Fandom reawakening: calamity

“Ha! I suppose brave is one word for it.” He chuckled as he replied, “personally I normally use adventurous. But I think I’ll do just that, nice meeting you Saeha.” Immediately distracted from the conversation he was in he turned to face trill as he approached. “Ooh don’t mind if I do. You’re a Rito aren’t you?” Without a second of hesitation Adagio took one of the cups and downed it in a single gulp. Not his usual blend but still rather good, only burned his throat a little.

Hacking a little before clearing his throat he continued his prattling towards the newcomer. “Don’t worry about being tardy, there’s things you can’t control and nobody got hurt in the end. It’s the thought that counts you know? Those were some strange creatures so anyone who’d take a single step towards a scene like that is alright in my book. Speaking of…” Reminded of the very monsters that attacked the town he addressed the girl with the hammer.

“You called em Guardians yeah? Don’t do a very good job of that do they? I’m not sure I’ve ever seen anything like them. Are they common around here?” He jumped from conversation to conversation like he had to hit his words per minute mark but he’d witnessed so many interesting things at once he just couldn’t settle down. There we’re plenty of monsters in the Faron Woods but nothing like that. It felt so unnatural but moved like a living thing. With it being illusion magic he chocked it up to being entirely made up but turns out it even has a name. His interest was thoroughly piqued.

The simple shake of Adagio and her hand was all it was. A handshake was what it was called. He found her amusing, a chuckle bubbling to the surface as he replied to her. Her eyes lit up when she heard the word adventurous and had to clasp her hands together to stop herself from starting to float though she did sway a little in excitement.

"Adventurous, you say? I'd love to hear about a few of your own if you wouldn't mind sometime."
She said with a bright smile on her lips, when a tray of tea was held out in front of the both of them. Her attention went to the mug and her gaze shifted up the feathered arm of the Rito that was offering it to them. Her golden eyes shimmered like stars as the smell of the tea painted pleasant memories of sitting with a blonde Hylian talking about--

Something she enjoyed, the feeling of giddy happiness couldn't have been bad.

"Oh, that's very kind of you to do." She mused joyously to the Rito as she took a cup and held it in her hands, enjoying the warmth of the glass against her hands.

Humming softly to herself, she brought it up to her lips and sipped at it slowly, letting the heat spread through her chest in a warm that helped restore some of the energy she had used up earlier. "Guardians are tricky to fight when they can move on their own, but if you point their attention to something else, you might be able to lead them away somewhere more suitable for fighting," Saeha spoke softly with the cup still to her lips, her gaze watching the rippling honey-colored liquid and the steam that billowed from it, contemplating all the interactions she had had with Guardians. Most of them were of a hundred years ago when they were rampant and deadlier than ever. "They were a lot more common a hundred years ago, and many people died to immobilize the ones that have taken over by the earth."

The half-empty tea cup was lowered from her face as she stared at her own reflection looking back at her within the tea. Her expression was thoughtful and almost sorrowful as if she was mourning their lives in that moment of quiet contemplation. Then with a final long sip, she placed the cup back on the tray with a small bow of gratitude that she quickly bounced back up from as if someone had called her name.

But everything was relatively quiet, though to her she could sense something wrong. With a hand over her heart, she looked to and fro before her eyes landed on Bemere rubbing her ears, the coral gone from them.

It was almost like a lightbulb had gone off above her head as the worry faded and she quietly strode over to the Hylian girl, leaning a bit at her waist to look at her eyes, head tilted to the side curiously.

"Your ears," Saeha murmured just loud enough for her to hear as she stepped closer and moved Bemere's hands away from her ears so her hands could cover them. Her palms only slightly touching the skin of her ears as a pale gold light glowed in the space between Saeha's and Bemere's skin. "Did losing your coral hurt your ears?"

It was a simple question, one she didn't expect an answer to while she held her hands where they were as the ringing in them would fade. Only when it was gone did the light go away. "Is that better?"

Though she accepted it, the tea did very little to calm her frantic nerves. Deti missing, guardians attacking, coral now missing - these thoughts swam in her head non-stop. So much happened in the past 48 hours that keeping up felt like a chore.

The tea was a nice flavor, one she couldn't place. Herbs weren't really a strong subject for her, but the Rito looked like he knew what he was doing. In fact, everyone surrounding her looked like that. The shame from earlier mixed with the tea, it was bitter and made her stomach flip several times.

Keep yourself together, Mere, she thought, knowing this was not the time nor place to break down her already fragile wall. Normally, she was put more together than this, not so introspective; however, stress does silly things to the mind and body.

She listened numbly as Saeha explained the guardians, staring at the cup in her hand. Occasionally, she'd rub one of her ears - the pain and ringing distracting her.

"Your ears," she heard Saeha say, her eyes focusing on the blonde. Words died on her tongue as they made eye contact gold meeting hazel.

Her tanned skin flushed as the fairy moved towards her, placing her hands on either side of her face. Immediately, her brain went into overdrive and yet, nothing crossed her mind at the same time.

For Bemere, it was like time itself stopped. Only her village touched her like this. Not even Deti, came to her mind. He knew her for years and they've never gotten this close before. Now a beautiful stranger was breathing the same air as her, her hands warming up her already burning skin.

"I-I-," she said lamely, not really knowing what was going on. The light that came from her hands stung slightly, but not overly so. It warmed her inner core, traveling from her ears all the way to her toes.

