RWBY: The Years Before: Shadow of Grim

" I really feel like everybody is still thinking about who should be leader. I know I want to be leader so that pushes away the want from you guys of wanting me as leader and I'm not sure if Grovyn wants to be leader,so why don't we just make everyone equal so no ones leader and we don't have to fight" Tate said liking her idea even though everyone else probably was already thinking that,"I'm ok with not being leader because as long as we're all equal it doesn't matter and we can take turns on devising a plan" Tate finished knowing the guys will like it.

Sward was yawning and as he did he noticed the time. His eyes widened. He then jumped up noticing that his leg was in no longer in pain. He then then dressed in his regular attire and woke Locke and OJ. He over slept. Great just great and this means he will have to talk to Kuro later. There was no time to think that now. Class is about to start in 5 minuets. As he rushed Locke who was still half awake OJ seemed to be doing just fine getting prepared. Locke wouldn't wake so Sward put him on his back and ran to the classroom with OJ following behind. Sward's running woke Locke up rather violently. As the group stopped Locke's hair was sitting up but he just patted it down. He yawned and then saw Curve. He tried to sit next to him but OJ sat in between them. Probably for the best since the ruckus last time. The lesson was halfway through and Sward was not interested in it that much. He got out one of his juice boxes when he saw a shadow of a bird. "Ah... what a cute little bird. (More bird shadows appear and grow bigger) This made Sward curious and as he leaned on the window he saw that these weren't your average birds. "Nevermore! Nevermore!" Sward was yelling this as he rushed out of his seat. "A flock of Nevermores are heading over the Emerald Forest!"

Carter "Grey" Greyson

After finishing his carefully selected meal he stood up, closed his book, and left the cafeteria with his hands in his pockets. His feet dragged slightly with the slow pace of his. But today did seem slower than usual, maybe it was just because he was dreading Oobleck's class. Whether he dreaded it or not, he had to go regardless.

When he arrived there werent a lot of students, but the room was filling in. He saw a familiar face, Curve's, from his first encounter in the forest. Carter took his seat and waited for the lesson to begin. He continuously looked at his watch, wondering where the hell his team was. Class had started, and just in time he saw the lengthy ears of a fox faunus standing in the door way. Carter grimaced, hoping someone else wouldve showed up other than the canine. Right behind her was Sward and the two others of his team, claiming their seats beside Curve. Azure walked doen a few steps and sat next to Carter quietly. He looked at her from the corner of his eye and scooted his chair a little ways from her.

A little ways into the lesson and someone suddenly yelled "Nevermore! Nevermore!" Carter whipped his head around to see Sward announcing so. At first, Carter thought it was just a prank, Nevermore were a rare sight to see, not your average Grimm like beowulfs and such. But when Carter saw the casted shadows of the demented birds, he scowled. Sward was quick to jump out of seat and pursue them. Pretty reckless Carter thought. Beside him Azure stood up, but Carter extended his arm infront of her. He looked up at her from his seat, with his cold stare, "Dont go anywhere with out the others, lets get them first."

Azure Snow

The faunus smiled at Mel's positivity, and ability to spring back up after a little fall. But Mel's next question seemed to trouble her,"Like what?" she asked. Azure didnt think she was very interesting, and she didnt think of anything interesting enough to share. While she thought, her eyes looked around room but landed on the clock near the window. She gasped,"The time! We are going to be the late!" Her voice raised slightly. She wasnt the type to yell, and her soft, quiet voice prevented her from doing do. (Sorry i just want to catch up so Im gonna make her go) Azure stood up from the bed,"Meet me at the class," she called out to Mel behind her befofe dashing out the door. She ran down the hall to men's restroom and poked her head in, but covered her eyes with her hands,"Kuro! We are already late!" she exclaimed, then quickly left, running toward Oobleck's class.

