RWBY: The Years Before: Shadow of Grim

Tate had been around school all day.She had been busy with her classes to even check on Boomer,but she had the time now,and since everyone else had been somewhere other than the dorm Tate knew it was just going to be her and Boomer. Tate walked into the dorm,"Hey.Good to see your not dead. " Tate said with a little giggle after. Tate was trying hard to be "Normal" around Boomer because she had a secret. Tate was in love with Boomer,but she didn't want to say anything about it.Plus she could only discuss it with herself because she didn't know any girl outside her team and knew better than to talk to a guy about her girl problems.

"Yep. I am glad I am not dead either. Just be careful when going into the bathroom. Whatever I ate really destroyed me." He said in a joking manner, along with a wince of pain as he gripped his abdomen. "Could you hand me that cup right there?" He asked her, pointing to a cup of Pineapple juice with lemon-lime soda, and orange juice in it.

"Gross.Remind me to use another bathroom when I have to go" Tate said handing Boomer the beverage he wanted,"So. What's it like to not have to go to class until your not sick.Or should I say what is it like not being able to train because your too busy grabing your stomach and drinking liquids" Tate said teasing

"Both very crappy. I would much rather be in class than have to suffer from food poisoning." Boomer said as he took a sip of his juice cocktail, and set it next to him. "You look really nice today." He said with a smile.

"Well. You do too. Other than looking sick you look pretty good" Tate said trying to say something nice to Boomer,but uterly failing.She was never really good at flirting."I'm feeling really hot under my mask" Tate said grabbing it,but hesitating,"Promise not to tell anyone.I don't you running around the school talking about my face." Tate said taking it off revealing the "True beauty" of which is her face. Tate always wore her mask around people,but she was with a person,so she thought it was okay to show Boomer.After all she wanted to see his reaction of seeing her face for the first time.

"You know.. I actually like your face better than that mask. Why dd you hide your face from others?" He asked her with a warm smile.

Sward was stirring. He still feelt woozy but well enough to stand on his own. He was in his old clothes and noticed the girl who helped him earlier. He gave a nice smile to her. After all if it wasn't for her help he would be in here longer or maybe worse. "I'm sorry I don't think I got your name." He then noticed Curve handing him his helmet and noded his head in thanks too Curve. Sward looked at it and was swarmed with the memories of old and of recent. He put it to the side. He knew that he never truly needed to hide his face but his helmet was still a very important thing to him. It reminded him of his parents and that was reasonable enough to hold onto it. As he got up he was surprised at first to notice how much muscular and thinner he gotten since the attack on Beacon. He seemed to be even standing straighter too. He went into the restroom real quick and got changed into his after school clothes (Which is a composite of a white undershirt, Emerald green hoodie, black pants with a white line down the sides and white tennis shoes with 2 black strands on both sides. He also had a dark green watch and finally added the helmet.) "After you old friend... (looks at Sonnora) New friend."

As Sward walked with Curve he saw OJ and Locke and asked if they wanted to come but neither of them seem interested. What a shame Sward though to himself. Maybe next time.

Curve simply grunted at Sonora and remaied silent. Sward seemed up for it, and remarkably functional. Curve narrowed his eyes at the boy, if anything, he seemed better than ever. Curve shook his head, Sward was usually the one who was optimistic when he got hurt. Curve was more logical, and rested until he was fully healed. Thankfully, that didn't happen often. Whatever, if Sward always had Curve's back, he'd have to have Sward's.

Walking to the dorm rooms, Curve pounded his fist on his own for OJ and Locke. "We're going out. You guys coming?" OJ shook his head and glanced at Locke, who did the same. Curve shut the door unceromoniously.

Coming further down the hallway, Curve rapped his knuckles against team KCAM's door, or KCAO as it was now known, due to the dropping out of Melina and the addition of someone new. Curve hadn't met him yet, and to be honest, he didn't care. "Yo Kuro, there's a new place in town. Wanna check it out?" He called.

(YAY time skip :3)

Azure Snow

The fox layed on her belly in bed, reading a book. The book was titled: Social Skills for the Unsocial. Pretty straightforward. She referred to the book quite often, and followed it step by step. Her legs were bent at the knee, kicking them playfully while she read. Her left hand held the book open and her right hand was in a fist under her chin, supporting her head.

