Roger's Academy for the Unknown [RP]

She chuckled lightly at his answer to if he was still teaching the same subject, her shaking her head back and forth a bit as she said, “You are one of a kind Kibeth,” she paused and then added with a nod, “The finest kind of course.” She looked down at his pocket and bit her lower lip in thought, “Well I see you still keep pieces tucked away for snacks, always be prepared.” She mused aloud and tapped her chin for a moment, “What would happen if you visited the Washington D.C and had a sleep walking spell in front of the Declaration of Independence…” She shook her head laughing and rubbed the back of her neck, listening intently as she heard static coming down the hallway toward the library…it sounding very familiar.

She paused and kept her eyes on him, considering that he would most likely have a rebuttal to the things she had said, well unless he fell asleep again. He was yawning a bit more now so he just might pass out in the middle of a sentence but because of that he was a favorite teacher of hers’, him being somewhat of a goal for her ot become like to conquer her anger problems. He just seemed to be always at peace and relaxed no matter the situation, which she could not say the same about herself. She was now waiting to see who would walk into the library and if Kibeth would succumb to his yawns.

Kibeth raised an eyebrow as she gave him a situation only to laugh some more. “I would probably end up having the best meal of my life and never even realize it. What a shame . . . I will probably end up dreaming about that now for awhile. The dreams of America all on one document and signed by so many with their hopes.” Ahh those thoughts alone gave him such a cute and goofy smile. “One can only dream though, sometimes it’s best to leave it at just that a dream. One could get into a lot of trouble otherwise.”

The guy did seem to slowly be drifting off again never the less. He fiddled with his current book as if trying to figure if he could fix it. After all it was a library one, not meant for him to be snacking off of. His ears did pick up the sounds after awhile of another student but honestly it held him no interest. Not unless it dreamed . . . shame . . . the students and staff who didn’t sleep, did they even realized how much they missed out?

Syrus roamed the halls looking for someone to give him either conversation or food when he realized he must be a bit early or maybe late. Maybe he should just call the Head Mistresses name, she seemed to possess some sort of omnipresence and would be able to tell him what he should do now that he was here. He was walking past the library when he was seriously contemplating this. He heard an odd whirring sound that seemed familiar to him. Half of the voices in his head told him that it was nothing and he should just keep walking while the other half wanted him to look to see what was inside or who was. Syrus opened the library door a bit farther and relished the smell of leather and candle wax he recognized from the days he could not sleep due to the voices.

He had spent many nights here just reading and enjoying the fact that the voices were good for something. He always had some form of company or a person he could talk with about a subject on his mind. He and his voices had many conversations about reading materials over the past couple of years. Syrus snapped out of his thoughts when he saw a stiff looking girl sitting at a table reading a thick book about Quantum Mechanics, whatever it was it wasn't something he read about. He contemplated whether or not to interupt her when he decided to just grab a book and join her table. He grabbed the first book of good poetry he could find and sat next to her. He opened up the pages to one of his favorite poems and one that seemed to get a lot of attention in the human world, "The Raven" by Edgar Allen Poe.

Her eyes went to the doors of the library as a familiar student walked in, if she remembered right her name was DeMo…although Liz didn’t talk much to her, DeMo seeming like she preferred to be on her own or maybe the company of other individuals. There was often a weird air around her, as if she was not even supernatural…maybe an artificially created humanoid, perhaps an android of sorts. The only humans that would be capable of making something as complex as she must be would be found in movies, not in real life which meant that she most likely would not be from earth. DeMo made her way over to the section of the library that would be associated with scientific material, and as she did so Liz could have sworn that she was hearing a light buzzing sound attributed to machinery…it being a bit like low frequency static.

After DeMo entered the library and sat down another individual came in, his name being Syrus by which she was sure of. She remembered him simply because he made a bit of a ‘scene’ with his ever changing personality in school over the past two years, nevertheless she didn’t have a problem with him. Although he could get a bit annoying if caught at the wrong time, which could cause her to get a bit irritated but other than that it wasn’t a problem. He made his way over to DeMo’s table she was currently at, settling himself near her as he opened a book just as she was. Liz was not paying much attention at the moment but it was worth a casual glance in-between Kibeth’s frequent yawns.