Azure was a fast girl, faster than most and she made it to the class in no time. She walked in, standing in the doorway for a moment, searching for Carter whom she already assumed was there. Using her nose, she was able to locate him a lot quicker than with her eyes, and her semblance helped as well. She walked down some steps and scooched her way beside him befofe sitting. She didnt say a word, but instead, immediately began to pay attention to Oobleck. She may not be social, but Azure was academically inclined. Where she lacked in social skills, she made up for in knowledge. Though she struggles to speak up and share her knowledge. Some way into the lesson and someone began crying out Nevermore. Azure looked around, ears twitching and turning for the voice. It was Sward. The chitter chatter of voices began to arose in the room, and Azure sensed the tension levels spike up, making her nervous as well. She stood up, but Carter quickly blocked her. Azure looked down at the still sitting Carter, boy was she grateful for his collected composure, he presented the logical thing to do: instead of going off on their own, they had to inform the team. "I'll tell Mel," Azure said and immediately whipped out her scroll, sending a message. "Guess that leaves me Kuro," Azure heard Carter sigh. He too took his scroll out but called Kuro instead. He left a quick message only saying,"We have a situation, find us quickly, we'll be outside of Oobleck's," before hanging up. When she sent the message Azure looked up at him and Carter grabbed her by the wrist,"Come on," he said and tugged her harshly, almost making her trip.

They left the class room, watching Locke and his team take off. The lad let go of Azure, wiping his hand on his shorts after touching her. The fox crinkled her nose, wonderingm what his problem was. Carter groaned,"Where are they?" Receiving only a shrug from Azure.

@theManCalledSting

The Moment Azure left all of a sudden hurt Mel, sure they're a bit late but it doesn't mean Azure had to run off like she did.

Man it's times like this I wish I could just melt back into the background... Mel thought to herself once again as her positivity faded away.

"You know... I suddenly feel like I'm not worth anyone's time here..." Mel said with her arms crossed as tried to hide her hurt feelings.

"Mel, you're hopeless..." she said with her head down.

Curve's eyes lazily opened at Sward's shouting. He looked out the window, and sure enough, a flock of nevermore were flying. Straight. Over. Beacon. "Son of a bitch..." Curve groaned under his breath. He stood up, cracking his neck. Professor Oobleck pointed at him with the instrument he used to poke at the board in class. "Curve, I'm going to have to ask you to sit back down. You may not leave my class." Curve stared down the teacher with distaste. "Look buddy," he growled, "You want us to be hunters. When a flock of nevermores are flying over beacon, and away from the emerald forest, I'd say that's a situation in our job description we have to handle. It'd be alot more useful than this." Oobleck waved his pointer agravatedly. "Outrageous! My class is one of the most important aspects of being a hunter! Those who forget history are doomed to repeat it!" Curve snorted, his tattoos glowing, *claBmp*-ing his way out of the room. "Pshh. When I'm facing down a king taijitu and its fangs are two inches from my neck, I'll sure be glad I know who led the faunice in the third war." With that, he made his way out of the room. An audible and judgemental slurp of coffee came from Oobleck as he shook his head. The boy would get himself killed one of these days.

Curve tossed a glance over his shoulder. He could see Sward following him. Of course he was. But OJ and Locke were in tow. The quartet made their way to the front doors of beacon, but Curve stopped before opening them.
"Locke. Stay behind." Curve said, his stony gaze resting on the smaller boy.

After changing clothes, finally, Kuro was about to leave the bathroom when Azure poked her head in with her eyes covered, worriedly reminding him that they would be late for class. Eyes wide, he ran out of the bathroom and chucked his clothes onto his bed and looked over at Mel.

"Let's go, Ice Queen! We're gonna be late for class...again!" he informed her as he turned right back around and ran to Oobleck's class for more boring history. Ordinarily, Kuro would be the one having to be reminded that they were going to be late, so this situation with Mel was kind of weird. He'd have to have a talk with her later, see what was going on. On his way, he got a message from Carter that told him to meet the rest of the team in front of the classroom. When he got close, he heard someone yelling. "Nevermore! Nevermore!" He poured on his speed and stopped in front of the room with his team, but then he noticed Locke's team running to the front doors. He wasn't about to let them fight alone.

"You know what, guys? I think we should skip class today on account of those birds up there. You guys in?" he asked with a smirk. At the same time, he messaged Mel and told her to meet them in front of the classroom with her hammer.

Mel sighed and said plainly, "You're lucky I'm a quick change artist."

