Azure rubbed her arm and looked off to the side,"Auras really are complicated things. But, they are very important, and hunters or huntresses should really try hard to know everything there is to know about them." She didnt want to go too deep into the subject, afraid she already bore her new potential friend, but she did end with one last thing. "They protect this," the faunus raised a hand once again and placed her palm over his heart,"Which is why we need to take care of them and learn how to use them. They can do...a lot for a hunter. Its important to learn when to use your aura in battle." She gave another nod, ending the topic there she retracted her hand,"Semblances and auras work together" she said.

Just as she finished, her scroll beeped and made a short, staccato like vibration. Fox ears bounced at the sound while she searched through her pockets. Her hands ran all along her body, even over the holsters of her pistols. Then she checked her back pockets, where the scroll sat. Azure opened it and quietly read a message Kuro, her leader had sent her. He was stepping out for an errand and told them not to wait for him. She frowned. Was he really doing something? Or was he just still upset?

Boomer's eyes slightly open, but closed back up since his sleep was deep. He was having a dream where he was playing with his Faunus parents, until a pack of Grimm and their human trainers attacked them. Boomer ran away, not knowing what else to do, while his parents fought off the group. They did not live, however, this was a twisted version of what really happened to them. He started to mumble things in his sleep as his hands flickered red as small puffs of powder leave his flesh, and touch the ground.

Seeing Obsidian stretch his hand out, Grovyn was confused. What was he doing, is his aura healing, or related to healing? Looking at the space in between Hannes and Obsidian, he noticed a faint glimmer of something, as well as another faint glimmer. Widening his eyes, it finally came to him.

It's threads. They're so thin... though...

Thread that thin could be just like piano wire, which would serve well as a weapon during battle. However, connected at the source, it could be just as harmful. More of helpful than harmful to him, though. Everyone seemed to have, well, powerful abilities. At least it seemed to be something that would have well surpassed his own. Painfully smiling towards himself, a single, self-deprecating "ha" would come from him. Looking towards Boomer, who seemed to be well asleep, watching a single puff... of... dust?... fall towards the ground. This, seemed to be an odd but calm way to end of the day. At least no conflict was happening. Well...

~~

A few seconds after his head was stitched back, Hannes' eyes immediately flew open, a long yawn coming from him.

"Bwaaah.... that was a good nap! A-okay! Ready to go! A'iighhttt"

Rolling out of Asher's clasp, that seemed to fail considerable, landing on the ground with a thud. He still seemed to be kind of out of it, but it honestly wasn't much different than how he normally acted. He was, well, hyperactive from the start, which was both a good and a bad thing. Immediately jumping up onto his feet, he looked left and right, seeing how everyone seemed to change positions from when he was last, conscious, and the appearance of a new face. But, huh, where did the fox go?

Bringing his arm around his head, he stretched a little bit, looking from person to person. Everyone either had a blank ot serious expression on their face. Or weren't awake. After what happened, it wasn't surprising. But who were the two new faces?

Green haired girl, haven't heard a word from her yet. But she seems serious, and being able to carry a massive dude like him, it's safe to say she's strong too. What about the black-haired guy? He has this weird mixture of expressions between confused and knowing-what-he's-doing-right-now. Oh, and the snowflake that I met when I walked into the school? He looks just as confused, maybe a little sad? And huh, never took note of his eyes before. Weird.

But thinking this all to himself, he wasn't as hyper as he usually was, probably due to the influence of the injury and not wanting to strain himself to a level where it would hurt him again. Instead, he decided to analyze all of that later. Seeming to, "teleport", where Grovyn was, he grabbed his shoulders, before yanking him over to where Obsidian is, throwing his arm around his shoulder too.

"Alright, alright, we're all friends here. Well not yet, but soon enough! Nice to meet you, I'm Hannes. Not hands, but Hannes, but I'm pretty good with my hands too. And yyooouuu are? And snowflake?"

"Please, don't bleed on my shoulder."

@Senshin @Chayliel @WoodenZebra

"I'm Tate.Nice to meet you" Tate said.Right after she heard Grovyn say,"Don't bleed on my shoulder" Recieving a little gigle from her as they walked to the infermary.Boomer was reapetivly dropping purple stuff on the floor. That was weird, but Tate made a joke out of it to herself about not worrying about getting lost because they can follow the powder stuff back.Tate was super fast about getting to the infermary. On the way she saw the Team rosters.Looked like it was her,Boomer,Grovyn, and Hannes,"You wait until you wake up" Tate said to the unconsious Boomer.

