-- Headmaster Niaghril --

--- Location: Headmaster's Office ---

Headmaster Niaghril slowly opened the door to his office, stepping out into the vacant halls. It was so quiet on the top floor that you would hear a pin drop. Ichor, the black she-cat who accompanied him everywhere slunk around the door and peeked her head between his legs. She meowed, shooting her red eyes up to watch him.

"Yes, Ichor. Another year," he mused, leaning down to stroke her head as she spat a few acid-like marrows of defiance.

He grinned slightly at the cat and stood before he slowly picked his way along the hall, gazing at his reflection in the shined flooring. "Another year, hm?" he murmured to himself and turned to walk down the steps to the entrance of the school. The students would be showing any second. Ichor bolted off to find Vanessa, no doubt.

-- Vanessa Chernikova --

--- Location: The Academy Gates ---

Vanessa's blonde tresses flipped wildly in the wind, nearly enclosing her body in a curtain of sunlight. Her bright optics flickered about, taking in the school that stood before her like a soldier, admiring the wrought iron gates. There had been murmurs in the halls of a sixteen year old male student who had hated being abnormal. He had thrown himself off the roof and was impaled on the iron spikes. His fate was clear from the day he entered the school that he was going to die. He was determined to end his short life, they had said. She rolled her shoulder, eyes squinting slightly at a spot far away. She was befuddled because she swore she deciphered a blood stain imprinted on the concrete walkway. Picking this as a figment of her devious imagination, she ambled up the stairs and entered Riverview.

She was seemingly the first student to show, as always. Like the year before, she hoisted her bag higher over her left shoulder and reached her hand out to brush her finger tips down the silky back of Ichor, who had appeared out of no where meowed happily as she rubbed her head against Vanessa's leg.

"Privet, Ichor..." she breathed, her lips parting ever so slightly to show white teeth as her Russian accent spilled out. The girl then stood and looked around the devoid hall with bright torches in their slots, illuminating the dark marble floor. Vanessa pushed her white-blonde hair to the side, having little interest in waiting this year for the other students to show. She ambled sullenly through the doors and down the steps again, deciding she would go against the social norm and explore instead of gathering in the amphitheater like what was requested of the students. The black cat followed her loyally, meowing. Vanessa ignored her pleas for attention and found a little pond hidden by a large bush.

Vanessa dipped her slender fingers through the thin ice that coated the surface of the small pond, her index tip being the start of the cold water's lashings. Her flesh had begun to turn as red as the dust of pink that danced along her cheeks for the cold air but she kept silent and watched the glowing skin under the dark and chilled water with little interest or aim. She was simply bored and abused this by sticking her right hand into freezing water for no real reason at all. The girl was unmoved as the snow had begun to fall lightly around her.

Pieces of bleached bits caught into her obsidian eyelashes, hindering her view only by distraction. But the snow not only caught on her eyelashes, it caught on her dark clothing and light hair, littering her whole body with cold little drops of hell. She distastefully brushed off her shoulders and shook her hair after she withdrew her now red-bitten hand from the water. Her fingers felt numb as she observed them by poking idly at the cold, pale flesh. It was so interesting. Flesh that is cold. It had the same similar appearance as to being dead, despite the bright blue tint the skin got from being touched by the water for so long while lacking oxygen. Did skin need oxygen as well as lungs? No. They needed blood, and the cold was cutting off the circulation. She brushed a strand of hair behind her ear before picking up her bag and stood, wincing as her legs seized up; declaring war against her for moving after being still for so long without intention to free the muscles. "Ichor, do you suppose the students will look at me funny when they realize that I am student... and a professor?" She simply meowed and the girl sighed softly, a puff of vapor billowing towards the sky. Her fingers found themselves stuffing into the warm recesses of her pockets as she slowly made her way back to the steps, eyes downcast.

-- Hamish Illegilus --

---Location: The Academy Gates---

The gentle breeze which flew through the open air brushed past a Scottish individual indecisively, sweeping past him without predictive currents, dragging what loose clothing it could along with it. The invisible force fumbled through the boys sandy hair and grazed its undercut, shifting his hair with each invisible attack. A thick aviator jacket hid the boys upper body, the piece of clothing selectively larger in comparison to his thin lanky build. The fur of the collar being all that is protecting the Scotties bare neck, though his nimble fingers had begun to numb. The pale tips a delicate pink, his skin soft as a flowers petal whenever his hands would connect, the boy hoping that by rubbing his two hands together he would in some way heighten his heat as he trudged along up the cobblestone pathway towards the school.

The air surrounding him seemingly growing more tense and constricting as he neared the large castle like building. His eyes constantly involuntarily being dragged towards each faded window, may the rooms contents be hidden with the use of a curtain or not, with concern the teens soft blue gaze would inspect each one knowing that it would do less good then if he were to do without the task. The boys nose had grown to be a light shade of pink, plaguing him with the constant appearance of a blush a crossed his dotted cheeks. Trails of single speckled dots dancing over his expression, making an appearance from the tip of his
Rudolf nose and crawling over the surface of his cheeks before clinging to the patches of skin on the edges of his eyes and near his tangled hairline.

"The stars are falling," his soft whisper cut a crossed the creepy landscape although the old saying didn't make it far. As he nearly stopped walking for a moment, the nostalgic air hitting him like a hammer in time with each quiet pitter of his beating heart.

The forceful crunch of the withering leaves and twigs beneath his leather boots caused him to finally look upwards steadily, his slender nose reaching out a few centimeters before his face into the open air like a hand attempting to grasp an object unseen to his eyes.

Thin streams of snow which failed to stick to the porcelain skin traveled through the indents and ridges through out his faces smooth exterior, sliding though the crease which divided the beginning of his nose and the thin wrinkles beneath his eyes. But the small portions of white littering his expression had gone unnoticed for when he came to the realization of his slowing pace it was as though his body jolted back to life with new found determination to enter the building.

The boy neared the schools steps, his heart pounding intensely against the interior portion of his rib cage. The organ ramming itself within his chest as if it wished to escape his skeletons rigid hands, his heart deeming him unworthy and not wishing to be looked down upon for his constantly anxious and nervous owner who seemed to constantly be fiddling with anything his fingers could grasp. But he was so fearful, constantly so afraid of his surroundings. Of how easily anything within his vicinity could turn against him, both living and inanimate. With such a fear one wouldn't even predict that he'd take on such an education as he was now, a lifestyle which only resulted in either a sad lifestyle or an inevitable death. But of course Henry his brother had always said, a synonym to idiot was Hamish Illegibilus.

--Quinn Thorn--

---Location: School Entrance---

Quinn stood by the entryway, the palm of his left hand feeling his hearts gentle fluttering pattern beneath the warmth of his hand, the mitt pressed against his chest as he stood leaned against a walls edge with his arms crossed. A look of thought covering his expression as he inspected each student which approached their new home. His stoic glare softening as a familiar animal pranced past him, her black tail trailing Quinns lower calf as a single greeting before disappearing towards a familiar student the scientist had grown to know well. He wore a white button up, his sleeves crinkled as he had shoved them up to his elbows earlier. A grey vest which above his heart held the crest of Riverveiw academy. The distinct patterns which plagued his arm, a dark cream which contrasted against the clear vanilla of his normal appearance, the marks contorted the appendages surface the amount of the dark skin bulging above the normal surface of his skin though only if near would it be overt.

"Even though I enjoy my laboratory in its current healthy condition, I'll need to see her soon." Quinn spoke critically, his tired gaze following Vanessa as he made the statement to the Headmaster who he knew to be nearing him. "Pebbles recovered from last time," The scientists fingers subconsciously dragged themselves a crossed a healing scar which coated the surface of the mark he knew to be Pebbles. "And I have a new technique in mind to calm her."

