Personality: Mavis is curious, vibrant and extravagant. She speaks in a very particular dialect, generally pronouncing her words exactly, using larger, uncommon words and correcting people if they make grammatical mistakes. She finds that other species' amuse her with their antics. She isn't easily angered unless you know the correct buttons to push. She is willing to die after having been given the chance to exist and she believes hopelessly in fairy tales of true love and world peace.
Biography: Mavis was born in the midst of a large fire, hatching from her egg like a dragon or a caterpillar, stretching her wings to the new sky as though she were a worthy champion of the realm of fire. She, like most Asfe'kahl, didn't know her parent figures. She just had herself, her wits and her newfound abilities to keep her light glowing. Like a bird knows how to fly, or a spider to weave web, she knew how to make the flames listen to her, heed her words. She was truly magnificent to behold. She was sent to study at a school, a school which may not have seen the likes of her as of yet
Other: The asfe'kahl are a race of beings that some confuse with elementals. When breeding time comes, the parents mate, leave the egg somewhere warm, generally some place near thermals or in a volcano of sorts, and in a matter of hours, the hatchling is fully grown and ready to expand. They awaken on their own, and take comfort in the warmth. Any cold area and they slowly dim until they turn to stone. Water is, as you can guess, a weakness of theirs. They can communicate with fire, other creatures of fire, such as phoenix's and demons, and tend to be misread. They are beings with their entire bodies engulfed in flame, which generally is harmless to those that wish it. They can heat their inner core temperature to thousands of degrees above that of their natural temperature of 200 C. Anything lower than 180 C and they start to sizzle, they glow dimmer and slowly begin the decent into one of the frozen, the stone. They can remain in that state for centuries, Effectively dead until someone brings them a heat source. Douse them with water, they go into shock and need to warm up again, exposed too long, their flame may never revive. Being frozen is the death penalty among the Asfe'kahl. Once their bodies hit that 0 C mark, there's no going back.
As a defense mechanism, Mavis has learnt to provide herself with a kind of glamour that makes her look human.
Dislikes: Stupidity, sporty people, wastes of time, people invading her privacy.
Power/Ability: Disruption: Powers used in a five foot radius from Erin do not work how they are meant to. They might not work, they might work better, but they never work exactly as planned, and never the same way twice. Powers actively targeting her feedback to their controller.
Weapon of Choice: Any blunt instrument close to hand.
Weaknesses: Neither positive not negative powers work on her, She is physically short and weak.
Markings: Four studs in her left ear, six in her right. Five other rings. Three tattoos she doesn't show anyone and keeps covered.
Personality: Erin is a disruption. She never backs down to people she doesn't like, and judges people to her own standards. If you manage to meet a majority of her personal criteria, you'll have a loyal friend. She is quick witted but has poor emotional control.
Biography: Erin was born in the northern suburbs of Sydney, to a mother who ran a new age shop dealing with crystals and Wicca. She is an only child, her father shot through while her mother was in labor. She spent a lot of time getting kicked out of schools, with her poor impulse control and lack of willingness to work well with others she deemed unteachable. She was recruited to the school after an altercation with a new friend, a backpacker, got caught up in a fight with someone who turned out to be a splicer. The five foot girl had gotten the splicer to one knee when she was caught in a small explosion, somehow, that left her friend dead, and the Splicer studying her carefully.
Other: Even though she has not killed anyone at the school, she has a guard, to keep her in line as much as to protect others.
boys, chinese food, drawing, horror movies. Laney LOVES scary movies.
Dislikes:
cats, broccoli, feel good comedies.
Power/Ability:
Healing:
Laney uses her abilities to heal woulds ranging from tiny scratches and bruises to fractured skulls and broken bones. She is often mistaken for being able to heal the recently deceased when she cannot. With the exception of her being drained for the rest of the day, she is able to take you close from the edge of death but not from over the threshold.
Weapon of Choice:
bow and arrows. If she has to fight ( and she knows that she will have to eventually.) She prefers to use ranged offense. She is not very good at hand-to-hand at all so she has trained herself to be expert in archery.
Weaknesses:
Is terrible at hand-to-hand combat, Has a bit of a temper that doesn't fuel her determination awesome fire but instead, fuels her blind rage and causes her to mess up more fire.
Personality:
Laney is an odd girl who is not shy at all. She hold a very obsessive love for horror movies and, is often incorporating them into daily life with either quotes or, just talking about some of her favorites and, the whole rumors and legends about the academy only feed into that. She also has quite the temper so watch out! She gets frustrated a little easy and then it tends to go downhill from there.
Biography:
Laney had an okay childhood. She was an only child that was raised by her grandmother for most of her life. She never knew her mother and father and that was because they were too young to raise kids so they dropped little Laney off with her mother's mother. Well, that's that she was told by her grandma. She told Laney that they never visited because her father was "no good" and abandoned her mother and her mother was wanting to live the wild life so she just left and never came back. Laney was sad about this for a portion of her childhood but, soon came to realize that everything was okay because she had her grandma and nothing with her grandma was ever dull.
