Okay so here let's break things down
We have a height map- but no actual scale for elevation that corresponds to the color gradients used
We have a general terrain map- but it's just colors and dots with no explanation as to what corresponds to what
We have a "temperature map" that... actually that one has metrics, they're just completely insane and seem to ignore any kind of wind/ocean pattern or terrain placement and there's an area twice the size of chile dead center that is somehow tundra
I hate to be the guy saying this but these look like someone just typed in "map generator" and rolled with whatever they got

Frankly this all seems like overthinking something that'll vaguely maybe matter well down the line. The intro confusion was understandable, that kinda stuff we should focus on when it happens, and then we worked over that and can move on.

Use some common sense then. Red means tall, gradient means incline, green with variation I suppose is just plains.
Use common sense.
That one is a little screwed up but if there isn't a proper way to tell where it would be, say, on the equator, then there's no telling where it actually is.
A lot easier since it would take less work to fix then, and players wouldn't be complaining about every little thing they noticed that'd have to be revisioned. Generators are literally made to make things easier at the expense of detail, the thing is though; I've seen the map up close; there's a lot more detail then I imagined.

You say common sense, but that's your common sense and it still tells me nothing. People are different. What is intuitive to you is not intuitive to everyone else and even if it may seem like it sometimes I cannot actually read your mind
Now either we can address this 500 pound gorilla in the room or we can just all agree this doesn't have any actual bearing on the IC and make things up as we go together. Sound fair?

Yeah whatever dude.

The names could be placed in a legend like I suggested.
It'd be too long.

That's just an example of one small province. And it wouldn't make much of a difference since there's a small chance anybody'll be visiting the inland cities for something important. \

I'd love to make a list but I haven't even seen most of the zoomed up provinces so, I wouldn't be able to even if I wanted to.

I thought you said you made the maps? But anyway, guess I'll do that.

Hey, if only the coastal cities matter, why not just shrink the map so there's fewer issues with getting different groups together later in the RP?

Don't know when I did but I'm too tired to remember much this night.

The land of ports and port accessories

Yeah probably best to not get over invested in stuff like this, just a game and all and we're all shooting the shit a lot even if we do try to address questions and doubts.

And while I do think the maps are kinda off all things considered, feel kinda thrown together, they work for what we're doing here as long as we just work with IC flow. I don't really expect anyone here to put in the effort into making a setting click to that degree. That's like, actual literary worldbuilding rather than playing pretend.

The problem is that the map is split into like 4 parts that detail a whole wide assortment of things. My qualm with making a legend is what good it'd do. If you squint your eyes (which admittedly isn't that fun) you can see minor text showing where the major cities are in a province. Most are port or beside river cities so just look out for those. Another thing, water is incredibly legible and roads don't really need to be mapped out unless there's this specific path that needs to be taken.

Maybe I'm not the best at orienteering but I'm just not sure what a legend would do for this.
You can always press CTRL and + to zoom into the picture, just saying.

Ay Remembrance Remembrance , good post my man but I think we're supposed to like, have our characters introduce themselves and maybe y'know interact in some way in the process? So we can at least have that as activity and all, takes some weight from the GM's shoulders when we're not just waiting for them to post.

I just think it'd be good for your character to get in on that given SachiGrl SachiGrl 's character is already kinda literally locked out of a good deal of interaction.

Sorry just wanted to get a post out there cause I’ll be busy with the forthcoming days and I’d rather have some wiggle room with how I play with it.

Yeah, my character is currently dependent on the GM's character Torin unless one of our team members volunteers to hold her during the dungeon mission.