"Did losing your coral hurt your ears?" Saeha's voice was soft, Bemere nearly not hearing her. As the warmth of the light traveled down her body, her legs began to feel weak. They threatened to give out, but she willed herself to stay upright. The embarrassment from collapsing because someone touched her - though the most beautiful someone she ever laid eyes on - would be too much for her to handle on top of her other worries.

Almost as quick as it came, the light fades, but her core remained warm. It was an otherworldly feeling, but not unwelcomed.

As soon as Saeha removed her hands, Bemere noticed that the ringing and pain stopped. She knew magic existed, but she never really got to see this close - nevertheless used on her.

She nods, not wanting to come across even more of a dunce than she already has. "Yes, it's all gone." Her voice sounds breathless. "How did you do that, that was amazing!"

Keenan

Whether it was from embarrassment or something else, the girl’s face remained quite red as she took her blade from his hands, giving him a quiet thank you as she regained her composure. Before either of them could speak another word her emerald green eyes widened slightly, as if she were suddenly remembering something urgent.

“I have to get back to Kakariko.” She said with a rush, bowing awkwardly. “But thank you again.”

Keenan raised an eyebrow. So his suspicions about her being a Sheikah were correct, though the clothes and white hair more or less had already confirmed it. Her green eyes suggested she was of mixed ancestry but as curious as he was it wasn’t the time to bring it up. No, he had a goal to complete and with any luck perhaps this girl could make the process somewhat easier, or at least give him a few extra minutes to meet Chief Impa before he was turned into a Yiga pin cushion by her fellow clansmen. He wasn’t even sure if she could help him or would even want to. The thought of a elderly grandmother figure attempting to give him an exorcism was a funny thought though.

By Ganon, he really was going out of his mind.

“Hey! Miss, wait up. Please.” Keenan called. The girl had already turned and was prepared to sprint away like a rabbit. “I need to go to Kakariko village myself, may I accompany you?”

As if displeased with his words, his chest suddenly started to throb. Gritting his teeth, it took all of his will-power not to cry out and fall over. He coughed, thumping his chest for a moment as the pain subsided. Laughing tiredly he added, “Apologies, it’s been quite a journey getting here.”

Inwardly he cursed at his weakness in front of a stranger. He wondered how long it would take before she grew suspicious of him. While he had done all that he could to remove anything from his person that could connect him to the Yiga clan, she’d probably figure out the connection between them easily. He just hoped she wouldn’t attack him for it right away.

Walking until he was at her side, the former assassin extended his hand. “But where are my manners? My name is Keenan.”

With the threat over life went back to normal. Vendors started shouting to get attention to sell their wares to locals or travelers. Despite the devastation and danger of the world people still had to but and sell things to live. There would never be a point where merchants weren't needed. Though, some were more needed than others suck as the man holding up a strange sword. He sold courosities namely things from long long ago the older the better. This specific niche was not exactly needed in a world of survival. Still the thing he sold today or well the thing he was trying to sell had a practical use. The swird itself when removed from its sheath glowed with the eye symbol of the shadow folk. The swird however didn't match their style reccent or ancient. It had been found deep in sheikhai ruins surrounded by rust and broken swords the last one. Still trying to oedal a clearly not sheikhai artifact as one was hard.

She had sharply turned on her heel, ready to take off to Kakariko. Before she could, however, that now familiar voice spoke up. She knew, with all that perceptiveness of hers, he was affiliated with the Yiga and, because of that, the words took her by surprise. What business did he have in her home? “You want to come with me?” She shot him an incredulous look, “you do know-“ she paused, uncertain how to word it, “well, Sheikah.. don’t do well with outsiders.”

That was a lie. The Sheikah were fine with outsiders; just not Yiga. There was a certain part of her that felt like she owed him and another part that wondered why he saved her. Maybe it was all part of a greater scheme? Did she not look close enough? Atara held her composure, letting out a breath, she could do a lot with trust.

One second she wasn’t sure what to do, the next the boy, Keenan, was holding his hand out to her. Introducing himself like someone with no ill-intent. She casted him a dubious look, then her gaze fell on his hand once more. Somehow, the part of her that felt like she owed him won her over. “Atara,” she returned the gesture by gently accepting his grip, shaking his hand.

“I suppose we’re going then, you can be my guest. That way..” you’ll be safe, “ah, never mind.” She flashed him a genuine smile before forcing her feet to work. Setting a casual pace he could keep up with, she convinced herself not to worry. Kakariko had lots of good warriors, if there was trouble it would be dealt with swiftly. Meanwhile, she had a certain Yiga to be concerned about.

“Maybe once we get there you can rest.. you know, from your long journey.”

Nessa all but snorted at the idea, sleep in? Who in this world, with such little time, would want to do such a thing. “You sound like an adult, why would you think sleeping in until noon is fun?” There was surely other kids her age who enjoyed sleeping in, even if she didn’t want to admit it, she just didn’t understand the appeal.

When his next words came and he sat cross legged, in that way he did when he was listening, she beamed. The pacing started, back and forth across the room, some might say she had too much energy. “So, I was thinking,” she started, “the Yiga have been giving Gerudo town such a hassle, you know, maybe we could go cause them a bit of trouble? Like, payback?”

The great fairy Tera gave her the ability to manipulate nature seven years ago, after their parents left them at her fountain. Saran, sadly, didn’t receive any special gift. Her magic is what kept them going, getting them through the desert and all of its hardships. This is the magic she wanted to poke at the Yiga with. Sure it might be childish, but Gerudo town was where she was born. She would die for the people there.

Grima and Uriah
"Please, heroes, you must save Hyrule. The hero of time, Link, is gone. Hyrule needs you."