She smiled lightly and turned her attention back to Kibeth with a nod, “Yeah defacing an important document by way of indigestion might be the grounds for a man hunt.” She tapped her chin for a moment as he looked down at him, it seeming that he was seeing if he could put the book back together. Liz shook her head and grimaced, saying in a thoughtful manner, “I think it’s a lost cause, perhaps we should say a few words?”

(Third years now huh?)

Yin turned to the source of the voice in her head, Yan looked excited and ready as ever. You would think that after all these years with a twin with looks identical to you one might get used to it. But even now sometimes it rubbed Yin the wrong way. She was her own person and did things her own way, and here her sister was with the same face yet making expressions that would be foreign to her own skin if she tried to match. It felt wrong to look into a mirror to see a version of you that didn't exist.

(Yeah...)

Yan could tell her younger sister was upset, if she didn't feel the uncertainty just by standing in proximity she would be able to tell alone by the thoughts sent between them. Words could lie and deceive, she knew this more than most, but it was much harder to lead astray when it was your thoughts being spoken sort to speak. Then again perhaps it was just the eerie bond the pair shared. Reaching around Yin's shoulder Yan gave her sister an encouraging hug as they approached the grounds.

(Come on, you know it's gonna be fun. Hey I bet we get the same dorm room as last time, I can't wait to unpack and fix the place up... again.)

Yin gave her sister a small smile at her exuberance. Yan was always the one for finding excitement in the oddest or smallest of things. Surly it was a good trait, at least majority their fellow classmates liked her company for reasons such as this. Yeah Yin realized how popular her sister was. She wasn't bitter, but if she had to put a word to her feelings perhaps jealously would be a decent fit. But that was the difference between the two. Yan must have noticed her spacing out because next thing she knew Yin was hearing her sister speak to her out loud. “When you're done with your daydreaming I'll meet you in dorm” she teased, as always not meaning anything bad by it “...or the cafeteria, depending on how long you slag behind”. Giving her sister a wave Yin watched as her mirror image ran off towards the dorms, finding solace in the granite of the walls as she slid to sit down and get comfortable, planning on relaxing and watching her fellow classmates make their own entrances.

DeMo glanced over to the person who sat down next to her, then to the book that he was reading. A book of poems? she thought curiously. She saw the one on the page - The Raven by Edgar Allen Poe. She'd heard of this one and had possibly read it before. "The Raven?" she asked the boy. "Isn't that a a bit of an... how shall I put this? Hmm. An over-rated poem?" she questioned. "Don't get me wrong, it's an amazing poem and all, but it seems to get a lot of attention in this place." she shrugged and then went back to reading the chapter about string theory. She flicked through the pages soon to find she'd finished the book. Read this one before, she scolded mentally. She quickly turned around and grabbed another book; this time on programming. She was going to program herself in a far more advanced way then Mirage ever did. She flipped open to page one and started reading at a fast and studious pace.

DeMo was soon at page 32; Knowing your circuits. She smiled slightly at this. I think I know my circuits pretty well. she said with a gloating tone - in her head that's at least what it sounded like. She slowed down and took this chapter in. In order to programme properly and avoid malfunction she would need to know not to kill herself.

Scarlet sighed happily and sat up, pulling her feet out of the water, her pulled her long back curls into a ponytail and stood up, she should practise her water skils, they were the only power she would use, she would never use her suggestion. Never. The first time she discovered it was when she was seven and a group of hunters had found her and were debating shooting her, she remmebered chanting 'please, leave me alone, let me be' and they did, as if they had entered a trance. She shivered at the memory and rolled her sholders, Thinking about when he first relized how much power she actually held. She could make almost anyone to anything, completely against thier will. She hated that she could take that away from people and not even give them a choice as to what actions they do. The water was the only power she liked.

