Red Zone

"Damn" Alex mumbled he wasn't finished yet. The spear hit him in the chest, the tip piercing through his armor. At the same time, gravity behind him pulled fiercely in the opposite direction. His fingers twitched slightly as he reached forward and grabbed the spear, keeping it from pushing further into his body and damaging his soul further. At the same time, all around them, the structure began to fall apart, a sign that he'd lost control of his energy...

"Not" Alex looked at Salegg, a smirk on his lips, hidden by his helmet. With a pulse of gravity energy, the various shards and pieces that had broken apart from the structure suddenly vibrated and sharpened, pointing towards the center, where Salegg's attack had forced Alex from and moved the man in. With Alex touching Salegg's spear, his energy traveled up the spear and onto Salegg's armor. One couldn't get away from an attack when he was the one pulling it in.

In an instant, as if yanked by a powerful force, the various shards shot towards Salegg.

@Rurnur

"Give it up!" Salegg roared in Alex's face, keeping a balanced pressure, just in order to overpower the gravitational pull, and impact his enemy's armour even further. The Captain's confidence rose, a situation like this, where he could simply overpower his opponent through sheer strength was definately ideal. There was no hiding the fact that Salegg had more power within his soul. If things continued like this, it wouldn't be long before Alex's armour was crushed under the immense pressure.

What was he trying? Applying gravity directly on his armour? "What foolishness is this? It is nothing but dust to me!" Salegg laughed as the shard attack was caught dead in the protective barrier surrounding him, the fragments were slowed down to an absolute halt, within the super-condensed liquid. With a quick nod of the head, the water surrounding him began to swirl around, tossing the fragments away, out of the sphere. The Immortal was trying to outsmart him, but there was a limit to how clever one can be, in a fight of this scale. Power will always be absolute, he thought to himself.

This was not an opportunity to be missed, Salegg held the spear tightly and pushed it to the side, releasing his grip while Alex's hands were still around it. This caused Alex's body to tilt to his left, leaving him open. Within an instant, Salegg pulled his right arm back, made a fist, dragging the endless waves of water that made up his protective barrier into one small bubble, surrounding his fist. Then, with a swift motion, slammed the weight of an ocean into Alex's left cheek, or rather, his very soul.

"Nothing but pride!" Alex growled as his helmet vanished from the surrounding areas of his face. It formed into one solid piece that directly separated from his face and struck Salegg's cheek. This single piece of his helmet was incomparably dense, like punching the core of a black hole. However, Alex had been incapable of completely defending. The attack still struck his cheek. A spiderweb of cracks formed across the Dragon that was his soul, but it didn't shatter.

At the same time, Alex brought his hand forward, the shards that Salegg had thrown away suddenly condensed across his palm at an incredible speed. It was very reminiscent of the attack he'd used before he'd achieved this new Armor form. However, the energy gathered was twice as fast and only half as powerful. Alex figured it'd do the trick though, considering that Salegg had just turned his defense into offense.

With a tearing, ripping feeling, a blast of condensed gravity energy left his hand, propelling himself away from Salegg's reach. As he flew back, the remaining shards of gravity energy shot forward, entering his body and nourishing his soul, allowing him to quickly begin repairing it. Salegg's power was certainly something to be admired. While his defense hadn't been perfect, Alex was sure that it could have blocked the attack of a weaker Immortal completely. To break through that defense and still do serious damage to his soul was impressive.

@Rurnur

The Officer frowned at that, but bowed her head in recognition "Could you tie it? I don't have a feeling I'll get out of here"
She stole a glance at Salegg, and looked back at Nanautzin, The Captain was keeping up good as always by what she could see, while the demon was healing as the two exchanged words, and the Artificial didn't like that a single bit. "Do it quick".

As Salegg's fist connected with his opponent's cheek, the bubble burst forth with waves upon waves of water, filling the space around the two Immortals. "Does that feel like nothing?" Salegg laughed and summoned his spear back into his hands, which he immediately tossed into Alex's core, manipulating the water it travelled through to propel it even faster. It was time to show this Immortal the true difference between their power.

While the spear drew closer to Alex, Salegg pushed himself forward with his water, allowing the mass of liquid to engulf his opponent once again. He was trying to escape and regenerate? Salegg took this as an insult, the onslaught wouldn't end here. Before Alex could begin regenerating, he'd force him to exert more power in defense.

Salegg dashed past Alex, through the water, moving his hands to condense the liquid around him, once again applying mass pressure using the weight of his ocean.