Heterochromic eyes moved quickly from left to right. She was a quick reader which was a useful skill in the classroom. She was academically inclined, always was. Because she never spent a lot of time anywhere other than her dorm and her classes, she had plenty of time on her hands, which was typically spent on her studies. Azure flipped the page, her ears twitching at the sound of thin paper. Then suddenly, a knock came at the door. She set her book down, blinking as the heavy-handed knocks brought her out of the world of reading. She looked over at Kuro, but the radars on her head remained listening to the door, more alert than she was. She swung one leg down, about to stand up and open the door, but a voice carried itself through the barrier. It was Curve, and he spoke to Kuro. Azure blinked at Kuro then jerked her head toward the door, telling him to answer Curve.

KURO MAYONAKA

Sitting on his own bed in his room studying for history class, Kuro had been somewhat overthinking the events of the Emerald Forest since it had happened, not to mention Mel's disappearance. The Grimm bodies they found hadn't dissolved, were in the process of dissolving, and appeared to be dead. That just didn't happen, plain and simple. Then there was Sward, who got the absolute crap beat out of him by the Grimm and left for dead, when they should've either killed him or die trying. If Sward had killed them, he'dve had to develop claws or something to leave marks like what Kuro saw on the Grimm. He was brought out of his thoughts by a knock on the door, followed by Curve's voice asking if he wanted to go into town. Placing a covered photo in his book to save his place, he set it down and hopped off of the bunk and walkes towards the door. He opened it to meet Curve there.

"New place in town? Like a fun place or a library? If you say library, you can go have fun by yourself," Kuro responded like a smart-alec.

@HoneyBear\-Kat

Azure Snow

The fox watched her leader get up from his bed and walk to the door. She already knew who was on the otherside, by the voice and distinct aura coming from him, but she was still curious. It wasnt just curiosity, but security. For her own peace-of-mind she wanted to confirm it was him. Kuro turned the knob and opened it slightly, but not enough for her to see him. Sitting with her legs crossed at the end of her bed (closest to the door), she leaned to one side to peek between Kuro's arm and the door. Sure enough it was Curve.

After Mel's disappearance, the room felt quite lonely. Carter was never around, thanks to his dislike of people (and canines but Azure doesnt know that yet), so most of the time she spent in the dorms was either by herself or with Kuro. The faunus had heard something of a new member possibly joining jn, but she wasnt too sure. And the thought of having someone new on the team, only made her nervous. So because of the lonliness, having a visitor was a nice change. Azure gave a small, shy smile and a quick wave to Curve, not really expecting a greeting back from the serious guy but . While the two males talked, Azure glanced at Mel's old bed beside her and frowned. She looked back to Kuro, at least he was in the room with her, he made it just a little less lonely, and having Curve show up lifted her spirits even more, even if hes always grumpy.

@apoliseno @Alstromeria

Joy Citron

The sadistic female with a very positive attitude was up bright and early, awake before the sun even was. She had snuck out of her dorm with a tool box in one hand her gauntlets between her side and her arm. Joy had settled on a bench in Beacon's courtyard, her tool box on one end, with the lid open and her gauntlets on the bench between her and the box of tooks. Joy sat sideways, with one leg off the edge of the bench, touching the floor, while the other was crossed and tucked under the opposite leg. She sat hunched over with her goggles over eyes for protection. In her hand, she held a cauterizer and carefully worked on one of her gauntlets. There was an open panel on one of them, relvealing all kinds of circuits and wires and the like. Her tongue stuck out, showing the effort and focus she was putting into her work.

When the tool would touch the insides of the gauntlet's mechanics, a faint sizzling sound would buzz from the melting of metal and every now and then a few sparks would pop up into her face...hence the goggles. The girl pulled away from the delicate procedure and stretched her back a little, moving her waist to and fro to move the discs than run along her spine. She moved her shoulders in a circular motion then rolled her neck, loosening up from staying in a stiff position for so long. She slid her goggles to the top of her head and looked at her watch on her left wrist,"Wow...Ive been here for a while," she giggled to herself.

Curve nodded hello to Azure when he saw her wave at him, then returned his gaze to Kuro. "A fun place. A club, actually. If it were a library I was after, I wouldn't waste time leaving campus." He jerked his thumb over his shoulder. "It's down in the shipping district, from what I understand. Sward and I were planning to go later tonight. Thought we might get some of the other students to go."

Curve had noticed the small smile Azure gave him, which was suprising. This was probably the first time the small faunice had looked at him with anything other than a slight frown of underlying disapproval. Sheesh, first there was Sward being a bit off, now Azure. At this rate, Ozpin would be flouncing about in a beret and a skirt selling girl scout cookies.

Kuro bobbed his head. "Well, sure. I mean, it has been a long week. I could loosen up." Curve nodded in response. "Well that was the idea, I was going to ask some of the people in the other teams as well, and Sward's made a remarkable recovery. Time off is for stress relief, and that's something some of you need." Of course, Curve wasn't acknowledging himself, he was going to check the place out and make sure things were running smoothly. Plus, he wanted to be there while he sent Jackal and Fudge on some errands.

