Fandom Red Dead Redemption 3: A New Tale OOC

Hang on, are we not starting out as a gang already?

The group is already a gang at the start of the Rp, yes. We are working out the history of the gang by figuring how different characters became part of it though and met each other. Which can be useful for us going forward and with the rp’s storyline and telling moving forward.

Marguerite: I think this was discussed at one point and decided. But events that followed might have me on a different page. So if that idea wasn’t agreed upon like it seemed once, I imagine in a place like maybe Dodge City, perhaps a game of cards was involved as that would be likely with John when in towns and not there for work or some reason that would change matters. Perhaps familiar with some of the bounties and even approached a time or two about the job, recognizes the profile of Marguerite and offers a kindly tip. If anything escalated after that like discussed last time around would be a cool fit, but something that comes to mind for these two so far. Although perhaps a fair similarity to what’s going on with Asher & Marguerite’s history together, so I can keep thinking on it. A city like Dodge just seems fitting to me though here in this case.


Asher: This could depend on timelines considering Marguerite and Asher’s history and how that could play into knowing John. Perhaps could be a second meeting without knowing the other pair have met as well or now have met? (If that ramble makes sense) Perhaps a group of upstarts recognize John’s description and start trying to get under his skin to start a fight wanting to test their gun hand and make a name for themselves, plenty of annoyed grunts from Big John as the usual comments get replayed. Back turned to them and drinking at the bar paying no mind with nothing to prove in his opinion, perhaps it escalated into a full blown brawl somehow, that gets the whole bar involved after various throws into others, punches, etc and that ultimately leads to them riding together for a time that turns into perhaps years into the present?


Sakai: Nothing in mind yet, don’t know his history to get enough together for ideas. Only the brief look of it from his IC post.


Genevieve: It could be entirely possible during one of John’s strolls away from camp that he came across Vieve up in the hills or perhaps in the forest areas around the west. Maybe circumstances noticed or volunteered or what have you, leads to John inviting her to stay at the camp and rest up with some food and spot by the fire? Leading to her staying with the group from then on.

Alright cool. I gotta double check a few things for timeline but thought I had a rough idea of how long the gang had been around from the start of it all til now. Unfortunately doesn’t appear like I kept it written down anywhere.

I’ll say for now it could be around a decade or close to that number. The first members of how it all began could be NPC’s with some long since leaving the group for whatever reasons and etc or could be some main cast members as well pending on what folks want to do. Pretty sure somewhere (don't remember where) you maybe said six years for the gang. I just went with 4 years to match up with Asher's timeline of being on her own for a couple years

Decided I’d write a quick guide of sorts for how Asher views the other characters so far as some kind of frame of reference:

• John: Asher has a lot of respect for John and often seeks his perspective on matters due to him generally being more coolheaded and thoughtful than she is. She can tell he’s been through a lot and doesn’t pry into his business, but she does subtly try to get him to open up with conversation sometimes. He’s the kind of person she’d probably enjoy just spending time with in silence, or would enjoy having philosophical-type talks with him.
  
  
• Marguerite: Asher is very impressed with Marguerite’s knowledge and skill, and wishes she were as smart as her. She likes to watch Marguerite work on creating her poisons and explosives, and will often offer to procure whatever she needs. She admires Marguerite a lot, and wants to be good friends with her. She does teasingly hold that time Marguerite cheated her at cards over her head, though.
  
  
• Sakai: Asher is fascinated with Sakai because she’s never met anyone like him before. She likes to ask him questions about his life and what his homeland is like, and listens intently even if the cultural differences are so great that she doesn’t really understand what he’s talking about half the time. She always has a million questions but tends to keep them to herself because she feels like she’s being a bother. She also secretly really wants to learn how to use his katana.
  
  
• Genevieve: As the newest addition to the gang, Asher is still largely forming her opinion on Genevieve. She’s very curious to know more about the other woman, and has been kind and polite to her, but still cautious. Asher is warming up to her more and more though, going out of her way to talk to Genevieve and make sure she’s doing alright. Seeing as they both have outlaw fathers who were taken by the law, I think that’s something Asher could really bond with her over.
  
  
• Buck: Asher is admittedly a little intimidated by Buck; he is, after all, over twice her size. Even though he seems nice enough, she’s a bit sheepish around him due to her intimidation. She’s always kind and polite to Buck when she does talk to him, though. She hasn’t gotten around to asking yet, but she is curious about his tattoos and what they mean. She absolutely adores Fenrir though, and just wants to throw her arms around the big beast and cuddle with him. She sneaks food scraps to the wolf and sweet talks him when she doesn’t think anyone is looking.
  
  
• Salvatore: Due to their slight history before either of them joined the gang, and Asher’s awareness of what sort of pain in the neck she’s been to Salvatore, she sometimes likes to mess with him and give him a hard time, but it’s all friendly and in good fun. She’s just come to enjoy her role of being a bit of a thorn in his side. She does genuinely enjoy his company though, even if she is aware she might be annoying to him. The both of them being brought up in a life of crime might also give them some common ground to bond over.

Going off memory, but can’t think of any tips really. The post was good. Descriptive while showing more and more of Buck’s personality while engaging with others in the group in respective ways fitting to them.