And after a brief visit to the bathroom, Mel came out in her Uniform and her hair in pig-tails.

"And what's this ruckus about a Nevermore? You sure they're not some wannabe depression poet or something?"

Azure & Carter

Carter was more than willing to skip out on the class. However Azure...wasnt easily persuaded. She looked back, remembering that she never skipped a day of class unless she was ill. Not only that, but she was sure the faculty and adminitrators of Beacon would not pleased. She was going to protest but Carter spoke first,"Attacking a Nevermore with hunters-in-training, isnt the best thing to do," he looked at Kuro. Then he sighed and shook his head,"But leaving those eager idiots have all the fun is dangerous," he gestured toward Locke's team making their way to the gates of Beacon,"They may need help," Locke's team was a very capable one. They were able to help them selves but these were Nevermore. And more than one. If they were anything like the Grimm they encountered yesterday, then Locke's would be needing assistance. Especially when they dont have the whole team work thing down.

Azure looked away from Carter after he spoke, both him and Kuro had a point, the other team cant be alone. Azure could face the consequences with tea hers and other admins later, but right now she worried about the well being of Beacon, her team, and Locke's team. Their safety was much more important. She looked at Kuro and gave a curt nod, admitting she was in...she felt hesitant...

"I'm starting to think that Ozpin's a crazy..." Mel thought aloud, "Why in the hell would you send hunters-in-traning against nevermores!" Mel continue to rant about Ozpin's negligence for the safety of the students. "Besides where are the professors?" Mel asked anyone in ear shot.

Sterling was furious. Slate had to deliver a shipment (classified material of course), but dropped one of the storage containers in the emerald forest. Ragnarok ordered that he get it back by any means necessary. It landed in a heavily forested area which means he can't retrieve it with his nevermores. He would have to use them to lift the container and place it in an open area for transport. He looked towards Beacon, and was horrified to see that Slate had taken the retrieval party right over the school grounds.

"Slate!" He pressed a finger to his ear, raising Slate on the comm, "What the BLOODY hell do you think you're doing?" Slates gruff voice came along with the sound of rushing wind. "Boss said this was a time sensitive mission. I'm taking the fastest route." Sterling shook his head. "Right over the fucking school full of enemies?!?!?" His voice was laced with disbelief at Slate's stupidity. "Nevermind. You've compromised the sensitivity of the mission. Send one of the nevermores down, the others just keep going. We'll look suspicious... The GRIM, will lok suspicious. Just get over here, we need out fast." "You got it." Slate clicked off his comm.

"Better get this done quick." Sterling said to himself nearing his objectives location.

Glynda goodwitch caught up with team LSOC, team KCAM, and anyone else who was there to fight at the front doors. "Ah, hello students. It has been determined that you are the most experienced in dealing with the... Ah, cultured grim." Glynda had acknowledged now that there was something new happening with certain grim that made them different. "Ozpin has sent me to oversee this encounter, and help if necissary. Glynda pushed open the doors with her wand, nodding for the students to do their thing. "I do hope you all know how to handle yourselves."

Kuro looked up in horror at the oncoming wave of Grimm coming in from the air, eyes wide. There were no real Huntsmen or Huntresses besides the instructors at the school, and if these were the same Grimm from the forest, then things could end worse now than they did then. His already-clenched fists grew even tighter, knuckles turning white. He released the tension and found the grips of Taiyo and Tsuki, taking them out of their holsters, ready for a fight. He made out figures on the backs of the two Nevermore, and almost a humanoid figure riding atop one of them. There was no way he could take a shot at those things, let alone the King Taijitu one of them was carrying in its claws. He'd have to wait it out, until they got closer. He went from nonchalant Kuro into tactical Kuro in an instant.

"Carter, you and I are on ranged attacks. Shoot em from a distance to slow em down so anyone else can get in close to start pummeling them. Mel, you smash anything that gets close to you with that hammer. Azure, pistols for now, midrange, draw attention to us. We split their focus up to confuse them so we can hammer em all at once with everything we've got. Save your Semblances for last resort situations. Everyone got it?" he asked, turning to his team with the determination he felt overshadowing the fear he felt.

