Fandom RWBY: Beacon's Light

Others slowly started to drift in, the last among them being a rather large guy with oddly colored hair and a girl wearing a hood. Although he admitted he could be wrong on the latter. Laying back, Michael slowly drifted to sleep, anxious for the day to come. The snores and sounds of the others barely bothered him, but they kept him alert.

Lara made her way around the building, finally finding the room with everyone sleeping, and went over to an empty portion of the floor. Her feet barely made a sound as she pulled out a sleeping bag and climbed in, not bothering to change her clothes. Curling herself inwards into the cocoon like thing, she quickly fell asleep.

Almost as quickly as she'd fallen asleep, Lara seemed to be getting jostled awake. She heard someone mumble an apology, then stumble off to get ready. Slowly crawling out of the sleeping bag, she blinked in the soft morning sunlight. It felt like she'd just closed her eyes, but suddenly it was morning. Getting up, she stretched quickly before gathering her things for the day ahead.

(SO SORRY. I've been juggling a bunch of stuff, and kept forgetting to reply... I think I'll be pretty regular for a while now though, since I'm done all the shenanigans XP)

Hector had a smile on his face for a few minutes after meeting with the lovely girl known as Lara, his first companion in this new adventure. But soon, his face grew to a frown of concern as he was slowly loosing his way. After roughly three more minutes, he was guided to the sleeping quarters which they would rest in for that night.

The place was packed, rows and rows of beds with people inside all of them. Hector could see that few spots were left, but of course there was room in the far corners of the room, seeing it people were glad to see one another. He made heavy steps through the darkened room, his heavy footsteps followed by groans of interruption and awakening as he managed to get to a bed. The bag itself was too small for him to fit in, thus he decided to roll it up and use it as a head rest. There, he closed his eyes softly and slept with whispers.

The sunlight's warmth greeted Hector's face as he slowly opened his eyes. He looked upon himself to see his sword in front of his vision as his body was curled up into a ball, warmth returning to him once more. He slowly sighed, grunting as he sat up and stretched his legs, then falling back down once more to stretch the rest of his body. He soon clumbsily got up, dragging his feet to the wall to wait there until energy was bestowed upon him.

When air had woken up, she didn't know what to expect from the day. She headed to where the lockers were and began to get ready. There was one boy with blonde hair walking around, asking many people to be apart of his group. Air smiled at his persistence. When he got to her, she didn't know what to say. Air smiled at the boy, "I am not really sure. Depends on what the rules are." She said, following the rumors. She didn't have a particular person she was looking out for to be her partner, but she did like this boy's spirit. Before she could respond to him again, everyone was headed out. Air grabbed her twin hooks, crossing them against her back, then grabbed her dust. When she was ready, she followed everyone out. Some were still very tired, but others were awake and excited. Air was one of those excited, but she did not show it. She wanted to wait until she was out there.

Michael was one of the first awake, slipping out of the room to clean himself up and get ready. He grabbed his gear from his locker, loaded his rifle and pockets, and then stretched, preparing for the day. He saw another boy in green, acting calmly with his dual pistols, despite the rather annoying ginger girl that was pestering him. Ready for combat, Micheal headed towards the dining room. He loaded up on pancakes, hashbrowns, and bacon, grabbing done orange juice to drink.

As he ate, he looked around, wondering again who his partner would be. A table over, his peripheral vision caught some girl inhaling a pancake. Appetite lost, he returned his tray and headed for the cliff.

Lara followed the general crowd of people heading to breakfast, her sharp ears catching on a dramatic story that was apparently a dream, and she chuckled. Grabbing whatever she could put on a plate, Lara ate quickly and followed the few people already done towards where she assumed the cliffs would be. Part of her worried she'd be stuck with someone incompetent, but the other part knew that you'd have to have at least some skill to get into the prestigious Beacon academy.

Hector rose, his right hand forcebly slapping his face as the rush of pain sent his nerves awake, shaking his head with a soft smile. He lifted his sword, as if a magnetic attraction which perfectly sheathed Falkrieth on his back, stumbling forward weakly as he headed to the breakfast room.