@Emperor Of Embers @Entarriance @Senshin

Obsidian blinked at Hanne's demonstration of speed - his composure returning only after the other's arm had been flung around him. What had been an uneventful period was quickly becoming quite the opposite.

"Nice meeting you, Hanne's. And Tate." Obsidian said, with a nod and friendly smile to each of them. Upon accompanying the group to the infirmary, he chuckled at Tate's comment. "Sounds like someone's in trouble." He jested. Occasionally, he'd steal a glance at the now shimmering wound that Hanne's sported. While he had faith in the strength of his aura, it was a wonder the threads remained intact with one who exhibited so much energy.

with Boomer being set on a bed, he stirs to consciousness. He then saw Tate, and smiled. "Nice to see another pretty face around here. And I did say I was taking a nap, didn't I?" he asked her in a friendly manner. He then looked over to the roster for teams, but could not quite tell who was with who, since his sight is a little blurry. He yawns again, trying not to fall asleep again.

Grau Kohlrabenschwarz

Grau watched her act nervously, as she fidgeted with her bright, multi-colored hair and nervously smiled. "I'm...uh.... Sorry if I am making you nervous," he murmured, a slight frown crossing his face. He stepped back a little, startled as she practically jumped out of her skin when he held out his hand for a handshake. He was about to comment upon it, or pull back his hand, when she took his hand, gently shaking it, with a firmer grip than he had expected, although it was still gentle. Her hands were simply dwarves by his, her entire hand wrapping around two of his fingers. He simply watched her, amused for a few moments.

He noticed, that as soon as he mentioned aura, she brightened up, a smile appearing on her face, and he immediately knew that she was interested in this topic. As she began to speak, he listened intently, watching her hand gestures as she spoke moving them around. She began to explain what he had suspected, that it was her semblance that allowed her to see peoples' auras. She explained that his aura was black and grey, something that did not surprise him at all, but when she mentioned that it was just like what a Grimm's "aura" looked like, he raised an eyebrow.
"Oh? My aura looks like a Grimm's?" He asked curiously, although he could not hide his concern. The fact that the aura of a Kohlrabenschwarz looked like that of a Grimm was ironic at the very least, and frightening at worst.

She suddenly grabbed his hand, pulling him out of his thoughts, turning it upwards. He raised a confused eyebrow as she traced a finger along his, making a comparison to finger prints, something that, in a way, made a lot of sense.
"Do pardon me if this is a dumb question, but are you able to see your own aura? If so, what does it look like?" He asked, leaning a little closer, wondering if he'd be able to see anything, or if she could make her own aura visible. "Also, what does the "fingerprint" of my aura feel like to you?" He asked, curious. He smiled brightly, surprised that someone had such an interesting semblance. "Your semblance must make you impossible to surprise," he said with a chuckle, before frowning slightly. "You're lucky to have such an interesting semblance you know. All we Kohlrabenschwarz have the same semblance," he explained, pulling his hands apart, a writhing, swirling mass of black shadow appearing between his palms. Suddenly, as quickly as it appeared, it was gone, replaced by a simple, average looking Raven, perched on the fist of his right hand. The bird looked entirely ordinary... Except for its eyes, which looked eerily like Grau's. The creature was silent, hopping onto Azure's shoulder. "That's all my semblance is," he admitted with a frown.

"And that adds another thing. Your aura and semblance may work well together, but without a skilled Hunter to use them, they are not worth much," he said, making a gesture between him and her. "A true Hunter must get to know themselves and their own strengths and weaknesses, as well as learning about their aura and semblance," He said with a smile.

He watched her search for her scroll, a bit confused as he saw her begin to frown at something she saw on the scroll.
"Everything alright?"

"So, Tater Tots and Sid, got it. Snowflake don't be a debby-downer here!"

Despite how he was still kind of out of it, slightly dragging his feet as the group was in the infirmary (though his arms were still slung around the shoulders of Obsidian and Grovyn until they reached the room), though he appeared to be conscious and attempting to walk, at least. His aura seemed to be, well, working again at least, feeling a very slow, gradual, well, energy zooming around his body. Over time, it was bound to heal him to some extend, but as of now, he appeared to be on the verge of passing out again. That seemed to be his typical sleep cycle, anyway. Asleep for short periods of time, before jolting awake to do, anything.

"Grovyn."

...

His face went pale for a second, as if he saw a ghost. Swallowing the air briefly, he just laughed it off. Nah, the name must've been slightly different. It was a, familiar name, though it sure was definitely not what he thought it was. After all, why this school? At most, his brother might as well be dead, but of course he needed confirmation on that.

