Fandom Reinner Academy for Gifted Trainers

explosiveKitten

Fanfic Kitty
You receive a letter in the mail. Concealed inside the envelope is a plane ticket and a letter, handwritten in fine black ink.

Hello!

You have been invited to participate in the Pokemon World Tournament in Driftveil City, Unova.

Why? Because you have been selected to take the entrance exam for the Pokemon University, Reinner Academy for Gifted Trainers. Concealed in this letter is an express plane ticket to Mistralton City, a neighboring city to Driftveil. Once you have arrived, the local gym leader Skyla will escort you and other trainers like to Driftveil, where once you arrive you will be treated to a luxury suite in one of the many hotels in Driftveil (NOTE: You will be sharing a room with one or two others). The next day, you will be allowed an hour to prepare before entering the tournament. You will be expected to be there at noon and not a minute late.

Just remember. It does not matter whether you win or lose. You will be judged on technique, style, and performance. Losing a battle is not an immediate rejection.

I hope to see you there!

Wishing you the best of luck,

Heidi Reinner, Headmistress of Reinner Academy.

RULES!

1. Legendaries cannot be caught until much later in the roleplay. If you wish to catch a legendary later, you MUST reserve it on your sign up sheet. Otherwise, no legendary for you. NO!

2. I want this to be literate. I want decent posts, no one-liners, decent grammar, punctuation, all that stuff! I want to be able to look back on this roleplay and think, "Damn. This is nice reading material."

3. Romance is fine! Heck, even encouraged! I like to see my characters happy and in love as much as the next person. But we have to keep it clean. Remember the "Fade to Black" rule, alright?

4. Pokemon are living things. They will age. They will get hurt. They will die. The same goes for humans. There is chance of bloodshed. Lets just keep the gore level down and try not to kill each other and their Pokemon.

5. You must control your own Pokemon. You cannot control anyone else's Pokemon. During a battle, the other roleplayer has the right to choose whether the attack hit or not. Of course the likelyhood of the attack missing varies between Pokemon, but you cannot instantly dodge an attack either. Nor can you instantly attack and have it hit no matter what. Thats not how life works. Thats not how roleplay works. Thats not how Pokemon works. Unless it's specfically a move that does not miss, this rule is important.

6. All standard RPnation rules apply. No godmodding, no Mary/Gary sues, the usual shpeal. Same with Pokemon mechanics. No more then six Pokemon allowed on hand, no less then one.

7. I want variation. People from different regions. People with different Pokemon. All are welcome at Reinner Academy.

The plane had landed an hour ago. The journey from Mistralton wasn't too hard, especially with the gym leader there. The wild Pokemon were hostile as ever, maybe even a little more aggressive then normal. But it didn't matter. You're Pokemon finally got to stretch out after the cramped plane ride, and the scenery was beautiful.

You've arrived at the Miner's Den, a high class hotel in Driftveil city, where you were greeted by the hotel staff and were allowed to check in. It's odd, the locals seem... nervous. What could possibly be wrong on a lovely day like today? You and the other six participants receive your room keys and ride the elevator to your floor.

It's the beginning of a grand adventure. Who knows what things you'll experience! You'll meet new friends, perhap catch new Pokemon. But one thing is certain; Today, your life changes.

Is for the better... or worse?

@Soul OMU @BishopOfKings

NOTE: The RP begins with the elevator ride up. Dylan, Ryuugi, Pepper and Ramona are in one elevator. Max, Cross and Nick are in the other. The girls are all rooming together, and the guys are all rooming together. SO please, try to get along, and HAAAAAVE FUN!

Pepper closed her eyes as she stood in the elevator with three other people, three other strangers she reminded herself. She sighed and leaned back against the wall of the elevator and crosses her arms across her chest as she silently waited for the elevator to reach the floor she was given for her room. She didn't like the silence, especially since it was tense and awkward.

A girl with short red hair stood with her back against the elevator wall. Her arms were crossed, one knee bent and the other straight. Her black steel-toed boots were strapped tight, her equally black blouse form-fitted to her flat abdomen. One hand grasped around the crimson side bag strap, the other rose up to brush her hair aside. Her bright emerald eyes were trained onto the floor to not meet the eyes of the strangers that surrounded her. She thought about how this Academy would play out, and what entailed at joining such a place.

She had then caught a glance of the people she would be training with. One of the males was blonde with green eyes. He had a pair of headphones around his neck and wore a more simple, casual attire consisting of a tan shirt, an aqua jacket, and a pair of jeans. Another, a girl, was a dark brunette with an attire similar to that of one would assume her specializing in the water type. The other person in the elevator was also male. What a group, the ginger girl thought, intrigued by the group of individuals that were to attend to the academy as well. A small smile crept onto her face as she thought again as what this trip would entail.