She rose her had and a few drops rose from the clear lake. Scarlet smied and made the drops dance around her and then she drew more, slowly and made that join in, soon she was obcured my a wall of water, moving around her. She lifted her arms above her head and the water flew up, she made shaped out of it, A rose, fish, and a boat. She laughed to herself and put the water back, then she moved up the bank slightly and started drawing the water at the edge near her, like waved, she watched the water carefully. To most the methods she used must seem ubsurd, to others the water all seemed to blend into one, nothing to tel different bits apart. But to scarlet, everypart is different, you cant find somthing if you dont look. She focused on water, at the other side of the lake, and made it move forwards, towards her, then that would push more water forward, creating small waves.

She smiled at she managed to get the waves to touch her toes and she brought her legs to her chest and pushed the water back. Scarlet took her focus of the ripples and waves, and just looked at the bueaty of the lake when it was like this. They Sky blue water reminded her of those tropical island beached, the white sand beneath suiting the colours beautifully, the waves and the ripples made the light dance on top of the water and making patterns on the pale coloured sand. She stoped the waves and stood up one more, he walked into the lake a little, the water reaching her knees. She pulled her dress up, just enough so it didn't get wet, but she wasnt revealing anything. She then moved the water in a circular motion. Most people would tell her to get out, she could get hurt but as she was a creature of the water, even preditors wouldn't harm her, she was safe, at least in the water.

Kira finally arrived at the cafeteria, getting some food and taking a seat. It didn't seem like there were as many students this year. Or maybe it was just that no one was in the cafeteria other than a couple scattered students. She looked around as she ate, finishing quickly and deciding to go for a walk rather than going back to her stuffy old room and her stuffy old robotic roommate. She stretched, stood up, threw away her trash, and left the building, wandering around outside and letting the sun warm her furry fox ears and tail.

Flynne grinned.

"He tried to being operative words, although a few students have as well over the years. Just would have blown him and the lab to hell."

It was that simple in his eyes. He had trapped a lot of his things, it had been something else he had neglected to mention to Carmen, knowing it would just annoy her further. It wouldn't destroy the school, just his lab and everything in it. But that would be a lecture for another time. One he would rather have in those same quiet confines.

"Where are you sending me this year? So I know which broom closets to comandeer. And do you have any side projects you working on this year?"

Business as usual, it seemed. He was constantly working on upgrades to his shop, his work, the science lab when he was sure Carmen was distracted. It all worked out in the end, really, with minimal explosions and a few actual improvements, even. Like ventilation improvements, and it wasn't too hard to make glass safe for the nocturnal students to be able to get a tan in.

Syrus looked up at the girl who spoke to him about the poem and said it was over-rated. "Yes part of me agrees with you. But all of my different personalities are able to discuss the different possibilities of what it truly means without getting hostile with each other and i find that nice. Besides isn't any person interested in science reading anything about quantum mechanics a little bit cliche? I'm sorry that probably came out rude and that's not how I meant it. I am Syrus Varen by the way, third year, shape shifter. And you are?" Syrus put his hand as to claim a handshake wondering what kind of person this girl was.

"Hey Kid. Another year of the terrible two, huh?"

DD grinned a little as he poked her gently with the blunt end of his scythe. At least the snake was safely locked away, and he didn't think there was anyone with the abilities he needed to train them, comparative religion routinely descended to noone coming to class, and honestly, he was happy with that since it meant he could get more real work done. He didn't trust most other people to work on the grounds or the repairs.

"Keep an eye out, there's a wild naga loose. Fifty bucks if you can get it to me alive and trapped."

A grin crossed his features, swinging the scythe perfectly, not touching her but the grass would be cut around her. A strange skillset, and an antiquated one.

"How was the Vaycay?"

Kibeth only muttered to answer poor Liz, obviously he was back to sleep. He didn’t even notice the other two. Standing he started to try to cram the poem book he was eating into his pocket as well probably failing miserably pages filtering from it here and there. His body and mind going on even in his sleep. “He was a good man, a kind man, who was he again?” Well at least he tried to say a few words in that state.