Hector then sat down within the large tables, smiling as he had a large meal. It contained mostly eggs and sausage, moreso sausage as he wolfed the food down. With a belch through his nose, he pounded his chest with a nod as he got up, following the group once more. Hector decided he would put faith in the reasoning, finding it if he needed to work with a lesser warrior it'd be a challenge, a greater warrior a blessing. He smiled at the thought as he marched onward towards the cliffs.

There, he noticed some familiar faces. A small blonde warrior which had asked him to join his team, smiling as he nodded to the man's request. However, what he was hearing wasn't as planned. He stood there in a soldier's form, looking with a straight face as the instructor told the details. He remained there, his eyes showing a determination of sorts along with bravery as he stood like a pillar, emotionless and mammoth.

When everyone entered the dining area, Air looked around for a place to sit. She grabbed a banana and a plate of toast and eggs, but she wasn't really hungry. Placing her headphones onto her head, she listened to music and ate her food quietly. Looking around, she noticed some familiar faces, but she still didn't know anyone here. Today's the day. She thought to herself.

When she was done with her toast and eggs, she got up to place her dishes in the designated area. While walking to it, she finished the other half of her banana, then threw the peal away in the trash. Air turned up her music as she waited for further instruction. People seemed to be just as anxious as she was to figure out their teams. Word has been buzzing about it all day. Everyone seemed to have some sort of plan. Air just hoped to find a good fighter.

As Ozpin gave the briefing for the exercise, Michael slid his sunglasses on and figured out his landing strategy. When he launched, he aimed for the treetops. Michael kicked against one, sending him flying forward and decreasing his momentum. When he landed, he rolled and drew his rifle, scanning around for threats. Finding none, he moved out, searching for a partner.

Lara listened to the explanation, all the while grabbing both of her weapons and readying herself for the drop. She could hear the springs on the other launch pads go off, and saw people flying off into the woods. She bent her knees a bit more, and launched forward. As soon as she got to a certain place, Lara curled her body inwards and dropped like a stone to the ground beneath. Right before impact, she uncurled her body, hit the ground rolling, and calmly stood up and continued walking. Her back would definitely bruise, but at least she didn't get smushed into a pile of girl on the forest floor.

Hector's face remained like stone, nodding as Ozpin finished his briefing. Then, he saw where they stood, leaving from the ground the soldiers flew one by one. Hector's heart skipped a beat, but soon he managed to calm down as he crouched into a stance. Then, he stood no more, as he soared through the air. Within the height he had, he extended his arms, feeling the wind through the slots in his armor as he smiled softly. Then, he looked to the oncoming ground, changing his legs as he stretched a fist into the air, slamming it into the dirt. A small explosion occured where his knee, foot, and fist landed, small bits of rubble around the limbs. He rose from his taken knee, reaching behind him as he grabbed his shield in his right arm and marched onward, gazing through the slot it held.

Being one of the first to go soaring into the sky, air smiled to herself. She grabbed her twin hooks and quickly hooked herself from tree branch to tree branch once she got close enough. She tried to aim herself more for the middle of the forest. Finally, she jumped down from the tree tops and began walking around the forest. She kept her twin hook blades close to her arms, her hand guns ready to take action if needed.

She knew that she had to meet up with someone. Find a partner. As she walked around she wondered who her partner would be. A flash of white when by and Air remembered the one girl with white hair that was really snobby to the blonde boy earlier. Air shook her head, "I wouldn't be able to handle that." She said, and continued walking. Eventually that girl found her partner. They didn't seem to get along either, and Air was began getting happy with her choice. They didn't seem to work together though, Air noticed as the began to get attacked by Beo wolves. Air decided to stay close in case they ended up needing help. Of course, the white hair girl ended up causing the forest to be exposed in fire. And the girl in a red cape cut down a few trees. Air rolled her eyes.

When the girls seemed out of ear shot, Air whistled, gaining the sights of the beowolves. She used some of her dust to create an explosion. This caused the Beowolves to run away from the fire. "Better fight that way, wouldn't want them to injure themselves." She said to herself, following the running beowolves.

