You receive a letter in the mail. Concealed inside the envelope is a plane ticket and a letter, handwritten in fine black ink.
Hello!
You have been invited to participate in the Pokemon World Tournament in Driftveil City, Unova.
Why? Because you have been selected to take the entrance exam for the Pokemon University, Reinner Academy for Gifted Trainers. Concealed in this letter is an express plane ticket to Mistralton City, a neighboring city to Driftveil. Once you have arrived, the local gym leader Skyla will escort you and other trainers like to Driftveil, where once you arrive you will be treated to a luxury suite in one of the many hotels in Driftveil (NOTE: You will be sharing a room with one or two others). The next day, you will be allowed an hour to prepare before entering the tournament. You will be expected to be there at noon and not a minute late.
Just remember. It does not matter whether you win or lose. You will be judged on technique, style, and performance. Losing a battle is not an immediate rejection.
I hope to see you there!
Wishing you the best of luck,
Heidi Reinner, Headmistress of Reinner Academy.
RULES!
1. Legendaries cannot be caught until much later in the roleplay. If you wish to catch a legendary later, you MUST reserve it on your sign up sheet. Otherwise, no legendary for you. NO!
2. I want this to be literate. I want decent posts, no one-liners, decent grammar, punctuation, all that stuff! I want to be able to look back on this roleplay and think, "Damn. This is nice reading material."
3. Romance is fine! Heck, even encouraged! I like to see my characters happy and in love as much as the next person. But we have to keep it clean. Remember the "Fade to Black" rule, alright?
4. Pokemon are living things. They will age. They will get hurt. They will die. The same goes for humans. There is chance of bloodshed. Lets just keep the gore level down and try not to kill each other and their Pokemon.
5. You must control your own Pokemon. You cannot control anyone else's Pokemon. During a battle, the other roleplayer has the right to choose whether the attack hit or not. Of course the likelyhood of the attack missing varies between Pokemon, but you cannot instantly dodge an attack either. Nor can you instantly attack and have it hit no matter what. Thats not how life works. Thats not how roleplay works. Thats not how Pokemon works. Unless it's specfically a move that does not miss, this rule is important.
6. All standard RPnation rules apply. No godmodding, no Mary/Gary sues, the usual shpeal. Same with Pokemon mechanics. No more then six Pokemon allowed on hand, no less then one.
7. I want variation. People from different regions. People with different Pokemon. All are welcome at Reinner Academy.