(The image for Ryuugi is broken, so I couldn't necessarily describe his features. Sorry.)

MY CHEMICAL ROMANCE: 2001— FOREVER

When Ryuugi enters the elevator, he walks to the back right corner and crouches down, rests his chin in his hands, puts his elbows on his knees. He ignores all the other people in the elevator and just thinks about other ways he can use his pokemon. He takes out his Larvesta's pokeball and looks at it intensively. "I'll win this thing and then I'll be one step closer to being able to defeat Aaron!" ,He thought to himself. He started to remember Skyla from earlier, "And when I become the best, She'll have to love me!" Ryuugi's face started to get bright red as he remembered when she turned him down earlier that day. *"Skyla! Please be mine! You can be the wings so my bugs can soar!" "Please, the only thing my wings would do is eat bugs like you for breakfast."* He lets out a sigh, "Man... She's perfect." Ryuugi thought creepily to himself as he blankly stares at the elevator doors.

Max yawned as he rode in the elevator. He had the worst headache and was suffering from multiple forms of jet lag. He looked around as he pulled a small set of earbuds out of his pocket, put them in his ears, and began playing his music. He had originally been on his way to Kanto on a plane when he was told he had a letter waiting at home, so he flew home to Hoenn... Just to learn that he had to travel to Unova. He sighed as he rubbed his eyes. He was operating on 3 hours of sleep and about 15 granola bars, and he was hoping nobody would talk to him, as he didn't want to seem like a total *ss. So Max stood in the corner watching the other two trainers. "I wonder if I might be battling either of them later..." Max though as a new song began to play through his earbuds "Regardless I need to relax... I'm to stressed to do anything right now." He sighed and began watching the floor counter go up.

Of all the things she was expecting, it was NOT. Giant. Spider Pokemon.

She had never been to Unova before. Well, she had, but it was a big populated city called Castelia! And it didn't have gigantic spider Pokemon crawling all over the place!

God above, if there was one thing Cross hated, it was Bug Pokemon. First of all, having to face Bugsy with only a Bayleef and an Absol had been a B**** to fight, and second, Bug Pokemon are just creepy. Especially giant furry spiders that shoot electric webs at her FACE! Thankfully she had a big powerful Ninetales that is practically fearless to protect her from the giant spiders.... Ugh.

Her Dratini Clark was curled up in her hood right now, shaking nervously as the elevator moved upwards. He was freshly hatched, so he was still getting used to the world around him. He was timid, so she let him hang out wherever he wanted for the time being. It didn't matter. She looked up from the floor and around the two other guys in the elevator.

One guy had dark hair and really light blue eyes, which was kinda pretty to look at, and he had a big bad Swampert and a Politoed. God, she hoped he didn't have an entire team full of water types. That would be no fun to battle. The other had fair, blonde hair and... Orangey brown eyes. Weird eyes, but from what she had seen of his team, he seemed to be impressive. If she were an impressionable person.

Nevermind it. The floor counter was going up, she was tired, her guitar case was heavy, and she just wanted to sleep.

Pepper stretched as she yawned before looking up at the numbers to see that they finally reached the floor that was given in the letter. She leaned back as she waited for the doors to open before getting off, holding her partner pokemon's poke ball in hand.

The elevator came to her floor, and she grabbed her bag off the floor and stepped out, her Dratini slipping up to rest his head on her shoulder. Once she had stepped outside, she looked back at the other two boys. They both seemed to off in their own little world, but she decided to pipe up anyway.

"...Well. It's been fun. Good luck tomorrow." She said as the doors began to close. Once they were closed, she turned slowly and started off down the hall, her eyes watching the numbers on the doors until she came to her shared room. Seems she was the first one to arrive. Good. She can pick the best bed.

Upon entering the room, she let her right arm down. Her Dratini moved down and stuck his chin into the crook of her elbow and wiggled, using his tail to flick the Pokeballs from her belt. The moment they hit the floor, more and more Pokemon popped out of their Pokeballs. Meganium, Ninetales, Pikachu, Espeon and Absol. Her most beloved friends, they all spread themselves out and explored their surroundings while she threw her things down on her bed. Her Pikachu Zero, with his distinctive zero marking on his forehead, hopped up onto the bed and retrieved Clark from his place, setting him down on the soft down comforter as he climbed his up onto her shoulder. A crash came from the main room, and when Cross looked up, her Absol was sitting in front of a coat rack that had fallen over on top of him.