Michael turned, hearing an explosion. In the distance, he saw a tree go up in flames, and the cries of several Beowulfs. Bracing for a fight, he raised his rifle in the direction of the blast. Five came out of the bushes, snarling at him. And as one, they charged. Ice blue tracers from Michael's rifle cut one down, and wounded a second and third. He switched the rifle to a sword, and stood in the middle of a Beowulf kill zone.

Smiling at her explosion, Air cleaned off her blades. She had taken down two Beowolves after two girls had run away from their own mess. Suddenly, they all that was left ran from her. "Oh come on!" She said, then heard gunfire. "Sounds like someone needs help!" She said, hooking herself to some of the tree branches and flinging herself forward from tree to tree. Finally meeting up with the Beowolves, Air found a boy right in the middle. "Typical." She said, then flung herself forward into the air, did one front flip, then landed just behind him. "Hello there." She said. You could hear the smile in her voice. "Lovely mess we are in." She said, crossing her twin blades in front of her. "I got this half, you get them?"

Michael was locked in a stare down with one when he heard the landing beside him. Instinctively, he turned to attack, but realized it was a girl, not a hostile. "Oh, everything's just peachy," he said, turning back to his aggressors. Then the monsters charged, on his side, Michael dropped, and as a Beowulf lunged at him, he takes his sword down its underside. Rolling quickly to get up, the other almost bit him, but a well placed elbow deflected the attack upwards. Switching the grip on his sword, Michael backhanded it across the monsters throat, decapitating the beast.

Smiling at the boy's comment, Air waited for the beowolves to attack. They circled her for a second, then two of the four in front of her pounced forward. Air scanned the area around her, then jumped in the air. Quickly, she turned her blades around, placing them against her arms to use her hand guns. She quickly fired, aiming for the heads of the beasts. One was hit in the eye, but the other shot had missed the second beowolf, which had now jumped up after her. Air smiled as she caught a branch of a tree with one of her hooks. Behind her, a beowolf waited for her to fall. Smiling. She placed one blade against her left arm, allowing herself to have one gun and one blade. She shot anothe, paralyzing the second beowolf's leg. While it was down, Air used some Dust to allow her to move faster. She pulled both of her blades together and crossed them. When she met the beast, it tried to pounce on her, but instead, she placed a scissor cut on its lower stomach.

"Nice work," he said, after seeing her finish the last one. Michael clicked the sword back into a rifle and reloaded it, scanning around for more threats. Finding none, he lowered it and said, "I'm Michael," he said to her.

Air smiled, quickly removing herself from the underbelly of the beast before it collapsed to the ground. "Hello Michael." She said, placing her blades in the X carrier on her back. She held out her hand. "I'm Air." She said, "So this makes us partners then yeah?"

He gave her hand a light squeeze, "guess so, Air." he said, looking North as he returned his hand to his rifle. "We should get moving."

Air smiled. "Yeah... Do you know where the temple may be?" She asked. Just then, a giant feather of a bird landed not far from them. Air looked up and saw something red and white attached to the big. "Well. Looks like I'm not the only crazy one here." She said, laughing. "I think we should follow that bird. They might be able to see the temple from up there and are heading toward it." She said, as she watched the red spot start to fall. "We should hurry too, cause that may have just proved my theory."

"Ozpin said it was North. I have a compass, if we need," he said. Michael looked up and saw the Nevermore, "that's a big one... Isn't that the girl who exploded?" he asked, before looking at air. "Lets go." he said, before starting to run North.

Air laughed a little and followed Michael. "That girl gets in a lot of trouble doesn't she?!" She questioned. As they ran, a few more feathers fell in front of them. "Well this makes things more difficult." Air looked up again. "Well, the girl in white just dropped." She said. "That bird seems ticked." Air ran beside Michael then. "Race ya!" She said, using some dust to enhance her speed.

Michael chuckled, keeping his head on a swivel as he ran. "It's a big Nevermore, fighting it will be fun," he said deadpan. Michael was slightly behind her. He could have ran faster, but was both conserving his energy and keeping his heart rate down in case they had to move into a combat situation.

