So let me get this straight: Dannigan is old like Sherwood? Should I increase the font size so you old fogies can see it better?

Yes, Psychie! However, I am proud of and very comfortable with my age. When my mother was having me, I was one of those babies that seriously wasn't supposed to make it. Imagine being pregnant at the hospital when the doctor tells you, "Don't tell anyone you're pregnant until it's obvious, because this kid is likely to be stillborn." Serious as a heart attack.

And I made it! For me, even with heavy everyday ADHD, life is good! Every year, a gift! And plenty of people have it much worse than me (take Killfire, for example)!

And one day, Psychie, you'll be here too. And that's a good thing! =)

As for being very close to Sherwood's age, I'm very happy about that too. Think of it this way. If we were any farther apart in age, we might have not attended the same high school. And if that happened, this? These games we've been enjoying for years? These wonderful memories and good times? They would never be. =)

Wow. I never knew that. I guess it is not exactly the fun trivia fact that you would share with just anyone.

Yeah! There's more to it than that, but that's all I'll say outside of a private Conversation. =)

I understand, my friend. Some things are best kept close to the vest.

Getting back to Rifts here, Snowfall's questions have two purposes - my little foxy Megaverse-messenger is trying to ascertain the dangers Terra's Team is up against while also attempting to learn about Jorge's tribe of Were-Jaguars (for lack of better name?) and how they think and use what resources the vampyr have left them.

To paraphrase Sun Tzu, know yourself and your opponent sufficiently and during 100 battles you will never taste defeat.

Hey Sherwood Sherwood , couple of questions: First off, starting with a new character - does one start at first level, or with a set amount of exp? Looking at weaponry, are there any MD weapons that go well with ma's? Things like gloves, claws, that sort of thing? Just wondering how to do damage stylishly...
Looking at the cknight, I'd probably want to get into close combat, so I need a way to get there. Looking at mounts, I prefer something like a robot horse - are there other rideable animals available as robots? I don't really want to go for mounted combat, more for ma, but when the cknight jumps off into combat, it might look a bit silly to have a horse standing around...

First, your xp would be the 38,600 that everyone has; I'm not going to cripple you by making you start with a first level character when everyone else is level 6+.

Depending on your character class and choice of martial art style, I would start you out with some sort of special weapon. If you go with the Cyber Knight, I might go with a holy sword, especially with you being down in the heart of vampire land. Cyber Knights can also use TW weapons, so that might be a option for you, too.

Robot horses are very much available. I would just have to figure out which book best stats them out for you.

First of all: Thanks! Pondered a few ideas over the last two days, think I'm slowly getting somewhere. Starting on higher level, I'm probably favoring the cyberknight - one of the appeals for the crazy for me is this slow, but inevitable journey towards madness, and that feels harder to get when jumping in right in the middle. I'm considering something like a quick-flex alien to get some of that speedy feeling in there; any thoughts there, Sherwood Sherwood ? They're very much geared towards combat, might be too much potentially; no idea, lemme know. Think I'd want to go for a more aggressive approach to fighting, jump right into the face of the evil fiends. Maybe literally - jumppacks kind of look tempting as a way to engage... more thoughts and questions coming up at some point.

I am not familiar with a quick-flex alien, so I don't know what they bring to the table.

Other than that, I am happy to help out! If you need any assistance with your Cyber Knight, let me know.

Silanon Silanon Looking at the Quick-Flex Alien, I don't see anything game unbalancing that would be a problem. That race is good to go.

Sherwood Sherwood Check World Books 11 (Coalition War Campaign) and 30 (D-Bees of North America) for Quick Flex info. =)

Edit: Cancel. My Internet connection just now made me aware of your posts. =)

I was originally hoping to be able to intro Silanon's new character before moving forward, but I suspect that it will still take him some time getting his character done, and I don't want to make everyone wait too long to continue onward with the story. So, I'll go ahead and post IC shortly, and intro Sil's new character when he's done.

So... what are we going to do about the Walking Fortress? Shaona was the only one who could pilot it, right?

Shaona is going to be staying with the fortress for now, and I'll NPC her once Sil is done with the new sheet.

Silanon Silanon , here is a repost from the Character thread for you to use for your new character.

When rolling up stats, use the following rules:
If your base Attribute is a 3d6 (normal for humans), roll 4d6, rerolling 1's. With a 16, 17, or 18, add another 1d6 to your roll. IF that last die is another '6', roll another d6. This can give you a potential of a 30 on an attribute.

For non-humans (such as an Anti-Monster or Atlantian) that has a number like '19 + 1d6', roll the dice indicated, but reroll 1's and 2's.

Here is the Master Skill List for those without books. Some of these skills are not applicable, and all choices are to be approved by me.
http://home.wtal.de/marcorubert/SkilList.pdf

Finally, everyone can get one rolled number at max. That can be an Attribute, ISP, PPE, MDC or whatever your character has that is determined by roll of the die. Let me know what your choice is.

If you select one of the advanced Martial Art styles, make the following change to them:

There are the following additions/changes to the systems.
1. At character creation, should a system provide the bonus "Add x to CHI," the character instead adds 1 point of M.A. per 5 points of Chi.
2. When leveling, instead of receiving "One Additional Martial Art Power" or "Zenjoriki Power," etc., the character adds +1 to Initiative, +1 to Strike, and +1 to damage each time they receive that bonus.
3. When leveling, instead of receiving "Double Existing Chi," the character adds +1 to Parry, +1 to Dodge, and +1 to Roll with Impact.

Taking a page from Pathfinder, I am going to allow you to raise one attribute point every THREE levels you go up. This increase can be on any of your attributes.
Use the OCC thread to make your die rolls for your stats. As far as the fancy martial art styles go, I would suggest (assuming you have the book) Zanji-Shinjinkin Ryu for your character. It is focused on swords, which comes in quite handy with the Psi Sword.

Sherwood Sherwood I have a question? I thought Sil was playing a Quick Flex? Their Attributes for P.P., P.B., and Spd are different than humans?
