Characteristic of her race, she has fox ears, and currently possesses two tails. Mira has sharp, pronounced canines, and wears a visor-like mask that she rarely takes off. [/SIZE]


[SIZE=14.666666666666666px]Backstory:[/SIZE][SIZE=14.666666666666666px] Mira knows no blood family, only her heritage. As an orphan of a notorious race, Mira was saved from a lonely death out on the streets of Nocturne, by Carn, a djinn professor of the Academia Nocturne, who brought her to the institution and oversaw her upbringing. She grew up practicing with her innate magical talent, studying martial arts, and learning to ignore some of her darker impulses. At the age of 140, she manifested her second tail, and was encouraged to join classes in Academia Nocturne, which she reluctantly agreed to two years later, feeling like her magic and martial skills were progressing slowly under her own study. Since then she has completed the first two tiers of studies and and progressing well through her third.[/SIZE]


[SIZE=14.666666666666666px]Personality:[/SIZE][SIZE=14.666666666666666px] Tactical but also somewhat inflexible; when her strategy isn’t working, she’d rather keep trying than retreat and consider an alternative. Strongly independent and hates having to ask for help. She holds others to the same unreasonably high standards to which she holds herself, and is greatly frustrated by her failures and limitations.[/SIZE]

[SIZE=14.666666666666666px]Mira is grateful to Carn for taking her in, (especially with the considerable time investment of raising a kitsune) but is also determined to prove that not only she can take care of herself, but that she does not pose any risk and no longer needs supervision. (As an astrid, the mask is part of her face) The mask is golden, like her hair and eyes. She is considered one of the school's most beautiful students (with assistance from her aura) but also one of the least approachable. In owl form, she appears as a large barn owl with a gold mask of a human face.[/SIZE]

Inside the vision, Alyss loses track of her body and her physical surroundings, leaving her helpless and unable to care for herself. She doesn't always remember her visions entirely. [/SIZE]


[SIZE=14.6667px]When lucid, she's fiercely independent, and won't accept help with anything. She is thin-skinned, sharp-tongued, and sullen. She is creative, enjoys painting, poetry, and music. She is curious and will spend an inordinate amount of time studying simple things, and can relate many obscure facts if asked. [/SIZE]


[SIZE=14.6667px]Backstory:[/SIZE][SIZE=14.6667px] Alyss comes from a proud family with a long list of ancestors who attended this school and went on to become heroes or important figures. She started having visions she couldn't control just before completing her first tier of studies. After a few months, she grew sick of it and started to snap at people who asked her to look at the future for them. Formerly one of the popular kids, her reputation started to dwindle until the student body at large decided it was best that she be left alone. On a regular basis she is found wandering the campus in a daze, almost everyone has heard of her and knows to avoid her short temper and cutting insults.[/SIZE]

She's maybe an inch taller than average and considered physically weaker than she should be by the standards of her homeland. This is due to her focus on academics over forest-related practical skills.[/SIZE]


[SIZE=14.6667px]Personality:[/SIZE][SIZE=14.6667px] Awrem is an intelligent, impatient person who can only manage to be friendly when everything and everyone are behaving correctly. She is very dedicated to her studies and is known for pulling all-nighters for no discernible reason. She's also known for getting irritated when those around her don't live up to her unrealistic expectations, especially when that means her own interests are compromised. While rarely mean for the sake of being mean, few people would find it easy to describe Awrem as nice, warm, or friendly.[/SIZE]


[SIZE=14.6667px]Backstory:[/SIZE][SIZE=14.6667px] Awrem is from an isolated culture on the northern edge of habitability, where magic has long since been forgotten. These people are convinced that because they've managed to survive in their small homeland through the same manual methods for as long as anyone can remember, they don't need anything new from the outside world. As a result, the world has passed them by, and Awrem knows it. Once she decided the people around her were all ignorant fools, she set out for civilization with the goal of dragging her people into the modern world.[/SIZE]

Prefered Magics: Be able to grow plants fast, grow and shape animals from plants, can talk to animals, tracking expert, the ability to borrow senses and mannerisms from animals he meets, Can fade into trees (becoming a part of them for as long as he chooses).


Personality: Quiet, Almost never speaks or voices an opinion. He will merely go along with whatever the group decides, even if seems like the worst possible decision to him. Why? You’ll have to try to get him to open up to find out… Though, if accepted, do not expect this challenge to be easy. He will resist any friendships, being scared to let somebody get close. 