Air looked behind her and smiled, "Oh yay! I have a fighter as a partner!" She Stopped for a second as another feather fell in front of her. She looked up at the sky, "I don't think we will be the ones fighting it. But I am sure there are other vicious creatures in this forest." Air stated, jumping up and over the feather. "We might get surprise!"

"Because there's a thousand things trying to kill us out here." he replied. He dodged around the feathers as he saw the bird fly off. He saw another flying sight... That blonde boy who threw up on the flight in. By the time they got there, the temple was empty of people. "Grab a piece," he told her. "I'll cover you." Michael dropped to a knee and looked over the forest.

Air quickly grabbed a piece, not really paying attention to what it exactly was. She smiled at Micheal, "All good!" She said handing it to him. "So, where do we go now?" She asked, not really remembering since she was one of the first one to get shot out. She looked around, then heard a loud crashing noise. "Was that a tree falling?" She asked.

"Likely," he said, seeing a trail of destruction through the woods. He wasn't going to follow that path. He saw two specks of movement at the tree line, human figures. He lowered the rifle and said, "we've got company."

As she walked, Lara slid her swords back into their sheaths on her hips. She was surprised she couldn't hear anyone else yet. You'd think a whole class or so worth of teenagers would be easy to hear, especially with her ears. Lara's hands found her way to her ears, and scratched them a few times to help them stay alive. Being under a hood for so long, they had started to go numb. Shaking her head a few times to stop the tingling, Lara moved on through the forest, wondering who her partner would be.

Suddenly, a faint roar could be heard bellowing, following by a louder sound of what seemed as a lazer. After a few trembling crashes onto the dirt, a large bear-like creature was sent towards Lara's direction. It crashed into the dirt, grinding against the ground as it left an indent in its trail. Out of the trees came Hector, his shield midway forming through to his sword as he raised it above his head with both hands. "From dust we came, and to dust we shall return." He stated with force heard in his Nordic accent, sinking the blade through the beast's chest as it lunged towards him, but soon ended his attempts with a faint breath. Hector lifted his blade from the ground, wiping it on the grass as he sheathed it on his back, not knowing he was seen by another as he walked to his right.

Lara jumped back at the sound, quickly grabbing her swords, then stopped as she saw someone else was already taking care of the creature. Her eyes scanned over the dead body, then up to the guy who'd killed it. "Hey… Hector, wasn't it?" She asked, getting his attention. Multicoloured eyes swivelled back to the beast. "Nice job on the Ursa, by the way." Lara said, sheathing her swords once again.

Hector swirled around with his hands up, looking to her with a shocked face, but then grew to joy. "Lara! Good to see you!" He said cheerfully as he walked to her, extending his hand to shake. He then turned around to look at the corpse. "Ursa.. so that's what it is called. They're all demons to me, so their position matters not." He said, but then looking back to her with a smile. "Have you a partner?" He asked with curiousity and expectation, looking over her shoulder for if anyone was trailing behind.

Lara smiled slightly at his happiness and shook the hand he offered. "I find I prefer to know the name of who-" She stopped abruptly for a second, before continuing. "
What I kill. Even if it's a simple creature of Grimm." She waited for a moment, hoping Hector wouldn't question her on her slip of the tongue, before trying to change the subject. "And no, I don't have a partner yet. And as it seems, neither do you." She half asked, half stated. Lara was relieved that her partner would be Hector, as he seemed to be a perfectly capable fighter, as well as a generally kind person. Hopefully her other teammates would be as well.

Hector looked down to her with a smile. "Hmm, yes. Indeed we shall be partners then?" He questioned, placing his other hand on the shoulder he shook and nodded. He lowered his hands from her after the small greeting, turning around as he pointed towards the path he headed. "We're heading that way, I had a good view of the landscape and towards there is the nearest clearing I've seen. As well as that, it seems..strange. I don't know, but something's over there." He stated simply as he looked back to her to join his side.

Lara nodded as he pointed in a direction and followed him, though frowning slightly. "Something is there…? Well, whatever's there, I'm sure we can deal with it." She said, unsheathing her swords in one swift motion. Her ears went on high alert as they walked, just waiting for something to jump out and try to eat them.