Kuro thought going to a fun place was a good idea. And Curve was right, it had been a pretty rough start of the semester. "Welp, i'm in for it. What do you say azure?" Kuro turned to his shorter, fox-tailed companion.

Azure Snow

When Curve returned the acknowledgement, Azure's smile extened just a little bit bigger, it was subtle but it was there. It was true that Curve often got on Azure's bad side (if she even has one), even if he didnt really know it, but hes not entirely a bad guy, she just doesnt exactly agree with all his methods and ideology....or his agressive nature, but hey what can you do? The fox went back to paying attention else where. She looked down at her lap and opened the book again. She wasnt exactly reading but she didnt want to appear eaves dropping either. Though, anyone could listen in from her distance.

Suddenly Kuro turned to her, asking if she wanted to tag along,"Um.." She took a second or two to think. Closing the book she looked off to the side,"I suppose I could. I-I have not seen much of Vale since I arrived at Beacon." I was true, the only time she stepped out of the walls of Beacon was to go to the forest or the Dust shop in Vale. She never ventured only went to the shop and back, with out talking to anyone or going anywhere else. She only came to that conclusion after thinking about all the people that might be at this new club. There was discomfort with the thought but she remembered the promise she made to herself about being more social, at least trying to be. So it was settled, she talked herself into it and that was that. However after she agreed there was a hint of regret bubbling in her tummy.

Azure picked up a familiar aura coming down the hall and it was getting closer,"What about Carter?"

@Alstromeria

--------------------------------------

Carter "Grey" Greyson

Carter had reentered the gates of Beacon after doing a quick morning errand. He was returning after a busy morning, and was out in the streets of Vale for a while. He held a brown, drawstring bag by its neck. With every step it sounded like glass clinked and shifted. He headed straight for the dorms in hopes to catch some more sleep after his early rise. There was a sense of relief when he entered the housing building. He could hear his bed calling his name from a few floors above him. Down the hall of the dorm rooms, he turned the corner and heard a voice. Carter looked up and saw Curve standing at the door way of his room. The boy sighed then groaned,"What now..." he muttered.

A few steps away from the door he heard his name peep out of the mouth of his tiny comrade, Azure,"What about me," he demanded more than asked with his smooth, monotone voice of his. He stood behind Curve who stood in the door way, waiting for him to move or create enough space for him to go through. Carter eyed Curve with his permenantly annoyed/pissed off scowl he always had on,"Whats going on here? Who invited this guy?" Carter looked at Kuro and Azure, poiting his thumb at Curve.

Carter never really thought his words were harsh or rude, he just spoke his mind. If people took offense to it he'd say it wasnt his problem. But often times the way he came off was what made people offended, he always seemed like he was insulting others because of the look on his face, or his judging eyes, or even the tone in his voice. And its gotten him into trouble multiple times, but his knack for staying calm in extremely stressful moments has gotten him out of many situations. To him, keeping a leveled head was logical.

Curve's hand immediately struck out in a back-handed jack-slap, coming across Carters face with his semblance active. His tattoos glowed, and he cracked his knuckles on the one hand by curling his fingers into a fist and simply wiggling his lower fingers in his fist. "This guy isn't invited anywhere. He invites himself. He also smacks the shit out of people who call him 'this guy'." Curve didn't seem angry in the way he did it, just... Mildly peeved. He held Carter's gaze for a bit, not breaking eye contact, letting the smaller boy know that even though he had a tude, Curve's was undoubtedly worse.

Curve turned back to Kuro, still collected as ever, acting as if the previous exchange hadn't happened. He did keep his muscles tense just in case the boy decided to strike back. Curve doubted he could muster enough force to hurt him unless he used a weapon, which Curve doubted. "Bring him along if you feel like it. I don't care." With that, Curve stumed his way down the hall, off to find anyone else who might want to join in.

Kuro was shocked when Curve smacked Carter to say the least. "Hey hey HEY!" He protested, but Curve had said his piece and was off down the hallway before he could do anything else. "Damn..." That guy never played nice. Ever. Kuro felt his trust for the bulkier, shorter student diminish once again.

Curve made his way to the courtyard in search of other people, where he found joy, as well as Ivory nearby. He jerked his chin at them both, who were sitting in close proximity, but not necessarily together. "Hey," He said to them both, "Joy. I owe you a bit of a favor. Sward, me, and a couple other students are going to a new club later tonight. You in?" Curve nodded at Ivory in an attempt to elicit a response from her as well.