Carmen frowned when he reminded her of blowing things up. “Yes I remember, once more I state . . . . ouch.” She sighed shaken her head only to laugh some when he asked where he was to be sent. “Both shop and science sadly. Science only until we get the science teacher in. Try not to scare off the new one IF we manage to get a new one. They’re getting harder and harder to replace with all the rumors of the old ones get.”

DeMo smiled, "I don't take it offensively anyway; I'm fine with being a science girl." she shook his hand firmly. "My name is DeMo#4085, I'm an android." she flashed him a grin. "Finally, another third year." she sighed with relief. "Found out who you're rooming with yet?" he asked. "I have a second year cat... thing. Think it's called a Kistune." she shrugged. The guy seemed nice enough to talk to. DeMo thought he was the first person here she'd actually had a conversation with that was worth having a conversation with in the first place.

She'd just finished Knowing your circuits. She sighed and got out another book that surprisingly wasn't about science. It was about geometry. The trapeziums and spheres and icosahedrons covered page after page of the book.

Yin glanced up, not too surprised to see the groundskeeper making his rounds, somewhat surprised he picked her to greet. “Stuck on that nickname huh... you know we apologized for the hitchhiker when it happened” It wasn't like anyone had been killed, sure the one kid ended up close, but they had been first years and hadn't really known much about their abilities back then.

“How big we talking?” a smile slipped through her guard pondering the majestic creature. Tilting her head some to the side as DD did his trick her expression became guarded once more when asked about her summer. Yin's mind went to that of their trip to the spirit world and when she responded her words seemed more distant. “Had a family reunion.” she managed, glancing off into the distance, wanting to think of other things. Turning to DD once more she would ask “How did a naga get loose on the grounds anyway?”

(Lol I don't know how to start xD )

The cold breeze whispered in Layla's ear, making her wince from the chill that spread throughout her body.

"So.. Cold." She murmured, touching the place where her heart should of been. She longed for the feeling of a gentle heart beat pounding underneath her skin. But that was impossible. She was a Banshee. A horrid, dead creature that wasn't meant to be alive.

"Couldn't I have been something else?" She would ask herself.

"A vampire? Or maybe even a werewolf wouldn't hurt.."

She almost couldn't bear the monster she was.

"Why.. Of all things, did I have to be this hideous creature?"

The sparkling red of Layla's eyes searched the hallways of Roger Academy. She wasn't exactly sure where to go, and she wasn't exactly in the right mood to ask for directions. Sighing and leaning against the cold wall, she looked down at her dog, Teja, who stared at her questioningly. She gently patted his head, and than began walking down the hall with the dog following closely behind.

"Its why I try to eliminate blowing you up. Unfortunately it doesn't always work."

He would let out a long, lingering sigh. His purgatory in shop was continuing. However it was true he was hard on the science teachers. A couple of centuries did that however. Besides, not one of them was worth it and Carmen knew he knew it. It just meant he had more work to do.

"Fiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiine. For you I'll teach science and shop until you can find a new shop teacher."