Heroes, huh?

It was a wonder, in Grima's mind, that his child could sleep through the chaos that had befell Kakariko village, illusion or not. While it had taken them some time to return to Kakariko from their trip across Hyrule the, due to traveling the long way around the plains, the child hadn't slept until the sky started to lighten that morning after they had entered the village the previous day.

Initially when the Guardians had attacked, he had gathered his still sleeping charge into his arms and had tried finding safety for the time being instead of trying to fight the abnormally large Guardians wreaking havoc, gathering a few other villagers along with them until everything had calmed. Around that time, Uriah had stirred awake as a few others who had been checking on the folks of the village had asked if any of them were injured. When asked, Grima simply shook his head and held up his free hand with a quiet 'we're fine, but thank you.'

"What's going on, 'ima?" She muttered tiredly as she lifted her head from his shoulder.

"You slept through a supposed Guardian attack child, but don't worry, it was just an illusion." He replied as he crouched to let her get down from his back before standing straight and brushing his pants free of dust. Some of the vendors had gone back to business, and he had considered the voice he had heard in his head during the chaos.

It was a worrying thing, if the Link from legend was gone and others had to save Hyrule in his stead, along with the sudden illusionary attack on the village. His role was not of the hero, but to be part of the very people who were the protectors of the Hylian Royal Family.. He was pulled out of his thoughts as Uriah had left his side, weaving through the clusters of Sheikah still milling about to approach one of the Vendors as he tried to sell some sort of sword, her curious hazel eyes gazing upon the weapon.

"Hey Mister, what's with the weird sword? Where'd you get it?" She asked, though felt a tug on one of her ears from Grima, who had saddled up to her side.

"Manners." He reminded her with a soft huff, earning a small pout from the girl before she returned her gaze to the vendor.

"How much do you want for it? Was it made with some of those luminous stones or whatever they're called?" She asked then. It was a rather pretty sword, in all honesty, despite it's weirdness.

The merchant smiled what seemed like a rude question was the perfect spring board. That was one skill you needed to sell at a stall turn every question into a sales pitch. So even as the girl's father , the merchant assumed, told her to mind her manners the merchant chuckled. The father continued to make his sales pitch for him.

"This sword is a one of a kind treasure" he said holding it out show it was indeed special and that anyone with eveys could see it was a true blade not some over decorated trick. " It was found deep in a Sheikhai ruin gudaded by their ancient devices and guardains." That was an exaggeration buy true enough " and found locked away surrounded only by rust and broken blades" another true but slightly embedded detail.

" How or what it was made of or with is a mystery but despite 10 thousand years it's edge has not dulled" he then brought it close to himself and scratched his chin. " I can't part with this sword fir any less than 2000 ruppies" he said though there was room to haggle

Trill nodded proudly at the masked man. "Yes! I am a Rito. I suppose I may as well introduce myself properly to you all after this little ordeal. My name is Trill!" He started to give a small polite bow, but stopped when he nearly spilled some tea. He laughed at his mistake.

He nodded at the beautiful woman. "Of course! After such an ordeal, if there's any way I can help people, however small, I want to do it."

He returned to the question about guardians to give his own answer. "As for guardians… well, according to legend they were supposed to be protectors of a sort before they were corrupted during the Calamity. I wouldn't call them uncommon, though they tend to stick to their own territories of sorts these days, so attacking a settlement is almost unheard of. They're more common the closer one travels to Hyrule Castle." He shook his head, the corners of his beak pulling downward in a slight grimace. "I avoid them if I can help it. I don't care how high I can go, I avoid flying over Central Hyrule at all costs." He sighed heavily. "I'm sure I'm not the only one, but I'm beyond relieved the whole village is as good as untouched… Were they real, I'd expect it to be a pile of ash and rubble by now…" Not to mention smoking corpses. He shivered.

Hearing about lost coral, he perked up again, completely missing how the other woman who had fought reacted in favor of being fascinated by the healing magic. "Incredible! What a gift!" He sighed wistfully. "I've always wished to be gifted with magical methods of healing, but alas, I'm bound to the limitations of herbal remedies and elixirs… Now, miss? What's this about losing something? Coral? I'd be happy to help you look." He was already putting the tray down, his eyes focused on darting around in the grass where the short battle had taken place.

"I've been meaning to make my way to the Mountain Range but you're the first Rito I've met, it's a pleasure meeting you Trill. I'm Adagio." He smiled and returned the half bow in response. Listening to Trill's explanation about the Guardian's Adagio was intrigued. That explained the name at least, it seemed like they were almost guarding the castle. If they were as strong as the illusion made them out to be they were certainly suited to the task at least. He would like to see them in person at least once, they were strange new creatures after all. "It would be quite the endeavor to try to clean all that up."

Taking note of the other conversation he was intrigued by the thought of using coral for accessories. It was a material he hadn't worked with before, he'd have to try it at some point. For now there were more pressing matters though weren't there. "Speaking of the castle, do you know of anyone who's been there?" He got the impression the place was pretty unapproachable so without a bit of help he wouldn't even get there on his own. Forget saving Hyrule if he couldn't even reach the final boss. With any luck maybe someone who'd been around the world a bit more would be able to help him figure out how to get there.

"What brings you all into town anyways?" All of the natives he'd seen had white hair so he assumed the rest were travelers like him. He was curious what kind of stories they might have to share about their travels.

Grima and Uriah

While Uriah was instantly interested in the tales the vendor spun, Grima held a more skeptical air about him even as he gazed at the blade and found its condition to be good.