--Kayla Marie Heartsilver--

--Location: School Entrance--

Nearing the entrance with small, shy steps to stop flowers from growing behind her, young teen girl Kayla made her way toward Riverview Academy for the third year. She was scared because she was usually always picked on. Pink, purple, and blue flowers would bloom from the cement behind her, through cracks and even making their own cracks. Her silky, brunette hair swayed with the warm wind as she wore a brown dress with fake, green butterflies attached to it and shimmering beautifully, as if they were all going to fly away. Her look was complemented with a small, green butterfly clip in her hair, and a pair of brown flats that she always wore. She couldn't go barefooted, even if she wished she could... Still scared, she kept her distance from the entrance until she knew no one was there. Sooner or later, her steps stopped, and flowers grew around her feet. She looked rather beautiful.

--Tara Bove--

--The Academy Gates--

Tara stared at the cracked leather seat of the taxi as they pulled up in front of a decrepit looking building. She glanced out of the window and nearly gasped. Nearly dead vines climbed the sides of the school and an overgrown fountain sat in the courtyard filled with what looked like tepid water. The taxi driver scowled.

"I don't know what you want with this here old insane asylum. Been abandoned for as long as I can remember. No place for teenagers."

Tara sullenly glared at him, and dug out her wallet.

"I'll be fine." She muttered as she paid her fare. She started to open the door, but a gust of wind ripped it out of her hands, slamming it open with the force of ten men. The rustling of the trees and howling of the windwas almost deafening after the cold silence of the cab. She tugged her duffle bag out of the car, and pulled the car door shut. Then she set her jaw and took her first steps into the grounds of Riverview Academy.

Disappointingly, two other people were already there. She might have to make small talk. A girl with black hair, bleached and died pink at the ends, wearing a long trench coat was standing near the gates. She looked very frightened. Another girl, with brown hair was standing at a distance from the entrance. Curiously, flowers were blooming at her feet. In the fall. At 50°F. Very strange indeed. Shaking her head, Tara straightened her back, gritted her teeth, and strode father into the court yard.

She wondered why the two girls had not entered the school yet. Were they not cold? Tara turned up her woolen collar and went to stand next to the black haired girl. She wasn't prepared to deal with the flower girl, she had not yet met someone with powers that were so openly shown. Clearing her throat, Tara spoke loudly to be heard over the wind.

"Erm, Hello. I'm Tara...Who are you?"

--Scarlet Carter--

--Location: Academy Gates--

Small slender fingers worried at the topaz ring worn on the gleaming silver chain around Scarlets neck. Light streamed in through the bus windows, the signs out side the clear windows a tell tale sign she was nearing her destination. Her duffle bag was neatly placed next to her to keep away unwanted seat partners. Her dark red curls pulled back in a pony tail with the occasional loose strand falling around to frame her pale face. The large building looming not far up the street was her reason for reaching over and pressing the stop button; untangling her fingers from the small ring that she treasured so much.

"Who ever pressed the button, hurry up and get off!" The older bus driver growled back at the few passengers scattered in the back of the bus. With a simple eye roll and her jeans scrapping against the worn leathered seats she moved to stand. Easily slinging the duffle over her shoulders before sliding her hands into the pockets of her royal blue hoodie. The moment her feet touched the gravel the doors slammed shut behind her, moving out of the way just in time as the bus took off once more. Sighing as she turned on the heel of her converse to stare up at the large familiar building that she liked to call home.

"Looks like this years gonna be interestin." The young welsh girl said in her southern American accent, a faint smile appearing on her pale pink lips. Crossing the street in a brisk pace as the sun gleamed down on the slender girl, her dark ruby colored eyes looking for signs of any other students. "Odd..." She muttered just as she spotted a few different breathing humans close to the gate. Just the mere sight of them caused a swarm of butterflies to attack her stomach with nerves. They aren't like them Scar, why is that so hard to remember? She thought to herself as she burrowed her hands deeper into the jackets pockets. Her shoes hitting the pavement in a rhythm, closing the space that had been left between her and everyone else waiting for the gate to open. Letting out a deep breath she finished off the space between herself and everyone else, eyeing each of them curiously before focusing her attention on the schools front doors. Biting the inside of her lower lip and counting each breath she took in the back of her mind. Does anyone else finally feel like they are coming home when they get to school? She wondered for a moment as her eyes picked up a light that came from a shining soul.

--Rebecca Rauchester--

--Bus Trip From Hell--

It was generally unwise to keep something, or someone, that gave off constant smoke within enclosed space. That much, at least, the Rauchesters have learned. Transportation each year back and forth from her home to the academy was always a long and tedious thing for both Rebecca Rauchester's parents and the girl made of smoke herself. Going by plane meant setting off the smoke alarms during mid-flight, and going by car left the risk of her being dragged out by the wind and tossed out of the car when someone wound down the windows, not that it hurt any to her. It left very little, and very pricey, options to bring the girl overseas. That was how it came to be that Rauch had to suffer a sickeningly tipsy journey across the large body of despicable, salty water that the intelligent man called a sea. Honestly, on retrospect, she would've preferred a sea route to the academy than having to sit in a bus, her entire body wrapped up in a thick coat to hide the fact that she was nothing more than smoke, having to endure the incessant banging of a child's feet on the back of her seat. It was strange. There were no other passengers in the bus, many other seats to pick to kick, but this kid and his mother just HAD to choose one with her sitting on it. Now, Rebecca may not seem to possess a brain physically, but it was clear to many people that she was the antithesis of the common argument of atheists everywhere of "If you don't see it, it doesn't exist.". She was very capable of thinking, and very capable of feeling very, very annoyed.

She pulled her hood closer over her white 'face' and turned slightly to gauge the situation. She could receive her recompense by scaring the ever living daylights out of the child, forever traumatising them, scarring their lives forever, until they finally pass from this world, never to see the darkness as anything but a malevolent entity. The mother of the brat was looking out of the bus, chatting with vigor on her new-fangled cellphone. She missed using those things. Alas, the lack of a face to place a phone against and other semantics dictated that she could not use one. In any case, it seemed that the coast was clear. She turned the other way, bending down slightly so she peeked out from the edge of her seat and waved to the boy that was so intent on putting a dent on her seat. The kicking stopped, and the ruddy face of the pudgy boy approached the ceramic white of hers, shrouded by the hood. He looked irritatingly cute, and cutely irritating, but mostly irritating, which was the defining factor of the moment. As any story-teller knew, suspense was key to delivery, so she went with that approach.

"Hhhhey, kid. Gonna ssstttop you from doing that. It's annoying." She wasn't going to waste time putting on her usual show today. She was nearing her stop, and she had already depressed the button. Besides, the boy will never meet her again after this. No point playing charades with him.

As expected, the child shook his head, and kicked her seat again for good measure. His mother gave an ineffectual pat on his lap, a weak attempt at discipline, Rebecca noted. The woman continued talking on her phone about the dreary weather, focused on the outside rather than on her son. Being made of smoke, and not bearing children any time soon, Rebecca could not sympathise. She turned her focus back on the boy. "You really like to kick stuff that don't belong to you, huh? But do you know who you're kickin' today? Not the riggghht person."