@Seraph Darkfire

Alex frowned. He needed more time to repair and regenerate his energy. He needed something. He saw the water that Salegg was using and it gave him an idea. He brought his hands together. A low thrumming filled the space around him, pushing out from his body and expanding in every direction. At first, it barely had an affect, but the feeling began to increase more and more. The energy of his body began to rapidly oscillate, the space around him distorting as light was twisted and rippled. This affect was caused by Gravitational Waves.

For the most part, they had no effect as the waves would have traveled millions of light years to reach any inhabited planet, rendering them barely detectable. But as Alex was the source, the effect was incredible. The closer one got to Alex, the more fierce the vibration became. The water around Alex was rapidly shaken apart even as Salegg condensed it. A Mortal would have been stretched and compressed by the forces, eventually tearing their body apart.

An Immortal would feel their soul vibrating in time with the waves. However this effect did very little damage, at most making it slightly difficult to gather energy. The main purpose of this ability was to disrupt Salegg's attacks.

The major side effect was that it halved his own energy absorption. The time it bought him would be worth it though.

@Rurnur

Acantha tied Otrov's colleague's leg up quickly using a slightly-slightly-thicker-than-it-needs-to-be rope and turned towards Nanautzin. Strings flying out in all directions creating traps and angles of enagement. Her attacks were slow but she can compensate for tactics and strategy. "My names Acantha, wha'bout you?" She said cheerfully as she tighted a few strands around her for attack.

Salegg was amused at the Immortal's quick thinking. It was an interesting ability, and definately succeeded in stopping his attacks using water pressure, although, it wouldn't be able to stop his spear. The waves around Alex were now just droplets spread out around the surrounding area, he motioned with his hands and collected the energy back up, regrettably. Then, Salegg clenched his fist, causing the water to propel the spear over one last distance, to where it pierced Alex's soul. "You can't keep trying to fend off my attacks and expect to get away with it. You were so aggressive just before, what happened?" He spoke mockingly, darting towards his opponent. "While you succeed in defending against one form of attack, you ignore another, and pay the price."

The effect his attack had on his soul was frustrating to say the least, but only a minor inconvenience when going for an attack. Salegg grasped the spear which had it's tip embedded in Alex's soul, and began to push. Imbuing his weapon with the power of the ocean, he forced the liquid into the cracks of Alex's armour, flooding his soul with pressure from the inside. He twisted it and turned it, laughing at his enemy's predicament. "Fight with your last breath, Immortal!"

Nanautzin cocked his head to the side, " We've exchanged names before Acantha." Nanautzin said spreading  his membrane across the field.  He couldn't see the threads really but he could tell something was there. The membrane crawled across the Officers skin trying to consume her. Nanautzin would simply wait for the point behind Acanthas actions. Was she trying to distract him and buy time for something?

Gabriel chuckled "I'm Gabriel, I know who you are...". She bored her fingers in the dirt, feeling utterly useless just siting there. Membrane from her leg started spreading over the ground, seeking to strengthen itself and join the plague spreading across the ground from Nanautzin's direction. "Is Captain Otrov safe?", the Officer asked as she looked up to Acantha, hopeful.
@SleepyBuddha @Petroshka

"Pfft under my care, everyones safe." Acantha said just before the strings around Gabriel acted, grabbing her and ripping her off the station, flinging her out into space through the hole. Hopefully Otrov catches her. She then turned around to Nanautzin, and bowed. "If you still want to fight," she went upright again. "You still have the advantage" she winked. It was as everything that comes out of Acantha, a half truth. Her soul energy was at least around 80% thanks to the long travel back to the station, and even though they were in a relatively open area she could manipulate the surroundings. "But just warning you," Acantha shruged while stretching strings between her hands, the started to make a unusual noise. "Strings play many games." Her smile grew sinister.

Gabriel wasn't able to yell at Acantha as the gushes of wind, and quickly enough vacuum prevented her words from becoming sound. Easy to say, the Officer was furious, looking for any object, a piece of rock from the station to propel herself back to it, but didn't find any. Threlm did his job too well. She was not in state, nor in position to battle, but it still baffled the young soldier that she won't be able to fulfill her orders. Propulsion of the nearing ship warmed the surrounding, and she raised her head up towards it as it moved closer, the Officer already saying goodbyes to her promotion.

Alex grinned as his armor slowly covered his face once more "Condense and condense further" he whispered as his armor began to turn black. He continued to darken until he was a void in space. The spear slowly sunk further into his body. Outsiders would see this as Alex losing control, but Salegg would notice that the spear was vanishing, being devoured into nothingness "Event Horizon"

Whatever passed the Even Horizon of a black hole became untraceable and irretrievable. This ability absorbed everything into his armor, however, it also destroyed the armor completely after several minutes. Without wasting a single second, he moved forward, arriving at Salegg in an instant, his fist rushing towards his chest, holding the weight of a million suns.