"....
Grovyn, huh... Nice t'meet all of you! Now, uh, let's make some small talk! Why'd you guys come to Beacon? Nono, don't be all like 'to make my skills better!'. Everyone has a reason to come here that isn't just, training."

It was definitely a personal question to start straight off with, though he was an open person to begin with. He wasn't ashamed of hiding anything about himself, other than his whole childhood and backstory, since remembering that wouldn't do any good for him. Just saying it would make him sound like he's trying to guilt trip someone, and he doesn't want people to pity him. Rather that opposite. Hearing about other people instead of talking about himself was what interested him most, in terms of personally and not just for analyzation in battle. Sure, he was kind of sketchy, but he wasn't all that sketchy. Kind of.

Trying to keep up with Hannes' rapid style of speech and action, he heard what he assumed to be his temporary nickname. Snowflake. Ironically, at least in terms of his weapon and his semblance, it was well the opposite. Though, he isn't going to deny that he does have the rather, light appearance of it. Rolling his eyes, he averted his gaze, going back to his typical apathetic expression and personality.

"Grovyn."

What could he be doing now that would benefit him? Instead of walking to the infirmary with these people, he could be studying more right now. But he isn't, and he could have been training with himself again, like he always did. But he wasn't. And something about that bothered him. Pushing out all outside noises, he was lost in his thoughts again, a wide variety of scenarios rooting from the butterfly effect coming from his head, from the well possible to the complete bizarre impossible. Briefly catching the silence from Hannes, which was unusual, he snapped out of his daze to be greeted by a pale complexion, before his typical eccentric but overjoyed speech. Something bothered him about that, but he might as well ignore it for now.

Missing the question completely as he was contemplating all the things that he could have been doing right now, he crossed his arms over his chest and raised an arm near his cheek, scratching it. It seemed to be a nervous habit of his, especially with nothing to do in a room full of people he's not well acquainted with, nor can make himself well acquainted with. It was already weird enough he agreed to come along, that is.

"Well.... I came here because I got an invitation to attend this school, so why would I pass it up?" Boomer said as as he got comfortable on the bed, but not ready to fall asleep. His vision became clear, and saw the roster for his team. "Well.... I guess we are all a team. How about we just chill here and talk about each other?" he suggested, since he wanted to know his team better. @Entarriance @WoodenZebra @Senshin

"Well not Sid.He seems to be teamless for now until someone else starts going to Beacon" Tate said starting to answer Hannes question,"It's kinda personal. You know what I mean, but if you earn my trust than I'll tell.Until then...." Tate thought she was going to finish that sentence, but apparently didn't."So.Who do you think should lead the team. After all just because one name starts the team name that person doesn't have to be the leader.Or do you guys want to be a demacracy? No leaders.Just us giving the plan when we have to.It's gonna be one of these things.Team vote?" Tate said.

"I do not care.... All I know is that I am not leader material..... It just would not work." Boomer said as he stretched out his arms, since they felt sore. After stretching his arms, he moved to His legs, which were worse than before.

Sward rested on a bench in the school courtyard when he decided to look at his scroll and noticed a new message sent by Kuro. He then sent him back a reply. It said this. I will be in the school courtyard tomorrow morning Meet me here when you can. Sward then put his scroll away and walked to the his dorm room preparing for a nice long nap.

Looking over as Tate as she spoke, she never exactly, finished that statement either. Boomer came here just because he couldn't turn the offer down, but wasn't there a talk earlier on how he was homeless? Maybe Beacom granted him another opportunity. After all, it is Beacon, who would turn it down?

"... so, you're saying I need to Level Up to unlock a tragic backstory? Sweet! We're on a team anyway, Tater Tots, it's bound to happen someday!"

Coming to the conclusion that it'd probably be a long and rough adventure before she'd say anything, particularly because being the person he is, he wouldn't really expect people to trust him. In fact, he doesn't trust himself too much either, but whatever helps get through the daily grind. Hearing Tate ask about a leader, he shrugged his shoulders. Shoving his hands into his pocket, his signature mischievous grin came over his face, his eyes squinted.

"I'mma pull a Creon with this one. Not really into this whole leadership thingy. I'm more of a 'no responsibilities but same amount of respect' typpa person. But I'm not into the huge no-leadership thing. Sure, it'd be good if we kinda yell out plans, but if you think about it, it wouldn't work. Humans are humans, and we need to have a plan that would work out. Because everyone has a different plan in mind to deal with a situation, so if everyone's just shouting out their plans, it'd end with quite a clusterfuck. Besides, isn't the leader already in the roster? What's our team called? It should be the first letter of someone's name 'er something. If not, our fifth party here can make the choice, which'll probably be unbiased. Kinda."