The boy shook his head, grinned a disgustingly adorable grin, his fat cheeks folding on themselves as he did, and kicked again. Time to deliver the climax. The bus was slowing, nearing her destination. She had to make the show of the day quick and effective. "I'mmmm giving you thhhhree chances, kid. Don't you da--" She was too effective, apparently, and the kid kicked her seat three times in rapid succession, as if daring her to do something. Rebecca cocked her head slightly. The hood slipped by a few inches, revealing the pale, featureless mask in the shade. Tendrils of black smoke creeped out, contrasted clearly on the white ceramic skin of the mask. Empty glass eyes of a mannequin stared at the boy, whose stupid smile slowly dissolved into one of terror. The black smoke grew thicker, stretching out from under the hood, peeling it back and revealing a mass of writhing ethereal tentacles spilling onto the floor, all of them reaching for the boy. With one hand, she grasped the mask and pulled it off, revealing nothing beneath it. "Hhhhhaaaaaahhhh haaaaahhh hhhhhaaaaaah. Assssss yyyyyou wiiisssshhhh." Her hollow voice hissed and rasped as she reached forwards with the other hand.

When the mother had finally responded to the boy's screaming, Rauch had already ducked her head back under the hood, and returned her mask onto her face. The pungent smell of human waste began to fill the bus. She straightened up and jogged down the length of the bus, apologising feverishly to the driver, who gave her an irritated look for delaying his timetable by a mere 20 seconds. The doors shut behind the girl, and as the bus drove off, she caught glimpse of the boy's frightened expression. She waved slowly to the boy, and she swore she saw his mouth open up into another cry before he ducked down into his mother's arms. She allowed herself a ghastly little chuckle before turning to face the looming building ahead of her. Riverview Academy. No matter how many times she came here, it never failed to steal her breath away. Oh wait, she didn't breathe. She gave a louder and slightly more intimidating laugh before shaking her head and stepped through the threshold between the giant gates. Pockets of students had already formed within, but she could tell, she was still quite early. Ah well, nothing but a refreshing...study of the new student population. Maybe haze some of the new ones with the usual scare tactics. She didn't have a face, but one can tell from her thoughts that she was grinning inside.

-- Alynna Chen --

--- Location: The Academy Gates ---

" We're here, Miss Chen," the woman in the coat uttered softly, breaking the girl from her trance. Alynna remained slumped against the car door, but her amber eyes blinked as she exhaled softly, fogging the clear glass of the window with her breath. " Alynna-" she started again but the raven-haired teenager nodded, casting her a sideways glance. " Yes, I know. I knew it the moment the car stopped," she smiled softly to herself, finally pushing herself up into sitting position. Her leather duffle bag rested on her lap, as it had done so for the past 5 hours. She had refused the woman's offer to put in the trunk, everything that mattered to her -well, everything she had left- was in it, and she couldn't bear to imagine how she would feel if the bag was ever lost. She pushed the car door open and climbed out of the vehicle, embracing the cold breeze that kissed her cheeks, the familiar frost that gripped her fingertips. " I'm home..." she muttered to herself, and the thought almost made her laugh out loud. Who knew that the only place she could feel at home was her school, she certainly hadn't, at least until-

" Alynna, " her thought was interrupted once again by the woman, and she whipped her head around to face her. " We'll find him," she said firmly, and Alynna only gave her a blank look. " Okay," she nodded, and added as a last note, " good luck." The woman only gave her a stiff smile before shutting the door behind her, and the car drove off shortly after. The sound of the car's engine hummed into nothingness, muffled by the distance that stretched between them. Soon, all she could hear was the sound of the wind's whispers and the incessant chatter coming from the mass of students congregating at the entrance. She adjusted the strap of her bag on her shoulder and marched through the gates that marked the entrance to Riverview Academy, the soles of her scuffed combat boots leaving bits of soil and rocks in the ground, flecks of darkness among a seemingly endless stretch of white. Only then, did she wonder if the woman in the coat had a name.

As snow continued to fall, the soft flakes fell upon her hair, creating a stark contrast against her long black tresses. Stars among a midnight sky. The snow clung to every surface they could reach, grasping onto the fabric of the dark red coat that fell to her knees. She didn't bother to shake them off, more would just fall into their place anyway. The melancholic structure loomed before her, yet the grandeur of it made her eyes light up. Shadows that extended before it seemed to wave at her, and she waved back, feeling silly as she did. " No use ignoring them either," she mused silently, they were, after all, the very source of her powers.

The clouds that blanketed the sky perked her up slightly, then again, there were hardly days when Sun seared the earth. The blue above always had a grey hue. It's what made her like the school grounds so much. She could spend hours outside without the need to shade herself from the heat.

When the Sun did make the occasional guest appearance however, she always found it more fulfilling to curl up in the school's library with a stack of dusty old books. Her eyes darted to the window of the library on the far side of the building subconsciously. That's odd, the curtains are closed.

The black velvet choker around her neck was starting to make her feel uncomfortable.

As she neared the front door, a familiar figure caught her sight. Standing at 5'9, the hooded girl was hard to miss. Alynna gave her choker a slight tug and focused her attention back to the smoke person. She had had a few classes with her the previous year, and she had found that Rebecca was one of the few people whose company she had actually enjoyed. She liked her ghoulish sense of humor, and it was always quite fun to have her around. She brought her hand up and gave Rebecca a wave, wondering if the girl would be able to spot her from amidst the crowd.

"Alright, you bastarts, quit yer pulling!" a rough, deep voice shouted and pierced through the awkwardly silent air. The boy's voice carried out into the air and a hint of a Scottish accent could be heard behind it. On each side of Ash stood men that held an iron grips on the chains clasped on his wrists. Both men were considerably large in muscular mass and it was clear they were with the Order of the Red Hood. They walked towards the gates of the academy and dragged him along. Perhaps some people saw this type of restraint as enjoyable, but Ash certainly wasn't one of these people. Already he bared scars of when he had been previously chained so repeating the act he once went through for months was making him angrier and angrier. But for some reason, Ash had kind of guessed this would be the "escort" that he would receive when he was informed he was going to this "school".

As to why he was chained was the product of a simple misunderstanding. Sort of. You see it all began when he was captured by the Russian Mob and thrown into a pit to rot. Of course, Ash wasn't the first person that had been thrown in there. Inside the pit there were already hundreds of men ripping each other apart for basic necessities. For a while, that's how things were in the pit. Killed or be killed as they say. Eventually factions began to form in the pit. Men split amongst themselves and allies were formed. Knowing this was the smartest choice, Ash also joined a faction. However, it was a faction of demons which was a fact he was not aware of. These demons were the reason the Order of the Red Hood were watching the pit in the first place. When Ash first broke out with his new found abilities and the Red Hoods found him they saw he possessed the same markings that the other demons had. He explained the situation when he was taken into custody and when everything came out to be true they decided the academy was the best spot for him. Even so, they still didn't trust him hence the chains.

"
Stop fer a moment! Gimme a cig will ya boys?" he asked the two men. The Red Hoods shared a look before looking back at Ash and shaking their head in denial. With a grunt of frustration he pulled on one of the chains only to be held in place. "Either ya gimme a cig or ye let me go so I can do it myself, aye?" he told the two men and once more they shared a look but kept their silence. One of the men reached into his pocket and took out a cigarette. He placed it in Ash's mouth and received a nod of appreciation from him. Using his abilities, he lit the cigarette and took a drag blowing smoke into the air.