Devour and destroy, that was the principle of this attack. It did not tell friend from foe, nor did it differentiate between Salegg and Alex. Before his armor broke, he had to keep pressuring Salegg. The second he stopped, the armor would begin to devour him instead. At this point, it was like wearing a Demon as armor. This was, as Salegg had said 'Fighting with his last breath'

@Rurnur

Salegg began to feel strange, it wasn't an increase in power, but method. What was this boy's soul? He couldn't comperehend it. He began pushing more and more water into his soul, but to no effect. "What are you doing?" The Captain grit his teeth and allowed his spear to dissipate, re-forming in his hands. "Coward! Fight me with.. real power." The energy drain began to finally take it's effect on Salegg, through his arrogance, he had used up far too much power, in the attempt to finish off Alex then and there.

Suddenly, with a great ray of bright white light, Salegg's armour had shattered into pieces, with the impact of Alex's fist. He began to cough and splutter, backing away from his opponent. "Ah.. blinded by my own strength, is it..?" He lay floating in space, breathing heavily, holding his hand upon his chest, feeling the state of his soul. Fragile, with a large crack through the middle.

"You put the mortals you were made to protect in danger, when using such.. extreme attacks.. shameful.." He coughed again, letting a deep breath escape his lungs. Salegg had run out of energy to defend himself, but to him, this didn't mean that he'd lost. Oh no, there was no winning for Alex in this situation. Raising his hand, he motioned in the air, creating several waves of Aether energy, that would be immediatelly be picked up by the Grand Fleet, letting them know about this region of space, that it needed to be obliterated as soon as possible.

The Captain began to laugh, watching Alex approach him. "You think you've won, don't you?" He chuckled, weakly. "Bad news, boy.. the Grand Fleet knows where this place is now, and they don't like Immortals. Actually, they barely even like Mortals." He smiled, tilting his head back as he floated backwards. "Do you know why the space around this region, is totally empty, devoid of land or life? Well, it's because the Fleet wiped all of it out, for resources, expanding the Fleet itself. Oh yes, don't think for a second that your precious 'Red Zone' will escape that very fate. There's nothing you weaklings can do to stop them.. everything.. even the Mortals you swear to protect.. will be destroyed." He began to laugh loudly, grinning wide. "What will you do now, Immortal? Are you going to eat me? Hahaha.. ha ha.." Salegg's laughs slowed to a chuckle, before closing his eyes.

@Seraph Darkfire

Alex chuckled, feeling a little sad as his armor dissipated under it's own power. He floated there, looking at Salegg. He barely had any strength, just enough to move. "Mortals have survived worse, and with you distracting me, you've allowed the Demons to run free" at the mention of the Grand Fleet he frowned "Then, my worthy enemy" he said softly "If they do not wish to listen to reason, I will do my best to destroy this Grand Fleet of yours" he idly wondered if he and Salegg would have become friends had he been created here instead of this so called Grand Fleet. Not many Immortals had managed to make him go all out, to the point that his soul was nearly destroyed for the second time in several hours.

"Immortals are worth more than you give them credit for, we are strong" he placed his hand on Salegg's chest "You are not mine to eat. To do so would make me no more a monster than any other demon. Your soul and energy belong to this universe we live in"

"You won't survive with your soul in such a state, however, I will use my own energy to dissipate it so you will not become food for the Demons" it was the least he could do for someone who'd given him such a grand fight. If Salegg hadn't arrived, he wouldn't have grown as strong as he did.

Without his Armor, he couldn't control gravity as freely as before. Two small gravity spheres, barely holding themselves together floated around his hand "Whether there is a god or not, only you will know"

With a pulse, his energy surged into Salegg at a rapid pace. It flooded over his soul and into the crack that had formed. He did so to make sure that Salegg's soul would dissipate completely.

@Rurnur

Salegg smiled. "No need to worry, those demons are in just as much danger.. as you.." He gave another weak chuckle, finally removing his cap and running his fingers through his long, blonde hair. "I would have liked to see you try that, Immortal. Not many have the opportunity to gain your level of power, i'm ever so curious.. what'll happen next.." Salegg didn't regret his actions, he had always wanted it to end with a great battle, and so it has.