Briefly bringing his gaze towards Sid, who was the one awkward dude not in the team, he brought his attention back between the thr- four of them. He didn't exactly check the roster, but considering how he hasn't seen this, group of people with any sort of team, he might as well believe them for now. What can you do about it? Looking around the infirmary, he noticed Grovyn kind of just, sank in the corner, a textbook on his lap as his legs were bent, knees pointed towards the ceiling. He seemed to be writing something down. Notes? When in hell was their homework of any kind?! Let's just assume that he didn't have to do anything. Walking over to where he is, he bent down. Bringing his hand in front of his face, he snapped multiple times, as if trying to get Grovyn out of his whole study-mode.

"Oi, Groves, buddy, chum, pal, friend, bud, fella, bruther, amigo, chummy chum, friend, home slice bread slice. Helllloo. Don't be such a plant now, c'mooonn. Why did you come t'Beacon and do you want a democracy?"

Sure, this was confusing to hear out of context, and considering how he was in the corner quietly studying, he probably was getting this out of context. But hey, he can probably assume the best, right?

Everyone seemed to be getting into a conversation about, well, something. He wasn't really someone to get into group conversations unless it was about combat. Gradually sinking to the floor during conversation, luckily no one seemed to notice. Grovyn's Stoic philosophy got the best of him as he finally settled on the ground, opening up his bag quietly. He brought out his textbook and a pencil, which he freely wrote all over the textbook despite the fact he shouldn't. Turning open to a sticky note marked about midway through the book, he tried to catch up on his studies, which have reached a level of ramification that the only way he was able to gain any more intel on it was to study it in the language that it was originally in (whatever was considered Latin in Remnant, I suppose).

Pulling his legs closer to himself, multitasking was his specialty. Well, not in what you think multitasking is, he's just well able to do his study work and learn from it, as well as have his own little independent thoughts, which was what he did a lot considering how he doesn't put it as his priority to speak to people. So if he can't socialize, why not practice starting with himself?

Let's see, this number goes here... huh. I wonder what the values of everyone on this team are? From what I can tell, Hannes seems to have a rather, epicurean philsophy himself. Boomer is probably the type of person with a well intimidating stature, as well as personality. However, maybe his personality could be just as gentle as well. Like you would see in stereotypes. Tate... was that her name? Tate Clover seems to be a rather enigmatic, but concentered female.

Midway through the page, he saw a hand stretched out right in front of him. At first, he didn't seem to process it, and continue what he was doing. But after a while of snapping and what appeared to be someone talking to him, he finally came back to Earth.

"...Why did you come t'Beacon and do you want a democracy?"

Blinking a few times, he didn't raise his gaze. He just kept looking down at his textbook and writing, though he did answer the question. He was directly asked, so why just ignore it? Sure, it wasn't his objective to seek a conversation, but it wasn't really his objective to avoid one either. After all, he has a stoic philosophy. Why waste time and energy with emotion and socialization when you could be accomplishing something else by yourself right now?

"... my dad matriculated me into Beacon. It isn't my intention to disconcert or dishearten him, so I acquiesced. Shouldn't the team leader be transcribed as the first letter in the team patronymic?"

Boomer looked at Hannes, and raised an eyebrow. "What do you mean, Level Up? This isn't a game, Hannes." he said as he finished stretching his legs, and got out of the bed. The sleeve that covered his Tattoo was torn, and the tattoo can be seen. "Look. From what I can see, I think Grovyn should take lead. He is smart, and he obviously has the Leadership vibes coming from him." He said as he looked at grovyn, and Hannes. He noticed that their eyes had the same colors, but were mirrored. "Huh. Very funny......" he said as he put the pieces together, and realized they were related, but did not know in what way.

Ivory allowed Curve to help her out of the car. "No, no we're not." She said before serrated daggers slid out of her sleeves and into her waiting hands. "Who's there!?" She called out as she signaled Esteban to start dialing. "Show yourself or else you're gonna have a bad time." She warned.

After a brief pause, and a trash can toppling over, a loud bark was heard, and a dog scampered across the path of the two. Curve relaxed, cracking his neck. "Let's just get this over with. Find the person you need to talk to. Fast." Curve didn't like looking like a fool, and although this wasn't necissarily that, he was right, he got himself all worked up over nothing. He let his closed fists rest at his side. "You lead, burning moonlight."