The price the man started with was a bit high.

"Grima, please?" Uriah begged, head whipping to her left to look up at him with a slight whine in her tone, earning a small exasperated, yet affectionate, sigh from the man beside her as he crossed his arms and gazed at the merchant.

"How about 1,000 rupees?" He offered.

"1,500." The merchant replied. Grima tilted his head, his only visible eye staring the man down.

"1,000."

Uriah glanced back and forth between the two adults, watching them haggle quietly before her eyes were drawn to the sword again. The man did say it was a treasure, from 10,000 years ago. Though she was sure Grima would have offered an even lower number any other day with any other item. This wasn't any other day, plus this sword was old and glowed.

Then again, she didn't necessarily worry about things like money, herself, since Grima handled the rupees and such. Glancing over her shoulder while she waited for the outcome of the haggling process, her gaze landed on a feathered, upright bird taller than Grima.

She had heard of the Rito, but had never met one up close. Not only that, but there were a few others present such as a guy in a mask as well as about three Hylians.

She wondered, briefly, what they were doing standing about, when she was dragged out of her thoughts by Grima, who nudged her.

"You missed the ending. Here, and please be careful with it." He spoke. While this wasn't her first sword or likely her last, one still needed to be careful with such a weapon.

"How much was it?" She asked, gently taking the sword from his hands with a look of childlike awe.

"1,500 rupees." He answered as she set the sword in its sheath and placed it in her waist belt.

"Pleasure doing business with you folks." The merchant said with a smile, earning a nod from the man and a small wave from the girl, before the girl in question started tugging on her father figure's sleeve for a moment.

"Say, later let's spar." She spoke up while glancing up at him excitedly.

"Maybe." He replied, earning a pout from her, though she didn't push surprisingly. Normally she would, but seemed distracted as she tugged at his sleeve again and pointed at a Rito near the center of the village.

"What's the birdman doing?" She asked, only to grimace as her ear was tugged yet again.

"Manners, Uriah, you know it's not polite to point like that." He reminded her causing her to drop her pointing hand to her side with a soft click of her tongue and a quiet 'sorry'. Sometimes she didn't seem like a growing teen to him, acting much more like an oversized brat these days. Though one couldn't say that he wasn't fond of her.

What none knew was that the sword they had been haggling over and that had been given to a kid had been watching the whole time. B-206 had never bothered to speak with the merchant, if he knew she could talk them he would likely try to sell her for more or something that wouldn't involve breaking her.so now after all these years she was being carried around by a child. Really it was hard to tell if that was hood or bad on her quest to be destroyed. A kid could be tricked much easier, but tricking them into killing you might just hurt them. Yeah it was odd to care about if she hurt a kid if she was going to die but well B-206 had been a hurt child. That alone made her not want to hurt a child. B-206 didn't want to be as bad as those that hurt her. So what was she to do? B-206 could just remain quiet and be a sword. She could firget this and try to die. She could get somone else to kill her. Or she could just go with the flow, the kid might not kill her but she would not be a kid forever.

"So kid that your dad?" B-206 asked letting herself be heard and seen by the little girl. "Given I guess you are my owner now I think I should know" B-206 continued just saying anything that cane to mind she would try to die latter right now she just didn't want to stay silent anymore.

“the yiga?”

Saran found himself asking Nessa. He crossed his arms and looked away from nessa’s gaze shifting left and right uncomfortably. I’m not so sure..”

It had been true that the yiga had caused the Gerudo’s an obscene amount of trouble within the past few months, stealing the sacred thunder helm and spiking crime all across the desert, but messing with them- let alone taking on one of them was a bit above their fighting experience. Sure, his sister had magic and he was a very skilled with the knife in close combat but they had never taken on a real yiga before. It could be too much for them to handle, even if it was just a little prank.

But then Saran looked to his sisters eyes again. The glowing sparks of determination lit from the deep flame of passion in her soul. Her heart for her people was truly admirable, even if it was a little reckless at times. He wanted to have that same heart, that same flame that his sister had. He longed to protect her just as she had done to him for all those years they had spent alone in the desert. He admired her so much, that he wanted to be like her, and be just as strong and courageous as she could in any day. And protecting his people by sticking up to the yiga did sound appealing even if a little dangerous. Maybe taking on the yiga was the next step to becoming stronger, the next step for saran to ignite his flame inside of himself.

“let’s stick to just doing smaller things-stealing supplies or confusing guards. We could steal some blast arrows from their hideout then make fireworks with them at the edge of the desert.” He suggested. He knew his sister would like that. Last year for her birthday he stole blast arrows from the market to make homemade fireworks for her and they had a blast. That way they could mess with the yiga in a safe way, say they did it, and still have fun.

What was the likelihood of her brother saying no to her? Oh, right, slim to none. She had Saran wrapped around her finger like a little sister would their big brother, even as twins. They had been that way since they were babies. Always inseparable, always together. While she found herself to be a tad more protective, at least verbally, Saran was still always there for her.

So, even when he claimed to be ‘not sure,’ she knew she had won. Her eyes lit up at the verbal confirmation he eventually gave, agreeing to do it on his terms. Which, was still agreeing. They could do smaller things and still cause trouble, that was all she wanted; to send the Yiga a message.

Clasping her hands together, she gave him a bright smile. “Blast arrows? Like last year? That would be so fun!” Saran might have known his sister a little too well. Her original plan was, perhaps, more dangerous, but the recommendation of fireworks made her instantly sidetrack. She could work with this.

