Roommates RP

"But if you have your watch on backwards, I bet life gets turned around." Jesse replied, "Sounds like blind people don't have much that the ones that see do, except being able to see, of course..."

Lexi laughed. "Yeah. You're quoting me now. 'I can do whatever you can...except see.' At least, I think that all the time. I dont say much." She turned around and followed the route backwards to her room. She wouldnt open the door now. "I'm hungry." She commented. "I'm going to find the food court. Want to come?" She checked her watch. It was 6:30, around her usual dinnertime.

"Sure, I'm kind of hungry too." Jesse nodded, "I think it's called a cafe, though, not a food court. Correct me if I'm wrong," He added with a shrug.

"So, what are your parents like?" Jesse asked while they headed there. He was curious to see how different it might be to be blind.

Lexi shrugged. "My mom's a nurse. My dad's a carpenter. They both work long shifts so when I come home from shhool usually there's something in the fridge that my mom made the night before. I heat it up. My mom put a dot that I can feel on the 30 second button on the microwave. I sat down to do my homework and around 7:30-8 they would come home. On days theyre both off we usually do something. I have a 7 year old sister Abigail and a 21 year old brother Daniel. He's moved away, but he still goes to college, studying science." She shrugged when Jesse corrected her. "It could be different things. I'm talking about the area where there is food. I dont know what I want yet. I'll decide when we get there." She pulled out her map, studying it. Then she tucked it away, nodding and extending her cane again

Jesse nodded, "Well, I guess that works... Sounds easy enough living, but then again, most things are easier said than done, and I can't imagine how you manage not to burn either the house down or your fingers. Anyway, after you to the.. Food." He waited for her to head to the cafe, though he was still thinking on the possibility... Was it a cafe, or a food court? The possibility of calling it the wrong thing had never crossed Jesse's mind.

Lexi nodded. "Yeah, it is easy enough living." She was slightly offended when Jesse said he couldn't imagine how she didn't burn herself or burn the house down. But she just shrugged. He just doesn't know. I need to tell him. She told herself. "I can smell when it's burning, and I'm not stupid, it's not like I go sticking my hand in a pot on the stove, I'll use a wooden spoon or something. It's honestly not hard, with practice and training and stuff." With that, she led the way to the food. There was a small cafe, and a food court.

Jesse face palmed. Of course she wasn't stupid. "Y-Yeah.. I didn't mean to imply you weren't smart or something. I just have no idea how you manage...to function..."

This wasn't going as Jesse had planned, but then again, things never went as planned. He followed Lexi, hoping he wouldn't make a bigger fool out of himself. His mind however quickly got off topic, and onto the food in the cafe and food court.