"I wonder what kind of Grimm are in these woods, anyway…" She muttered, half to herself. She knew about a few different types, but not a lot. "I just hope we don't run into any of the, uh, bigger ones."

"Da! That's the spirit." He said with a smile, looking down to her. "So.. What about yourself? That is, besides being a Faunus." He asked, smiling as he took a look at her head. "Marvelous beings, you are. I'm surprised that you get such an undermined judgement." He stated as if regretting his own bloods' opinion. "Bigger ones? Like... there are larger demons out here?" He asked in confusion.

Lara stopped dead in her tracks and stared at him. "H-how did you- The hood-" She stuttered, then calmed down at his following words. "I see… You are not the same as the other humans. I'm glad. Now I can take this damn thing off." She muttered, pulling the hood back and revealing her black ears. She sighed in relief, the ears twitching a few times as the cool air hit them.

"And yes, there are bigger ones. Much bigger. But I doubt they'd send a bunch of kids into a forest with Grimm of that size, seeing as most have only received a certain level of training. Not high enough level to take on Nevermores yet, at least."

Before Lara took off her hood, he smiled and shook his head. "Not even such heavy clothing can hide someone's true beauty." He stated as he gently ran his fingers along her hood, the tips of her ears grazed. He looked down to her, hearing her words as his smile began to fade. He sighed, replying with "Yes, I've seen a few members who still need training to battle against such titans. But something as a Nevermore? I cannot say I've heard the name." He stated simply with a shrug, not knowing that it was a mammoth hawk he'd seen his parents fight before.

Lara's eyes widened at his words but she said nothing, only nodded. Her body tensed at his fingers on her hood, but relaxed as he took them away.

At his comment about the Nevermore, she spoke up. "Imagine a really, really, impossibly big black bird. Now make it violent. That's the Nevermore." She said with a smirk, then motioned for them to continue forward.

After a few more minutes of walking, a loud squeal suddenly broke through the quiet of the woods. Lara jumped back, her swords ready for whatever would come barreling out of the bushes.

Hector remained silent for a moment. "Does it-" He broke out after a while of silence, immediately unsheathing his large sword as the blade hummed with power, pointing behind them with his arm extended, his face seemingly ready for combat. He heard more snorts and trots around them, his frown increasing as he placed the blade onto the floor, watching the wild as the shield turned into the titanic being of Falkrieth. He continued to look around them, making a circle formation back to back, hoping Lara would get the message as he focused on the surrounding of the clearing they were in.

Lara went back-to-back with him, her swords crossed in front of her. "Conversation will have to wait." She said as the first boar broke through the cover of the bushes, squealing and stomping at the ground beneath it. One by one the other boars entered the clearing, slowly but surely surrounding the two students. There was four in all, but that was before the big one showed up. A loud roar made Lara jump, her hands clenching around the hilts of her swords to keep from covering her ears. A huge boar trampled through the brush, around twice -maybe more- the size of one of the small ones.

Lara couldn't help but smile. "Heh. Second day, no technical training, pack of boars." Her hands tightened on her sword hilts again, and she smirked. "This should be fun."

Hector analyzed the setting of the battle, noticing the trees along with the pattern the boars traveled. "Have faith in your hands, and you shall build a kingdom." He said to himself, closing his eyes and breathing in heavily through his nose, exhaling through his mouth. He did this once. taking a large step forward as he swirled his shield around in his arm, the decorated stones of Falkrieth growing brightly as a small boar charged at him. Hector stretched his arm widely into the air, slamming it down in front of the boar. As it leaped into the air, a thick, white beam of energy almost the size of the shield itself was emitted, senting the boar into a tree behind it. The tree shook wildly as a snap was heard, and the pig went limp. Hector nodded, raising his body only to be knocked to the side by the larger one, his shield leaving his hand which was replaced by the beginning of the monster's husk, endlessly charging towards a larger tree. He had to act, fast.

