Sherwood , while you are helping D., I have to ask you something very humbling.

I have been a fool.

Short version - Is there any way I could play Snowfall again, please?

More in a following post.

You are hardly a fool, my friend.

I would be open to a version of Snowfall, but you'd have to dial him back in level to be equal to the rest of the party, even as you add to him the various martial art powers and chi stuff that we never really got into in the other game.

Spoiler: Snowfall request. Long version.

I mean to replace the Spirit Host snake character whom I have finally found a name for with Kitsune. Snowfall not as a Dimensional Voyager, but as the Ley Line Walker; a very watered-down 1st level version of him.

If so, I request to keep three things from his old life.

First, please make him the same exact character he was. We rescued Athena, Terra's tlTerminators were dissolved for one reason or another everybody going on to happy endings.

Second, having now looked deeper into the Rifts/Mystic China books, I realize I have been short-changing Snowfall this entire time. There's a Mystic China referendum in one of the Rifter books says he should be a little tougher than he was.

Instead of having Automatic Dodge from the Snake Spirit host, he gets 3 additional attacks per round from being Kitsune P.C.C.. he is no longer naturally a mega damage being. He loses all Psychic abilities. I imagine changing his martial arts to having much of the same powers, but through a Japanese-only route like Aikido plus Zanji or something. But we get a Snowfall back!

Third, one item from his previous Aadventures only. His precious magical bento box, please - the gift he received from Terra's parents for looking out for her. Fresh tofu, tasty rice, warm sake, and the fond memories that go with it.

I'm sorry for taking up so much of everyone's time with, not only my original character, but now this selfish request.

What do you guys think?

What can I say? I've always had a sweet spot for Palladium in general (and Rifts in particular). And I've never seen a Japan game before! I'm amused that Ghost in the Shell is the inspiration for the pitch but everyone's playing a magical character.

I can't help but feel like one. All this time I've been looking for a new road only to find the solution staring me in the face this whole time!

Rifts! Japan! New game! But it was only when I told my beloved Kaerri that we were playing a new game, did she help me find the answer. She asked me, "Are you playing Snowfall?" And a Big Bright Smile came to her face for she loves The Foxy One as much as I do. I replied, "No," and that smile faded.

And only now do I realize I want that smile back. On both of our faces! Thank you for being so open to this!

Untrue. Two of our PCs are in this to play cyborgs. We have a third, our highly talented and creative Eonivar , who has gone back and forth from playing Tech characters to Magic characters. This game is a mix of Japan's magical New Empire and the Republic of Japan with all of the technological glory.

It would not surprise me if he changed his mind again. I just want Eon to find what he is happy with no matter how long it takes! =)

In our Pathfinder game, you had an NPC sacrifice a lot of levels in order to do some good stuff for the world. If we go with Snowfall being the same kitsune, I can go with the explanation that he and the other Terminators sacrificed levels and power to bring back the goddess from her curse.

Making Snowfall a 'little tougher' shouldn't be a problem, considering that he's being rewound to level 1 and losing his mystic tattoos in favor of being a Ley Line Walker.

I don't see a problem with the box.

Drawing only upon what's in my brain, and comparing him with my Snake Spirit Host (Sasaki Isumo), I believe he is a little tougher in some ways and certainly nerfed in others. But, I think he'll work out!

I just realized another benefit. He's canine so he possesses the nose of a canine. Part of her duties to track down supernatural evil right? I bet that'll come in handy somewhere. =)

He unfortunately like all Mind Melters cannot get Psi-Sword until 3rd level. But he does own a flaming sword that will be just as good.

Eon, your original Detective Ando sounded like one really savvy "gum-shoe." His backstory "felt" like a person (hell, the guy was even married and divorced. Good or bad, that's still pretty darned life-like to me.

What if... your Mind Melter guy was Detective Ando? A P.C.C. (Mind Melter) with the O.C.C. of Republic of Japan's Police Officer or even Ninjas & Superspies Private Eye? Would you think that would be fun to play?

I mean, here I am with a Kitsune Ley Line Walker with Martial Art Powers, Psychie's got a Kumo-mi baby dragon with super-Shinto Sohei powers, and we've two Ghost in the Shell-class Cyborgs possibly in the mix. Why not a trusted detective-become-Mind Melter?

I can hear it now (the following is just me being silly! Enjoy!):

There I was, down face-first on my own office floor. Outside, the dark haunting rain pummeled the cold city street. And there she was. She'd found me out, the double-crossing dame with the knockout legs and that demoness's smile. And now, she was coming for more than just some across-the-desk chit-chat.

"Detective Ando, you fool! You should have let my trail go when you had the chance. Now you know the truth and must pay. Typical human! You think you own the world! Well... now this beauty queen is going to steal your heart... and eat it as I watch you die! Bwa ha haaa!"

Dame, I thought inside. I knew all along you were behind the murders. But legs like hers made a man want to believe. Now you just played the wrong card on the wrong guy. She had the hourglass figure of a goddess but, like an amatuer, she didn't do her homework. I drew upon my hidden super-psychic powers and let go. Point-blank. Full blast. Blew her outta my window and completely out my office. Now it was raining inside as well as out. There she was. Out cold. Still beautiful. Still a demoness. And there I was, drawing my flaming sword and trying to light my last good cigar. Time to call the others and have her hauled away before she wakes up. Maybe this time, I'd even get paid for doing my duty for the city, huh? Rent's due soon, y'know. And who was gonna pay for my new window? Damn.

Just another crazy night in Hiroshima for Psychic Detective Ando. Oh. And, buddy? Maybe don't tell anybody about the "psychic" part, okay? Let's just keep that a little secret between you and me. I'll make it up to you. Promise. Besides, you know ol' Ando's good for it.

I am not sure how Ando could be older, divorced with a kid, and just now be developing his psychic powers though.

I kind of set up Ando already to be a Republic Government Agent already but if you all have any suggestion on how he got his powers and if Sherwood is good with me combining the Mind Melter RCC with one of the other OCCS (Police from Japan, or one of the other ones) I would be happy to make the older divorced Ando Oda a psychic detective police agent type. I would just switch out his skills and backstory. I probably would keep his Martial Arts and try to pick up his current physical skills so I would not have to vary his math too much.

Let me know any ideas you all may have. Otherwise I can go with the character I have in place now without issue.

Sorry to hear that your son was hurt. At least it doesn't sound too bad if it was only a sprain and not a break.

If you wish to do so, you can use one of the police occs in place of the skills of the Mind Melter.

Btw, Percocet is wonderful for back aches. Just saying.
