Realistic or Modern Revenant Devotion

All Victoria could do was smile as Oliver stood up, now taking himself out of the oh so thrilling conversation they were having. The smile was weak, almost non-existent as she let her thoughts consume her while Oliver made his way to the bathroom. "Gracias," Was all she managed to say in response to his hospitality, and even that was soft and weak. Once she was left alone in the room with just his beloveds, she let out the deepest sigh before looking over at the beautiful pigeon named after her. Shit. She could feel her eyes beginning to burn but she was not going to let herself cry. Standing up, she walked over to Vivi one last time, touching her wing as the pigeon fluffed it out for her, Victoria deep in thought as she smiled down at her. "Bueno, que hacemos, eh, Vivi?" What do we do?

Walking out of his room, Victoria shut the door behind her, slowly making her way to the kitchen and living room where she tried to get herself acquainted to before making way back to the guest room that she would be occupying for a bit. Shutting the door behind her, she let out another deep sigh, closing her eyes as she stayed with her back against the door, head tilted back. Slowly, she made her way to the ground, hugging her knees to her chest as she hid her face between her knees, the tears naturally falling. She couldn't stop herself. It needed to happen. She knew she shouldn't have made her way here. She knew she should have left the minute she saw Ollie sitting across from her and Cody back at the club. This wasn't going to be easy. Pero necesitas una solida. We need a way out of this stupid city. Victoria let her thoughts consume her, the room becoming pitch black as she hugged herself tighter, the air becoming thin as it became harder to breathe. She didn't even try to get herself out of this one, she just let it happen. She didn't even hear her phone ringing, one call after another until the third try was missed. You'll never be safe, Nina. Nunca. Never.

Next Morning :)
Cody couldn't get himself to calm down. The only time Winter never answered was one, when she was racing, or two, when she was so far in her own head she couldn't even possibly fathom being in the present. He was naturally worried about his friend. She never called or texted him back last night like she said she would. He knew she was in good hands, Oliver really was the best person to keep her safe. It just didn't help that none of them knew what they needed to keep Winter safe from.

"C'mon Cody, relax. I'm sure she's okay. She probably just fell asleep the minute they got ta Ozzie's, man. Ya gotta ease up, dude," Julian said, looking at his friend as he watched Cody stare at his phone. He did that all night and now this morning? Man was going insane. Shortly after, a ding went off from both Julian and Cody's phone, to which the boys looked down at the message.

"Aye, Ozzie. How's the girl?" - Anthony

"Both of y'all needa shadup already. Coulda just asked Ozzie from the start, Dios." Anthony said, appearing in the living room both men were currently occupying, dropping down onto the couch. All of them ended up coming over to Anthony and Diego's place after a night full of drinking and partying.

Victoria didn't get the chance to make it to her bed last night. After the self-induced anxiety attack, she curled into a ball on the floor by the door, still in the same position as she was previously sitting in, knees to her chest. Last night was rough, not because of Oliver or any of the boys, but just because she was unsure she could actually go through with this. It killed her that Oliver didn't know it was really her, and despite her heart wanting to tell him so bad it was, her brain was winning this battle. No good would come of him knowing. She was just going to have to get used to this new norm, throw her brothers and father off her trail, and disappear all over again.

It was better that way.

Opening her eyes, Victoria looked around the room, trying to collect herself and take in her surroundings, a little thrown off by the new place. Groaning, she slowly sat up, back against the door once more as she sighed. "Diosito Victoria, get it together," She whispered to herself before standing up, stretching her back and arms as she walked over to her bags, beginning to grab a fresh set of clothes before going to shower in the connecting bathroom. So convenient. Letting the scalding hot water run down her hair and back, Victoria hummed as she savored the feeling, enjoying this moment by herself before she had to prepare to face the day ahead.

After about twenty minutes or so, she re-emerged into the room, towel wrapped around her body as she grabbed her phone, seeing the missed calls and texts from Cody. Shit.

"Buenos Dias! Estoy bien. I'm good, Cody. Sorry I missed ya last night. I knocked out pretty quick when I got to my new room." She quickly sent to him, throwing her phone on the bed before she began changing, throwing on some black flared yoga pants, a black cropped shirt and some white ankle socks. Before walking out of her room, she grabbed her glasses, something she was always supposed to wear but never did, and put them on. Her eyesight wasn't horrible, they were more like just for reading. She made her way to the kitchen, looking over what Oliver had inside it, noting the pre-made meals but scrunching her nose. She always preferred to cook for herself.

Humming, she grabbed the eggs, tomatoes, onions and bell peppers from the fridge, setting them down on the island before she walked back to the pantry, thanking God when she found some corn tortillas. She set them down next to the cold items before rummaging through all the cabinets she could in search of a pan, cutting board and knife. He's got to at least have those, right? Finding a pan, she pouted as she looked at it, having no luck with her search for the remaining items.