-- Hamish Illegilus --

---Location: The Academy Gates---

----Interacting With: Scarlet Carter,
@Bubble ----

Hamish timidly approached to where he saw to be the other students, his hesitant steps echoing a crossed the small court yard with the use of the heightened heel on his boots. As his grasp on the leather straps of his heavy weighted back pack merely tightened, the boy becoming more tense and uncomfortable around other beings rather then calming his constant nerves. They stood in silence, one which would perhaps be serene and tranquil if Hamish hadn't been so intimidated by the older beings. As usual each were much larger then him, most commonly in height, for as he stood at five foot each other student near him towered over him. One would expect that Hamish would have grown taller and gain muscle from all of the different techniques he has attempted, but sadly no. Despite the amount of sleep he may give himself, or the many superstitions he so naturally followed the world wouldn't allow him to grow. And as if to rub it in, karma had made it so every other person grew to be tall and glamorous in comparison to him.

The weight of his backpack seemed to grow as time passed, the young fifteen year olds upper body swaying backwards on occasion from not concentrating constantly on the usually simple task of not allowing the backpack to bring him to the ground. Though his exhaustion came with reason, the thin wrinkles beneath the boys curious gaze having formed from many nights of remaining awake as he awaited either his brother or father to reenter their small cottage each morning and dusk as they had promised the previous time they had finally encountered one another. Although the amount of time which had passed since then, and the amount of hours he had sat awake through out the time frame in which the sky retired from its usual blue and grew older until it took on its most delicate and abstract appearance.

Meant nothing, for they never returned.

Hamish sucked in a soft intake of air, sniffling littering the actions process. May it be from the new found tears which brimmed his eyes or he had fallen to their cold surroundings as well and caught a case of the sniffles. Either way each breath he took through his nostrils was now plagued with gentle sounds as he stood their quietly, his blue eyes grazing the landscape and occasionally the surrounding students wondering if like last year a number of students would mistake him for an eleven year old visiting. Just as he felt the contents of his backpack shift, and his anxiety had been spiked as his head shot up before glaring back over his shoulder to see a small lump moving under the surface of his backpack.

At the sight Hamish attempted to casually back away from the people within his vicinity until he had neared a large oak tree. The roots slithering in and out of the ground, specific patches of green plotting the otherwise sleek white snow which clung to the ground. The Scottie held the numbing metal zipper which would open up to the largest sector of his bag, eyes inspecting what students were nearby to make sure no one was finding much interest in him before dragging the metal accessory to the left enough to peer inside. The source of his discomfort laying right atop all of the clothes Hamish had packed for his school, his wardrobe had always been simple and due to his lack of family he hadn't found the time to care to much about getting clothes, stressing more over whether he could afford food and pay the bills he had been left behind by family.

Hamish took in another gulp of the autumns trembling air before mustering a stern look at the thing in his bag, making the hole slightly larger and reaching inside gingerly to touch it. It's beady eyes caught what light had seeped into the bags contents, and reflected in in squares of light. Its white fur vibrant in contrast to its current dark and dreary surroundings. With nimble and tender affection Hamish scratched in between the animals large ears which the tips of cupped the sides of its adorable face, drooping around its body till it met the sweater Hamish intended to wear later below it.

"I forgot whether or not they allow animals here buddy, so you'll have to stay still just a little longer. Until we get to our dorm and-," Hamish had spoke in a compassionate whisper, his Scottish laced voice light as he attempted to shield what he was doing and seem as if he may be searching for something. Although as he was about to finish speaking, his arm retracting away from the interior of his backpack as suddenly a patch of white escaped the backpack, coming towards Hamishes face directly and connecting with it with rough claws before with even more pressure the forcefully pressing off his face as though it was a spring board and diving in the direction of the gates. As Hamish let out a surprised yelp of a high pitch, his soul reason shifted from concealing the creature to catching it. And he scrambled to his feet, his eyes frantically following the rabbit so he wouldn't lose it as he yelled.

"Lucky Charm!" Hamish called out to it just as he took a firm step forward, prepared to fall into a jog when he soon learned that rather then the ground he stepped on being a section of snow it was probably the single patch of ice in the courtyard, because why couldn't he be lucky for once? With a hand out stretched to his pet despite their distance apart he soon found himself on the ground, a sudden flash of pain lining his jaw as it had connected to one of the few sections not coated in snow. The fates were just going hard that morning weren't they?

As the Scottish boy gradually recovered his eyes remained planted on the animal as it skidded a crossed the ground playfully around the other students and sometimes between their legs, most definitely finding joy in being freed from its fabric cage. Hamish let out a groan as he pressed his palms a top the freezing ground and pushed himself up, the bottom of his chin scratched though only revealing a small scattered amount of blood on it.

"Ah, Miss! Miss! Her name is Lucky Charm but she listens to Lucky, can you quickly grab her for me? I-I'll be right over." Hamish called quickly barely audible, seeing as Lucky had come to a halt near a brunette who he could barely resist to not compliment the looks of. She seemed to have gotten into an accident at some point and had received a scar, but it barely contorted her expression. As Hamish could find himself seeing the bright fiery eyes that dotted her expression, their color mimicking those of a sunset and holding illegible emotion. The scarce light catching them as they as well caught the silver accessory connected to a chain around her neck.

-- Bonnie Gold --

--- Location: Academy Gates ---

Bonnie was sitting up eagerly in the passenger seat of the car. She twisted her golden brown hair around her finger as she saw the familiar gates through the ice cold window. This would only be her second year at the academy, but she couldn't forget anything about the building. Old, run-down, and somewhat eerie on the outside, like it was the set of a horror movie. She remembered the first time she walked into the building, she was so in awe that it could be so much different from what she had expected. It had been obvious to everyone around her that she was new at that point.

"Bonnie, you can't just sit in the car all day," her mom piped up from the drivers seat, efficiently snapping her out of her daze. "Do you need help carrying your things? Do I need to sign anything? Be sure to button up your coat when you go outside, it's below freezing." Bonnie sighed, of course her mom would be overly concerned. She wouldn't be a mom if she wasn't.

"No mom, I'm f-fine." she said, too excited (and slightly nervous) to answer each question individually. She got out of the car and went to the backseat to get her bag. She stopped at the window before she left, giving her mom a last goodbye before she drove off. She looked up at the large building, seeing other students arriving, many that she recognized from before. She could have stood there for a while, taking in her surroundings. She had seen it before, but it was still so hauntingly beautiful. It's size made her feel tiny- well tinier than usual.

But it was cold, and her nose felt like it was going to freeze. She began walking up towards the front door, but got a bit distracted by a couple of scenes. Someone was on the ground, must've tripped by the looks of it. And by the gates, there was someone being escorted by guards, who wasn't being loud, but had been a minute ago. She also saw glimpses of a small white piece of fluff hopping around peoples feet. That would've been enough action to be the most intense day of the year at any normal school. But this wasn't a normal school, and she was still getting used to the fact.

She looked around for someone familiar, to talk to. She hated not being around people, and not having people to be friends with. Although she couldn't stop wondering about the guy who was locked up. It's not that he looked like someone who would be nice and friendly, but she was curious. Why would you need to be escorted here, and in chains at that. She walked over to him, smiling a little when it became obvious where she was going.

"What's going on? Like, why the chains? Ju-j-just curious."

Eyes closed and the sweet smell she had missed over the summer held her full attention. The world still turned yet Scarlet felt like no time was passing at all, standing there at the front gates once more. Everything felt right, from the soft sweet autumn breeze rustling the leaves of the trees to her own gentle intake of air. She removed a hand from her warm jacket pockets, raising it in a swift motion to touch the cold silver chain. Another gentle breeze blew around her as a faint smile gleamed in here eyes. As quickly as that half smile appeared it disappeared along with the wind, just leaving a trace of the gentle look on her features. Sighing she glanced at her ring, laying in her palm catching the light of the early morning sun. Not much longer and school will have started. Time fly's. Its a shame that moments as quite and peaceful as this one don't last long. She thought just as a young male Scottish voice called out to her.