"Don't fool yourself, there are two sides in this war, and you're not in either of them. The universe will never be at peace, if Bad Town is allowed to exist, and expand." He coughed harshly, gripping Alex's forearm. "You know who the real enemy is, deep down. Don't you, Alex?" He stared down the Immortal, preparing himself for the end.

"Oh, I know.. I know exactly who god is.." He formed a fist in his left hand, closing his eyes as his soul shattered. With a blast of white light, bright wispy energy escaped, dissipating in the space around him. It was beautiful, the life energy of the universe, now allowed to return to it's home. As the last ounces of energy escaped his soul, Salegg's physical form drifted away, until it was fading light in the darkness of the universe.

Acantha felt the loss of life and directed her attention away from the old demon, passive strings already around him to warn her of a suprise attack. She turned only to see Salegg dissipate, good riddance. Wait this means I don't nessessarily have to stay here anymore do I? She put a hand to her ear. "Ohh Otrov! I sent you a gift in space, she should be in visual range about now." A bit more cheerful after seeing the death of an annoying commander. If the grand fleet is coming here there might be a big battle headed our way, and a big promotion.

Nanautzin had ignored Acantha and just recovered his energy as he watched the fight from afar. Nanautzin walked towards Acantha  slowly his viral membrane practically surrounding the area around her and slowly enclosing her.  " While I would enjoy swallowing your soul I can already tell it'll taste terrible. Just leave me be and I'll not bother you. If my children become a target because I let you go I'll show you just how angry I can become." Nanautzin warned as he walked past her jumping into the void of the space.

As Acantha's ship came in closer proximity to the space station, or what was left of it, Otrov began to analyse the energy readings. Had.. the captain failed? "Damnit, we need to get you all out of there." He said to himself. Then, upon receiving the Captain's signal, as well as Acantha's, he pushed himself out of the ship, looking around for the other soldiers. "Gabriel!" He shouted, beckoning her to return to the ship. "Where's the others? The Captain's already reported this to the Grand Fleet, we really need to head back there."

Acantha simply followed Nanautzin with her eyes, not really planing anything only enjoying the sight of a demon up close without it trying to eat her. "goodluck old man!" She yelled at him before leaving herself, the strings pulling her toward the stations hole slowly but then soon shooting her at the ships location. She let out a sigh, today was the most stress filled one to date. I wonder how the rest are holding up? Her strings now caught her ship and pulling herself toward it.

@SleepyBuddha @Rurnur @Gabriel Forfax

Gabriel shouted from the top of her lungs into nothingness as she saw, and felt, Captain Hiiglane's energy ceasing to exist. "Captain!", she called after him, and then once again, knowing already that she won't get a response. The Officer looked at his murderer out of spite, the gravity wielding immortal that was floating, young soldier determined to avenge her superior's death there and now. She turned around when she heard someone calling for her, and saluted. "Sir! Acantha is nearing, Freya already left the position". The Officer hissed and held for her leg as the virus already consumed it halfway beyond repair. "We can't leave, Captain Hiiglane's murderer is still there, we can finish him with ease"
@Rurnur @Petroshka

"Captain.. " Otrov analysed the energy of the Immortal who had been fighting him. Shockingly, the energy levels were higher than both his and Gabriels combined, even when injured. He must have achieved Armoured form, they couldn't risk their lives in this situation any longer. Besides, this whole region of space would be decimated with time. "No, we can't risk staying here any longer. I'm the Captain now." He shouted out to her. "Forget about it Gabriel, he's dead already! The Fleet is in motion!".

Gabriel looked at Captain Otrov, and nodded with uncertainty, looking over her shoulder at Salegg's body drifting away "Can we at least, make him a proper burial?". The Officer asked Otrov, hoping that he would allow them to pick it up. Just this one time, the young Officer didn't seem troubled to disobey the order of her superior, and she looked at the Captain, waiting for an answer.

Theon shook his head sadly. Salegg wasn't the nicest person to interact with, he was arrogant, and frustrating to deal with. But he did his job well, with dedication, honesty and hard work. "You know there isn't anything we can do, Gabriel, in a few minutes, his physical form will be gone with the universe. He fell doing his job, now let's do ours." He then took control of the ship, moving it closer to pick up Gabriel, and setting coordinates for their return to the fleet.

@Gabriel Forfax

Gabriel shook her head, not accepting this, feeling guilty for Captain Hiiglane's fate. She clenched her hands onto fists, quietly cursing the Immortal with shaking, angry breath as she entered the ship, leaning against the closest wall as she was no longer able to stand. "I'll avenge him, I swear...", she promised to no one in particular, sinking down onto the floor.