It was worth a try, she might even agree to it.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Oh, you will keep that nickname. Suits you better than the Tao. Apologies doesn't mean I didn't have to waste my time exorcising the hitchhiker back where it belonged."
DD had spent almost every time he'd seen them since teasing them. It was quietly fun for him, since it broke the monotony of the day. Besides, he was a little crabby most times. Added defense against kids sneaking out and meddling at night. A preventative measure. Besides, he was only allowed to torture them so far, and he hadn't ever reached the limit before his fun was spoiled.
"No clue, probably adolescent, so about eight, nine feet long in snake form. Little bastard knocked my baby girl up. No clue, pretty sure its a wild one, snuck in with the latest Igor. Nile crocodile. Watch out when swimming, Carmen said she'd let me have anyone who hurts it."
Syrus nodded smiling and grunted agreement about being fellow third years. "Who I room with? No not yet. I was hoping to becoem a dorm head but haven't found the headmistresses in order to ask. You see I have a problem with the voices of all of the people and things I have turned into and often don't have the same feelings about people from a day to day basis. On top of that I change the layout and look of my part of the room nearly every single day. It is rare I leave the whole room the same on a day to day basis. So it seems a good idea to get my own room. Also when I can sleep, I sometimes sleep shift, which can be a real danger to my roomates. I might end up a dragon in my sleep and that could be dangerous. Until I fully master my abilities I can't control that, I can't do partial transformartions of multiple creatures at once, and I can't gain the full strength of any person of creature. I only gain the full strength and special abilites of animals. Oh, I just realized I might be going on a bit long, I am sorry."
DeMo laughed. "No, no. That story was both logical and entertaining. And you turn into dragons, too? Wow, all I do is turn into a mechanical design of metal and circuits." she smiled lazily at Syrus. DeMo flipped though a couple of pages. There was a whole chapter on icosahedrons. They were hardly a shape to showcase in DeMo's mind. She put some hair behind her ear to stop it from falling down in from of her eyes; a battle that had gone on before but this time she'd actually won. She flipped the page. Triangular prisms now? Seriously? All they are, are 5 sided shapes! They barely deserve recognition of any kind! she thought critically. She shook her head slowly and flipped the page and sighed. She'd found the index of the book.
She skipped through that and then found, after the 3 pages of index, the blurb. She groaned slightly and put it back. She didn't want to read, but she'd stay here to talk. She sat back down and relaxed.
Layla stepped into her classroom, looking around at the people's faces. Most of them looked over to her, and than quickly glanced away. She could tell that the creatures around her, could already sense that she was a Banshee. Sighing to herself, she took a seat and sat down. The huge tan-colored dog sat beside her, panting heavily.
Her red eyes watched the teacher carefully, not knowing what kind of creature he was. She crossed her arms across her chest and leaned back in her chair.
(Can someone's character like.. Interact with mine?? xD I don't really now what else to make her do.)
Reg: (There LIP haha)
Reg was standing in the front of the class, him with an utterly emotionless expression upon his face as he turned to face the students as Layla entered the classroom and sat down. He made eye contact with the students and said in a composed manner, “I am Mr. Carmine and I will be your music instructor, or whichever other word you chose to use.” He walked around to the front of the desk and looked to a few students and then to Layla as he spoke, “Before we get started, No I do not know Casper and if he is a friendly ghost, yes I do feel as though I am home in a graveyard, and before one of you ask…no I will not posses someone of your choice if you ask nicely.” He paused briefly and smirked a bit, “All though I might posses one of you if you need more of a hands on experience with your work,” he paused once again and looked to the students in the back of the class as they were talking amongst themselves, “Ohh and I wouldn’t advise idiocy in my class, I would have to make you profess your love to a house plant.”
He sat atop the desk and smiled as he finished his introduction, “Now how about we introduce ourselves, it is only fair considering I just did after all.” He pointed to a boy that was a vampire, him fidgety as he spoke about himself…it appearing that he is a reclusive vampire. “Well that was informative,” he mused to himself aloud and looked over at Layla, “How about you? I can see that you are a Banshee, is there anything else you wish to add to that?” He tilted his head lightly and waited for the girl to stand and speak, him not seeing many Banshees recently other than those that he had already known from his early life back home. Reg was wondering which type of personality this Banshee would have, him having more of a ‘screw you,’ persona to himself due to his past although he could be nice if the mood allowed it.
Liz:
Liz listened to him muse to himself as he slowly drifted off into another slumber, the talk being fun wile it lasted at least. She paused for a moment and sighed, thinking to herself, ‘He’s rather fun to speak to, even in his sleep…such interesting conversation.’ She looked to the two that seem to be having an interesting conversation amongst themselves which she didn’t see the need to go and interrupt, her advocating on walking over to a shelf and looking through some books. She was across the way from them as to not disturb them, searching for a novel or something that would occupy her time more readily that staring at a wall for hours on end in the room of which she had not figured who she would be staying with. After much searching she huffed and simply gave up on the section she was currently in, moving on to another one a bit closer to the two of them.
A minuet or so latter she found a book on warfare and the intricacies of espionage, it seeming like a book that her father would suggest. With that in mid she moved over to the table next to the two individuals which she had not gotten to know in the past two years, her simply more involved in studying in the two years…every now and then speaking with some shape shifters amongst other people, but largely more into studying which countered he anger problems in those two years. Now however she did have more of a cap on such things so perhaps she’d have more time to actually get to know a few more of the students, time would tell she figured. As she flipped the book open she stopped on a chapter that described the subtlety needed to infiltrate, advocating a strong urge to be in the lower half and not draw attention to yourself with showy skills. She was not listening to them speak but it was rather hard not to pick up on their conversation, it would be somewhat like peripheral hearing.
Syrus watched as DeMo put the book back on the shelf and huffed. "It seems you can't entertain yourself with any one book for too long eh? I have that problem sometimes. Although I have the feeling your reasons differ quite alot from my own." Syrus liked the new girl he met, she seemed nice. At least most of him saw her that way, part of him held serious wariness of her and the possible dangers she could pose to him. Whereas the other voices all seemed to think that only time could determine what they thought of her. That was how most every person he met was processed in the recesses of his mind for the most part. As long as they were kind at first, part of him liked them, part didn't, and the rest couldn't yet decide. Only a few more years of training would allow him to get the voices completely in his control.... hopefully. Then his base personality would have complete control.
DeMo crossed her legs. "Well my reasons are that these books already hold what I know; yes, I get it, an Icosahedron is a 20 sided shape. You don't have to make a whole chapter about them." she rolled her eyes. She looked down and her scarlette locks draped over her face, almost looking like a mask of synthetic blood. She quickly flicked it back. She didn't like her human form, but stayed in it just in case she freaked people out too much. They couldn't call DeMo a monster. as they all were themselves. DeMo isn't only short for demonstration, but also for demolition; oh they could make so many nicknames out of that. Yes. Horrible, horrible nicknames. The thought rambled inside her head. The fact she had super-robot strength didn't help. Her eyes searched the building. It was quite large; larger than most libraries she'd been to.
Kenji pulled his hand from his pocket long enough to adjust his shades. Once content, his hand was pocketed once more as he approached the school. Last year had been something of a rude awakening, here they didn't go around playing favorites or going by class or anything that he was used to. But Kenji was one to adapt, after all Ryker had done quite well in his four years here and Kenji expected that and more of himself. So now that he knew how this placed worked he planned on thriving in this environment and showing his brother just how strong he was. All he had to do was focus on his strengths and surpass his weaknesses. Sure, piece of cake. Not one much for the sun and all it's brightness he made his way for the shade of the trees.
-----
“Cute” was Yin's response to the possibility of another nickname for her and her sister. He wasn't the first and wouldn't be the last to group them together, but at least he didn't do it maliciously. In a way it was somewhat playful, the reasoning behind that was lost on her. Nodding when he spoke of the naga, taking it in, surprised that he hadn't caught it yet with his seemingly vast talents.
(Yan... recall your fear of the scaled variation? Guess what's loose on campus)
Yin teased her sister who was most likely in the middle of unpacking and redecorating their room. No words came back through the connection, but even from this distance Yin could feel her sister's fear. She smiled, perhaps confusing DD, but then again they had been here two years and their connection came along long before coming to school, so perhaps it was something he was used to.
Syrus wondered what a 20 sided shape must look like. His voices each came up with an idea and gave him the imagined picture of what that might look like before he began ignoring them. "I either have complete silence as each voice in my head has come together and given me the ability to read a book in about five minutes, or they are all so noisy i cant read a single sentence. It is either a pleasure or a burden having them along. But two years from now I decide what happens in my head. So oh well I guess. Anyway, do you have any clue how I could contact the headmistresses and get the information as to where I am to room?" Syrus turned his head to the side questioningly.