She turned ever so slightly on the heel over her well worn shoes, hand falling to her side as she moved.
Lucky? She thought before spotting something similar to the color of snow not that far away. Is.... Is that a rabbit? She thought slightly bewildered by the very sight of the small creature. She glanced at the boy once more giving a quick nod. Setting her stuff down with a barley audible thud next to the gate before moving to approach the small white creature. The soft crunch of grass and the occasional leave underfoot a nuisance. As if I couldn't be any louder. She thought in annoyance at the noise each step she took made.

With a huff of slight frustration with herself as Lucky hopped away from her once more, the distance between her and the front gates only growing. She sucking a deep breath the slightly cold air filling her lungs before letting that deep breath out, doing her best not to become aggravated. Lowering her self so that her knees were now touching the ground.
Hopefully Im not scaring the rabbit... She muttered to herself in her thoughts as she spotted the fluffed fur of the small animal. Keeping her movements as slow and quite as possible she approached the animal. Her worn blue jeans scrapping against the mushy earth below her, more then likely Scarlet was going to be dealing with stained knees later. Slowing to a stop she was barley a few inches away from the little one named Lucky, causing her to let out a soft breath of air.

"Lucky."
She whispered in a tone reserved for children and animals alone. She held out her thing slender hands motioning for the small animal to come closer. "I wont hurt you..." She breathed the words when the animal looked up at her, beady black eyes looking directly into her own vibrant colored eyes. Her heart gave a small flutter and her breath caught as the rabbit gave a small movement.

"Come on Lucky."
Scarlet called once more, the young girls southern accent becoming slight more prominent on the hushed words. After that although everything was probably quick the world slowed down around her. Luckys going to try and run again. She thought just as the thin pale hairs on her arms stood on edge, her attention entirely on the white bundle in the grass not far from her. Just as the small creature began to move she dove, capturing Lucky in her arms. "Bad." She huffed as she struggled to her feet. Turning on her heels she headed back to her stuff, leaning against the gate with the rabbit unable to escape from her embrace.

She turned her head to look for the boy who had called out to her causing even more hair to fall out from her hair tie. Im going to have to remove the hair tie at this rate... I probably look like a mess. Scarlet silently muttered, cringing at the very thought of what she must look like. Stained jeans, messed up hair, old shoes, and a well worn hoodie all possibly forming the worst first impression possible. Rolling her eyes she kept those disgusted thoughts of herself locked up inside of her mind, not seeing the point in speaking in the first place. She lowered her gaze to Lucky who was tucked into her arms, white fur obvious against the dark blue hoodie.

"You're probably a handful." She remarked softly to herself, waiting patiently for the young man to come and retrieve his pet.

-- Headmaster Niaghril --

--- Location: Amphitheater ---

The Headmaster grinned broadly at the scientist, before dipping his head in utter agreement. "I agree completely." He tapped his fingers gently against his arm before instinctively running a calloused hand through his beard, tugging at the sparse white hairs. "I am very interested in hearing this new idea to calm my granddaughter down. Please find me after the students have been dismissed from our welcoming discussion." He bowed slightly and then walked away, moving like liquid with his black robe swaying around his gnarled body.

"All students please meet in the amphitheater immediately!" His voice boomed like that of a microphone set on 'loud', reaching to all the students with the help of a gadget that hung around his neck. He had purchased it from the black market and it worked wonders when he had to address crowds. He flicked his hand and two white-suited individuals moved into their places by the door and swept the large doors open, holding them for everyone to enter. The Headmaster was the first to enter the large room, moving towards the stage. He seemed to have trouble getting up the steps due to his old age. He ambled towards the center, his eyes on all of the empty seats, awaiting patiently for all students to gather and find seats.

-- Vanessa Chernikova --

--- Location: Hallway outside of Amphitheater ---

Vanessa had little internet in hustling towards the amphitheater. She slowly made her way into the academy, her bag thrown over her shoulder. Ichor weaved between other student's legs and took up her spot beside the girl, who seemed to stick out in the crowd. She had an ethereal grace that held her body upright and rigid, unyielding to the stares she got. She vaguely wondered what looks she was going to be bombarded with when they discovered she was going to be teaching them all. Vanessa, trying to keep her anxiety suffocated, went to work to braid her long hair. Her fingers skillfully flew as they worked to weave the strands. "Hello," she murmured to a student who seemed a little to interested in the expressions that overtook the female's face. She wrinkled her nose as the younger scuttled away after greeting briefly. She sighed and dropped her hands to her side.

She was certainly not prepared to have her father announce her existence in front of the whole school. The thought made her legs shutter with weakness under her weight. She plopped down gracefully on a bench, leaning back to blend with the walls as the students filtered past her. Most of them hadn't noticed her. Ichor sprung onto her lap and merrily purred, her cold nose nudging at the girl's hand. Vanessa grimaced at the wetness and then complied to the needy feline but stroking under her chin, exhausted eyes observing each individual who walked by. She hadn't noticed anyone she had seen before or had taken classes with in the previous years so she simply remained bored, watching the crowd surge forward to the amphitheater.

"Ichor, ostanovis." Ichor seemed to hiss, even if she didn't understand Russian, she caught the jist of what Vanessa wanted. The she-cat arched her back in defense before launching off the girl's lap and racing after the students, attempting to not get trampled by their large feet. The black cat slicked her way past everyone and leaped onto the stage, bounding for the Headmaster who simply gave a disapproving look. Ichor meowed and circled his feet, her tail flicking wildly. Vanessa continued to lounge back, her arms crossed against the back of her head. She had no intention to go in right away, anyway.

-- Hamish Illegilus --

---Location: The Academy Gates---

----Interacting With: Scarlet Carter,
@Bubble ----

Hamish trailed the sleek top of his index fingers nail tenderly a crossed the bottom of his chin, skimming the broken skin hesitantly before a sudden spark of pain erupted from it. The occurrence being enough to press the boy to not to it again as he instead let his hand fall to his side to which it was instantly hidden away with the use of his aviators sleeve which was quick to envelope the pale pink tinged hand due to its large size. Perhaps if he had grown as his older siblings had he would be able to fit the coat but they had always been the ones to protect him along with his sister so there was never an obvious reason for him to truly step up when they were around, when you're the youngest you're sort've the one everyone just instinctively either gets mad at or cares for the most.

But it could have easily been for the reason as well that Hamish was such a weakling, where he struggled to bring anything in. Such as when he had been assigned the task of pushing their wheelbarrow full of wood over to their fire pit then put it away, it took him a time amount which neared fifteen minutes to merely get a yard or so ahead from where he was and that was after Henry his eldest brother had poured out the contents for Hamish and only given him the task of putting it back in the shed. All in all he wasn't the ideal choice for anyone who may be looking for a helpful thing during a physical event. Very sad, he was.

So when Hamish was watching the intense brunette chase after Lucky he couldn't hide his slight admiration towards her amount of power in physical strength. The girl seemed to know the direction of the rabbits course before it had even steered an inch in the direction, it caused the teen to wonder whether she had past experiences with animals or not. When he caught himself staring perhaps for a duration of time he straightened himself as he looked around hastily before turning around and grabbing his backpack, with the small amount of might he could muster he had finally thrown it back over his shoulder before he trudged in the direction of his heroine.