Backstory: Ari came to the school because he was following a friend. Living the friend’s dream instead of his own. He was lively and full of spunk, but didn’t know what to do with his life. So, this friend, Freud, dragged him along, even though Ari never finished prep-school. (drop out) Freud made friends easily, and soon had a good sized group he would hang around. Ari always followed in their activities and was treated as the little brother of the group. It seemed as if they would all only grow closer, then become a great squadron of heroes together. Though… Something happened… Something that was never reported to the school council, nor told to anyone. One night, over half of the group vanish, Sellah couldn’t use her arm anymore, and Feud and Ari were always seen apart… The entire group avoided Ari from then on, but no one ever asked why. Most of their dorm began to leave the young Druid-like boy to himself, merely because others did. Ari slipped into the quiet shadow you meet today; mysteries dancing around him that no one can find the key to unlock. Ari trusts no one, and speaks only if he has to.


Appearance: Ari is relatively short, around 5'1" (barely. We give it to him, because questioning can be dangerous for your health). He's built extremely thin and boney, and often has been teased for needing to work harder and gain muscle. He does, it just doesn't show. His deep brown hair and darker brown eyes give him a shadowy appearance when he wears the hood of his black cloak. Besides this, he wears a dark green tunic and black pants tucked into his dark green boots. A leather string can be seen around his neck, though whatever is strung on it is hidden under his shirt. He has almost misty presence and has been known to scare people just by standing near them silently.

Preferred Weapons: Throwing knives/ninja stars/kunai


Preferred Magic: Using her webs as her conduit for spell casting, Aria tends to disable or capture enemies or buff allies. Her webs enchantments range from entanglements, to electrical shocks, to sleep spells. While her buffing webs can increase speed, strength, magical ability or even add elemental effects to weapons.


Personality: Aria, despite being an Arachne, is a fairly friendly individual. She keeps a smile on her face and can normally be found reading a book in the library. She is soft spoken, but firm in her resolve. She has her moral guidelines and tends to stand by them. She is fairly peaceful and has yet to learn magic that does more than subdue someone. She likes the nickname she got in the school simply because it makes her feel like more than JUST an arachne. Being "The Web Weaver" is like her own emancipation from herself.


Aria does have some odd quirks though. She likes to observe people that are trapped up in her webs. Some believe she's a sadist underneath all that sweetness. However, those that have seen the way she looks at those she's subdued question that. She looks pained, like something is eating at her.


Backstory: Aria was born an ordinary cave Arachne. She left when she was old enough to for reasons that only she knows and refuses to explain. Since arriving at the school though she's done very well at learning enchantments and proving that she's not a complete monster.

Aria's tallest is 6'4" but that's when she straightens out all of her legs at one time. Normally she resides around 5'8". Her weight is a classified subject, but most speculate 200 pounds is a good rough estimate.

[SIZE=14.6667px]Soul meditation: A deep meditation technique that can reverse the effects any sickness, ailment, or poison, and heal most any injury that isn't a fatal wound. It also slows the effects of aging and exhaustion but while using this technique Bravado into a coma making him unaware of anything that's going on around him. [/SIZE][SIZE=14.6667px]Even being attacked cannot bring him out of it. Depending on the severity of his wounds and/or exhaustion he can be in soul meditation for up to an hour.[/SIZE]


[SIZE=14.6667px]Minds eye: Bravado can sense when someone has Ill intentions pointed in his direction although he can't always pin point the target depending on if they are hidden or if their is a large number of people around.[/SIZE]


[SIZE=14.6667px]Zen Mode: A form of martial arts that focuses the mind, body, and spirit into a unified state. While in this mode Bravado's aura glows bright white around him as if he's been set on holy fire and his eyes glow white as well. His mind races allowing everything to appear as if its being slowed down, he gains the ability to move objects without touching them including things as heavy as a tank, he can create forcefields and he can fire blasts of telekinetic energy from his hands.(doesn't last very long and using this causes him extreme exhaustion afterwards. Soul meditation is needed)[/SIZE]

He loves the rush of a good battle and fighting strong opponents equally as much as he loves playing pranks on his friends. He makes up for all of his "interesting" personality traits by being dependable, trustworthy, honorable, and somebody you'll be happy to have on your side in a battle. He does have a major flaw though. Bravados ego at being a demigod often gets the best of him. He isn't one for patience, tact, being subtle, or strategic. His favorite plan is just to smash through any obstacle but he's learning through the process of working with a team that this isn't always the best option.[/SIZE]


[SIZE=14.6667px]Backstory: [/SIZE][SIZE=14.6667px]Bravado was born with a twin sister Bellamere, and they were cared for by their loving mother. They lived simple and private lives in a little house, on the outskirts of a little town. One late night he woke up to find all of the townspeople outside of their house. The townspeople were to abduct the twins claiming their god would punish them if they didn't bring him what is his to have. Secretly their meek and humble mother was a legendaty but retired warrior. She fought valiantly against the crowd of towns people so that the twins could escape but was beaten bloody and unconcious, being abducted in the process. Bravado and Bellamere dyed their hair, changed their names and created new lives in order to hide themselves. Bellamere joined a medical healing arts school, and Bravado joined the academy Nocturne.[/SIZE]