@HoneyBear\-Kat @theManCalledSting

Curve nodded at goodwitch before stepping past. At least she had recognized his ability for combat. He bumped shoulders with Locke on the way out, none to gently. "I mean it. You stay here. Sward's just recovered, you hit him again and I'll split your skull." He strolled out into the front walkway, taking a spot beside Kuro. His arm blade shot out with an audible *kashink*. His tattoos glowed as his dark eyes watched the incoming grim. "Good strategy. You're a strong leader." Curve did nothing until one of the nevermores split. Two changed course to go around beacon, but the others and two griffons one didn't. He snorted, of course there had to be a catch. The one would be easier to fight than all three at once, but that would mean there was some hunting to do later. He paced in between two pillars, his boots *claBMp*-ing across the cobblestones in their usual fashion, but they paused as the nevermore drew closer. Curve spotted something on its back. "Is that an ursa on its back?" Curve spat. "And a goddamned beowulf?" To be honest, Curve was suprised by this development, but he didn't show it any more. The grim were working together. And not just to murder and destroy, they had formed a strategy. He cast a wary and dark gaze at goodwitch, sizing up her reaction, but she remained suprisingly calm. Either she had expected this, she knew something, or she was as good at masking her emotions as he was. It didn't matter, he was getting impatient, and the high he got from killing the man last night was wearing off. "Can't these things fly any faster? I want blood." He growled, rubbing the edge of his blade with the side of his thumb.

Upon hearing a commotion outside, boomer dropped his food, and got up. "There is no time. There is something going on, and we gotta help them!" He exclaimed as he ran straight for his locker, which held his weapon. He had a feeling of dread running down his spine. And thought "alright big shot, let's see what we can do." He thought as he set Light breaker on his back, and ran out to the forest.

@Metaphysics @Chayliel

Sonora Roja, a Black Wolf Faunus, was walking to Beacon while listening to music on her Scroll. However, she looked up in the sky, and chuckled as she saw a couple Nevermores flying in the sky. "Welp. Time to orchestrate some deaths." She said with a sigh, and put her headphones away. She then got out Hunter Master, her massive hunting horn, and played her Movement Speed Up song. Once the buff was applied, she ran as fast as she could to the battle, leaving a Burgundy energy trail as her semblance activated. She arrives at the forest, and saw Glynda. "Hey miss! Need some help with these clowns?!" She called as she ran up to her and the others. @Alstromeria @Carnation @everybody else.

Locke was slightly annoyed by Curve's comment but that didn't matter. He drew his bow and aimed down it but as he heard Curve say something about ursas and beowulves he turned his sights to the side of the grimm and sure enough their were. This was a problem. He then heard saw some one who seemed to appear out of nowhere and asked Glynda and the others if they needed assistance. Locke gave her smile. "I'll take you up on that offer. We'll need all the help we can get." As the nevermore drew closer he fired his bow at the smaller grimm noting that his shots would just tingle the nevermore from this range but he can dish out greater amounts of damage against the smaller ones. Their was just one problem The Nevermore's wings would get in the way and might prevent the shot from hitting. "Here goes nothing (Clinches his teeth together)." The shot whisped through the air in a great amount of speed and just barely missed the wing and was about to make contact when the Beowulf saw it coming and jumped off right before it made contact and the ursa behind it did the same thing. Looks like range attacks will be useless if they can dodge unless... "OJ! Curve! Sward! See if you can make some of those grimm fly!" His plan was simple. If the others can make the grimm jump off the ground they would have no way of dodging his shots, Swards, OJ's, Curve's and the others.

Slate was just enjoying this. It was always a treat to hear how annoyed sterling can get. It was always funny to hear him get upset. Slate was acting nonchalantly on top of his nevermore and spotted an opening in the forest. Slate patted the beast and descended low enough for drop off. Slate climbed on the back of a Beowulf and the entire group jumped off and landed and rushed for the forest. The nevermore then dropped the king Taijitu and Slate jumped on it. "Slate. Remember we are looking for the container YOU lost. It was last seen around this sector." Slate just wanted to fight the students at Beacon but the orders came first before fun. "Yay Yay Sterling I'm on it...(turns off comm. Mr Bossy. Alright all of you go fetch!" Slate pointed towards the direction f the containers whereabouts and with this order the grimm rushed into the forest in a frantic search with Slate on her king taijitu following behind.