Meanwhile, Lara charged towards the boar closest to her. It charged as well, and right before they would have met in a head-on collision, Lara slipped her body to the side of the boar and drove one blade straight into the creature's gut. It squealed and continued charging forward, but smacked into a tree and collapsed. Lara swivelled her body to face the clearing again, and noticed Hector being pushed rapidly towards a huge tree. She smashed both the blunt ends of her swords together and pulled both switches with a click. They shifted, quickly transforming into a bow. Immediately notching an arrow, Lara pulled back on the string and fired, the arrow flying across the clearing and embedding itself into the large boars thick hide. It wouldn't have done much damage, but it had the desired effect. The boar roared and stopped in it's charge, turning to look at Lara angrily, by doing so giving Hector a chance for action.

Hector used this opportune moment. He strained his legs, embracing the ground as he grunted. Shimmering rays of a yellow light were seen glimmering from his armor, but yet no sun touched his body. He gripped the boar's tusks with both of his arms, his entire body flexed as he grunted loudly, almost to the point where he yelled. The boar kicked and roared, snapping at Hector. But he was too far away. His face showed a pained expression, lifting the boar overh is head as he crashed it onto the ground behind him. He scurried up, stumbling over himself as he ran to his shield. The boar slammed its head against the ground, managing to get to its side then bouncing up, charging back towards Hector with its demonic squeal. Hector's blade formed, a swirl he made in his blade dance as he stretched it straight towards the boar. It entered the boar, continuing to charge until the tip of the blade pointed out of the boar's rump. He slashed it sideways, leaving a large gap in the body as it fell to the ground, himself panting heavily as he dropped his sword to look towards Lara.

Lara nodded at him before firing another few arrows at the other boars, then clicked her bow back into sword form and shooting forward. She hit the next boar running, but didn't get as good a hit in as the last time. The boar whirled around, one of it's tusks catching Lara in the side. She grunted, but grabbed unto the offending tusk and flipped herself onto the creature's back. It squealed and tried to buck her off, but her claws extended and she dug them into the boars back to keep herself on. Holding on with one hand, she pulled a sword back and drove it into the creatures back before jumping off again. It slowed down and started running in circles, like a broken merry-go-round. Lara backed up a few steps, her breath heavy as she turned to look at the last boar. It made a small squealy sound before bolting off in another direction. Apparently, after seeing it's comrades dealt with, it figured having both humans gang up on it would not end well for it.

Hector looked to the boar, seeing it spiral and then dash off. Hector's breaths were heard over the distance easily, limping over to her. "We..." He gulped and exhaled greatly. "We need to keep an eye out... these monsters don't know fear... They, They only hu-" He was interrupted, the direction the boar fled he stood in as he looked down to Lara. He roared in pain, falling to a knee as he was pushed forward. Behind him, the boar was seen ramming its tusks into the armor Hector war, an attack that could be seen to easily bruise his body, even under such protection. "Kill- Ahhh!" He roared in anger, rolling to his left before collapsing as the boar tumbled to the ground, Hector's eyes closed as his face looked like he was almost ready to cry.

Lara's eyes widened and she ran forward to help him. She got there quickly, and rammed both blades into the fallen boar, making sure it was good and dead. She then rushed over to Hector and tried to help him up. "You okay?" She said, trying in vain to lift the armoured warrior.

Hector drug his right leg up to stance himself, only falling back in pain with her. "Agh. Just.. Just give me a second." He whimpered out, looking back to Falkrieth, humming with power as the blade rested in the grass. He weakly pointed to it. "I need... I need Falkrieth." He stated. "M-My sword!" He exclaimed, looking to her with pleading eyes.

Lara nodded and went to get to sword. It was huge, but she managed to drag the blade over to Hector and give it to him. Her ears twitched a few times, both worried, and making sure that nothing else was out there.

Hector's single right hand grasped the handle, rolling over as he reached up with his other hand, sinking the blade into the boar. He pulled himself up with his sword, waving her to him for suppor. He pointed the way with his arm rested on her shoulder, walking with his sword as a cane as he limped. After a couple more minutes of traveling, a clearing, the clearing he speaked up before, was seen, and totems with missing pieces were seen. He looked to see feathers everywhere, his heart skipping a beat as his adrenaline picked himself up, walking with half a limp, waving her on. "Come on, come on. I wish not to see.. to see the hellbringer." He stated with a panicked tone as he reached for a white pawn, grasping it in his hand as he looked behind him.