Ollie strolled back into his room, his hour long shower's steam billowing behind him, adorned with black sweatpants and fuzzy black socks. Rubbing the towel in his hair, he hummed, noting that Winter had left. Oliver threw himself on his bed, grabbing his phone that he brought with him from the bathroom. He snorted, a smile on his face from the message of his friend. He texted back
'She's fine, dumbass.'

With a pause, he added,
'She's with the Ozzie Meister after all 😜'

Anthony responded with '🖕'

Julian, 'More like Ozzie asslicker LOL'

Oliver rolled his eyes, setting his phone down, a relaxed sigh escaping him.

-

A vibration was buzzing against Ozzie's neck, a grumble leaving him as he rolled to his side. He sighed as it finally stopped... only to buzz a few seconds later against his shoulder blade. He groaned sitting up to check his phone with bleary eyes. The caller ID read, 'P-ass' Pa and ass hah... Oliver thought it was funny when he made it. "Shit!" He fumbled his phone quickly picking it up, "Yes! Yeah somethin' you need pa-.. boss?" Oliver heard a grumble from the other end, before a stern reply came from his father, "Check your emails for god's sake." Before the line went dead. Oliver sighed, ruffling his hair. That probably meant his dad had some new useless job for him to do. Well.. Oliver could always push it back.

With a grunt, he got up, stretching with a groan.

The tattooed man scratched at his neck, his body still lazy and heavy with residue sleep. Until he realized, he heard a commotion in the kitchen. He tensed, eyes open now in alert. Did someone break in? Was there an intruder? What the hell were they looking for in his kitchen? He slowly sunk in, ready for a fight since he didn't exactly have a weapon on him. Oliver was met with the sight of Winter, instead of a criminal who decided it was a good idea to rob him in the light of day. He felt his muscles instantly relax, a small smile spreading across his face. Right, he nearly forgot about last night. He ambled forward, a hand on his hip, leaning against the counter. "Mornin', Whatcha making?" If he was being honest, Oliver never really ate breakfast. Well, more like it wasn't all that often he cooked at home. Places to go, business to do, people to meet. He was a busy man. Of course, that didn't stop him from buying basic groceries. He eyed her ingredients with a curious tilt of his head, a few strands of hair falling before his eyes. Was she making an omelet? With tortillas?

Victoria jumped when she heard Oliver from behind her, gasping as she whipped her head back, cussing softly to herself in Spanish. She knew this was technically his home, but she wasn’t actually expecting him to be here considering he was who he was. She figured he would’ve ran out to take care of whatever business his father needed done for him. “Diosito, you scared the shit out of me,” she said, adding a dramatic touch with a hand to her chest before she fully relaxed and set the pan she was holding on the stove and standing up straight. “Sorry for all the noise. I’m just trying to find a cutting board and knife.” She said sheepishly, walking back over to the counter where she pulled out a drawer and found a knife. She supposed she could use the island to cut everything. Not like she hasn’t done something similar before.

“I’m making Migas. Ever had them before?” She asked her once closest friend as she moved once more to look for the cutting board, smiling when she finally did so and put it on the island. First thing she grabbed to cut were the tortillas. “Tienes hambre? You hungry?” She asked Oliver, cutting the tortillas de maíz into little triangular shapes. After that, she set them aside and began working on the bell peppers, dicing them up before the tomato and then the onion. “It’s just eggs mixed with tortillas and veggies. Mi mamá would make it for me sometimes when I was younger. She would throw a cut up plantain on the side tambien pero you don’t have any so we’ll skip that part.”

Now she was moving towards the stove, turning it on and pouring some oil in the pan, letting it warm up before she added the tortillas so they could crunch up a bit. “How’d you sleep?” She asked Oliver, turning to look back at him over her shoulder, her black hair still damp from her shower but a little wavy, her natural texture out for once since she hasn’t been able to straighten it quite yet.

He hummed a laugh, leaning down to rest his head on his hand as he watched her work. Oliver was soft with his response, his previous sleepiness making him drowsy, "Can't say I have..." All the ingredients seemed pretty simple, it didn't look like he'd have a difficult time eating it. "Why not hm? After all this effort you're taking to make it." He batted his eyelashes. "Just for me~." He laughed before standing straight again.

He titled his head as she walked to the stove. "What happened? Does she not make them for you anymore?" Considering Winter never really spoke of her family all that much, and she couldn't even ask them for proaction- instead asking someone from the fucking mafia for help- he guessed Winter was estranged from her family. He winced. Shit. Probably shouldn't have asked that then. Oliver cleared his throat, "I mean... never mind, you don't have to answer that haha."