She just doesn’t take s**t from anyone. She can be serious, but most of the time she’s a real memester. She’s pretty stable considering the things she went through a few years back (which is explained down in that backstory section), it doesn’t affect her too much. She just tries to not think about it. She’s ironically judgmental, so she’ll give you a lot of s**t about stupid things you do, but she’s typically not serious about it. She enjoys progressive court music and is rather adept at playing the lute. Her goal here at the college is to learn destructive magic well enough to be able to use those skills for mercenary work as she’s been essentially devoid of any income since she left home. Okay, lastly, the land she came from is populated almost exclusively by humans. As such, seeing beings that are more... [/SIZE][SIZE=14.666666666666666px]Beast-like [/SIZE][SIZE=14.666666666666666px]if you will, is uncommon at best. The existence of such creatures is known there, but it's so rare that they're viewed as somewhat of an oddity. After just like general college[/SIZE][SIZE=14.666666666666666px] [/SIZE][SIZE=14.666666666666666px]Mariah moved in with her older brother and nephew and opened up a shop in the city, selling and repairing instruments. Her degree in political science had proved... Less than useful. When she was 26, she traveled to the next town over to pick up a lute ordered by one of the shop's customers. Upon returning home, she found her town in flames. She had no idea what the hell happened or who caused it, all she knew was that it happened. She searched her home, understandably worried about her family, but found nothing but ashes and a pile of rubble that was once her home. She hopes her brother and nephew made it out alive, but she's not optimistic; they were probably either crushed under the remains of the house or burned alive in the fires consuming the rest of the city as they ran away.[/SIZE]

All her life she spent safe inside the city walls with guards there to protect her, a relatively steady income, and a place to live. Now all those things were gone. She had to fend entirely for herself. Which meant she had to fight. Unfortunately running the shop for the majority of her adult life didn't exactly put her in peak physical condition so traditional combat wasn't an option, but she wasn't going to just sit there and wait for the existential crisis to happen, so she found her way to the Academy to learn magic because that requires little physical strength and here she is today. Micki, the girl who hides a lot behind a mask, does indeed hide a past. Living her life with a adoptive family who has no pull for magic in their genes or in their minds, hid everything of value that pertained.


Living with a family of four and with a best friend, everything was perfect for her. All seemed right with the world, even though she soon realized the secret that her family kept from her, she could use magic. 


As time passed, her best friend found out Micki was using magic and tried to dissuade her from using it, causing a fight to break out. In the end, her best friend and her broke up, no longer friends, causing Micki's heart to start to seal itself away from others.


 Unknown to her family, she still practiced magic, out in the fields when her family wasn't working, or out in her secret meadow. 


However, one day, her parents happened upon her as she was training, destroying the books and notes she had collected over the years, burning all of it to the ground. 


Unlike how you would suppose she would feel, she let it happen. She held nothing against her parents, and instead, left for a Wizardry academy, leaving her family and her best friend to hate her and disown her from their memories.


So, now, she was ready to begin a new life, to start all over again, help and save others, even if she can't show her heart to them.

He rarely speaks, and shies away from most people.. If confronted, he will speak dismissively and coldly until he is left alone or provoked into an argument. He'd never admit to it, but he is quick to anger and used to get in a lot of fights when younger. When upset, he becomes hostile and slightly manic, speaking very quickly and appearing almost psychotic. At his best, he's calm and quiet, passive in most social situations. He's brutally honest, and seems to hate lying, which is ironic since the whole facade he throws up is a lie. When alone, he often cries himself to sleep and spends most of his time angrily brooding or drawing. [/SIZE]

They have skin that feels like something between human and dolphin and is various hues of blue and grey. Their veins are somewhat visible from the surface of their skin as they are a brighter neon magenta. There are hardened deposits of cartilage that protrude through the skin protecting the more vulnerable parts of the joints of their elbows, knees, and ankles. These cartilage deposits begin look like polished gems when sirens hit puberty due to the hardening of the tissue, the same color as their blood, but are softer when they are younger. Their hands and fingers and toes have slightly more pronounced webbing than human's. Sirens have both gills, on their necks, and lungs. [/SIZE]

Personality: If he seems absent minded it is only because he's having a conversation with the shadow spirit that's bound to him. Typically pretty friendly and charming, Rue keeps a cool head unless pushed really far. Doesn't have much of a sense of humor, but will attempt awful puns sometimes in an attempt to connect with friends. 


Backstory:  An adventurer drifting from party to party. He parted ways with his last group after they started fighting over a cursed rifle, he figured that they can fight over whatever, there's more fun to be had elsewhere.