"Graceon, I suggest you just stay in one place for the time being. It'll be useless for you to try to learn the room, we're only staying a night. Cherry, do me a favor, and use Psychic to put that back up?" The Espeon gave a cry from where she perched on a leather ottoman and soon the coat rack and everything that had been on it was neatly back standing upright. The Absol grumbled and walked off then settled next to Cross on the bed, his head on his paws. She sighed at him and rubbed his head, "Yeah, yeah, mister grumpy."

Pepper making her way to the room when she hears the crash and blinks as she lets out Ivy. Ivy gives a cry and takes a look around before looking at Pepper and nipping her playfully before Pepper smiled a bit and made her way to the room Cross was in. "Guess this is it..."

Luna looked up from standing in the sunset sunlight filtering through the window when the presence of another grass type was detected. All the Pokemon in the room looked at the Sceptile, all wary of the new Pokemon, until the Absol suddenly got up, tossing several of Cross's things off the bed in his wake and walked over to the Sceptile, his blank eyes glaring at the Grass type, his red eyes narrowed and the fur along his spine stood up. "Graceon! Graceon, down boy!" Cross shouted from the room she was in, but the overprotective Absol continued to creep forward, until suddenly an Espeon vaulted up onto his back, crying in a friendly manner and holding up a paw like she was expecting a handshake.

@Soul OMU

Pepper steps out behind Ivy. "Hello..." She said slowly while Ivy narrowed her eyes at Graceon but blinked when Cherry appeared in her line of vision. "...sceptile..."

Cherry continued to stick her paw up and smile, her purple eyes shining with a friendly light. Graceon made an angry sound and reared up, throwing the Espeon off, then took off and promptly ran into a wall with a loud thud. The Meganium and Ninetales flinched at the sound, and this was the last straw. "Cherry for god's sake, if you start making a mess in here-" Cross shouted, running out of the bedroom, stopping when she saw her Absol in a big furry pile on the floor. "...Graceon, please, go sit in the corner before you hurt yourself? please?"

The Absol grumbled and got up, following her voice to her side. She sighed and shook her head, then looked up at Pepper and her Sceptile.

"...Hi." She said simply.

@Soul OMU

Pepper raises a brow. "Uh hi... Yours im guessing." She said as she made her way to one of the other empty beds and let out her pokemon. Adam yawns and looks around. Matthew sulking and looks annoyed, bangs flopping in his eyes. Maximus shakes out his fur and looks around. Adonis still in his ball, sleeping. Thomas blinks and stretches as he looks around. Ivy goes over and settles down by Pepper's bed.

"Ha, yeah... Don't mind him. He's um... he's blind, so he'll be running into things for a while..." She said, picking up her Espeon from where she was messing with a lamp and threw her over her shoulder, then walked off, picking up her Dratini off the coffee table and holding him in her hand. "So yeah, this is my team, might as well get to know them. You'll be seeing a lot of them." She added, putting Cherry on the counter in the kitchenette next to Clark and pulling a bag of Pokemon food from her backpack. Soon her Pokemon were up and running over to her to get their dinners. Nikki the Ninetales swept past Maximus without a second glance, and plodded over to the kitchenette.

"Cherry get your nose out of the food, you know how this works, get down, all of you!" She demanded and they all sat down, even the big Meganium, who produced a large thud as she sat back. "....Good. Now here." She began to set all the Pokemon food down in bowls, then watched the Pokemon as they twitched anxiously and eyed their food.

"...alright you can eat now." A flurry of motion followed as the Pokemon all took to eating with fury.

Maximus seems completely unbothered by that, doesnt even bother giving Nikki a glance at all as he settles down by Adam, giving him some heat since Adam is cold blooded. Adam opens one eye and gives a soft sigh to show his appreciation while Thomas is looking around at everything, his eyes quite round since he has the mindset of a child despite him being a giant. Ivy settling against Pepper's bed, closing her eyes to have a nap while Matthew is busy sulking in the shadows, petting his ear fluffies lightly. Pepper raises a brow. "Huh... Interesting... and they seem pretty cool." she said softly unpacking her bag while her pokemon did their own things.