Sward caught up with the others. "Hey Kuro let's have that talk after we do some animal control." As Locke fired his arrow Sward was disappointed that it didn't hit its mark but their was something else bothering him. He was wondering about the enemies attacks. Surely a Nevermore has more destructive capabilities than trying to act as a transport. He was so deep in thought he didn't hear Locke's order. He then drew his blades and focused fully on the enemies in front of him and charged at the incoming grimm. It might seem stupid to do this alone but the thing was that this time he wasn't the only one charging head first.

"OK mister, get ready for the buffs!" Sonora said as she followed Locke, and unsheathed her massive horn. She then played the notes for her Defense Boost L song using different attacks. A right hook, a double swing for 2 blue notes, and another right hook. Then she puts the mouth part near the handle in her mouth as the horn's main part is held in the air, the face smiling an opening its mouth with every note. After 2 seconds of playing, Sward and Locke felt their skin hardening, with no visible signs. She then encores the song, and boosted their defense, hardening the skin to the point where a swipe of Ursa claws do minimal damage, with a shallow slash on the flesh, cutting the main layer of flesh, and going no deeper. She then did another right hook, and swung her horn behind her, and did a double swing, getting a blue and purple note on her horn, where the face is. She plays the song, boosting the attack Power of Sward and Locke, and then she did an encore as a Beowulf charged her from behind, swinging her horn to the right as she put the mouth piece in her mouth, with the main part of the horn hitting the Beowulf in the face, and knocking it away. She began to play, and further boosted their attack. The Beowulf charged her again, only to receive a left hook. The Beowulf was knocked away again, and got up, growling at Sonora. "What!? You want some?!" She shouted as she bared her fangs. @Carnation

Curve followed suit after Sward, but decided he had a better strategy. "The bird's all yours Kuro, Sward and I have the Ursa." As Sward dashed past, Curve grabbed him by the collar, spinning him in a circle. They'd done this a couple times before, and although probably unexpected, Sward would be agile enough to land a good enough blow. At least that's what Curve had thought...

His aim was off, and Sward ended up just a bit behind the ursa. This was not a bad thing though, it would have to fight on two fronts now. Curve pressed off the ground with his semblace, jumping into the air and thrusting down with his arm blade straight at the ursas face in the won-ton brawler style he usually fought with. But just as e punched down, the ursa rolled to the side. Before Curve had time to retaliate, the ursa swatted him with a massive paw, sending him tumbling back, heels over head. Curve managed to land on the balls of his feet, one hand dragging at the ground to support him, the other with his arm blade raised behind him for balance. Thank god the beowulf hadn't jumped into the fray yet, or he would have been toast. One of the Griffons swooped down, trying to dive-bomb him, but Curve managed to duck just in time.

Curve stood up straight, standing with the erect, noble pose of a matador in case the ursa decided to follow up on its attack, but it didn't. It just shook its head and bellowed at him. These grim were more than strange. They were elite. They coordinated attacks. They thought. They planned. Curve felt something hot on the side of his face. Reaching up, he felt sticky, rapidly drying blood pulse its way out of a medium sized scratch on his cheek. It didn't hurt, and it wouldn't scar, but it had been some time since he'd bled. Holding his hand away from his face to inspect it, he shook it, a few flecks of blood plopping themselves onto the cobblestones. "Well. Looks like we've got one that actually has the capacity to fight back." Curve said, narrowing his eyes. These were definetely not elderly grim, as he had noted before. They weren't born like this. The ursa was powerful and beastlike, but it was calm. Collected. Sentient. And that was the thing that unnerved Curve the most. The most dangerous enemy was one that was rational in the middle of battle.

Wiping the blood from his face, and with a dim glow of his tattoos, Curve slowly *claBMped* across the cobble, inching his way closer, more cautiously now.