Laney's grandma was known in town as Madame LaBelle. She was a fortune teller who made her money by reading tarot cards and people's future. Her grandma was the real deal so she never has been one to tell the customer's just what they want to hear. she would tell exactly what she saw so she was often accused of being a fraud whenever her sessions did not go as the customer had wanted it to go so, often things would get violent and so the police were also over a lot. Like I said, things were never dull at Laney's home in LA before she moved to the academy after her healing abilities were discovered.
Laney's healing abilities were discovered by her grandmother one evening after a rather nasty domestic call. The customer was especially displeased with Madame LaBelle when she was informed that her husband had been cheating on her for years and she's flipped the table over in anger, causing it to fly into Laney's grandma and break her nose. In a flurry of worry, Laney pressed her hand to her grandma's nose to stop the bleeding when suddenly all the pent up energy that Laney was holding onto flowed through her and within second's her grandma's nose was completely healed.
Nickname: Shane, Caesar ((You know, like Julius Caesar))
Place of Birth: Born in Rome, Italy
Age: 15
Gender: Male
Likes: Martial arts, reading books, and his knives.
Dislikes: Anger, sorrow, hatred, squirrels.
Power/Ability: He has a sort of pre-cognitive ability, which allows him to see attacks directed at him before they happen, so he can defend himself. This lets him be such a great fighter. He can also move with incredible speed, and is strong despite his appearance
Weapon of Choice: His hands, feet, or his knives.
Weaknesses: He has anger issues and PTSD, a combination that makes him hard to work with. He also has fatigue issues, due to insomnia caused by his PTSD
Markings: He has a multitude of scars all over his body, all of them straight cuts, often with a knife or other sharp object.
Personality: He is not a very happy, outgoing, friendly person. In fact, he hates just about everything. He is always angry, and has learned to focus that rage into a more cunning form. But there will be points where he downright snaps, and you better not be in the way of whatever pissed him off when he does. People often pity him for his life, but he doesn't want anyone's damn pity. He doesn't need it.
Biography: He tries not to remember his past, because it's such a painful memory, and triggers his PTSD. From about the age of seven, his father became a drunken ass. He would beat Shane until he bled, and leave him there to lick his wounds. This continued until Shane began taking martial arts about two years later. One day, his father came home in another drunken rage, and went to go beat Shane, but he was ready. Shane fought back. That was one of the biggest mistakes he had ever made. During that short fight, he discovered his power, and he first experienced what true pain was.
That night, his father pulled a knife on Shane, and cut him up very badly. When his mother came home from her shift at the hospital, as she was a nurse, she found him crumpled in his room bleeding badly. She stitched him up, but was too afraid of her husband to take Mike to the hospital, or to leave with him. So for another four years, they endured. Shane learned to numb himself to the pain, and his mother would stitch him up.
When Shane was thirteen, his father found out his mother had been stitching him up, he flipped, and ended up beating Shane within an inch of his life. His mother had to bring him to the hospital at that point, and told everyone he had fallen off of the roof while helping his father re-shingle. No one believed it, but everyone liked Shane's mother, and decided not to push it. Shane still wishes they had. A few weeks after he returned home from the hospital, his mother came upstairs and told him that they were leaving. She went down stairs and began packing, and at that moment, his father came home, the drunkest he'd ever been.
When he walked in to see her packing her things, he began beating her terribly. Shane heard her screams and his shouts, and he rushed downstairs. As he looked in the door to his parent's room, he saw his mother's limp and broken body on the bed. His father had killed her. This woke a rage in Shane he had never experienced. Shane grabbed a knife from the kitchen and attacked his father, coming up behind him and stabbing him in his lower back, severing his spine. His father fell, and Shane fell upon him, beating the life out of his own father. When Shane was done, he held the knife against his father's neck. His father looked up at him, fear like he had never known visible in his eyes. Shane pressed hard and pulled, cutting his own father's throat.
After that, all he remembers is running, running, until he ended up collapsing outside the gates of Riverview. They took him in, and after a few days of recuperating, they saw him out in the training yard, doing things anyone normal couldn't imagine. He's been there for a year now as a student.
Other: He has a collection of special knives. He can use all of them with complete mastery, and can throw them with extreme accuracy
Eh. We'll do so. Just post it up and other characters might go up to you and talk to you. It's that sort of thing. Make your self obvious as well. Don't hang in the shadows or something. Example: Sabrina's character was just waiting in the hallway for someone to come along and my character happened to see her. It doesn't need to be for the other character to be close with yours to interact in the first place.
O-o Hm, It's not my thread so I can't say who can and can't join and everything, so I can't answer you SirDurrHurrHurr and AnnaWinters just as Ineffect said, just toss your character out there and have him/her interact with someone, my character Night is at the front of the school all alone cause he's a first year, maybe you can talk to him or something? Or post what your character is doing and hope someone jumps in and says something to him/her.
Doesn't our characters need to be accepted first? O.o Well, does mine atleast? (No idea if AnnaWinters and Sirhurrdurrhurrhurrdurrdurr have made a charrie that's been accepted in earlier posts or not, too lazy to look right this moment)