Ivory glanced at Curve and nodded slightly. She had been mulling over her decision for quite some time before she had finally decided on what to do, she still needed to see their facilities though. She stood up and walked past him, slipping him a note on her way and went to sort her blades somewhere discreet. The note she had the following words:

I'd like to see your group.

Joy Citron

"Joy," the sound of her name made her curiosity pique,"Hmmm~?" She turned around to see Curve,"Oh hey~" she grinned and waved. The female put one foot on the bench, leaning both forearms over the knee, slightly hunched over,"Somethin you need?" Her creepy, permenant smile radiating on her face. "I owe you a bit of a favor." Curve continued. "A favor?" She gave an innocent confused face, with her lips pursed and battling eyelashes. She set her foot back down and walked a little closer to Curve so she wouldnt have to talk so loudly just for him to hear. As she approached him, she placed a hand under her chin and gave a long, slow look at Curve up and down with her ruby eyes,"You're not exactly my type, but a favor is a favor, I'm not picky," her tone turned silky and seductive, along with her smile, which turned into a smirk. She purposefully took his comment out of context and into...an innuendo. That was Joy for ya.

The quirky girl snapped back into her playful, preppy self,"Im totally kidding!" She flicked her wrist and put her other hand on her hip,"So whats this favor~?" she eagerly awaited for an answer. "Sward, me, and a couple of other students are going to a new club later tonight. You in?" The girl didnt even have to think twice before taking a single hop of excitement,"Yes! A night out on the town. Now we're talkin'," she winked and nodded her head.

@Alstromeria

Curve snorted at Joy's flirtations, but hey, at least she knew a good looking guy when she saw one. He accepted Ivory's note with a bit of confusion, but by the look on her face (and his previous experiences) knew he wasnt supposed to open it here. He stuck the piece of paper in his pocket for further use and headed off down to team ASIM's dorm. Time to talk to Ivory's temmates about coming as well.

Once there, he knocked on the door. "Yo. KCAM, Ivory, and a few others are going to the new place out in the shipping district tonight. Any of you coming with?"

"Sure! I could use a break!" Silas said as she opened the door, her armor on. "I really need to the hell out of this room.... My head hurts so much from studying...." She said with a smile at curve. @Alstromeria

Zaffre & Viole

There was palpable tension in the air as two boys approached the safehouse of a powerful gang. Known all throughout Vacuo even the citizens gave area a wide berth walking on the other side of the street casting fearful glances at the boys and their destination. Their anxiety stood in stark contrast to the calm the surrounded the two boys, who seemed to either be oblivious or cocky, neither were true but who would know. As the two boys came to a halt in front of a pair of beautifully polished oak doors a few old men who were drinking and playing cards on the other sid of the street rushed inside fearing what would come next one of them came back snagging his forgotten drink and guzzling those of his companions. Glancing back in time to witness this transpire, Viole's face gained a smile and he chuckled heartily. "Hey Z, it seems these guys really do run these streets they've got everyone afraid just to be on the street when a couple a kids knock on their door." Zaffre Looked over at his little brother, "Let's do our best to get through this without adding to their fear." Viole pouted a little his mouth twisting to the side in a rebellious expression, "but the screaming is the best part.......spoilsport." Zaffre just rolled his eyes knocking on the door they could hear a single lock being undone however there were several other clicks that followed. Just by hearing them Zaffre could determine the positions and types of firearms that were just prepped, about twenty a fourth of them near the door the rest assorted around the room. the door opened to reveal the mug of a man that was clearly a grunt. His gritty yet higher pitched voice didn't help the pair take him seriously, "You kids lost?". Zaffre just shook his head, "We're looking for Wolf, we heard he may have some information we could use." Another voice came from behind the man at the door, "And what makes you think that Wolf would share such information with children?" Zaffre and Viole both stepped forward brushing past the grunt at the door the two approached the man that had spoke both registering that he was the man they were looking for even with his weak attempts to mislead them. "We're looking for our brother Cervena," Reaching into a pocket within his jacket Zaffre heard the twenty-first click, behind him stood the grunt, clearly annoyed and aiming a pistol at the back of Zaffre's skull. "Easy there kiddo, let's not do anything to make these men....jumpy." Viole couldn't take it anymore besides the man's voice we was clearly too stupid to live, after a few stifled chuckles, Viole let loose laughing heartily he simply pointed at the now confused man struggling to speak between bouts of raucous laughter. "You-hahaha...idiot heheheheh.....look down." The now puzzled man attempted to look down only to jerk his head back up finding the sharp point of Zaffre gunblade right under his chin, he looked at the young man he was previously attempting to threaten and found his unnatural, cross pupils glaring at him from the corner of his eye. "For your health and well-being, I suggest you don't give me a reason to pull this trigger....." Zaffre finished fishing out the photo he had previously been reaching for and handed it to Wolf, "I apologize for my man's behaviour...pointing guns at people's head is a greeting where we're from..." Glancing down at the picture Wolf's brows furrowed as he processed what he saw, he looked up at the azure eyes of Zaffre shrugging, "Hell, I don't know this 'Cervena guy... but you two should come with me..." By now Viole had calmed himself down and was wiping tears from his eyes, "Heheh....sounds like a plan....lead the way." With the the three headed deeper into the safe house disappearing behind another polished oak door.