After seeing the Grimm land on the ground and Curve's group begin engaging, Kuro enacted his plan. He opened up on the group of Grimm and tried to lead his shots and quickly shift to the sides after taking them, trying to nail them when they dodge. He remembered the intelligence these Grimm fought with in the woods, and be would not be taking any chances with them this time.

"Carter, Azure! Start firing! Mel, get up close and hit em! Keep them confused!" Kuro yelled over the deafening blasts of his shotguns.

OLIVER SAGE

It had been a long night of chasing leads for Oliver. He had it under good knowledge that a member of one of the local gangs still operating had threatened to squeal on their leader, so he had him kicked out under the threat of death to keep him quiet. Perfect chance for some info to take them down. When he reached the destination he had been looking for, all he found was a group of police officers crowded around an area on the ground. Looking over them, he saw the corpse on the floor. That was the kid he had been following. Damn, he just lost his only lead. He tried to get closer, but an officer noticed him and drew his weapon, pointing it at the teen in the green hooded outfit.

"We've heard about you! You're the vigilante that's been goin' around recently!" the officer nervously accused. Oliver slowly raised his hands after pushing a button on his wrist. A voice modifier that deepened his voice.

"I'm looking for the same thing you are officers, but my methods are a bit different...and more effective," he calmly tried to explain to them. They moved in closer. He rolled a smoke bomb he had hidden between his fingers and chucked it on the ground and escaped from the confusion. He had heard rumors of a new nightclub opening up. Maybe he should pay the owner a visit later.

@Alstromeria @Carnation

Ivory sat atop the roof of Beacon as she watched the battle rage on. She brought out her weapons, Sharp and Edge and turned the two into her anti-tank rifle and positioned herself to brace for the recoil. She set her sights on the Ursa and took a sharp breath as she focused. "Breathe in...breathe out." She said before she fired her weapon at the Ursa's thigh @Alstromeria . She moved slightly from the recoil before she positioned herself again for another shot. This time she aimed for a Griffon that was getting ready to move in. The shot grazed it but managed to scare it from attacking for now.

OLIVER SAGE

The lead Oliver had been chasing for a while was dead, so now he had nothing to pinpoint where that gang's hideout was. His next destination was a new nightclub he overheard some punks talking about before he took them down and dropped them off at the police's HQ. Evidently, some new guys from Vacuo had come in and opened it up in the indecent part of town. He didn't know anything about these new guys and decided to play this one cautiously. He flipped off of a rooftop and landed next to his motorcycle. It, of course, had a green paint job and a custom imprint of the tatoo he had on his right peck on each side with the tip of the arrowhead point the same way as the headlight. He slid the bow over his shoulder, next to his quiver, and mounted up. He revved the engine three times and took off down the road with his helmet on the backseat of his bike.

Once he saw the place, he realized that it was still under construction. The paint looked dry in some places and wet in others. He turned the bike off and removed the green mask from his eyes and slid it into his pocket, just in case his reputation got the better of him here. He unslung his bow and thumbed a small button on the handle, causing it to fold down into a small shape he could easily slip into a pouch on his pants. He kept the quiver, but touched a small button on the feathered end of each arrow that caused the arrows to collapse as well. Then he closed the top of his quiver so it looked like a backpack and dropped his hood. This was as close to incognito as he was going to get.

Upon entering the front hallway, he could already hear the loud techno beats of the music inside. Even if it wasn't done, it was already open. Gave him a few ideas. Once he stepped in, he took the time to discretely scan the crowd. No one looked that suspicous, but eyes could be deceiving. He approached the counter of the bar, and casually leaned on the counter.

"Yo, barkeep, I'll take a water. Not looking for a party at the moment," he said as casually as he could, even adding a confident smile.

Joy Citron

Another beautiful day at the renowned hunter/tress academy known as Beacon. The sky was clear, the sun was its usual happy, shiny self, birds and other creatures fled with terror from Emerald forest. Our lovely huntress, Joy was standing ontop of one of the many class rooms, her hands on her fully developed birthing hips, just below her tiny waist and toned, bare tummy. Leaning on one slender leg while her white braided hair dangled down past the cute dimples on her lower back. Joy always wore a smile, a sort of...haunting...creepy smile. Her magenta/red eyes blinked their pretty long lashes at the chaos falling before her. She raised her right hand up to the goggles sitting on the top her head and adjusted them, her smirk growing into a grin, barring sharp, snake-like fangs.