He scratched the back of his neck, going over to sit at the table. "Slept fine, actually- no I didn't." He smirked, a playful glint in his eyes, "I could hear your god awful snoring from all the way across the hall!" He laughed. After a second or two of him just staring at Winter, he cocked his head to the side, a small smile on his face. Without thinking much of it, he said, "Didn't know you wore glasses Bardales. They look cute on you." He chuckled.

Victoria couldn't help but let out a soft scuff before she rolled her eyes playfully, continuing to watch the tortillas as they crisped up in the pan. "Mm it was more for me, you just happened to still be home," She said with a small laugh, the playful moment dying the moment she was asked about her mother. Her heart dropped to her stomach instantly, pausing for a brief moment as she stared at the sizzling tortillas, lost in thought as memories of her mother played in her head. Mama. She missed her more than anything in this world, but the more days that passed, the more Victoria knew this world didn't deserve a beautiful soul like Mama's. No. The world just took her and beat her to the ground. Mama deserved so much more than that. Blinking, she cleared her throat before she went over to the island, grabbing the cutting board full of vegetables in order to bring it closer to the pan, throwing in the onions and bell peppers next.

"Mama was too good for this world. Too much of a gentle soul in this cruel world. Se merecía más pero la buena siempre acaba muerta. The good one's always wind up six feet under." Brushing off the sad topic, she was glad Oliver was able to change the mood. She couldn't dwell on the past much. Not when she needed to continue looking forward and planning ahead.

She was quick to look back at Oliver and glare, a small smile on her face when he mentioned her snoring. "Ay no! I do not snore. Yo nunca. Never." She said, hand now on her hip as she turned to look at him fully, giving him that typical Latino mother glare before she let out a laugh once more. She took note of him just staring at her. She let it happen for a few brief moments before she turned back around, quickly, when he mentioned her glasses looked cute. She didn't know what to think and the soft blush that came to her cheeks was embarrassing. "T-th.... Gracias." She mumbled softly, mostly to herself, refusing to look back at him.

Once the food was all scrambled together and ready, she plated it for them, setting his in front of him on the table before she grabbed hers and joined him, smiling as she looked down at her masterpiece. I did good. Quickly stabbing some of the migas onto her fork, she took her first bite, humming contently as she chewed it, swaying back and forth in a happy manner. "Mm, Mama would be so proud," She said, looking up at Ollie as she smiled. "Bueno digame. Tell me. Whatcha think?"

Oliver scooped up some of the food Winter had made of them- for herself- on his fork, the migas settling on his tongue deliciously. The little crunch of the tortillas adding an enjoyable crunch to his bite. He smiled, not used to having any sort of breakfast- not to mention anything this good- in his mornings. Then again, he didn't spend his mornings with anyone else. Other than his partying nights of course, but those were never in his own home. Strangers and loud music would only disturb his beloveds.

He quickly finished his meal. Even after all the food last night, he was always famished in the mornings- though most of the time he ignored it. He always did have a big stomach. Once finished, he smiled at Winter, grateful for the meal that was totally meant to be his. "Want coffee Bardales? 'Fraid to say I only have the canned shit though." He got up, making his way over to the fridge with a scratch to his head. Pulling out two cans of coffee, he quickly checked his phone, cursing at the onslaught of messages from his lackeys. His dad really wasn't giving him a choice this time huh?

He sighed, plopping himself down on his seat. He slid a canned coffee over to his new roomie, eyes glued to his phone with a blank expression on his face.

As Winter continued eating her ever delicious breakfast, she grabbed her phone and began scrolling through her Instagram. She mostly followed other car enthusists and racers, though her public page was full of just pictures of her car, never her. Only a select few in that world were allowed to follow her private account where she was able to post freely like a normal person would. Unfortunate that we'll never be that, huh, Nina? She thought to herself as a weak smile appeared on her face, her eyes glancing up to look at Ollie as she watched him devour his food. Some things never change.

"Mm you can never go wrong with coffee," She replied to him, thanking him softly as he slid the can of coffee over to her while seemingly distracted by his phone. She was intrigued, wanting to know what could possible have him so occupied so early but she knew better than to pry. Opening the coffee, she took a sip of it before she finished up her food, grabbing her plate and placing it in the sink before doing the same with Oliver's. "Glad to know someone enjoyed his breakfast that was totally meant for him." She teased with a chuckle, grabbing the other dishes she had dirtied so she could clean them.

"What's got you so occupied this early in the morning?" She asked, not hearing her phone as it dinged with a text coming through as she started the water at the sink, waiting for it to get hot before soaking the dishes and grabbing a sponge and soap. "It should be a crime to be so focused on your phone this early, Shades."