Reaching out, she grabbed Saran’s hands and attempted to pry him off the bed. “Come on then, Saran! Let’s go!”

The Lost Fairy
;; Saeha
Saeha merely tilted her head, brows furrowing in concern as Bemere's face grew warm in her hands and the young woman began to stutter. Even after her magic had stopped, her condition did not resolve itself, something that was entirely new to the Fairy. Unaware of the effect she had on the young woman, the blonde stared down at her hands thinking she might have failed to fully heal Bemere.

"Yes, it's all gone." Her voice sounds breathless. "How did you do that, that was amazing!"

At the small reassurance of her injuries being gone, Saeha was looking back up again, her shoulders relaxing in relief as she wove her hands together behind her back with a smile.

"That's wonderful, I was worried my magic hadn't worked all the way." The worry and relief in her voice was as felt as how happy she was to see that she hadn't failed to help. Though a thoughtful expression grew on her face as she rested her finger on her chin with a hum. "The easiest way to explain would be light magic." She pondered out loud, unable to speak much further because how does one explain something that they do naturally.

Something that was akin to breathing.

Healing was just what Fairies did by proximity, though she supposed that there was some form of thought involved.

To choose who they healed, though that wasn't needed if they were close by to them?

The more she thought about it, the more her brows furrowed at the strain of overthinking something that she didn't have an explanation for. It simply was, what it was.

How the Fairies had the ability to heal she could explain, tracing it all the way back to the time of Hylia still being a goddess. How they did it though, was more something you had to show.

At some point the string of continuous thought had stirred up a migraine, making it come to a screeching halt as she tried to delve into memories not yet there. Her hand going to touch her temple with a wince. Now distracted, she laughed softly to herself before saying, "I... Am unable to give a thorough answer outside of that. My apologies."

Trill's excitement pained her as he spoke while the last of her migraine began to fade. Though she only let a soft smile show on her face as she nodded to the male Rito in gratitude. It was unfortunate, but she truly wanted to ask all he knew about the herbal remedies and elixirs. However, he was right in that the coral was far more important.

"We should be able to find it in no time!" Saeha chirped happily, though it gave her a sharp pain in her head, it was worth it to not worry them. The pain would leave soon, it wasn't the first, nor the last time she would suffer this same punishment. "Maybe after, you could talk about those other remedies? I'd love to learn how to make them."

The blonde tried to follow the path she remembered seeing Bemere take when she came out of hiding, scanning the ground with a sharp gaze for the brightly colored coral when she heard Adagio bring up the castle. Another wave of pain, much more demanding to be felt, hit her like knives at even trying to think of the Castle. She wavered a bit on her feet, pausing to rest her hand on a barrel to keep herself up as the other held her head.

"You'll die if you go in there. He'll kill you."

Flashes of flowers and the scent of iron tickled her nose so much that it was nauseating. Saeha took a trembling breath as she let the memories and feelings pass, unaware of a few tears that had welled up in her closed eyes. Unaware that she had even spoken in the middle of the fit that had happened, it almost hadn't sounded like her at all, but still was all the same.

Maybe a different her.

From a different time warning someone else trying to get to the bottom of the castle.

A fragment of what was.

"Oh!" Saeha exclaimed, her eyes landing on the coral right by her feet, next to the barrel she had used to keep herself upright. "I found the coral!" She added soon after, scooping up the jewelry into her palm, her pain lessened to almost be nonexistent so her happiness could take over when she felt a spike of-

Something?

"What was that?" The fairy murmured under her breath as her gold eyes looked around for the faint energy she had sensed just moments to go. Her eyes land on a child with her father, carrying a sword? How strange.

coded by reveriee.

🗡 Bemere
Magic, her mind thrilled. Magic was known throughout Hyrule, but it was treated as something that didn't exist for the most part. Once she got her bearing, she flexed her fingers, looking at them. What would it be like for someone like her to use magic?

The mention of coral brought her attention back, the Rito - Trill, if she remembered correctly - looked positive in the endeavor. Saeha's quick agreement also left her reeling. She didn't expect these people to be so kind and help her retrieve her lost treasure. This is how heroes are supposed to act, her mind bit at her. She often stuck to herself, not bothering to help those around unless it was deemed absolutely necessary. Her heart ached, almost like someone was beating on her chest with a hammer.

"Thank you for trying, Saeha," her lips feeling unworthy to say the name. She turned to Trill, a look of pure adoration passing on her face. "If you're willing, they must've fell out when I was running over here in a rush." She pointed towards the general store. Her green eyes stopped on her own stall next to it, it looked lonely and quite sad as it stood there. A small sign on the counter read 'CLOSED', but she feared it would be closed for longer then a couple of hours. Deti's disappearance made it feel like treason if she were to continue selling as if nothing happened. She clenched her fists, her eyes unfocusing.

She didn't realize the others were talking or started looking for her missing coral until Saeha's voice rang out. She sucked in a breathe, the mountain air chilling her bones. She jogged over to the fairy, her boots making a loud thud in the grass with every step. In Saeha's hand laid a piece of green coral, the color almost blending in with the grass surrounding them. She bowed her head, relief flooding through her body.

"Thank the goddesses," she breathed out, taking the coral from her hand. Quickly, she placed it back in the obvious hole, amazement that there was no pain. She made sure it was in place before allowing herself to smile - light and fluttery. "I'm in yout debt," but it seemed as if Saeha's attention was far away. Bemere followed her eyes, her own landed on a man and a child. The sword, though, made her furrow her eyebrows. It looked almost otherwordly, a word she used more today than her entire life.