The clear sky or bright sun isnt what made this day beautiful to Joy. Oh no no no. What made this day beautiful, was the sight of chaos, the aroma of panic, the atmosphere of terror! Joy took a deep breath, savoring the moment, then released it all at once,"Simply beautiful~" her bubbly voice chimed. The girl stepped off the edge of the roof, landing with effortless grace. Sonora crossed her path, a little distance ahead. Joy pouted, but immediately returned to her cheery, plastic smile. She jogged over in a cute girly fashion, waving her hand,"Sonora~" she called. "How dare you start with out me!" she playfully complained. The sneaky snake faunus stood in the midst of the scene, unbothered by the grimm and battling hunters and huntresses alike. She liked this craziness, she was attracted to it, and more so attracted to power. She was a strange duck, really. But she loved dealing damage more than watching it. She hummed nonchalantly, looking down at her gauntlet and tinkering with it a little. She flipped a switch and a high pitched ring came from her iron fists, announcing that they were being charged up. She wiggled her fingers, making sure they wouldnt lock up on her (it happened to her once). All seemed to be running smoothly.

The echoing bellow of an Ursa caught her ears,"Hm?" She looked up and saw a rather large Ursa facing off with a tattoed boy (Curve). She smiled, watching the guy cautiously figure out his next move. She grinned once again, casually walking up to Curve and stopping behind him so she wouldnt get in his way,"Hes a big guy, aint he?" she eyed the Ursa with interest,"Hmm..." The gears in that pretty little head of hers turned. She raised her hand, palm facing the beast and released a bolt of energy. There was a slight recoil that only make her shoulder jerk, but other wise she stood in place. However she had no idea these were "smarter than the average bear" Ursas, and when she witnessed the grimm dodge the attack (cause im sure it did) she crinkled her nose,"Hm, well that didnt work," she shruged a little sounding a but surprised, but she took it rather lightly as if it were no big deal. In all honesty, her mental state wasnt all there, and because of that, she never saw or took anything seriously. It was always play time for her. In certain situations that kind of attitude was pleasant, but in other events, it really wasnt. She blinked as a cloud of dirt, kicked up from her blast, dissipated.

Curve was not amused. A happy go lucky girl with a ditzy disposition had just charged at the ursa and failed to hit it. "It doesn't work that way. The grim. They think now, apparently. At least more than usual." At least the girl favored a one arm weapon and a brawler style. Classy.

Curve decided something. He decided that all grim were now intelligent. Probably not all of them were, but as much as he hated it, he was paranoid, even if that was something he would never admit. But it was safer to assume all grim could think than expect they didn't and get yourself mauled.

Curve loosened his stance, pointing his un-bladed hand at the ursa. If the ursa could reason, there was a chance it understood speech. "You, my dear sir. You are getting on my nerves. I will have you shot." HIs tattoos glowed with te statement. And as if by magic, a loud *CRACK* split the air, and a spurt of blood came out of the ursas hind thigh. Curve glanced sideways, determining where the shot had come from, and could just barely make out Ivory's figure, braced laying down on a rooftop of the school, distinguishable by her white hair. Curve raised a hand in a thumbs up gesture in acknowledgment. The ursa let out a bellow of pain once, then panted, shifting around. And then it hit Curve all at once. The grim were working together. They had strategized. And he was a human. More specifically, a hunter. Killing grim was what he did. Killing grim was what hunters did. One thing was for certain, he could beat the shit out of the ursa. He just had to be able to get close enough to do it.

"Sward! Use your rifles! Grab a griffon, get some air!" Curve's face creaced at the brow, making him look even more serious and angry than he usually did. He pointed at the girl whose name he still did not know. He'd just call her gauntlet for now, because of her arm/cannon/glove thing. "Go around the side, aim for its legs." Spreading his legs apart, Curve swished his blade in front of him, the other arm straight out, fingers splayed so he could catch any blow the ursa might throw at him if it charged. "OJ? I'll need some fireworks."
