Roseblack's new orders

The last comic section at the back of the 2nd edition DB book has Tepet Ejava and her grandfather.  Has anyone got any ideas to what her new marching orders would be?

I'd suppose they were either:

  • Occupy Thorns
  • Stop the Bull of the North
  • Retake Lookshy

I get the impression that whatever the order is, it's spelled, "S-U-I-C-I-D-E M-I-S-S-I-O-N".

Agreed.

I was thinking of setting a DB story around it, that's all, and wanted some ideas to these suicidal orders.

Given that the RB has been stationed at Sea for a while, as I recall, she might have been ordered to attack the Lintha. Perhaps they finally discovered where their home base is? (At the moment, that is..)

It's certainly a suicide mission. A population of Yozi godbloods with ancient weapons surrounded by a sargasso sea.

Um, has anyone else thought maybe those orders were "Come back to the Blessed Isle, with our blessings, your arranged marriage is waiting.  Love Mom and Dad."?  Just a thought.

Whatever it is, it most likely has to do with House Sesus, since Rafara warned Ejava not to come to the Blessed Isle specifically to spite House Sesus.

Another possibility?  "You have been chosen to replace the Regent."  That would be something.

The orders wont have been anything along the lines of returning to the Blessed Isle as thats what she was expecting them to be and she was quite obviously shocked by the orders.

My Theories

- Thorns

- Lookshy

- Gem

- "You're Fired"

- Something entirely new that we have no way of prediciting.

The last two are my personal favorites.

Since she's so popular on the Isle, I doubt they'd "fire" her. It would be much more politically advantageous for them if she died somewhere campaigning.

... or, if they could get her to do something that they could spin as "war crimes", or "treason", or somesuch.

For example, getting her to round up that renegade Legion in the south.. either she fails, and she's no longer a problem, or she succeeds and they can spin it back home as internicine conflict and treason.

Who, what, where? Which book is this from?

She received marching orders from the Deliberative.

I suppose. Given that she's commanding an army, "marching orders" can be quit literal.

My guesses are

1. Destroy the Bull of the North (hey the other guys failed, why not her too!)

2. Conquer Lookshy (Not likely, but one hell of a suicide mission!).

3. Retake Thorns

Could be any nearly impossible, likely suicidal, mission though.

Another possibility is that it's orders from the Deliberative to move against one of the other Houses, possibly Iselsi.  While the Houses and the Deliberative are entwined, they are still separate.  The other Houses could be using their bureaucrats in the Deliberative to force House Tepet to make the first move in the Realm Civil War.