Adagio's question made her peel her eyes from the sword to the masked boy. It seemed like her attention was always fluttering this way and that today, though a lot has happened to allow it. "Ah, I am a merchant, my shop is over there." She nodded her head in the direction of her stall. "I come here every couple of weeks to sell things brought from the east." Then, almost like a lightbulb flickering above her head she added, "Oh! I forgot to tell you all my name, I am Bemere. It's nice to meet you." First impressions are important, she reminded herself. Though, these three would most likely forget her name the moment they left Kakariko. After this, she looked back to the man and child - only briefly though. Curiosity settled deep in her core, almost begging her to approach them and ask about the sword. Quick as it came, she shook the feeling out, nothing good comes out of noisiness, especially since she - herself - had things to take care of.

Deti, I will find you, her heart echoed, the promise wrapping around it as if ready to strike the moment she betrayed it. Please, be alright.

Aisha kept a sharp eye on what Saeha did, watching the healing magic do its work. Just watching that made her skin crawl, even if some other part of her found the warmth extremely enticing. The woman in general just left her with a vague unsettled feeling, Aisha wanted to resolve, or get away from as soon as possible.

Her attention being focused as it was meant that Aisha very firmly caught Saeha sway on her feet when Adagio brought up the Castle, her ominious remark not helping. Who was ‘he’? “Saeha’s right. Traveling the castle is a death sentence. I’ve heard of people who tried, and not one of them has come back. Same for people who followed to try and find them.” The few she’d heard of were dismissed as fools.

“Traveling hunter and trapper.” Aisha shrugged, indicating a few of the skins hanging off her bag. “The rain up north is driving everything away so I’m back to sell what I can, and resupply before going further south.” Her eyes lingered on Bemere, and the mention of a traveling merchant for a moment before her curiosity drew her back to Saeha.

Briefly caution and curiosity fought a battle inside her, as Aisha’s better sense and desire to not draw attention to herself tried to reign in and pull back her rampant curiosity and desire to chase the few breadcrumbs she’d been given. She could perhaps go try and find some supplies, but the merchants would be wound up, and that made for a bad negotiating environment. So, curiosity won out, and Aisha moved towards Saeha.

“Saeha? When everyone is calmed down a bit, do you have a moment we could talk?” Even if she wanted answers, she should be a little cautious.

Grima and Uriah
She blinked as the sword turned out to be alive, a young woman coming out of it and talking to her in what she could only assume was through some form of magic. It didn't seem anyone else could see her and hear her but Uriah. Wait, did that mean the weird voice from her dream was right about her being a hero?! This was so exciting! And terrifying!

"He took me in a few years ago, so yeah I guess. He's all I got." She spoke up. She had so many questions she wanted to ask, but wasn't even sure where to start!

'I'll have to write a list so I can remember all the questions I want to ask, I have so many' Uriah thought to herself, like 'why are you half spider?', 'why can I see your bones?', 'were you a living sword all this time?', 'what was it like 10,000 years ago?', things like that.

"Who…who are you talking to??" Grima asked, confused by the fact she seemed to suddenly be speaking to no one in particular, and her immediate reaction to jump as if he startled her when he was standing right next to her made him even more confused. They've gotten over the sudden spooks from his normally quiet movements by now, so what had her so…distracted?

"Uhhh…" She responded rather intelligently before snapping her fingers and adding, "It's a secret! One I can't tell you until later." Yeah, that should do it.

"Mmhm." Grima's visible eye narrowed in a way that said he didn't believe her. She happened to notice someone from the group nearby had been looking their way. Curiously, she tilted her head as Saeha, then Bemere, were both now looking their way. She wondered why.

They were both pretty, was Uriah's first thought, soon followed by thoughts wondering if they could also see the weird lady from the sword too? Or did they also think it was a cool sword?

"You think the sword is nice too?" She asked, before glancing to Grima who had also taken notice of the others as well.

"Or are you staring at him?" She asked, pointing to Grima, who gently lowered her hand.

"Stop that." He grumbled, before his gaze landed back on Bemere and Saeha, specifically and adding, "I apologize for her."

Keenan

“You want to come with me?” Green eyes shifted from surprise to suspicion. Keenan could see the gears working in the girl’s head, obviously considering her next choice of words. “You do know—” She paused, then added, “well, Sheikah...don’t do well with outsiders.”

That was a poor lie, and they both knew it. For all its banana obsessed incompetent soldiers, the Yiga clan’s intelligence network was just as expansive and skilled as the Sheikah’s was, perhaps even more so if the stories of yiga spies entering the village in disguise held any truth to them. The Sheikah were known to be hospitable towards most visitors, quite the opposite of the Yiga clan who tortured any idiots who entered their territory. This girl was clearly struggling on whether to trust him or not, not that Keenan minded. If anything he was relieved to see her guard up.

She continued to study his face, before at last she released a deep breath, grasping his outstretched hand with a slender one of her own. “Atara.” She said, squeezing gently for a few moments.

Atara, that’s a rather pretty name. He noted. At least I can die somewhat happy, having someone know my name.

Her voice drew him back to the present. “I suppose we’re going then, you can be my guest. That way..” There was that pause again. Keenan raised an eyebrow, but said nothing. “Ah, never mind.” She said, giving him a small smile. Gesturing for him to follow her, they began the trek towards her home. “Maybe once we get there you can rest.. you know, from your long journey.”

