So I've been considering whether or not to bother using the Ultimate Campaign system that allows players to own homes and businesses in a town. Since Sandpoint will be a major part of the campaign, there's an argument to be made that allowing players to invest treasure and time into the city - and gain ongoing benefits for doing so - could enrich the campaign significantly. On the other hand, I don't know exactly how much downtime the AP intends to give you, or how long your absences from Sandpoint might be when you must leave for a while. Additionally, this is meant to be a learning game for the newer players and the extra rules could overwhelm.

If you have no clue what I'm talking about, and would like to before you chime in, the rules can be found here: http://www.d20pfsrd.com/gamemastering/other-rules/downtime

While I'm setting the thread up as a poll, I'd strongly prefer you state your reasons for your vote, yea or nay, in a post so I can make an informed decision as to whether or not to implement the system. A clear majority will decide the matter automatically, but a split decision (3-2, say) will be more influenced by the why's and why not's.

I vote yea, as Sarzain's current goal is to find a safe haven to study in peace. As such, investing in a house in the town would definitely be something he'd do. In terms of downtime it's possible we'd have significant portions between the 5-6 individual parts which would normally be skipped over.

I'd have prefered to hear the all opinions of the newer players, but enough time has passed, i'd be okay with it.

Voted on not caring, but it's less the case and more leaving it to the others.

Just... figured I should vote regardless.