"Yeah... They're all pretty wild, aren't they? Heh..." She sighed and sat down at the table in the kitchenette. "So, um, anyway, Luna is my partner, she's the Meganium here." Cross started, patting Luna's neck, " She was my starter. Got her from Professor Elm at the age of six as a Chikorita. Then theres Graceon, my blind Absol. He was my second Pokemon, and as to why he is blind, I don't feel like getting into it. Then we have Nikki, Zero, Cherry and Clark is on the counter cause he's timid." Cross said, pointing at each one in turn. Cherry got up at the mention of her name, scuttled along the counter and soon came to sit in front of Pepper, sticking out a paw again, like she wanted a handshake.

"Oh, and um, I'm Cross. Cross Elm."

Pepper blinks as she looks at Cherry. "Hm... Your Espeon seems quite interesting... I'm Pepper. Pepper Fall. I actually met my partner when I was younger...She had been mistreated and neglected... I promised her I would never do that to her or any other people we come across. And So far I've kept that promise... Adonis would be out here but he's more comfortable in water." she said while taking the dive ball off her belt which contained Adonis. "Sorry, Ivy, I forgot to introduce her, she's my partner. Then there's Matthew, who is currently over in the corner... He was being chased by some hunters when I found him as a buneary... Ivy took care of them and then Mattie decided he wanted to join." Matthew glances over from his corner and walks out of the shadows, his fur shining since he's a shiny. "Then there's Thomas, my gentle giant, Adonis who i found caught in a trap, Adam who actually fell on my head when I was looking around Mirage Tower in Hoenn and Maximus who I helped at Mt. Pyre when he was stuck on a high ledge..." Pepper said with a small smile as Matthew put a hand on her shoulder.

Cherry continued to sit with her paw up. Eventually after being ignored long enough, she began to wave her paw around in a vertical motion.

".... Well, it's nice to finally get someone's name. Nice to meet you Pepper... She wants you to shake her paw." Cross said, raising an eyebrow at Pepper. Graceon looked up from his dinner and sniffed around some, then went back to eating.

Pepper blinks and looks at Cherry once again before lightly taking her paw and shaking it. "I thought so but I wasn't sure if I was allowed... normally people are pretty protective of their pokemon." she said while letting Matthew sit in front of her so she can brush his fur the way he likes it since even thought he is quiet and dislikes being shiny, he has a particular way about how his fur looks. "So your team is pretty equal gender wise, i got mostly guys on my team."

(You're in an elevator with Max. Cross just got off the elevator and said, "Good luck tomorrow" to Max and Nick. You are still in the elevator.)

Eventually, the elevator came to a stop. The red haired girl stepped out without a word, as a hand strayed to the opening in her side bag. Her fingers wrapped around a sparkling golden sphere. She pushed down on the center button and the capsule had been enlarged. The sphere took up her entire hand, and it shook in the slightest while being held. Now in the hall, the girl pulled out the electric yellow Pokéball and it let out a bright blueish-white light. And there beside the girl was a blue feline similar to a lion.

The Luxray came up to the ginger's chest, and was twice that height when on his hind legs. The mane around his neck was quite formidable, and obviously intricately groomed. He yawned and stretched out his legs. He followed his trainer down the hall as she held a slip of paper between her fingers. "So, Driftveil. It's been a long time, hasn't it, Raiden?" she said in a sweet sounding voice. One would compare it to honey or agave, but with the smallest tinge of spice. The Luxray—Raiden—purred at the statement.

The female trainer and her Luxray made it to their room, only to see two girls and a room full of Pokémon already inhabiting the area. "Hello." was all she said, eyeing all the creatures around her. Her lion Pokémon stuck to her side as she found her own bed, furthest away from all the others. The two girls were already conversing, so it would be rude to intervene. One girl was the one that was in the elevator with the ginger, the other girl very unfamiliar.

She had curly brunette hair pulled back into a thick ponytail, as well as pale green eyes. She wore a relatively plain attire, not like the girl's own was too intricate. A green hoodie, striped green scarf, blue shorts and fingerless gloves, as well as black boots similar to her own. The red haired girl's Luxray hopped up onto the bed on the area next to her, as the girl lied a hand on his side.

Nick looked at his pokegear and the others, lost in thought as he came back down to earth. His mind was already wandering, though on many different subjects and topics, "Oh! Uh.. Yeah you too. I'll be cheering for you." He said as the girl got out. He looked around, was this his floor? Fuck, he spaced out again. He scrambled out of the elevator looking around, dragging his luggage with him. He rubbed his shoulders, sheesh he was sore. Nick looked around, was having a Pokemon out already bad? He nodded, better safe than sorry. He walked down the halls in an attempt to find his room, looking around and admiring how nice the place looked in comparison to camping all of his life. He probably looked a strange sight, a spacy man looking around like a peasant in a palace.