“Rest..” Keenan muttered, shaking his head. “If only things were that simple. There will most likely be a celebration after I’m executed.” He glanced up at the sky, seeing a few birds dancing on the wind. Their wings were outstretched and feathers gleamed under the afternoon sun. They were free of chains, of the burdens tied to the earth, free in a way he could never be. It made him envious. “I appreciate your kindness, Atara, but you and I both know what will likely happen to a Yiga like me. Even if your elders decide to listen to me I doubt they will allow me to live.” He grabbed a apple off a nearby tree, chewing and swallowing as he deliberated on his next words. Just as tasteless as ever it seemed. “Can’t say I blame them though. It’s better to be safe than sorry, especially with a handsome vagabond like myself.” He joked, giving Atara a wink.

I wonder what Impa will do when she sees the curse that I carry. Those vines on my chest grow by the day. Wont be long before the malice consumes me.

Isn’t that right, Ganon?

B-206

Well that was not the reaction B-206 thought she would get what was wrong with this kid. B-206 frowned she had observed things were not exactly good, but for some kid to be used to a sword spirit or so jaded it didn't scare them was something else. The damned Sheikhai had really fucked everything up hadn't they? B-206 didn't know what had happened in the last 10 thousand years, let alone the past 100 but she assumed it had something to do with those bastards. They likely had done something stupid like playing with calamity or trying ascend to godhood. They were that kind of ego driven monsters, at least to B-206.

The man really did play father and scolded the kid at every chance it seemed. B-206 was just guessing about that, but he did seem to overly worried about being polite. Really did manners matter when the world was a backwards shithole? Well it wasn't like B-206 cared to stop him and with how the girl reacted then he likely would just wave her off. looking to the group looking at the father and kid, B-206 only thought one of the was special the woman who had some odd lights going on with her. It wasn't all that interesting, just likely some magical effect or effect of having some magic device on her. B-206 dismissed the woman from her mind once she no longer cared to watched the lights. They had looked like things but were too flickery to really make out any pattern. Really if anything it looked like rays of light at times. That wasn't really that special magic could do a lot so minor fucking with lights was on the lowest of the low end of the scale. The only question was why did they seem to not always be visible, well people were stupid so they might do something stupid if a glowing person showed up. There were times when those with magic were called witches maybe this was one of those times. Either way none of this was her business.

" Are manners really such a big thing, you people live in a mostly destroyed wasteland? " B-206 asked not really caring to get an answer " I could appear to them and see if they run off, but well if they are as screwed up like you they won't be scared my my appearance either"

"I'm always happy to share what I know about medicine," said Trill to Saeha, eyes still searching in the grass. "My father keeps quite an impressive herb garden and he's always experimenting."

He searched with the girl for the lost coral. He suspected it was small, but colorful. As long as the pieces didn't get trampled into the grass, they wouldn't be too hard to find. He was very good at spotting small things or things from a distance. It was great for spotting flowers and insects from high above when he passed over them.

He was quite close by when Saeha seemed to be hit by a dizzy spell. Before he could ask, she announced she'd found the coral and returned it to its owner.

When he found the moment, he asked her. "Are you quite alright? You looked like you were a little unwell there for a moment…"

Ignorant of the item that had grabbed the attention of the others in the merry group that’d gathered in the town center Adagio turned to the girl who’d just introduced herself. “Nice to meet you Bemere, a merchant huh? Got any tips for making a quick buck?” Adagio’s current funds were rather limited so he’d take any advice he could get from someone experienced when it came to making money.

Noticing the furs Aisha carried with her he pointed to them and asked Bemere, “Do those normally sell well? I carry a few with me most of the time.” While he wasn’t a hunter by profession he certainly had the skill set of one by living in the Jungle up until recently. He normally held on to the pelts of what he killed as he didn’t like waste and enjoyed using them for crafts.

Rummaging through his bag he set aside a number of his works, masks and various trinkets, to pull out a rabbit pelt. “4,000 no, 8 rupees! That’s my final offer.” Knowing nothing of business and being reminded of a skewer he’d had at a food stall earlier from his hunger he charged the same amount said snack was. He could get another pelt in due time, but alas his cooking skills and general food knowledge were not up to snuff to create such a humble yet delicious dish even with all the ingredients being clearly right in front of him. Thus as far he could tell this was a fair trade.

The Lost Fairy
;; Saeha
Bemere was a very grateful person, always ready to give her thanks to those who tried to help. It was a good trait to have, and one that brought a bit more wind to Saeha's wings since sometimes she wasn't always recognized or thanked for what she did. So being given that genuine thanks multiple times today was almost rejuvenating in the same way Trill's tea had.

The blonde made the note to ask later for him to show her how he brewed it.

"I'm always happy to share what I know about medicine. My father keeps quite an impressive herb garden and he's always experimenting."

Said Rito male was quickly clamoring to the top of the most beloved acquaintances she has come across in her journeys, right next to Bemere. The two cheered her up immensely with only just a few simple words and promises.

A kindness shared amongst them that made it easy to forget the little spell she had.

“Saeha’s right. Traveling the castle is a death sentence. I’ve heard of people who tried, and not one of them has come back. Same for people who followed to try and find them.”

Aisha's words filled in the small blank of her memory, bringing to light that she had in fact said something, though she could not recall what. The foreign words threatened to prickle her brain with a hazy pain. A loss of something important she was not yet ready to remember. So for now she let it slide.

Bemere couldn't have trotted over at a more perfect time to spread the warmth of joy. Saying another round of thanks with sighs of relief and a smile that she wouldn't be surprised to hear could stop a few people in their tracks. But alas, no more was there to be said, her attention grabbed by Adagio asking about wares and merchants.