"Oh wow, Miss thank you. Thank you. Lucky has been in that bag for to long and I had been meaning to let her out at some point on our way here from Scotland but it was difficult to find times seeing as it could've been even worse if she had gotten out when I was on the bus. The bus! Imagine if that had happened, it would have been terrifying. A person could have stepped on her little head, she could have somehow flown out the window or a dragon could have somehow eaten her! Eaten her! But wow thank you for getting her, I know a lot of individuals who wouldn't. I'm Hammish Illegilus and I'll repay you at some point. Thank you!" Hamishes words had fumbled out of his mouth his Scottish accent seemingly more thick in comparison to when he normally spoke, it becoming more apparent as he drawled on, the last few sentences rising in volume until he halted and took in a gulp of the chilling air, every strand of his hair seemingly astray from the incidents before hand.

Then as Hamish was about to ramble on again about how dreadfully sorry he was, a new voice rippling with wise age fell through the garden signaling them to enter the amphitheater. With this new information the Scottie eyed Lucky sensitively before holding out his arms to the brunette,

"Really, I'm so sorry for causing you so much trouble. I imagine you don't want to hold Lucky after what she made you go through."

--Quinn Thorn--

---Location: Amphitheater---

----Interacting: Headmaster Niaghril----

Quinn closed his eyes softly before nodding in agreement with the Headmaster, it had taken much thought and participation from Wirt but he had become fairly confident with what he had mustered that may improve his chances of keeping his personal lab in it's current enjoyable condition. Not again did he wish to perform his studies and examinations within the infirmaries spare room which they would normally use for students they may need to quarantine until his room had been repaired once more. It had been one of his many centered tasks when he had been offered a year round dorm rather then a school year one, which made it possible to work within the lab as much as he would prefer.

The scientist bit his lower lip and pushed himself of the walls corner casually his eyes grazing each students with scientific interest. His calculative eyes spotting different numbers and words following each teen he could lay eyes upon, though they were blurry and still unreliable when he stood so far away from them. But he did not fret entirely for at some point each one would be soon within his lab where he would be able to do what he wished with reason, well nearly all of which he wished. Quinn trailed his fingers through his tangled amount of hair approaching behind Headmaster Niaghril at a safe distance knowing that the older man didn't enjoy people at his heels even though they seemed to trail into the shadows.

Once upon the stage the blondes eyes danced a crossed the room as it gradually was filled with different people, who held different abilities. Some faces new, some faces old, some faces anxious as others were burned, providing him with so many different scenarios.

--Tara Bove--

--Location: Amphitheater--

Tara watched as more students began to trickle into the courtyard. Most of the students seemed normal enough, not unlike kids from her home town. But a few stood out, like the student who was escorted, no dragged, onto the premises on chains. The guards were snarling at him and he spat something back at them. She watched as one of the guards placed a cigarette in the boys mouth, and a small smile grew on her lips. If there was anything needed to prove that this was no ordinary school, a guard giving a student a cigarette was it. Sudden commotion distracted her and she turned to watch a student scrambling after an escaped rabbit while crying out to the girl it was headed to. Amused, Tara watched the girl stalk the rabbit, almost uncannily predicting the things moves. Then she began to tune the world out thinking of the home she has left behind and the world she was about to enter.

Tara was standing awkwardly in the courtyard, hands shoved in pockets and collar turned up , when she heard the loud echoing voice summoning students to the amphitheater. Nearly sighing in relief at the invitation to enter the warm building, Tara brushed the light snow dusting her shoulders onto the ground and picked up her bag. The tip of her nose was numb and her feet were freezing in the beaten up Chuck Taylors that covered them, and as she walked in the building with the other students a wave of relieving warmth flooded over her. She paused for a moment and glanced around her, curious to see her fellow students. The steady stream of her seemingly ordinary peers jostled her but she stayed put, watching them flood into the auditorium. Strangely, Tara noticed a black cat weaving it's way toward the entrance to the auditorium. Intrigued, she followed it.

Keeping her eyes on the cat , Tara hastened into the auditorium, and watched as the feline leaped onto the stage, and
surprisingly headed to the wizened old headmaster. She had not thought the headmaster the type to keep a cat, and shook her head before scanning the auditorium, looking for a seat. Most students were sitting in clumps of two or three leaving several empty spaces between them, but Tara had no close friends, and so scanned the back row for am empty spot, far away from other students. Settling on a chair to the far left, She saunter across the theater, swinging her bag in her right hand. She wondered what this year in the school would bring and, as she settled in her seat she breathed a sigh of relief to be back in the place she felt most at home.

--Kayla Marie Heartsilver--

--The Amphitheater--

Still shivering like hell, she made her way toward the Amphitheater. The flowers continuing to grow, she had no idea what to expect. More bullies? Awards? A new year lecture? All of it was old to her. She wanted something new, something intimidating. Yet, at the same time, she wanted to stay with the same process, the one she was used to. Being an old member of the Academy, she probably knew it was going to be a new year lecture. Sighing, she started to push herself into the crowded area, letting her throat open and a small squeal escaping her rather fragile lips. Something about this crowd scared her. Maybe it was just too much people.

Shaking her head, she continued with her way inside, her brown hair swaying almost as if it was a dark and melted chocolate. Her head turning every which-way to check for any bullies, she kept her green eyes to the ground, her butterflies on her dress almost looking like they were flapping, gleaming beautifully and bringing out her eyes. She couldn't find a seat...!

"Shouldn't there be a seat somewhere around here...?" Her voice flowing through the loud crowd, she continued to search. Why the hell couldn't she find a seat? Where would there be a seat? It's full anyway. A lot of people she didn't know, other she knew by face. She knew the Headmaster well, and knew that the Headmaster was pretty proud of her grades. Although, she couldn't bring herself to talk to him at all. She didn't know why. "Please, someone, lend me a seat..." She was practically asking herself, her head still lowered so she wasn't seen.

Ash carefully observed the girl that approached them as he continued on smoking his cigarette. She didn't seem like trouble, in fact, it looked like she was nervous to speak to him. He looked at his guards for a moment to see if they had any problems with this moment of interaction. When all seemed well, Ash looked back to her and replied. "Bit of a long story and I'd hate to bore you, love" was all he offered in the matter as a loud voice boomed speaking to the students. From the looks of things, students were to report to the amphitheatre. That was more then fine by him, the large gates in front of him were starting to look a but too Hellish for his taste.

"Alright then, Hensel and Gretel, off we g-" the Scott began before they roughly pulled him forward through the gates. With another grunt of anger, Ash took a drag of his cigarette and let the smoke trail out of the corner of his mouth as they moved. For the first time, he thoroughly looked at the school before him. It was massive, as anyone could see, and its architecture was hauntingly beautiful. It looked a bit like a prison, but Ash didn't mind that at all despite his hate for being imprisoned.

As the men pulled on his chains to encourage more speed from him his thoughts were abruptly interrupted an they made their way into the amphitheatre. Already, students could be seen sitting in groups as the seats slowly filled in. In case a quit exit was necessary, Ash's guards sat at him in the back with one on either side of him. This annoyed him to no end but he remained quiet as he inspectehis surroundings for a moment as he smoked. Nearby him sat a girl with old, beaten Chuck Taylors which reminded him that eventually he too would need shoes for at the moment his feet were bare. Most would think this would bother him due to the cold, but he'd suffered much worse during Russian winters. On the stage stood a shockingly old man in Ash's eyes. This was so shocking to him due to the fact that it was clear he was headmaster and to be headmaster you needed great power. How could such an old man be so strong? He guessed he'd find out soon enough.