(@Alterius Merry fucking christmas indeed xD )

Wolf led the two boys through a hall and down a flight of stairs. The average-sized man in his mid twenties did his business out of the view of the grunts of his gang. Especially this business. Down the flight of stairs was a room with a desk, a couch, and four chairs. "I'm going to ask you to sit. Friendly suggestion, not required. But I'm going to sit. Might be awkward." Wolf sat behind the rich mahogany desk and leaned back in the large, hard-backed chair. This was the chair the boss sat in. The chair that was entrusted to him in the bosses abscence. Curve's taste was apparent thoughout the office, from the intimidating desk, to the harsh tones of the other furniture: Direct and simple, yet intimidating. Curve had shown his men he could be an everyday thug, just like them, and this is what won their respect. They respected Wolf a little less however, if only because they knew the boss wouldn't like it.

"You two obviously know your way around," Wolf remarked, jerking his chin at Zapphere's gun/sword combo. Viole carried no weapons, but Wolf didn't doubt he was dangerous. "So," Wolf took another look at the picture, his forehead creasing as his eyebrows lifted, "Three people. Three little boys. Eight? Nine? I dunno." Wolf placed the picture on his desk and pushed it forwards with a forefinger. "The question I want answered is: Where the hell did you get it." Wolf leaned back, lacing his fingers across his stomach. "Because, one: I see a younger version of you two in this picture. And your 'brother.' And I mean, it's touching and all, makes me want to shed a single tear for the sake of nostalgia. BUT..." Wolf tapped the boy who stood behind the other two, the one with long black hair, his arms around the shoulders of the other two. Holding. Protecting. "...I want to know who exactly the hell you think this is. Because he, looks an awful lot like someone i've met, and personally do not want to tangle with. Two people come knocking on the door of one of the most feared buildings in Vacuo asking for him? I admit, this is a little bitty shady." Wolf leaned forwards, his arms folded in front of him on the countertop. "I'd like to hear a story. From the beginning, preferably." His ears were perked in anticipation.

@Emperor Of Embers

Curve nodded at Silas, eying up her atire. "Well relax a bit and don't. You can't have a comfortable time wearing so much armor." Curve turned down the hallway to leave. "Bring whoever else you want. We're leaving around 7:30." Curve cla-Bmped his way through the hall and outside, where he hoped to find Sward.

And he did, but not where he expected to. Instead of on the roof, or in a tree, Curve found Sward sitting upright against one of the stone pillars supporting the roof of beacon. Well not, really, they were just for decoration, but they looked like they held alot of weight anyways. Curve sat down next to Sward, one knee up, the other straight out in his usual, rigid pose. "Yo." He grunted, knocking his knuckles on the side of the wall, "Still with us?" Curve examined Sward's bandages, or rather, where they used to be. He was completely healed, and that was strange. The cuts and bruises he had were all gone too. "Nurses did one bang up job." He observed. But Curve was a bit more worried than usual. Why was this? Something that was menial, of course, but noteworthy enough for the burly teen to notice: There was no juice in the immediate vicinity.

Boomer looked at tate with a smile, he did feel as if he were getting better after a nurse gave him medicine. "Hey, How about we go out tonight? Maybe with the rest of our team too, just in case we need 'em. What do you say?" he asked with a nervous chuckle.

Asher, finally done eating his third meal for the night, stood up and stretched his entire body. After he put away his piles of dishes, he made his way to his dorm when he caught a glimpse of Silas' greenness walking towards the infirmary. He had almost completely forgotten that Boomer was in there. He thought he should visit him again, so he decided to join her in visiting his friend.

Once Asher walked up to Silas he spoke, "Visiting Boomer? Hope you don't mind one more." He gave a forced smile to Silas. He was trying to improve his people skills lately, whether it worked or not, he tried.