Though the fairy was not left alone.

Trill, in all his kindness, had found his way to her side. Concerned for her health of all things.

"Are you quite alright? You looked like you were a little unwell there for a moment…"

Saeha didn't want to worry him more, nor was she feeling as unwell as before, so speaking about it was not as hard as it normally would have been.

"You are very sweet to ask, though I will be fine. Sometimes when a memory I'm not yet ready to remember ails me from time to time," She answered with a small smile, a tired one that looked more suited for someone much older than she appeared to be. "That one must have been particularly bad to have such strong reactions. But that's to be expected from a place where the calamity dwells." Her tone was mournful as she closed her eyes for just a moment to find it in her to smile brightly again.

"Nothing some of your tea won't fix later, so you need not worry for now." Her hand gently patted the Rito on his shoulder, careful with his feathers as she noticed Aisha's approach, greeting her wordlessly with that same smile.

“Saeha? When everyone is calmed down a bit, do you have a moment we could talk?”

Now that was a little surprising, and it shown on her face as she blinked for a few seconds in surprise, her head soon tilting to the side a bit as her expression morphed into one of curiosity.

"As you wish, though would you like to talk over tea. I rather like Trill's and want to learn how to brew it myself if you don't mind being a taste tester." A small concession for what she assumed would be a simple chat, and one she hoped would brew a nice moment between the two of them. Her hands were together as though she was praying for her to agree. "You don't have to, but the offer stands."

She could use one now with all the talking she had done, but that was for another time.

When Uriah addressed her, her attention was immediately forced on the child talking to her. Whether she was ready to walk was unimportant, as her legs took her over to the Uriah and had her crouching to her level just a little bit in front of her. Her eyes stared at the sword and then the adult they had gestured toward with a slight hum and giggle as she waved off the apology.

A child's question was never a bother. Not to her anyway.

"Well, your sword does seem very interesting. I've never seen one quite like-" Her voice abruptly stopped as a thoughtful look took over, her expression softening as a brief memory of a similar sword flashed before her eyes. "Or maybe I have once?" She didn't sound so sure, almost as though she was testing her words to see if they sounded right.

Grima and Uriah
With Grima's hand still over her's, Uriah turned her hand over to hold his and gently swing their linked hands before a thoughtful look crossed her face at the sword spirit's question.

"Well sometimes if you're polite you're less likely to make enemies. At least you have an easier time dealing with merchants, especially the stingy ones. Plus, I don't mean to, but I get in trouble a lot because sometimes the other kids are dumb and I gotta give 'em a good ol' black eye." She answered with a small eye roll, though Uriah's eyes narrowed at B-206's words regarding herself as they shifted to look at the sword spirit in question.

"I'm not screwed up, besides one of the first questions that came to mind was why do you look like that? Did you always just…look like that? All bones and spidery." She denied, then asked some of the questions she had wanted to ask.

"I dunno how they'd react if you just popped up, but Grima might try and toss you in the water behind Granny Impa's house. Don't worry though, I won't let him 'cause he paid so much for you even if you're kinda mean." She reassured B-206 with a small nod of her head. Besides, Grima would probably hesitate himself before trying to toss the sword in the water. He'd probably try and lock it up and ask questions about the possessed sword he bought her or something like that.

Her gaze landed on Saeha as she approached, her eyes growing curious as the woman spoke to her, then lighting up when the woman said she may have seen a similar sword once before.

Grima was glad that Saeha didn't seem to mind his child's small eccentricities, though he did pick up that the young teen seemed to be speaking to someone else that…wasn't there. It was a bit concerning, and something he'd have to ask the girl more about later. He watched as she interacted with Saeha with a small flash of amusement in his visible eye.

"Really? Grima just bought this for me, and the merchant said this sword is 10,000 years old." She replied before gasping as if a thought just came to her, and she studied Saeha a moment before asking in almost a conspiratory whisper, "Are you magically, um, ancient too? You're really pretty, like a princess from a story." She was having multiple thoughts cross her mind, but Saeha had her interest and most of her attention at least.

"If you did see a sword like this…what did it look like? Did it glow too?" She asked then, having stopped swinging her and Grima's linked hands by now. She had more questions, but wasn't sure how well asking 'did that sword talk and have a weird person in it?' Would go over. Saeha seemed rather nice, however.

"Did you meet Granny, uh I mean, Lady Impa before too? She's one of the oldest people I know of." She added, though realized that she had called Impa Granny this time compared to before with B-206. Then again, she called most little old ladies things like 'Granny' even if there was no relation.

Kinda mean the little girl had said kinda mean, well B-206 couldn't deny that manner and not angering people were low on her list. She was even trying to be nicer because it was sone kid holding her. So well B-206 could only see the comment as fair enough. She wasn't going to get insulted over the truth about how she acted.

B-206 sighed " Given you will just ask again yes I have always looked like this. I am a failed immatation of the master sword that's why form is so monstertrous the Shiekhai failed " she lied there had been a time before she had been just a soul, but that time was foggy and B-206 didn't really remember what she looked like. The threat of some time in a lake while not ideal or well remotely what she wanted didn't scare B-206.

The magic woman came close and looked at both B-206 and the girl gave her an idea. The woman mentioned seeing a similar sword likely meaning the master sword. Well with how the girl was asking the magic woman might pick up on that B-206 was there.

"Most have heard of the master sword even in this backwards age " B-206 said allowing herself to be seen and heard by the blonde woman. "Also it's embarrassing when you stare at me so much" she said in a teasing tone.