A bemused smirk slowly spread across Scarlets face causing her eyes to gain a strange twinkle to them. She listened quietly to what the young man, Hamish apparently had to say.
Such a sweet boy it would seem.. She thought just watching him as he talked, listening to him fumble over those words. He came off as a child but there was something about Hamish that didn't quite read as child to Scarlet. He isn't running scared so he isn't of the same year as me, at least I don't think he is... Though he seems familiar with the grounds so he isn't a first year or someone younger. She thought having lost interest in what he was saying until he said something about repaying her, the very thought caused her to sigh.

"Yes, very troublesome but at least nothing happened to your Lucky." She sighed, the smirk fading away a moment after she began to speak. She easily moved the rabbit from her arms to his outstretched hands. He's probably a year younger than me, but he hasn't been around as long as I have.... Maybe a second year? She whispered in the back of her mind still focused on the fact that he hadn't run from her just yet. Many students of the same year had grown to dislike her and her rough outer shell that was. "Oh, and yes, it would have been very traumatic in deed. A rabbit loose on a bus, what a sight that would be." She added sarcasm seeping into every word she spoke. Her eyes still focused on the young man she lowered her arm to pick up the duffel bag she had dropped earlier, slinging it over her shoulder with ease. The weight of the fabric against her back barley noticeable other than the odd feeling of fabric against fabric.

"Names Scarlet Carter. And don't worry 'bout payin' me back. You don't owe me anythin'."
Scarlet spoke, although being welsh by birth, she was raised in Texas and had gained the southern twang of the state. She pushed through the gate, walking backwards slowly knowing it would be best for them both to head for Amphitheater just as the Headmaster had instructed. "We should probably get going Hamish, don't want to be late for the big opening." Her voice was light, although with the normal hint of sarcasm and lithly rudness that was normal for her.

--James Jayfeather--

--Location: Amphitheater--

He slipped into the Amphitheater unnoticed, greeted with the soft buzz of the few people already in there talking. His steady hands placing themselves on the back of a chair as his sapphire colored eyes took in the room around him. He spotted the Headmaster in the middle of the room, inclining his head in greeting, though he suspected he would not be seen. After taking in the warm environment he headed for the doorway, going to greet students as they would enter. New faces and old faces, same old same old. He thought as a warm welcoming smile spread across his face. He greeted one young man as he passed him; and not to his surprise he was ignored. Although his presence was demanding if he wasn't drawing in attention no one was going to notice him.

"Hopefully this year goes smoothly.." James muttered, thinking of the times he himself had been a student and a rather boring one at that. As the teacher of paranormal history there was nothing to extraordinary about James, although certainly not plain looking he just wasn't someone who people thought much of if he wasn't specifically a friend.

When the girl smiled Hamish felt his own thin pale lips spreading upwards into his own large rendition of a grin, the smile crooked as dimples indented either side of his cheeks with joy for it seemed he could have a chance at perhaps befriending the girl before him. Though she seemed slightly familiar, though not her looks, no he knew this for sure that he hadn't ever intentionally spoken to her or seen her up close during his first year. But the type of aura she seemed to be permeating, what type of unexplainable emotions seemed to be tucked away within her seemed to morph with an unpredictable power and form her unique aura which he felt so strongly in that moment. It was recognizable as something he had sensed in a far off memory from last year.

Hamish was slightly hung up on the memory, his conscious attempting to grasp the information he knew to be leaking in single small droplets in the back of his mind. Although when the girl had spoken up allowing the Scottish boy to hear her tone he had been dragged form his thoughts, and allowed a few loose chuckles to escape him, wrinkles stretching from the outside corner of his eyes as he did so. Just as she had passed him the bunny, to which he gripped firmly within his arms, his left hand tucked beneath Luckys chest with intentional tenderness, the tips of his fingers nearly lost within the rabbits soft fur. As his right arm was wrapped around the front of the animal and set atop her bck to keep her warm and form a resting spot for Luckys chin to which she almost immediately used.

"Oh wow," Hamishes eyes widened slightly like an interested child who had just discovered something whimsical. "Scar...Let," The boy spoke her name slowly, each part of it as he worked on the pronunciation of the name. Then eyed the thin white mark which slid down her cheek, his head lulling to the side a little as his curiosity nearly caused him to question what had caused it. "Scar, like from the Lion King..." Hamish trailed off into a fit of light chuckles and brought a hand up to hide his gradual smile. "I'd say I'd wanna be Mufasa then but i'd prefer us to be friends so maybe i'll be Timon."

Lucky then suddenly trembled within Hamishes arms and from experiencing many situations like this before he knew quickly to simply unzip his oversize coat and placed the fluff of white within the interior of the coat, holding her from the exterior the pale pink nose of the rabbit sticking out from the top of the zippers beginning, visibly sniffing at the air perhaps smelling something of interest in the far off distance. But the sight only made the second year smile once more before rolling his eyes at Scarlet.

"Oh ya, while we're at it how about we call it important too."

After hearing the Headmaster's call and watching her -almost- conversational partner leave to do what he said, she followed suit. But not after standing in place for a moment, a little bit confused. She quickly changed her train of thought to the amphitheater and what was in store. She only vaguely remembered the meeting from last year, she was too distracted by the setting, and the realization that she wasn't just a normal kid- and nobody else here was. She picked up her walking pace so that she might get a good seat, planning on paying attention this year.

When she entered the ampitheater, she saw the people already there. She looked for somebody to sit with- the guy from before, still chained up, near a girl that she didn't know. At least not well- she wasn't entirely sure who everyone was despite trying her best to be friendly last year. She felt like she hadn't made a good impression earlier, so she looked elsewhere. Then she saw someone who hadn't sat down yet, seemingly looking for somewhere to sit like she was.

"Hey!" She called to the girl- her name was Kay..lie?..la? It had been a while since she's actually seen any of these people, and it's not like she was good at keeping track of names anyway. She decided to play it safe with her name as she walked up to her. "Kay! Do you want to sit together? There's a couple of seats left in the...uh," she couldn't bring out the next word of her sentence, but she used her hands to motion towards the back of the ampitheater. "The back!" She finally exclaimed, after a minute of trying to get her point across. She laughed at her struggle- mostly to keep herself from feeling embarrassed. She liked to keep moving on, and not to dwell on her mistakes.

Pull up your socks and dance, because the rest of the party's arrived. It was regretful that she had no temple to rub and no eyelids to shut, for the scenes from last year's opening day replayed itself again, now with newer faces, and in HD, too, as compared to the sepia version of the past. It was same old, same old. So many things happening at once, yet nothing was happening. It was all so interesting and fascinating, but its dullness far surpassed her expectations. There he was, the local attraction this year, getting dragged across the school grounds in chains. After witnessing this scene, and hearing his god-awful cursing and his ear-numbing accent, she had supposed anyone in the older years would have gotten used to his little circus performance, given that there was bound to be one scene akin to this every year. Well, not to the point of being dragged across the grounds in chains, but akin to it, if only in sentiment. Alas, everyone was and behaved like an onlooker to a car crash. "If it isn't them, they love the show.", as her father once said. He was right. He didn't mention one thing, however. He didn't mention that the people in some crashes just love to play up their publicity. They love the attention. They love their uniqueness. They also loved shoving it in other people's faces so they'd be interested. There were those who wisely sold their attention elsewhere, like wondering how fast grass grew at this time of the year. And there were the social gadflies, which had a grand population of exactly one. Well, as far as she knew. She might know of another person who would express disdain at these acts, but he didn't seem present in the crowd.