Lara nodded and helped keep him up as they walked. Finally, they managed to get to the temple and get the relic. Which, apparently, were chess pieces. Lara had to admit, it was definitely an interesting idea. "So this is the relic. All we have to do is get to the cliffs now, right?" She asked, looking towards the imposing rock of their destination. "Wait, no. We still need to find our other teammates, don't we…" She muttered, slowly pulling her hood back up and over her ears.

Hector nodded, his face stern as he soon turned his head, seeing a pair as well who looked towards the trees, he started towards them, but groaned in pain as both his hands resided to his sword, panting heavily on the pain he endured once more.

Air looked at Micheal, then at the two other people. Another tree soon crashed. "Micheal... What do you think that is...?" She said, walking over to the other two people. One of them seemed injured. "Are you alright?" Air asked, then looked toward the girl. "I would gladly introduce myself to the two of you. But I have an odd feeling that something very dangerous is on it's way here." She said, then removed her twin hook blades from its X carrier. "If you are not alright, I suggest not over doing it." She smiled at the boy. "I have some dust to help your agility if you need it." Air looked at Micheal. "Ready?"

(Sorry if this seems off.)

"Now you confirmed it Air, something bad is going to hap-" he began, before a massive black snake appeared behind him, bursting out of the trees. Michael rolled out of the way, barely avoiding it. Around the rest of the tree line, another pair of black and white snakes appeared, along with the first's white partner.

Michael brought his rifle up and ran to the others. "Great, we're in a slithery situation... Give em hell." he ordered, starting to fire. At one of the snakes.

Lara nodded and let go of Hector to unsheathe her swords once more. "Yeah, something bad…" She said, trying in vain to hear what it was through the heavy fabric of her hood. Unfortunately, the bad thing itself came slithering through the underbrush and into the clearing. Okay, double giant snakes. Not so bad... No, wait. Quadruple giant snakes. She caught the new guy's comment, and rolled her eyes. "Really? Slithery situation?" She said, though smirked as she clicked the sword handles together and into bow form once again. She pulled the string as far back as it would go, and fired a few dust tipped arrows at the black snake closest to her.

Though not managing to pierce the snake's heavy scales, the arrowheads exploded with elemental colour on impact and made the snake hiss angrily and turn towards her. "Yeah, you're mine slithers." She said, before clicking the bow back into blades and running straight at the creature.

Hector looked upon the snakes with immense fear, moreso the white ones. "I..I will not take in such battle." He stated with an obvious sense of fear, but for what reason was unknown. "The... the black one.. yes. I shall fight that, but no-" He was interrupted by the white snake's tail launching towards him, Hector's hilt blocking the blow. He growled in anger, but calmed down as he limped towards one of the two black snakes. He managed to catch one of the serpents' attention, turning towards him as its mouth went wide open and launched towards his body. Hector made a very weak spin around, but his arms paid up for it as he slashed the bottom jaw clean off of the snake with his blade. "Come on!" He roared, launching himself up by the blade as he leaped into the air at a great height, the snake launching towards him as his sword was raised triumpently over his head for a blow. But, the snake was faster, smasking the top of his head into Hector's chest as they disappeared into the forest once more, grunts and hisses heard along with the shaking ground of battle.

Air climbed into the trees and watched as the others began to move around the snakes. She gave Michael a grin, then hung from on of the branches above a black snakes head. While she hung there, she whistled, causing one of the snakes to look at her. The snake she was above turned it's head, but did not look up. "Perfect." Air whispered to herself as the other snake began to charge toward her. It opened it's wide jaw, trying to grab hold of her. However, the other snake did not take kindly to his companion's actions and attacked. With the second snake firmly in the grasp of the first snake's mouth, it wiggled around trying to free itself. "Watch out!" Air yelled down to the others, flipping off of the branch and onto the head of the first snake. It let go of it's companion, not welcoming Air atop its head.

"Air, run around and lay down fire, give them something to think about," he ordered, "you with the hood!" he looked at Lara, "aim for their under bellies or their mouths, make those Dust shots count. Keep the big guy covered." he said. "Big guy... Keep tanking, just watch Hood's back." he said, turning to reload and reengage.

He tracked the snake that Air had baited, laying rounds into its side near the ground. The snake turned, and attacked him with snarling fangs. Michael rolled into the attack, landing inside the snake. Unable to bring his rifle around, he started firing, the rounds ricocheting around the exoskeleton of the creature, causing massive internal damage. When the Grimm stopped moving, he switched to his sword, pried the mouth open, and climbed out. "That... Is what a can of whoop ass tastes like," he muttered as he cleaned his weapon, then himself, off.

Lara turned to look at the new guy and nodded, her eyes flicking quickly to Hector to make sure he wasn't dying, before continuing towards the snake.

The beast lunged, but she slipped underneath it's mouth and jammed both swords into its neck. The snake made a strangled hissing noise and shook it's head, though only succeeded in slicing the blades lower down its neck. With a final pull downwards, Lara ripped the blades out of the creature and jumped back, hoping that did the trick. Unfortunately, the snake (though now actively bleeding) was still alive and hissing.

"Tch." She muttered, switching to bow form and firing a few arrows at the wounds, then one at the creature's gaping maw. It seethed and hissed, the fire in one of her arrows burning the sharp edge deeper into it's neck. The snake made a few more strangled sounds, before slowly lowering itself to the ground.

Lara walked up to the dying snake and watched as the light faded from it's eyes. She bowed her head slightly, acknowledging it's death. After a moment, she quickly moved on and ran back into battle to see how the others were faring against their foes.

Hector was too far away from the group for who seemed to act as the leader to command him, launched into the forest from what should've been seen by at least one of them. Hector was in the heat of the battle, dodging the smacking tail which left craters in the ground. He roared a triumphent yell, slamming his left fist into the side of the snake's head as it lunged towards him, sending it into a tree. But he did not stop there, no. He leaped towards it, the snake recovering as it lunged towards Hector, who had both his fists balled over his head ready to crash down on the venomous reptile. Successfully, however, Hector slammed the top of the snakes head, the skull caving in as the body flew into the air to land into an endless sleep. After many minutes, Hector was seen appeareing out of the forest with a hot, marked body.

AS everyone fought the snakes around them, Air ran around, jumping from tree to tree, shooting at any weak spot she could find. Open mouths, underbellies, anything. Eventually, everyone had knocked down a black snake and there was only the white one left to defeat.

Air wisped around the white snake, using her dust to increase her speed. "Hey there cutie!" She said with a slight giggle. "Keep your eyes on me!" She quickly jumped into one of the trees again, using her hooks to swing from branch to branch. The snake followed her, raising itself off the ground more and more as Air got higher.

"Okay guys! I have a plan. When it goes to attack me, I am going to fire rounds into it's mouth. You three attack the stomach. And... I may need caught when I come back down." She said, laughing a little. The snake opened it's mouth toward her, Quickly she jumped up above the snake into mid air. Nothing around her to hold on to. She twisted her blades around, revealing her hand guns and shot rounds into the open mouth that hoped for her to land in it. "Dear Lord. Please don't let it eat me!" She screamed and she shot more rounds.

Michael rejoined the fray in time to hear Air's damn near suicidal plan. He looked at the girl with the hood, "do it, open fire!" use shouted, clicking his sword into a rifle and reloading. He poured rounds into the exposed underbelly of the snake. Quickly judging her rate of descent, Michael ran towards the guy with the big sword. "Tank! I need an assist, can you throw me to catch her?" he asked as he ran towards him, strafing the snake and keeping his rate of fire up.

Lara whirled around when the girl screamed, then turned to the new guy while he quickly yelled a few things. Quickly switching to bow form, she fired arrow after arrow into the snake's stomach -the same places the new guy had shot- then did a complete 360 and fired once at the white snake near Hector. Her goal was to get the white snake's attention away from him long enough for him to help the new guy, and for them to catch the girl before she turned into snake food.