At this moment, she had a nibbling feeling that someone was trying to catch her attention. Just like a child nibbling away at a cookie, this feeling intensified until Rebecca removed her hood and took a look around. Her hair manifested, reforming into its ridiculous ponytail-like style as the air particles around her greyed and drew to her like ferrous metal to magnets. She turned slightly, and saw, in a sea of students, a sole waving hand. The owner seemed to be trying to catch someone's attention. Someone very specific, apparently. Rebecca recognised this young being as Alynna Chen, some other girl she had spent some lessons with. Both of them were connoisseurs of knives, so that was one thing. Other than that, their relationship wasn't really much of talk, as compared to the Smoke and the Mirror: Rebecca and a certain other character. Nevertheless, Rebecca found it within her cloudy heart to entertain her junior. The coat fell to the floor as Rebecca spiralled upwards, light fabric and her white face following her as she did, before descending down next to the girl. She landed, feet first, and slowly took her usual form: a slender figure clad in simple and light cloth, her knives crossed behind her, sheathed in a pair of belts. One hand clasping her mask, she straightened up and sat her face neatly behind her artificial locks of hair.

"Alynnnnnna Chhhhhhen." She rasped, greeting the girl, bowing her head slightly. "Ssssssorry I didn't ssssee you....eeeear...lier. Nnnno...eyyeesss and all. Hhhhaaaaaahhhhaaahh haaaaah"

"All students please meet at the amphitheatre immediately!"

She delegated to ignore the call. There was nothing better than to arrive fashionably late, other than arrive fashionably never. Or was that the other way around? It didn't matter much to her. She was going to be late anyway. Her mirror half was nowhere to be seen, and, while she didn't seem like the type to worry, she was doing just that. Whether Alynna Chen chose to stick around to make small, fashionable talk or make her way through the crowd of special snowflakes to arrive fashionably early (which was one step down from arriving fashionably punctual), it didn't matter. A smoke creature like her can be anywhere she wanted, any time she wanted. Right now, she wanted to be here, waiting for a certain someone. Alynna Chen was free to go, as far as she was concerned.

Taxi/The Academy Grounds/The Amphitheater(?) ---

Looking through the window of a taxicab Aaron yawned. The taxi drove fast but for him it wasn't fast enough. It was always like this, when he wasn't at school he wanted to be there. But when he was, he couldn't wait to return to his own home. The sounds that came out of his earbuds mixed with the warmth that came from the fan heater made him sleepy. Just when he started to fall asleep the obnoxious sound of a car horn woke him up. ''Wake up, kid'' The taxi driver pointed with his finger to the left and Aaron could see the gates. ''Don't know what you're gonna do here but have fun'' Aaron paid the man and quickly left the car with his bags.

The walk towards the school was stopped when a small bird landed on his shoulders. It first didn't bother him until he heard a voice in the distance. "All students please meet at the amphitheater immediately!" Aaron tried to get the bird off off his shoulder, but luck wasn't on his side. He decided to ignore the bird and he ran passed the school gates. He was about to run towards the amphitheater when he realized that the bird was still on his shoulder.

''Okay, listen and listen good. I need to go inside that building'' Aaron pointed to the building in the distance while still looking at the bird. ''And you're not welcome. So what I'm trying to say is'' The bird looked at him with it's small pitch black eyes.''You're leaving'' For a few seconds the bird and Aaron had a stare down. A sigh from defeat passed Aaron's lips. ''Come on! Just leave!'' Aaron pointed his finger to the gates. To his surprise the bird flew from his shoulder. But Aaron's smile turned into a frown when the bird landed on his finger. ''Echt waar joh?'' Aaron shook his head and placed his finger in front of him. ''Please leave'' Asked Aaron as politely as possible. ''Alsjeblieft ga weg?'' The bird still didn't leave. ''Well that's all,'' A light bulb clicked on in his head and a smile appeared on his face. Aaron started whistling a happy tune and hoped that he cracked the bird code. To his surprise the bird started whistling the same tune back. Aaron tried it again, and the bird answered with a happy whistle. After two more times the bird finally flew away. A sigh of relieve came from Aaron's mouth and he awkwardly waved the tiny bird goodbye.

He happily walked into the amphitheater and took a random seat. More and more people entered the room and the sound of chattering filled the air. The warm air woke up the sleepiness inside of him. Slowly but surely he started to fall asleep.
''Wacht, wat?'' The scene of the bird flew back into his mind And the sound of a mental face-palm echoed through his ears. ''What am I? A freaking Disney princess?'' muttered Aaron softly, while he wished in the back of his head that no one heard him.

''Echt waar joh?''=''Really?''

''Alsjeblieft ga weg?''=''Please leave?''

''Wacht, wat?''=''Wait, what?''

Do you have to write by location all the locations the character is in your post or just where they start?

Hearing the first part of her name, which made her ears ring, she turned around and saw Bo... Be... Bonnie calling her name. Damn, she hasn't seen her in while! Her eyes glistened as if Bonnie just gave her a cupcake, or a second chance in life. Still a bit shy, she nodded and pushed her way back through the crowd. A tall man accidentally tripped her, and she fell over, onto her arm.

"Ohff!" She made a sort of grunt as she fell, with a loud thud, and stayed on the ground for a few seconds, as if the floor was her home. She then sat up, holding her arm, and wincing. Did she just break her arm? No, that fall couldn't of done that much damage. Just a bruise, maybe a scrape. Still, it hurt like hell. Flowers peeking out from the ground, she kept a hold of her arm and stood up, just barely staggering her way into a chair, and went over to Bonnie.

"I-It would b-be nice to have a s-seat..." She muttered quietly and softly, still scared a bit of anyone. She barely knew anyone here, but she knew Bonnie. She talked to her a few times before, but they never really... interacted much because she would always run away. Her elbow just barely scraped, she looked at Bonnie, but not at her eyes, but past her head.

"O-oh my goodness! Are you ok?!" Bonnie exclaimed as soon as Kayla was within a normal conversation distance. It looked like she wasn't badly hurt, but it was still possible. The girl looked like she was embarrassed by her trip, so she tried to offer a couple words of advice. "Unless you hurt yourself, you've got nothing to worry about. I don't think more that a couple people saw that, so it didn't happen." She would've winked at the end of that sentence, if she had the ability to wink without looking ridiculous. Instead, she smiled and laughed a bit to get her intention across.

She hoped that her statement made sense to Kayla. To anyone that she knew from her hometown, it would- standard code for this sort of thing. But everyone here had such different backgrounds...she never knew if anyone here understood the
normal problems of being an average teenager. While she was going to the bathroom to avoid class in middle school, there were people in ridiculously dangerous situations. Ways of living that she never knew about, that is, until she came here and talked to people. Her biggest struggle at home was when she called 'mom' and the wrong mom answered. That's nothing compared to what other people have told her of their lives outside of the academy. It was really weird to think about, especially considering how unassuming most of these people looked.

She shrugged off those thoughts with a toss of her hair. She looked at Kayla, focusing back on the situation at hand. Upon seeing her distant expression, she went to catch her attention.
"Anyway, let's go sit down before there's no seats left," she said, starting to walk towards the empty seats she had spotted a few minutes ago, nudging the taller girl to go with her. She was feeling very optimistic about this year, and wanted it to officially start as soon as possible. Somehow her thought process led her to believe that her actions actually affected the time the new year speech would begin or, what everyone was really looking forward to, end.

She sat down on one of the not-as-comfortable-as-she'd-like-but-not-bad seats and patted the one next to it, a motion that had become little bit of a habit for when she wanted someone to sit next to her. It came from experience, she used to not communicate her thoughts well. So now she does her best to get her intentions across, more than once, just in case. She smiled a real smile, genuinely happy to be here, to be talking with one her friends for the first time since last year, and she was ready to learn what she needed to in order to control her abilities.
"This is going to be a great year," she said, more quietly than usual, but still loud enough to be heard.
